Came in for lunch around 11:30 on a Tuesday. The patio was starting to fill up so we chose a table inside. Lots of interesting choices on the menu, it was hard to pick one. I chose the fried chicken and husband chose the Harvest panini. My dish: The fried chicken pieces were huge. There were 3 of them. Nice crunchy outside and the inside was tender. Just the right amount of honey drizzle...enough to tickle the palate and not be coyingly sweet. The kale was seasoned with something that made it really good and my only suggestion on the kale would be to cut/tear it into smaller pieces. I meant to ask what seasoning was on it, but forgot. The mashed potatoes were good, but was the least flavorful of the dish. The dish is filling - took 2 of the 3 pieces of chicken home for dinner, which heated up nicely in the air fryer. Husband's dish: very fresh and flavorful with a good variety of different vegetables. Especially liked the flavor of the roasted red peppers. He would have preferred a different bread to do panini style but the sandwich was really tasty. The sweet potato fries were done really well...his word: "perfect". They were hot, not greasy at all and delicious. We think it was a Chipotle Mayo served with it...and it was good. Our food came out rather quickly but it seemed like maybe the front of the house was understaffed...I think there were only 2 servers and it got really busy. However, they worked together very well, each helping out at each other's tables. We will definitely be back...so many dishes we want to try here!
Visited Vic's for breakfast with someone very special on Wednesday late morning. Brianna was our waitress and the service was super, very attentive, professional, and provided service with a smile. The food was delicious, was serviced hot and timely especially since they were busy. We enjoyed the outdoor seating too. Will go again when I return in future visits to Martinez.
Best food around here in Martinez. The music takes you back to your childhood, which is awesome! With the breakfast, EVERYTHING is delicious, perfect taste and portion. Just had a burger that was very good but I could not eat it all, lots of meat. HIGHLY recommend Vics! You will not be disappointed. This is coming from a picky eater.
A truly DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE ~ Attentive, Fast, Friendly Service and Delicious Food! I dined at Vic's for the first time last night (Taco Tuesday) and the whole experience was truly delightful. I ordered the fish tacos which I was hesitant to order, because I'm not really a fan of fish. But with encouragement from our server Teresa I did ~ with no disappointment, they were DELICIOUS! Everyone, there were 3 of us dining together~ ordered something different and we were very pleased with our meals, as well as our server and the over service. We will definitely be making Vic's a regular place to dine and try everything on the menu. Thank you Vic's!
The girlfriend and I had brunch here and it was delicious! She had Kirsten's Burger and I had the Country Fried Steak and Eggs with an English muffin and country potatoes. It tastes as good as it looks. The potatoes had a delicious seasoning on them and were not overcooked. Same thing with the steak. We are planning on doing a weekend visit for the Corned Beef Skillet.
We had a fantastic brunch at Vic's. The outdoor dining space was large and well spaced. There were a number of heaters. But, really, it was all about the food. We had waffles and pancakes and two types of benedictions (normal and bacon) and they were all fantastic. The kids and adults are all very happy! We will definitely be back!
Pattio has an inviting atmosphere, food is good with a few vegetarian options. I have been here a few times and would come back. For brunch come early or expect to wait (no brunch reservations and the whole party needs to be present to be seated).
Used to eat lunch with my Dad at Vic's when it was downtown I believe. It was back in the early 70s. Pork chops were the specialty. Good to see they're still around. Food was delicious back in the 70s along with DiMaggio's...
We Love Vic's!! We ordered the Christmas meals this year for pick up and it was Amazing. We had the prime rib and the honey chicken with sides. All of the food was delicious and we have leftovers even though our family tends to eat a lot. Thank you Rosie , Lauren and everyone at Vic's for making our family meal delicious, easy and memorable. It was a home run.
Solid all around, with good menu options, friendly service, and nice portion sizes for the money (although may feel expensive for lunch, but high quality, treat yourself). Couple non sugar seltzer or soda options would be nice, but that is nitpicking. Mostly go for brunch or lunch, definitely worth a visit. Side patio is nice if not too windy. Parm is good, brisket is good. Harvest Panini. Try them all!
Cute place, beautiful patio, great food and awesome service! Can't go wrong with this breakfast/brunch spot!
Vic's is a hidden gem of a breakfast spot. Never heard of it prior to getting a word of mouth recommendation and was blown away how good it was! The ambience is great in or outdoors (really made great outdoor seating that doesn't look like a temporary fix) and the staff couldn't be friendlier! Highly recommend the waffle sandwich with tots and extra gravy on the side....it will change your life 😋
Owners of the Hideout in Lafayette, Vic's is just an excellent extension to the experiences we have had at that restaurant. Will take photos of the food next time, but just great grilled cheese and tomato soup. The black bean burger will make a conversion to a vegetarian painless, just excellent. They serve breakfast until 2 pm daily. My wife had the biscuits and gravy and enjoyed the meal as well. The only reason I am giving a "5" star review is due to the staff. Polite, responsive without following up too much. Great experience, great food, and great staff. My new favorite.
Ok if I could give 6 stars I would!! It was a Saturday so brunch was in full effect and we had to wait around 30 minutes. It was worth the wait. I had Biscuit and Brisket (no photos too busy enjoying the food) and a margarita. Seriously everything was delicious!! So flavorful. Service was great. They sat us at a larger table so we wouldn't have to wait longer and our server was attentive and fast. We're definitely going back for dinner. And I want to check out their wine spot in Walnut Creek. Oh they have seating outside with heat lamps and inside too. It's family owned and you get a sense of pride from everyone! Go.
Have not had a bad meal here yet! I am super picky, and have high standards. Service is good (more on the European style, IYKYK), and food is great! Has a parking lot in back, but that does fill up quickly, especially for weekend brunch. I bring my "City" friends here, and all leave quite pleased.
Almost feel silly leaving yet another review for this place. It has enough already! Great vibe, good place to chill and eat. There is a limit to how long you can sit and chill, because, boy, you're going to want to stay. Good food and service. Family owned and felt like a guest.
Our first time here. I was just trying to take it in. We went on a Sunday and got the brunch menu. I got the Pinche Loco and it was great. I wish I got the server's name to give him props. The right amount of attention without asking me if I need anything a million times. The salsa was good but I wish they had different levels of heat. I'll be back.
Fantastic spot. I'd usually rather choke than get the salad instead of fries but that is most certainly not the case at Vic's. So fresh and the dressing was fire. The sandwich was really good too. Worth a visit.
Cute atmosphere, we sat indoors although there's a large outdoor patio area. We both had burgers, which were delicious. A little on the pricey side for a burger & fries. (about 18.00 plus 2.00 extra for EACH additional topping like bacon, mushrooms, etc) Service was excellent.
This is one of our favorite restaurants when we opt to dine out. 98% of what we have ordered has been outstanding. Service has been excellent as well. It's cozy inside, and the outside patio is nicely heated when needed. Can be a little pricey, but we tend to go here when we want a little extra. Cheese bread every time. Blackened salmon is perfect.
We took our family of 7 to Vic's in Martinez for lunch. Everything was delicious and the service was fantastic! We had 2 burgers and 2 cheese sandwiches. We also has the brisket panini, chicken parm panini, and the fried chicken sandwich. We had fries, potato salad, tomato soup, and sweet potato fries for sides. Everything was great and the kids loved what they ordered. We did have to park around the corner on the street but we were less than a block away.
2nd time going there. This time for lunch. Very delicious food and staff very accommodating. We got there at 1:30 got seated. They close at 2pm to get ready for dinner. We didn't get rushed out. They told us to stay take our time, sip our wine. Left at 3:45 pm without having to rush. The staff & food are exceptional!! We will return.
Waffle Sandwich. Delicious with thick gravy! So filling - Had not eaten breakfast so I ate the entire sandwich and 70% of the tater tot’s which were fresh and crispy; will not need dinner! Good service, food came out quickly and hot. Easy street parking and there is also a small private parking lot.
I wish we could add an additional five stars for Vic's!! This place rocks!! Wonderful breakfast and lunch items that are serious comfort food! The customer service is superior and the owners treat you like family everytime you show up. I can't say enough about the food..just delicious! Great ambiance and a fantastic addition to Martinez!! Love Vic's and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Wow, there needs to be a place like this closer to home haha. My wife and I found this hidden gem while looking for a brunch spot to eat. We gave Vic’s a chance and MAN, we were wowed. We are frequent customers and we always eat something different every time we visit. Their dishes never fail. There is so much flavor in every bite and you cannot resist but to take another, and then another, and then another! To add to this review, I want to mention the five star customer service. It is a family friendly atmosphere and the owners make an effort to greet every table in the room. There is one down side to Vic’s, we have to cross the bridge every time we want to eat here haha. Thank you Vic’s for the wonderful dining experience! Keep up the good work.
It's Mother's Day and what better way to celebrate but to have my kids take me to Vic's. I've never been and the menu is extensive so we decided to order a number of items and share. I always order waffles but I had to have the Hipster toast. My kids ordered the Harvest frittata and the Bisquits and Brisket. This is honestly the best way to experience this place is to share. And don't forget the orange cranberry mimosas! A great place to celebrate any special occasion!
Just went for our first breakfast at Vic's and it was literally the best breakfast we have had since moving to the East Bay 10 years ago. Best sausage gravy I have had here. I don't usually care for tater tot's but these were fantastic, no residual taste, not over cooked just pure perfection.
I love Vic's food. I had their appetizer "Brussel Sprouts" and it was delicious. I had their Braised Pork Shoulder. I liked their sauce and the veggies on the bottom. Their burgers were good portions and looked delicious. They had a friendly staff. Highly recommend this local restaurant.
WOW! So this was our first time eating here and i must say all the reviews were absolutely on the spot!!! Place: cozy..Staff: super friendly and educational. I like that the owner came up and talked to us and suggested that the chef had a certain way on how to eat the chicken and waffles...YUMMMMMY. I had the Corned beef skillet and it was different and truly delish!! We will definitely be coming back here. It felt like home and the staff is family.
First time at this brunch spot. We ordered the Morning Glory, French Toast and Eggs Benedict and couple of mimosas for a total of $100 which isn’t the worst for a brunch spot but it is on the pricier side. Regardless, the customer service was superior and we felt like elites. We came in when it was pouring rain outside and they sat us outside right away since we didn’t want to wait for an inside spot. They put the fire places around us and made us feel cozy. The food was good in quality and drinks were delicious. Would definitely be back.
The food was awesome the service was great and the young man asking about coffee refills was promt, polite and has a knack of knowing when your cup needed a refill. I ordered a French Toast combo. Everything was perfect. They could save some money asking folks if they want fruit as there was a ton of fruit on the dish of which I ate none of. Bacon was perfectly cooked. I will be back now that I have found this little gem.
This place is pretty busy on Sunday, but luckily the wait wasn't too bad, it is TOTALLY worth the wait! They do not take reservations on Sundays, so come with an open schedule if you are here on a Sunday. They originally told us an 1 and 1/2 wait time, so we walked a few blocks down the way and perused the local shops, only to recieve a text that said our table was ready (30 mins). The text said they would hold our table for 5 minutes before they would give it to someone else, but we were about 10 minutes walking distance away, so I called them and they said they would hold the table (thankfully). The food was fantastic! It really hit the spot! I had the morning glory which was essentially a breakfast panini complete with eggs, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, ham, and a pesto aioli...everything I could want and more for breakfast, and it came with a side of tater tots. My friends ordered waffles and cream, country fried steak with country potatoes, the Whole Plate, and French toast. They also had guava and orange&cranberry mimosas, while I had a virgin Bloody mary that was their house blend, and let me say...I had to slow down because I couldn't stop drinking it!!! Highly recommend if you are in Martinez to stop and eat here and later enjoy the shops down the street to walk off the tasty calories.
Fantastic breakfast got here shortly after opening at 9 a.m. service was fast but as we noticed it's popular as it should be. We had yet another phenomenal breakfast. I don't usually have biscuits and gravy. I am always let down by the gravy. The gravy was so good and the biscuits were nice and fluffy.
Dinner at Vic's with some girl friends to celebrate two of our birthdays! Vic's is always good, but JB and team made it extra special tonight. We shared an order of some of the best brussel sprouts ever, three of us shared a Marina salad (which was brought out in individual bowls for each of us) two of us had the honey fried chicken, one the blackened salmon and one the pork chop, and we ended the food portion of the night with the Churro Waffle (fabulous!!). We had brought one bottle of wine with us, and JB's suggestion of a second bottle of Hitching Post was spot on, with a final bottle of sparkling rose to finish our meal (Thank you JB). We were so happy, we already booked another reservation at their sister restaurant, the Hideout Kitchen in Lafayette. But will be back at Vic's soon too!!
The food was amazing. I tried Kirsten's Burger (a black bean patty) and my boyfriend had the Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs. Both were delicious and wonderfully presented. Staff was nice and environment was great. Can't wait to come back and try more meals!
Vic’s Martinez – A Hidden Gem with Waffles to Die For If you ever have to go to court (or even if you don’t!), Vic’s in Martinez is the perfect spot to stop afterward. Their waffles are seriously to die for. And for those who are gluten-free—not by choice, like my sister-in-law—they have amazing “hipster toast” that she absolutely loves. I’m so grateful I got to visit during their last weekend open. It was heartbreaking to hear at the end of our meal that they’re closing after Mother’s Day weekend. We’re crossing our fingers they’ll reopen after the building remodel. If not, I’ve heard that The Hideout in Lafayette is owned by the same folks, so I’ll definitely be giving that a try next!
The food was amazingly delicious, the server was very friendly and made our experience great. We ordered the mascarpone toast, shrimp and grits and the honey fried chicken. All were very delicious!! We sat outside in the heat, which had beautiful scenery, lots of seating and SOOO much shade. Very pleasant. We didn't have our kids with us, but I noticed they had crayons available. We went on a Saturday evening and there was plenty of parking. We would love to eat here again!
Saturday morning brunch was most excellent at Vic's last weekend. The friendly staff and delicious food / drinks were just right! The patio had a really great ambiance 🤠
Great brunch place, lot of outdoor seating and a menu to go with it! They have a few locations, if you’ve been to the hideout in Lafayette it’s by the same owner so you can get a sense of what the food is going to be like. The fried chicken sandwich is really good and would recommend it but everything is was also amazing and would recommend!
One year later and Its still as great as ever! The new dinner service is amazing! Ashley was our server and she was GREAT! Make reservations & take the whole fam. Obsessed is an understatement! Everything I’ve tried on the menu is delicious. Down home comfort food, and lots of lighter options. Service is always above and beyond. I’m so excited they have their liquor license now and will hopefully be opening for dinner soon. Love love love.
First timer here, this place is delicious! Finding a place that serves Loco Moco in Martinez felt like finding a diamond in the ruff. The French Toast was thick and flavorful. They also have tater tots.. I will most definitely return in the future.
Very tasty food and the brunch when I was there and I got the waffle sandwich which I honestly advise against not to say that it was bad it was pretty good but the other sandwiches were definitely better. I believe it was called like the morning Glory or something that my mother ordered and that was very tasty. The ube pancakes are extremely aesthetically appealing but taste comparable or worse to a regular pancake My wife got the chorizo tacos those were really good We ended up ordering the churro waffles which were extremely tasty The service was very nice only note that I'd say is that it's decently pricey although I'd say it's worth it just something to keep in mind.

Waffles only had a minimum of fruit on them And they do not have sugar- free syrup so being diabetic, had I known I'd have ordered something else. Otherwise nice place.
The food was cooked perfectly. The burgers were as good as they looked and the outdoor seating was comfortable and beautiful. We did have to wait a long time to get our check and I ended up having to go into the restaurant to ask for it, but the food is worth the inconvenience. The prices were high, but average for the type of dining experience we had.
Great food but they do get busy. And have trouble keeping up. During times they don't take reservations use the Yelp app to get on the waiting list before you get there so you aren't just standing around waiting. The outdoor seating has fire pits at the tables so that's nice in cool weather. The menu is varied and I asked for things I didn't see on the menu and it was no problem. Tho the storefront is on Pacheco the parking and entrance are around back. Check out the online menu and dining times and see what works best for you!
Cute place, decent food and drink, rough service. Our waitress was in a funk or ambivalent to us being there. She acted real irritated in having us there. The outdoor seating was cute and the sandwiches and fries seemed decent.
I had the salmon Benedict, and breakfast burrito. Benedict dish was great! Burrito was ok, everything was fresh and tasted good. I ordered it with grilled chicken, because I don't eat red meat, or pork. So glad they were accommodating. If it had some type of breakfast meat in it, I would have been great. Wife had corned beef, AGAIN. So it must be goood!! Son had the King sandwich, and he liked it. Daughter, and mom had regular breakfast, with pancakes, and they had no complaints. Drinks were good. Mimosas, Jungle Juice, and hot chocolates were ordered, and came first 😋 👌
The food here is really delicious a bit on the higher price point. We have come here as a family and for take away. The food is always fresh and really high quality. The atmosphere is okay it’s on a busy street sometimes I like the indoor seating better to not hear the cars driving by. The patio is also a good place to sit just a bit noisy due to being right off Pacheco but other then that great food and service.
The chicken fried steak breakfast was amazing! The gravy is delicious. Good coffee. Seating is limited inside but they have an outdoor setup. Great and quick service. The hotcakes had good flavor but were way too dense and I was unable to eat them.
Had dinner here at Vic's, the food was quite good. Prices were high, but not compared with similar places in the area. Drinks were on the expensive side, and prices are not posted. They were higher than I would expect for the quality. Food portions are huge! We all loved our food. 3% add on for using your credit card makes me think twice about returning, though, to be honest. Usually places that do this are more budget friendly. Vic's is a splurge.
Customer service is what saved this review. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti and meat balls. But my steak was over cooked and the char gave it a very burnt flavor. Mashed potatoes were excellent as was the vegetables. We split an appetizer of Cheesy garlic bread that was the perfect amount of gooey, greasy, and crunchy. And to finish off the meal the manager gave us a magic bar on account of the steak, which was just ok. But as I said at the beginning the effort put in by the owner/management was phenomenal to give you the best experience.
Had brunch here in a quiet area near downtown Martinez. Has customer parking, indoor and outdoor seating. Service was very nice and efficient. TV indoor with a Soccer game on. Food was very good, we also had guava mimosa. I think the orange or pineapple probably would have been a better choice.
Good food nice staff kinda pricey but it was fast and warm can't beat that and there was but many folks there so that was nice. Go salmon plate and grilled cheese panini with tomato soup.

I've been going to this spot for almost 3+ years now. The food is very good, however the service could be a lot better: 1. Asked to heat up decaf coffee that already had creamer in it, they came back with hot caffeinated coffee with no creamer. 🤦🏼♂️ 2. I noticed a rigid stick in my pulled pork silog that would've been a pain to crunch down on, notified the server and they said it was rosemary. It wasn't a sprig of rosemary, but an inch-long smooth stick with no rosemary leaves on it. 3. When we had the bill about to pay with card, we were notified by the bald host with glasses, "Just want to let you guys know it's an hour and a half dining limit." Like don't you see us with the bill about to pay? We're trying to leave but you ain't taking the bill . There are other items I could go on about but I'll leave it there. Overall the service felt passive aggressive towards the customers and could be a bit friendlier to be completely honest.
Came here for lunch, ordered the fish and chips. The fish was so salty it was inedible! Placed an order to go for my husband. His chicken had a ton of breading that was uncooked around a small piece of chicken. Very disappointed!
Went with a group of 7. First time and have been wanting to try Vic's. I ordered the honey fried chicken. First issue was the small plate my dinner was served on, not a regular size dinner plate. I had to request a side plate to unload some of my chicken to be able to get to the mashed potatoes, which were yummy. The chicken was tasteless and dry. The sautéd kale was chewy and inedible, way past its time. This was priced at$22!! No bread or butter and for the prices should've had something while waiting for dinner to be served. Returned and loved the clam chowder and bread!
Good service and atmosphere, but basic tasting food. I've been here a few times, and it's consistently generic. With the high prices and basic flavor, it's slightly off-putting. Update - Gone a few more times since the review. The food has gotten better. I had the Loco Moco with the single patty, garlic rice, and pickled onions. It could use a second patty, but it was for sure tasty. Yesterday, I had the The Momo. It has chili, tater tots, 1 egg, and some avocado on the side. That's been the best plate so far.
Ordered two steak salads for lunch on Doordash. Steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare, but was very chewy verging on tough...it really needed to be tenderized better. The bell peppers and onions were deliciously roasted and the spring greens were very fresh, but they automatically substituted green beans instead of asparagus because they ran out of asparagus (before lunch!)...unacceptable substitution, especially when I paid extra money for extra asparagus AND I have gout.
The food was great, but the service was lacking. Orders are placed via QR code, and my companion’s meal took an unusually long time, making it seem forgotten. I also ordered a $3 iced tea, which had no free refills, and my jungle juice, though delicious, took several minutes to arrive. Despite it not being busy on a Thursday morning, service was slow, and the staff rarely checked in. I’m not sure what I’m tipping for if they don’t provide refills or regular service. I’d consider returning if they offered physical menus, free refills on tea, and better service.
Well, what can I say? It's a nice, friendly place to eat, neighborhood ambiance. The food? The fish and fries I ordered were, to say the least, disappointing. Fries were fine but the cod had an oder indicating it wasn't fresh, or fresh enough. The chicken sandwich was apparently fine, as we're the sweet potato fries. The service was quite good up until our food was served; the waitress didn't appear again until we flagged down two other employees requesting the check, @ 10 minutes later. This could be a one-off, but we won't be back.
I was really excited for my first time visit. The check in process is a little chaotic to say the least. Very small, very busy and very loud. The table behind us was so loud, we couldn't even have a conversation at my table. Pretty interesting and creative menu. I chose chicken fried steak with tater tots, scrambled eggs and a biscuit. The eggs were cold on arrival, so I skipped those. The chicken fried steak was good. The tater tots arrived several minutes after the rest of the meal was delivered. Thankfully, they were HOT. Staff was attentive to beverages. Everyone was friendly. Unfortunately I got food poisoning on my very first visit. I will give them another try as I've heard so many good reviews about their food.
Nice spot, away from downtown. However, watch out for being overcharged due to some ridiculous inflation. Excuse for the price of eggs going up. Your bill will be a few dollars more without a warning. I. Very pleasant atmosphere at the back patio. Has a few fire pits to relax by. Has some menu selection of the healthy choices to pick from. Fresh and interesting side salads to accompany the Harvest Scramble that on the menu was $16.50 and charged $18.50. Prices are a bit on the higher side. Pleasant service was provided by a gentleman running the entire patio, unlike host and waitresses were slightly away. Good place to give it a try – once.

Went for brunch on Sunday Feb 12 with some gal pals. We walked up to the back patio and the hostess who saw us immediately led us to our table. The atmosphere was nice, menu seemed reasonable. We all ordered our food and received most things as expected although slow. When it was time for the bill we noticed that every single item had a $2 upcharge. We ordered 5 dishes so that's a $10 upcharge. I asked the server as to the upcharge and she stated it's due to the egg shortage. Every dish had a $2 top up. She stated there was a sign on the way in somewhere on a door/wall. We told her we never saw it and said it would make sense to add a note at each table. The server sent over who we assume is the shift manager. The lady came over and proceeded to state that there is a sign on our way in but sometimes it falls down due to the breeze. We said the simpler solution was to add a note to the table and to let the guests know when you are taking the order. Her reply to us floored us. She said she can't spend all day telling each client about this $2 charge. SERIOUSLY!! That is exactly what your job is. Additionally your responsibility is full and appropriate disclosure of what you are charging. Insufficient and ambiguous disclosure = FRAUD. I or my friends will never visit this place and make sure not to recommend it. Please see receipt and menu pics and note nowhere on the menu nor anywhere else on the table (would cost pennies to do) was there a disclosure of this charge. Apparently, we are all to look at the walls of these establishments as we walk in for key messages. Don't go on a windy day or you will miss the message! Ps- They also precharged what I assume is a credit card fee(cc fee) prior to printing the bill so we could consider cash payment.
I have been coming to Vic's for years and have always enjoyed the food, large portions and great service. Times sure have changed. New owners? New management? New cook? First... Paying $40 for two breakfasts and being served the food on a plastic plate with plastic fork and knife is not acceptable. The eggs were dry, and the gravy was barely enough to cover the biscuits. I am sorry I didn't take a photo of the meal and post it. This is what I would expect at a McDonald's at breakfast time... especially the plastic plate and fork. Oh... and the OJ was something out of a condensed can with water added. I will never come back!
