Amazing experience! ❤️ My husband and I had dinner at JoJo Restaurant and absolutely loved it. The food was delicious — juicy chicken, perfectly cooked salmon with light mashed potatoes, and incredible desserts. The pavlova with passion fruit is a must-try, and the warm chocolate cake stole my heart 🥰 Beautiful interior, unique plates that make you feel special, and a place you definitely want to come back to. Highly recommend!
Fresh flavorful pea soup augmented perfectly by Parmesan cream - didn’t see how it could work when I ordered but it was perfect. Warm seafood salad featured very fresh, perfectly cooked seafood in a delicious dressing. Sea bass with pesto and melt in your mouth potatoes - fantastic. Duck — amazing. Pea salad - I love peas and this was yummy. Can’t wait to go back on next NYC trip.
A Hidden Gem on the Upper East Side – A Truly Delightful Experience in New York. Dining at JoJo on the Upper East Side was a warm and unforgettable experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the charming ambiance and romantic, homey design, especially on the second floor, which feels like a cozy, elegant escape. The service was both professional and genuinely friendly, making us feel right at home. What stood out most was the exceptional flavor of the food—every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We started with the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh and perfectly complemented by crispy lettuce. For mains, the chicken dish was a revelation—I rarely order chicken, but I’m so glad I did here! The filet was also perfectly cooked and flavorful. We finished the evening with the carrot cake, and it was nothing short of fabulous—moist, rich, and just the right amount of sweet. The wine and cocktail selection was excellent, and it was nice to see that the crowd consisted mostly of locals, which speaks volumes about the restaurant's consistent quality. JoJo strikes a beautiful balance between upscale dining and the comfort of a home-cooked meal. We will definitely be coming back—this is a place worth revisiting. Just a tip: make a reservation, as it’s understandably a popular spot!
Jo Jo was our spontaneous choice after I unsuccessfully tried to book a table at 10 other locations. I decided on an early dinner at 5:00 once I found a table. We adjusted our plans and arrived at the restaurant, which is located in a charming neighborhood and occupies a small, cozy building. We were seated downstairs but later checked out the upper floor, which has windows and a bright, airy vibe. For a casual lunch with friends, I’d recommend the cozy corner tables upstairs — perfect for relaxed chats or fun gossip. For our date night, however, the downstairs seating was ideal. The eclectic and stylish atmosphere, enhanced by beautiful lighting, made it feel intimate and special. I truly admired the use of monochromatic tones and the thoughtful design of the space. Our dining experience was wonderful! The ambiance was warm and inviting, blending coziness with elegance and making us feel instantly at ease. The menu offered a fantastic variety of dishes, and everything we tried was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. I loved the warm shrimp salad, and the crunchy, spicy tuna roll was a hit. The pasta with mushrooms had a unique twist thanks to its seasoning, and the carrots, served as a garnish, were a delightful option for those who prefer more vegetables. Although I lately skip dessert, I couldn’t resist the chocolate flan with a molten center and ice cream on the side. And since legend has it that Jean-Georges himself invented it, we couldn’t argue — it would’ve been impolite in his house! The service was outstanding. The staff worked together as a team — one waiter kept our glasses full, another ensured the table was spotless, and a third presented and served the dishes beautifully. Their teamwork was impressive! Bravo! Whether you’re looking for a casual meal with friends or a special night out, Jo Jo is a fantastic choice. I can’t wait to visit again!
My husband and I dined at JoJo many times, and it continues to be one of our favorite go-to spots, along with other Jean-Georges restaurants. As someone who mostly eats organic food, I truly appreciate that JoJo emphasizes mostly organic, clean, and locally sourced ingredients. This commitment to quality highlights the restaurant’s focus on freshness and sustainability, making it an excellent choice for anyone who cares about what they eat. The warm, casual atmosphere at JoJo creates an inviting space for any occasion—whether it’s a relaxed date night or a casual dinner with friends. The service is consistently exceptional, with friendly staff who always make us feel welcome. Overall, JoJo delivers a delightful dining experience that we look forward to enjoying time and again.
This was by far one of my favorite meals. I had the burrata and the duck. I was incredibly impressed by how perfectly everything was curated. My duck was cooked perfectly and full of flavor; I had one of the best chocolate chip cookies ever. It was such a great atmosphere, and the service was tremendous.
I’m really impressed with this place! The small plates are beautiful, each one different, and the decor is elegant, just right for someone like me👸🏻 The appetizers were flavorful, though the chicken wasn’t the best. But for a restaurant week menu, there’s not much to complain about. The service was great, I’ll definitely be coming back to here
The tuna tartar is amazing! We didn’t get the photo but it was the best one we had! Its a bit spicy but we love it so much. The pancake batter is also amazing. I really love the texture. The burger is also great but we the lobster are not as amazing for us. The place is very chic and nice. Overall it was a nice place for brunch and we would defenitly come back for the tuna tartar. The service is also great and very responsive
Very polite staff. They were kind to accept us despite being late with 30min. The vibe and interior was very calm and luxurious, pleasant to the eyes with warm colors. The food was delicious. I highly recommend their lamb and beef tenderloin. The tuna tartar is good, too, but a bit spicy for me.
My wife wanted to take me some place special for my birthday. Jo Jo is definitely special. You have probably walked by this restaurant several and wondered what it was like. From the moment we entered the restaurant we were greeted by the friendly staff. The restaurant decor is very nice. Once we were seated our waiter Alex introduced himself. He was very professional and knowledgeable about the menu and answered all of our questions. I started the meal with the Warm Shrimp Salad, Tender Greens, Avocado, Tomato, Champagne Beurre Blanc and my wife had the Roasted Baby Beets, Goat Cheese, Aged Balsamic Vinegar. They both were exceptional. We than ordered the Crispy Skin Organic Chicken, Lemon and Olive Oil Potatoes, Fried Onions and Potato Skins and Roasted Black Sea Bass, Carrots, Lemon-Leek Emulsion and yes they were exceptional as well. Of course we had to have dessert which was Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (enough for 2) and the Puff Pastry Rhubarb Tart, Marzipan Ice Cream. Both were a great way to end a very good birthday day dinner.
One of the best meals and dining experiences I’ve ever had. The restaurant atmosphere is perfect for a chill night. Great cocktails and small plates to share. The tartine is classic. Amazing burger and duck breast. You genuinely can’t go wrong ordering anything here. The servers are knowledgeable and super friendly and the chefs are incredible.
Very nice but not amazing place. Has a lot of classic Jean Georges dishes. The duck was the better than the filet and the sea bass. Appetizers were all very good. Portions are small. Nothing really stood out. Very nice atmosphere. Service was good but they couldn’t get us out desserts in time for our show.
Great and cozy atmosphere but also a bit crowded. Their sourdough was pretty amazing. The rest was fine but not impressive
The food here was very good. The salmon was top notch and cooked to perfection. The upper floor was just lovely being inside a townhouse. The service although very nice, was slow, where they checked in on us way too much in the beginning and then disappeared for an hour with no update. It's August, but it was uncomfortably hot in there. I enjoyed my meal very much, but wouldn't rush back.
Had brunch here. Pancakes and salad were good, the crispy skin chicken a bit plain. Tuna tartare was closer to a healthy taco and definitely my favourite. Service was pleasantly personal. Would recommend, but only for parties up to 4, as that is the maximum capacity for tables directly by the window, by far the nicest in the restaurant.
Quite a popular place for brunch - one day in advance all the indoor tables were fully booked. Our favorite was the broccoli and kale salad - the vinaigrette dressing was very appetizing and overall a salad brought to another level. The pancakes were pretty good as well - fluffy and not too sweet - just wish they were not served that lukewarm and some butter or cream or jam would definitely make them shine. The avocado toast was very mysterious - ascetic was the word that came to mind, just avocado and toast and not much flavor, and you were not appealed to have one more bite. In sum the food was decent but I’ve had so many brunches better than that.
Disappointed. Service was very slow, took too long for each course to arrive. Soup came out with the entrees. Eggs Benedict were cold, English muffins barely toasted, the plate looked a mess. The egg frittata was just 2 fried eggs garnished with herbs. All served with ordinary French fries. They were out of the two desserts we were interested in ordering. Atmosphere was lovely but does not make up for poor service or the quality of the meal served. Would not rush back.
I wanted to love JoJo’s brunch, but I couldn’t quite get there. The atmosphere is lovely, nestled inside of a renovated townhouse in Manhattan’s UES. Jojo feels like you’re going to your friend’s house to eat, albeit a fairly affluent friend. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night, or like many at the restaurant when we went, a group of friends. We ordered the frittata with crispy potatoes, burrata with fig and toasted sourdough, warm shrimp salad. I’ll start with the highlights. The warm shrimp salad is heavenly, an absolute must try. A great plan on textures with crunchy and creamy, the shrimp is perfectly cooked and smothered in a beurre blanc sauce, the vinaigrette adds a nice bright acidity to balance the creamy avocado, and the dill provides a welcome umami. It’s an excellent salad. The burrata and gallete were both great, balancing sweetness and acidity well. I was disappointed with the frittata. It had the makings of a great dish, but missed the mark. The pickled jalapeño was excellent, but was too far between to add zip to the dish. The herbs were great, but not enough. I was left just wanting more of every component. It felt like a dish that focused more on presentation than execution of the flavors. The biggest miss for me were the crispy potatoes as many were under done. They had a beautiful golden brown crust, but that needs to be followed by a pillowy center that was supremely lacking. Highly disappointing. All in all I expect more from a restaurant Jean-George is putting his name to and my review reflects that.
Everything is good. I wish they would sit us in the upper floor. It is a good restaurant but more on the casual side. The dishes are in the pricey side. I expected a bit more from a Jean-George restaurant and from that price range. I ordered a salmon dish which is their special for Friday night. I think the dish is not good at all. It is like home cook dish.
It's not funny but funny in a sad way . One of the best meals I had in the 80s was at the Drake Hotel, when Jean Georges was the chef, with a group of my fellow staff from the River Cafe. We were blown away. It was so good. The last time I ate at JoJo was probably in the 90s since I'm rarely in the upper east side. But I've certainly been to other Jean George restaurants downtown and many of the places the Tin building. Hence my shock at some of the dishes we had the other night at JoJo. Pinky toe crab dumplings sounded amazing, but were thoroughly disappointing when it hit the table. It looked like a bowl of beige liquid. The lemongrass flavor was very one note and overwhelming. The dumplings were uninteresting. There was no garnish. Just a sad looking dish. The Greek salad with beets was almost worse. Any NY diner makes a more appetizing and certainly more generous Greek salad albeit without beets. It was flat and skimpy with an acrid dressing. Ridiculous at a restaurant of this "caliber" and cost to ask how a guest wants the fish done and then not cook it the way they asked for. For the record medium rare was requested and well done was how it arrived. My charred duck was indeed blackened but the skin was not crisp. It was flabby and inedible. The only decent dish was the chicken. Although the potatoes tasted briny which was odd, but may have been the intent. The waitress accidentally showered us with champagne which she was very apologetic for. It may have been a blessing since they comped the terrible appetizers as a nice gesture. It's crazy to me that a chef with such a great reputation let's his staff drop the ball on keeping up his standards. Oh, and the acoustics were crazy loud. So noisy.
