Avis sur Sullivan Street Bakery New York
WOW. Someone brought bread and bakery items to our thanksgiving and WOW. The double chocolate cookie, the sesame bread. Just wow.
I ordered the avocado sandwich and the oil cake. They were just right for breakfast, both in taste and portion size. The staff were very kind. I’ll definitely visit again. Thank you!
Sullivan Street Bakery has serious the best sliced pizza in New York City. Was absolutely delicious. The coffee is amazing too. A cappuccino is a proper cappuccino (less milk and more foam to make the coffee taster stronger). This is now my regular after discovering it a few weeks back. You must go.
Locals bakery doing bread and focaccia/baguette. As an Australian, I appreciated the excellent coffee. Cosy atmosphere. If I lived in NYC I’d be returning. Excellent!
A perfect breakfast stop in Hell’s Kitchen. We grabbed breakfast here before a full day of walking around NYC, and it was exactly what we needed. Great pastries and quality juice without feeling rushed. The space is simple and calm, the food is consistently good, and everything feels thoughtfully made. It’s the kind of place that locals rely on, which is always a good sign. Ideal for a relaxed start to a busy New York day.
Stumbled across this bakery by accident, ordered pizza pieces and coffee which were 1st rate 🏆 very tasty and yum on both counts, had to try cookie which was divine. Staff were helpful and music was great. Seemed to be a well patronised stop for many.
This is hands down the best focaccia bread I’ve had in New York, crispy on the outside, perfectly fluffy on the inside, and always fresh. Everything here is made with care, and it shows. The space is clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great spot to journal or unwind in the morning. The staff, especially Spencer, are warm and friendly, adding to the overall experience. A true neighborhood gem.
Excellent place to have breakfast lunch or a snack.I love there coffee and paisteries. The pizza and filone bread is amazing but all of this would be worthless without great curtious customer service and Sullivan street bakery does have it 👏👏bravo ! .I personaly recommend this clean location to all 👍👍
Stopped by for the second time while my car is being serviced at Lexus. This is a very nice cozy bakery with comfortable seating. Great looking selection of pastries, breads and sandwiches. Today I had the scone with chocolate and an Americano coffee. Came with a small biscotti. Both were very good. Lots of take out business and many locals seem to sit in and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. Several people doing business on their computers. Bathroom is spacious and clean. Definitely will go again.
A lovely bakery with delicious baked goods and a nice seating area. They have space inside and a few tables outside. Bomboloni was super tasty, got the chocolate one, and it had a perfect amount of filling and wasn't overly sweet. Seasonal pastry was even better, made with almond flour tasted slightly like marzipan and had figes, so yum! Coffee is good as well. And their foccacias look amazing, too.
We tried Sullivan street for the Romans style pizza. The tomato slice was good but could not stand up to the real item (not to be that A hole but the real roman version is just better). My wife enjoyed the mushroom slice but found it underseasoned. However, the Sicilian slice with breadcrumbs, olives, etc. was excellent and I would have happily eaten two or three of those. They might consider heating some of the slices or offering that as an option. In some cases, it would probably make a big difference.
This was a lovely unpretentious bakery to have breakfast in. I had the breakfast sandwich, which though my picture of it is unexciting, was delicious, with rich Gruyère’s cheese, sausage and egg in a flaky croissant. I also had a cup of tea, which came from a really nice tea brand called “In pursuit of tea” (which aptly I then pursued to try and find that brand to buy to take home whilst I was there, and then never found). I wish I could have been there longer to try the interesting looking pizzas and pastries, but I did take home a lemon ring doughnut, which even when eaten the next day was fresh, light and just sweet enough, and not greasy, a truly perfect doughnut. Staff were super friendly and there was a nice atmosphere, though probably the seating area could be a bit cosier. Overall, really outstanding baked goods, would definitely revisit.
A fabulous addition to my bread-adventures, I braved a walk through times square (which would be terrifying in any conditions) in horribly aggressive wind I swear to god it was like getting run over by a pack of bulls but anyway I survived and I made it and I followed the festive Sullivan Street flag into this fine establishment. I was greeted by a rush of warm, foccacia scented air and an array of beautiful baked things. All of their bread sounded great but I went with the Truccione! An interesting choice since I'm one person and I think it would feed a family of twelve (GREAT price considering that). I'm still working my way through it. It's nice and airy inside, soft, nutty, with a great crust. It's making things like this sandwich you see here possible. I'm over the moon with it. Excited to try more of their breads
West Side Diamond in the rough 👍👍 Sullivan’s has fresh baked breads, pizza, sandwiches, & wine. The breads will likely be the highlight since it is sold to restaurants in the area. It is a quaint spot with a hip crowd. PROS: 1) quality & freshness 2) good lunch options 3) wine & Mimosa is a nice touch 4) established on a quiet street 5) outdoor seating CONS: 1) uncomfortable chairs & stools 2) $5 for a donut. Ouch
Zucchini was good. Soft and the dough was very chew and nice. The vanilla filled donut like pastry was a delicacy. Very rich and creamy with lots of filling. The environment in the store was very chill and relaxing. But I wish that when your are food is served, it is at least on a place so that the customers can comfortably enjoy their food. Instead of munching it with our hands and the paper bag. especially the soft eggs with prosciutto on brioche, which come highly praised. The bakery opens daily at 8 a.m.
Usually love this place. It’s my go to place for a latte and a light lunch BUT I don’t know if I’ll be going back so soon. Today Spanish music was blasting. The waitress did not really cooperate when I asked if she could lower the volume. Only after there was more personnel, was the music fine.
Heavily yeasted white breads twisted into different shapes which are artfully described by the staff despite all being baked from the same dough and thus tasting the same. The bread all sits too heavy on the stomach and thus is very much a throwback to a time where people didn't care about what they ate or what they baked. Likewise, the coffee is dark and dirty.
Delicious baked goods, breads & pastries but I was disappointed the last two times I got sandwiches. The egg & prosciutto sandwhich is very tasty but for $9.50 it barely had a single thin slice of prosciutto. I find a lot of eateries are really price gouging & giving customer the least amount of food possible. The same with the avocado & egg sandwhich, tasteless & barely any eggs. It seems as if they use a single tiny egg with a mediocre amount of avocado. The roast beef sandwich is now made on a round small bread rather than a 6 inch baguette. Inventive ways to make things smaller, give you less food but still charge $12.00 for a sandwhich that is reduced in size. I was also charged around 7 dollars for 3 small pieces of toasted multi grain bread, butter & marmalade but half a loaf of bread is the same price. This is the last time I will be purchasing sandwiches at Sullivan Street Bakery & making them myself at home with a decent amount of ingridients. The sandwiches are not worth the cost although most of their options are tasty.
