All the burgers and sandwiches we ordered are sooooo good, even all the sides. Besides that, there are plenty choices of bread and sides. We appreciate they provide whole wheat buns, salad, and steamed veges:)

Good food at a reasonable price, we went for breakfast and it was delicious. They have an extensive menu with many options. It is definitely a dinner vibe with records on the walls and a jukebox playing in the background. The sign clearly states food would take 10-20 minutes and that was accurate, not the fastest meal, but we were forewarned. All-in-all it's worth the stop.

The food was amazing and the staff were super friendly, treating us almost like family. The portions were huge and two items alone could have fed a small family.

We stopped in for a free ice cream cone and stumbled upon a hidden small-town gem! The moment we walked in, we were blown away by the ceiling lined with old records, giving the place a cool, nostalgic feel. It’s like stepping back into a classic 50s diner with checkered floors and shiny red booths—it was such a fun vibe! Everyone around us was happily enjoying their food, and the burgers looked amazing. There’s even a little game area for the kids with air hockey and games to keep them entertained. But the real surprise? The free ice cream cone was huge, and the strawberry cheesecake ice cream was out of this world! We can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu next time we’re in town. This place is a must-visit!

Stopped by this place on our way to Yosemite (to Wawona) from Coulterville and just happened upon this place. We were hungry and we were glad it was open at 6am. Great happy service and great happy food! They literally have a HUGE menu so everyone has something they can eat! And on top of that, they customize it to just the way you want it! Only downside is that they do take a while to cook your food. So make sure to either make time for it or order ahead. They accept phone orders so it can be ready when you arrive. We ordered the breakfast items and it was delicious!!!! I got the corned beef hash breakfast and oh man, it was everything I hoped it would be! It was super crispy which I super loved and the hash was perfect! It was thick strands so it got enough potato and yet enough crispness. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious! I wish I had more stomach space to finish all the pancakes! They definitely give a lot. My husband had the Steak and eggs with the onions and mushrooms on top and he loved it too. Bathrooms were clean and are on the outside. They also have nice outside seating and an area for you to sit of you have a dog. I definitely would recommend this stop of you are on the area!!!

I stopped at this place about 4 years ago to have lunch. I was with my friends and my dog going to Yosemite. We ordered their burgers, and one of my friends ordered their veggie burger. We sat at their doggy dining area outside and enjoyed our delicious food. Today my fiance and I stopped here for breakfast. Service is still super friendly and breakfast was very good. Definitely recommended if you're hungry on your way to Yosemite or if just passing through

Stopped here before Yosemite. Great place to stop and eat. They had a lot of vegan and vegetarian options. Which was great! Their food was really good. Definitely worth stopping by. Food came out pretty fast for the amount of people that were in there. There’s a lot of seating; Inside, outside, front and out back. They do have games for the kids to play with. It’s a cute little outdoor area for the kids to run around.

We had a late breakfast here. It really looks like what you expect when you think of an american resto in a small town close to the highway. The food was good and almost everybody will find something suitable (there is even a good vegetarian/vegan choice). You order and pay at the counter and 10-20min later somebody will bring the food to your table. Recommendation.

I ordered the garlic burguer, taste very good but the bread is not the correct one it looks like normal bread for a sandwich, but in general burguers looks very good, and big. Prices for me are higher than other places around.

This place is really good! My granddaughter had the burrito Supreme and it must have weighed 5 pounds. She loved it. Iced coffee was just what I was needing. Great atmosphere with lively fun people working.

Had an amazing experience! Truly so many choices. It was the perfect stop after a long day of hiking. Staff was happy and quick and the food was delicious. I had a paddy melt that was perfect and my wife's dream came true as she ordered chili in a bread bowl, a corndog, and chocolate milk, some of her favorite foods. We had a coupon for a free ice cream cone as well and what they made us was huge! Probably the best and largest free ice cream I've ever had! That alone shows the quality and class of the restaurant. We would definitely recommend!

The sweetest people and the best food! We came when it was super busy and it took about 40 minutes for our food to be made, which we were told in advance, and it was soooo worth the wait. My advice for you, always say yes to their ranch, get the mint chip shake, and always trust their recommendations!!! We got the garlic burger and steak sandwich, so so so good and so happy we stopped here.

This place is such a gem. The small burger joint is absolutely delicious. We went with a party of 6 and everyone was impressed with their diverse menu that included vegan options. The worker who took our order was patient and friendly. The food came out hot and fresh and the servers were very gracious. Their prices are reasonable which we appreciated. I was very hesitant to use their restroom because I typically have bad experiences with restaurants that have an outdoor facility, but was pleasantly surprised that it was clean and smelled of fresh bleach and cleaner. We enjoyed looking at all the vintage records that decorate the walls and discussing various musicians. It is a quaint place with good vibes. I was really grateful we stumbled upon this restaurant on our way back from Yosemite and will be back in the future.

Had a line out the door yet all employees were cheerful and kind. 30-40 minute wait for breakfast but it was well worth it. My partner and I both got 2 breakfast meals and they were so tasty! 4 big meals for $36. We both enjoyed viewing all the vinyls and articles while we waited. A special place for sure.

What a delight this place was! We were hiking in Yosemite and it was now dinner time and we were hungry! We were on our way to a different restaurant when this spot caught our eye. It came with fries that you could upgrade, I upgraded to the zucchini sticks and WOW those were the best I ever had. Stopped here for breakfast on July 4, and so glad it was opened and early too at 6am. Great place to eat and solid people and service was amazing. Generous serving sizes and the folks were nice and loved the signs inside too Coffee was superb This is the best spot for bfast if your in or near Yosemite. The food inside Yosemite (bfast) is not as good or worth eating at as compared to this diner. Will be back for sure.

This was my first visit to Happy Burger and I will definitely be visiting again! The experience was great and the service was excellent. Enjoyed our lunch here. They have a very big menu, with lots of vegetarian options. The burger was awesome, the patty was so juicy and cooked well. They have different varieties of bread options too for sandwich. The burrito was very delicious as well, with just right quantities of sour cream, beans, rice, veggies, cheese. Their fries are amazing had one with garlic and other one was crinkle cut. The hot n sour wings were good too. The salads were fresh and looked good too. Overall great food. Friendly staff, serve fresh food in reasonable time, generous portions and not expensive.

Quite palatable food. The service is great. All their veg patties are great. Black bean patty & Garden patty were very nice. It made the burger tasty. Their french fries are nice as well. They also have fridge magnets on sale. Quite cheap $3 each.

Came here for dinner after we left Yosemite and I'm glad we chose this restaurant. The wait time said 30-40 min, but we waited less than 20 min for our food to be brought to our table. Burgers were excellent and very fresh! fries were exactly how I like them. I was also surprised at the extensive menu! they serve a lot of different foods besides burgers.

First time and everything was outstanding, we had the steak dinners with choices of 3 sides, we did garlic cheese bread, baked potatoes, and salad bar (Instead of fake bacon bits, they had REAL bacon 😳! Omg I want to go back just for that salad bar!). I had coffee and beer and my wife mimosas… All I can say is WOW! It was all phenomenal and the whole restaurant, bathrooms included were super clean, every single time a waiter or waitress passed they offered to refill my coffee, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, if I could give them 10 stars I would. Steaks were perfect btw, we eat ours med-rare and they were perfectly med-rare. The chef before making our steaks asked if we wanted them “warm or mooing” we chose mooing and it was just absolutely perfect, hard sear, yet rare, masterfully prepared. 10/10

After 7 hours of Hiking in Yosemite, this meal was incredible. The service and vibe here is small town diner. It doesn't get any friendlier. Got the mushroom burger, carne asada burrito, tots and ranch to go along with it. The burrito was exceptional and the tots were perfect. The mushroom burger was also given high praise.

Came for dessert and we were blown away by huge portions 🍨 as well as the vintage record albums all over the walls and ceiling. Cool, 50s diner-esque, fun vibe for a small-town gem. Staff was all mostly friendly, except for the girl bringing out the orders. She dripped ice cream all over my husband and just shrugged and said "yeah, it melts fast" as she walked away. Not a big deal, but odd she wouldn't offer to even clean up the now-sticky table...she's young so there's still time to learn 😀

Best place to stop for food on the way to Yosemite! The staff are friendly and hospitable, the place is clean, the atmosphere makes you feel like you’re in a movie, and the food is delicious. You can tell it’s real food made with real love.

Really cute, odd little diner. Their decor is old albums floor to ceiling, including the ceiling with a haunted house setup in their parking lot. Their food was decent, what you’d expect at any reasonable diner. Their staff though, they serve with a kindness you don’t encounter anymore. Really impressed with their staff and the business on the whole.

Food here is fabulous and the service here is great It open so early we can come here to eat before going to Yosemite park And also ordered Chicken club to go and eat at the park is so good The service here is so great waiters and waitresses are so friendly and helpful We eat here 3 days in a role and never once disappointed. Well, the bathrooms are small ( but very clean ) and that's the worst negative that I can think up about Happy Burger Diner. The staff was enthusiastic, the food great, the 🍌 shake was one of the best I've ever had and the place was tastefully decorated with old LP album covers, darn cute as a matter of fact. I had the garlic Burger which is served on garlic bread and extra-large ( I took half on the road) the fries crispy and enough of them to satisfy. Just past normal lunch hour when we got there they took down the 30min wait time and put up the 15min sign and it was less then that. Outstanding service, the tab was hefty but that was for two quality burgers, 2 fries and a 2 great shakes, you could do the same at Red Robin and not get the same flavor.

If someone tells you this is the best place to eat on your way to Yosemite….you better believe it!! Is super tasty, try the garlic burger. Their size is similar to Whataburger but fresher and I will say tastier. Make sure you go and check the plate inside too! Is so cool!!!

During a road trip through the USA, we passed through the small, charming town of Mariposa, which is already well worth a visit on its own. For lunch, we chose the Happy Burger Diner and wow, what a decision. Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. On top of that, the service was incredibly friendly, the fries were insanely good, and honestly… what more could you ask for? As a nice bonus, they even have a self-serve refill station for drinks, something you sadly don’t see very often anymore. The atmosphere is classic, rustic, and purely American diner style. If you’re into that vibe, this place is an absolute must and definitely a stop you shouldn’t miss when visiting Mariposa.

Happy Burger in Mariposa is an absolute joy. The menu is huge, and I was genuinely impressed by how many vegan and vegetarian options they offer, including Impossible burgers. Their staff was courteous from start to finish, and the quality of the food was ridiculously awesome. The atmosphere has that perfect old‑school diner vibe that makes the whole experience even better. Loved it, and I 100 percent recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

I absolutely loved this diner! Came to hike in Yosemite Park and came downtown for the day to check out some old museums and an escape room. Stopped by here for lunch and had a blast! The staff was super sweet people and an old school feel that was nice and comfortable. My friends n I had the burgers of varieties, all great! Loved everything about HBD from the staff — friendly and they can hustle! The burgers! Huge and one of the bes. Decor — lots of old albums, local news, posters cover the walls and ceiling. Visitors and locals mix it up. Ordering is easy. Step up to the counter, tell the lady with a smile what you’re craving. Maybe a beer too. Select your table and soon a friendly server emerges from the kitchen — hollers your name and voila — you’ve got yourself a damn fine meal. The place is popular — worth the wait.

This place is a sleeper. Should be featured on diners, drive-ins, and dives. We had no idea what we were stepping into when staying in Mariposa on our trip to Yosemite, but this place was it. Although we had a limited selection from a huge menu, what we got did not disappoint. Having garlic bread as the bun of a burger (The garlic burger) is genius. The fries were crispy. The beer was cold. The atmosphere was a vibe. We did wait a bit for the food, but it was worth it.

What a truly authentic and delightful diner! It is so clear as soon as you enter that the owners put so much heart, soul and sincere thought into every part of the diner. From offering a10% discount to seniors 55+ and veterans, to every dish being cooked from scratch--they advise you that your food will take between 20-30 minutes to be served--but it is so worth the wait!! They use excellent quality ingredients--I had a Denver omelet and it had real fresh cut cubes of ham and green and red peppers, onions and two cheese. Absolutely delicious! The roasted potatoes were crispy and fresh and the sourdough toast was exceptional. Even the coffee was excellent. Finally, the service was awesome and the staff were super attentive and friendly. I will make a point of coming back many times to come! Thank you!

We decided to check this place out during our visit to Yosemite/auto camp stay near by. My kids and I enjoyed to local vibe and character of this restaurant. Food was great for diner standard. Hamburgers and onions rings were generous and not to be missed. Milk shakes were favorite of my kids. I had the fish taco. On the smaller side - only one taco per serving but I ended up getting two to make it a meal. The service can be slow so plan ahead - our order took about 40 min to come out - around 7 pm. Definitely recommend when visiting Mariposa area.

This is one very busy diner. They even have a sign hanging up that says your order will take 20 to 30 minutes. At least they’re honest about it. They have a great menu and food to match. The Decour is a little different with hundreds of album covers plastered on the ceilings and the walls. Gives you something to read while you’re waiting for your food. You order at the counter and then find a place to settle In. Pretty soon the server will be walking around calling your name to serve your food. This is the kind of place to see you and triple D.

Old style burger joint, Seat yourself at a table and read the menu and place your order at the counter. The night we went in it was busy with both eat in and take outs. We had 3 different burgers all of good tasted and quality. Two downsides one was I spotted are order waiting to come to the table for maybe 5 minuets, they have so many ceiling fans running the food goes cold very quick. It was a nice place to eat. Well, It's a Small Town Diner and I loved it! They have a huge menu and large portions. Prices are reasonable. It's everything I want in a restaurant. Nothing fancy just a lot of good food at a reasonable price.

Cute little dinner with retro vibes! Loved how the staff was super sweet and constantly updated the wait time when they got an influx of people. Burgers were okay, needed a bit more seasoning and their fries were alright. The best fries are the seasoned curly fries, recommend 100%. We tried the bacon burger and garlic burger. Bacon burger was great, but garlic burger was missing the fried onions and mushrooms so was a bit disappointing. Definitely checkout if youre driving back from Yosemite and need a quick bite to eat in a cute town.

We were heading out of Yosemite, and wanted a place with a good salad. I saw a sign for this diner and decided to stop! The food took about 30-40 minutes to come out, if we knew that before we ordered we may have went somewhere else but we were so hungry so we stayed. The food was the best we had the whole time we were in Yosemite! I got the grilled chicken sandwich with a side salad, and my boyfriend got chicken tenders & a side salad. We also got chili cheese tots. We made our own salads from the salad bar, which had lots of options to add! Definitely worth the wait to eat here. Biggest Menu in the Sierras! Those guys are always awesome and super chill, I can't afford to loke actually eat, eat there, right now, but ingonand get French Fries, and some hot tea and thats manageable on the wallet for me.

It's good burger. We stopped for food on our way to Yosemite. Huge serving and reasonable price! So worth it.

The food was good but the wait was incredibly long and there was flies everywhere. Also I found the Bill Cosby poster to be distasteful.

Brought the family for breakfast and was glad to see the food is of high quality, and front desk staff was friendly. Ambiance has a retro, cool look. But beware, when they say it's a long wait for the food, it's a *super* long wait. The sign said 30-40 mins but we got our stuff (party of 4) after 1 hour. And it wasn't just me, a few other tables around us had folks quite put off by the wait. Totally get the "we cook to order" but to have customers wait that long for regular old pancakes and some eggs has me scratching my head. So I totally recommend this place, as long as you don't mind waiting 20 mins longer than what you would normally wait at a similar diner. To the owners - your food is fantastic, and it sounds like there is an opportunity to streamline so your customers are satisfied and you'll probably serve more customers each hour: win/win.

It’s a diner so I didn’t expect anything too fancy! We walked in, the area by the front is small but has several booths. You order at the front then sit down where they will serve you the food. My friend got the big breakfast with the ham option. She liked it. I got the happy hash which I did enjoy. Some basic breakfast but good! Filled us up before hiking in Yosemite park $20 for breakfast and a drink for each of us, little pricey for what you get. There was also a ton of large flies inside the restaurant which was a turn off.

Stopped on our way to Yosemite National Park for a quick meal. Food/Taste/Flavor: 4/5 - Happy Burger was cooked well and delicious. The sharpness from the raw onions offset the savoriness of the meat and cheese. The Mushroom Burger was great as well but got a bit queasy with all the cheese and mayo. They gave a huge serving of fries with both burgers but they were a bit dry and lacked flavor Ambience: 4/5 - loved the decoration as its covered wall through ceiling in vinyl record covers. It's feels like a very homey restaurant but it does feel a bit older and not as clean Service: 5/5 - very nice and friendly Value for price: 5/5 - lots of food for the price. Friendly service, lots of seating, reasonable wait. Nothing super special but a good stop if you need a bite

Nice little retro diner with pretty good food. Decent burger and really lover the thick fries and ranch. Cute atmosphere and really nice staff. Big portions. Be prepared to spend at least $15 not including drinks.

OMG whataburger!!! I ordered the Happy Burger and I’m certainly happy. The soft Brioche bun is awesome. The patty is thick and juicy and the crispy crinkle fries were amazing. I will size down next time to a junior burger since I don’t each much. But if you’re hungry and looking for delicious food and shakes, check out Happy Burger.

On the way to Yosemite we were looking for a decent restaurant with an EV charger nearby. This area had one. Plugged in my car and walked a couple of minutes to have lunch here. The inside looked quaint and just like movies :-D We had ordered a sub sandwich (vegetarian) + salad, chicken ranch wrap + garlic fries + soda. The food tasted good. Veggie sub looked pale on the outside. Most likely it wasn't grilled on all sides. They have items clearly marked vegan and vegetarian. If you are strict vegetarian be sure to ask it at the counter as it seems all the vegetable oil is replaced with tallow (animal fat). Wasn't a fan of that but I didn't have any other option at that point. Overall it was a nice spot on the way to Yosemite and i may come back here again for a quiet meal while charging my car.

I honestly have came to this joint a few times and this is my first time that I'm reviewing it. As my past experience have been great! The burgers have been juicy and tasteful 😈. But this last time i decided to try their nachos and it was a big Let down for me. The ground beef seen like the cook just dump the seasoning on it, the refried beans were dry and not tasteful oh and the chips felt kind of old like they been seating outside for days. The kids enjoy their sandwich blt and their cheeseburger and fries. The fish and chips were not good at all. They were burn on the outside and not cook on the inside. The mac n cheese was like it was from a box with some shredded cheese on it. My over all review is that I'll come for the burger only! Cheeseburgers are yummy for my tummy on this place 😈😈

The Happy Burger Diner is a friendly small town establishment that I would suggest survives on tourist coming to and from Yosemite National Park. As such, their prices are really high and I found their food to be mediocre at best. My Reuben sandwich wasn't hot, the meat was tough and the bread fell apart. My cousin and I had 2 of those and 2 shakes + a tip totaling about $60. They try to be all things to all people which makes it harder to satisfy anyone. As I said, the service was great, but they could do better.

Neat little stop with friendly service. We got the happy burger with fries. Both were ok. Nothing outstanding. Average price.

I didn't like the breakfast burrito. It was too oily and heavy on the meat.

I gotta say the place gives you a whole vibe of a real Diner, however there was an off point for us since waiters could have had a better more clean aspect and that drastically changed our perspective.

Coming down from Yosemite today. I called in an order to pickup and was told it would be 30 min. By the time I came down it had been 20 min. I waited 20 more minutes in the parking lot for my food. Still no food, I went inside and they told me it would be another 15 min. Very very slow service. Not sure why they take so long to make two burgers and one order of fries. I did get my shake very quick, but food takes forever. Definitely not a FAST FOOD place if you need something quick on a road trip. I hope they can improve and I'll have to stop by when I have at least one hour to eat.

Found this place on the way back to San Francisco. The staff who took the order at the cashier’s area were not friendly at all, they acted as if they were in a factory and not in a restaurant. Did not explain the menu, and kind of angry with the customers. First impression was not pleasant at all. The food is freshly prepared, but the hamburgers had no flavor at all. Service is questionable, waitresses was in a hurry and after food was served we did not see her again. The place has ample sitting area and parking, it has a vintage look like a real Diner from the 80s. and has some really cool vibes. Prices are not reasonable for what you get, in my opinion they are overpriced. I probably would not return and not recommend, customer service for me is a must and priority to keep happy customers. They only accepted cash BTW which is very inconvenient too.

Honestly, used to love this place but the service and quality has gone down significantly within the past couple. Customer service is absolutely horrible and it seems like all the employees don't want to be there, especially the cashier. The food is now unbelievably expensive. You can either get a side of fries/salad or a drink with your meal, not both. Which is ridiculous considering everything is over $20. For 3 people I paid over $70! Unfortunately, will not be back because the food isn't worth the price or the rude employees.
