Enzo was amazing, made us feel right at home immediately on a busy night!
I stumbled upon this place while I was traveling, thanks to a friend’s recommendation, and now it’s easily one of my favorite spots in NYC. I’m so glad I found it! The atmosphere is amazing—it’s the kind of place where you just feel comfortable, with great food and coffee to match. Kudos to Rozanna as well! She’s always smiling and making sure everyone is having a great time. You can tell she genuinely cares about people. Can’t recommend this place enough!
Went to New York for the first time and let me say this was one of the best stops for a light bite. Their coffee is amazing, especially their seasonal pistachio milk. Definitely a must try! Don’t get me started on service, 5 stars ! Would definitely recommend, can’t wait to be back 🫶🏼
Really great place! The salami, cheese, and olive appetizer was super tasty. The wines were awesome too. Our server Lori was the best, really nice, sweet and paid attention to everything. Totally recommend!
Enzo was very attentive and also lovely service. Will be definitely coming back!
We love it, whether for coffee or wine/beer - it never disappoints. Everyone is so welcoming, especially Lori, and also Rozanna has served us couple of times- always very friendly. Best coffee and pastries on the UES. Highly recommended!
Imagine you're in Rome - but you're actually on lexington avenue. The wine, the italian snacks, the people watching. I go every week - what are you doing just reading this? Get yourself there for a taste of la dolce vita - without the air fare.
I love this place. So lovely and the waitress was amazing. So italian I am in love!
Wonderful place to meet up with friends for a coffee or to just read a book. Great place!
Love this spot! Delicious coffee & pasties in a cozy atmosphere. Shoutout to our server Enzo.
High quality pastries and coffee with excellent service. Everything is well prepared and the environment is welcoming and cozy. Highly recommend.
Feels like being in Europe at a pastry and sandwich shop. Service is great and very accommodating. Recommend for a quick bite or coffee/tea and dessert. Cheese cake is suoerb.
Great cafe in the upper east side serving wine, cocktails, and small bites. Must try the hot chocolate.
Food & ambiance were great, as was the service from Enzo!! Really enjoyed the bicerin & torta della nonna 😋
Great service and warm atmosphere! Perfect place to start or end your day! (Enzo is the best!)
Beautiful outdoor space especially if you seat at 91_street. You will enjoy in quiet your coffee. Excellent quality of coffee, I had and a lemon pie who also was good. Long time I had to enjoy a coffee with friend like this.
Such a cute neighborhood spot, Enzo was a great server!! Cutie wine bar
Loved the pastries and the cappuccino. The atmosphere was great! Wish the server would have checked if we needed something else outside but it was pretty busy. Will go again!!!
Favorite coffeeshop in the neighborhood! It gets busy in the morning rush but great place to hang out at, day or night. Zizi is the best!
It's my favorite cafe in the area. I love sitting outside here. But I would wish they would offer Matcha, too <3 I have some friends who don't drink coffee or tea, so they won't go with me.
My fav cafe in the UES! Hot chocolate, bomboloni, panino al prosciutto, and you have yourself a great afternoon ☕️ Enzo was our server!
Finally visited with a friend today after spending a few hours at The Met. Place was packed for late afternoon on a sunny Sunday. Tried the Shakerato, which was basically an espresso martini without the alcohol. Will definitely be back again. Great having a nice local cafe near my apartment.
This place is such a vibe! So cozy, elegant finally a cafe that doesn’t look like a pharmacy. Great staff and amazing cocktails. Will be back.
La Bomboniera is a cozy café in New York with a warm and inviting atmosphere ☕✨ Great coffee, delicious pastries, and a beautiful space perfect for photos 📸 A lovely spot to relax or catch up with friends 💛
I walked into La Bonboniera for the first time since they opened a few months ago and I was very impressed by the delicious latte that they made for me. This is the kind of cafe you could bring a date to and you’d impress that person by your good taste! The atmosphere is very welcoming and if you lived in the neighborhood, you Might want to bring your book or laptop and plan to relax, drink their delicious coffee and enjoy their selection of pastries.
A small corner of Italy, where you can feel at home whenever you feel nostalgic for Italy or simply want to eat something truly 100% Italian. The staff is wonderfully friendly, a very welcoming place full of good vibes. 100% recommended, here in New York it will definitely be our fixed stop to feel at home.
An Italian cafe by day & wine bar by night nestled in the UES is serving exceptional coffee, pastries, cocktails, and light bites in a warm, rustic interior. Theres plenty of seating for you laptop folks as well as outdoor tables for you people watchers. The vibes are definitely intimate and very cozy making it a true gem of the neighborhood. Not to mention the baristas are sweethearts & are enthusiastic about their craft, ensuring a perfect brew/pour. P.S. this spot is also walking distance from many museums and galleries! FEATURED ☕️iced americano, shakerato, latte ☕️almond croissant, chocolate biscotti ☕️torta della nonna 🍷rossini, bellini, limoncello spritz 🍷bresaola panini, salame e formaggio 🍷salatini, peanuts
La Bomboniera in New York, NY. Have you ever wished your local coffee shoppe turns into a beautiful wine bar at night? @labombonieranyc transports you to Italy by serving Italian savory and sweet treats along with the best Italian wine and espresso. The vibes here are immaculate-super cozy and romantic. The service was amazing too I can’t recommend it enough! Insta: @thehungrysw
Amazing spot for coffee, wine, and pastries! Loved the croissants and donuts, and their hot chocolate is simply perfect. Cozy vibe and friendly staff make it a must-visit in NYC.🥐☕🍷🍩
Really enjoyed spending an afternoon here with friends. We all had paninis, various espresso items, and a lovely lemon torte for dessert. I would definitely come back for a glass of wine or even a weekend breakfast. I also appreciate that they have a 1 hour laptop policy because I’m sure people will be tempted to just park themselves here for much longer, since the ambiance is so inviting.
The best neighborhood spot!! Great team, food and coffee. They especially love my puppy and bring her treats outside when we are walking by. Zizi and Holly are standing outside!! Love the personal touch. 5 out of 5 stars without question. Ps….. they have pistachio milk!!!
As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed. The culinary quality here is exceptional; I opted for Enzo’s recommendations, and both sandwiches were expertly prepared and full of flavor. The establishment itself strikes a perfect balance professional service paired with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Truly a standout spot. Will come back again
A cozy neighborhood spot with great coffee and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The pastries are delicious and the service is always excellent. Special shoutout to Zizi, Teodora, and Holly for being so kind and friendly — they really make the place feel like home.
Perfect, cozy cafe. Excellent, friendly service. Delicious coffee. There’s a reason this place is usually packed! To the waiter who helped me make a cool surprise happen today, thank you for your kindness!
I was there last week with my friend and we loved everything; the quality of food and drinks was the best. Our waiter Rozanna made our evening special! She’s the best! We will definitely come back next time when we are in New York
my friend and I stopped by this cafe on a rainy day and it was the perfect cozy spot to relax in. We got coffees and both the sfogiatelle and bombaloni with Nutella and they did not disappoint! Our server Enzo was also so friendly, helpful, quick and added to our wonderful time here :) thanks again!!
I had a fantastic experience here. The hot chocolate with panna was great!! My husband ordered bombolini and caffe latte and also liked them. The place is gorgeous and we had a nice date today. People are also nice and attentive. Will definitely come back again. We went on friday at 6pm. It was crowded but we only waited 5 mins for a table, maybe because it’s winter. In summer I’ve seen this place full.
This review is about sustainability! Thank you for providing such a cozy café experience, without single use trash and plastics. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean and fish, and over 95% of the plastic that we produce does not actually get recycled, even with the best of intentions. It makes me happy to find and support local businesses that are mindful of the New York City ecosystem, and our broader global one. I also find a for-here, reusable mug mix, dining in that much more welcoming and enjoyable. So thank you again for the wonderful service, delicious biscotti and cappuccino, and the trash-free experience. You are setting a great example for neighboring cafés and restaurants to hopefully follow suit!
One of the best hot chocolates I have ever tasted!! The place has such an incredible atmosphere, I never wanted to leave. The staff was also so sweet and accomodating when i was worried about my allergies. Me and my friends loved everything about that place, I can’t wait to go back!
I love this place! Surprisingly, we got a table in no time, given how busy this place was. Both the panini & sweets are really good! The coffee is flavorful & well done as well! It’s has the European charm, a mix o Italian menu and French vibes. A bit pricey, but given the excellent service and the overall atmosphere and quality, it is definitely worth it! 💯 recommended!
I went to this cafe to relax for a bit. Ordered coffee, sat quietly, and the place felt calm. Staff was polite and not intrusive.
Came in for a quick coffee but ended up having an even better experience. Was met with smiling faces as soon as I walked in the door. I asked for a cappuccino and the person helping me gave me two other suggestions of things that would go great with the coffee. I’m so glad I took their advice!! Will definitely be back!!
We stopped here for refreshments with our little girls before seeing a production at the nearby 92nd Street Y. The hot chocolate was extraordinary!!! However, the chocolate cake (torta caprese) and Italian cheesecake were surprisingly disappointing.
no designated place to wait for your coffee if you just want to grab & go, especially during busy hours. staff is sort of all over the place and not very helpful. coffee itself was 6.5/10
Rosa was great! The salami were not- tasted like they were from the supermarket. Good wine
Great food and drink! The cioccolata calda con panna is wonderful, especially around the holidays. The place is cozy and cute, but can be uncomfortable when crowded. The service needs some work. We pretty much had our food and pastries thrown at us. It wasn’t even really that busy. The waitress was rude, frankly. I hate to call this out, as anyone can have a bad day, but it’s important that people leave happy with their dining experience and I wasn’t happy with the service I received. I would definitely come back, because the food is great, but I hope the service is better next time.
I was so happy when this cute neighborhood café opened—it has such a cozy atmosphere, and I really wanted it to become my everyday spot, my “third place.” But unfortunately, the way they treat regulars, especially around their laptop policy, is really disappointing. I wasn’t asked to leave, but the server kept coming over again and again, asking if I needed anything else—even after I told him I already had my coffee. Eventually, he started pointing out the laptop policy, even though the café was half empty. It felt more like I was being nudged to leave than anything else, and it made the experience uncomfortable. The female servers in the morning are generally kind, but some of the male staff could really improve their attitude. It’s a shame, because having loyal customers who come almost every day should be a good thing. I’ve started going to Mia’s Café instead. It may not have the exact ambiance I prefer, but the staff are so warm and welcoming. They’re genuinely happy to see me walk in—and that kind of hospitality makes a big difference. From other reviews I’ve read, I’m clearly not the only one who’s felt this way. It’s unfortunate, because this place has potential—but without a more thoughtful and friendly approach, it’s hard to feel at home here.
I’ve been coming to this café for over five months and first fell in love with it during the winter. The hot chocolate, the Italian-inspired coffee methods, and the overall ambiance truly stood out. In the beginning, the service was warm and welcoming—the waitresses were always friendly and polite, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Over time, however, the staff has shifted to all male waiters. While they are quick and efficient, I’ve often found them to be standoffish, disinterested, or even a bit rude, especially when it comes to handling payment or when guests are ready to leave. On several occasions, I’ve felt that if you’re only ordering a coffee, you’re treated as if you’re not worth their time or tips, which creates a disappointing atmosphere. This pattern has made me feel anxious about leaving rather than relaxed enough to enjoy the space. In hospitality, the way guests are welcomed and cared for is what encourages them to stay longer and order more, and it feels like that’s being overlooked here. I’ve also noticed that the staff tends to favor female customers with noticeably better service, which feels outdated and unfair. This café still has so much potential with its ambiance and quality drinks, but the service really needs to align with the experience they’re trying to create.
I’ve been here several times and the food and coffee are amazing; however, the service is very poor. There have been several unpleasant experiences at their Upper East location, including nasty looks from the waiters and clear differences in how customers are treated.
We had the unfortunate experience of bothering the two people here for a coffee. While the coffee was good, the wait staff was obviously bothered by our arrival and pretty much ignored us for most of the time. We were lucky to have been served and luckier even to have had the privilege to pay. We too are European but, this was at a whole new level.
I tried coming in here with my service dog and I was immediately halted by all front of house staff. I communicated with them that he is a service dog and I needed him for emotional support. I have my documents on file, all the staff proceeded to treat me rudely even mocked me regarding my medical condition. Zizi who’s name was the only one I picked up. Was very rude and unprofessional along with all staff (front of house) on Sunday, December 21st @2:00 were all as well
