**Brussels Airport – Arrival Experience** This was my first time landing here from Singapore. I flew with Singapore Airlines, and in my opinion, this airport is one of the best in Europe. After leaving the aircraft, it didn’t take long to reach the immigration area. However, I would suggest adding more officers around the immigration counters, as some passengers had limited English proficiency. After clearing immigration, since I had booked a rental car, I was able to easily find the signs leading to the Sixt rental counter. The process was smooth, and after completing the documents, I could quickly find the parking area to pick up my car. My suggestion for airport management is to add more food outlets or restaurants in the arrival area, because we were very hungry when we arrived in the morning. It would also be great to have more Asian food options. In terms of facilities and security, everything is very complete. The signage is clear and easy to read. Overall, I give **Brussels Airport arrival area a score of 9.5 out of 10**.

I like this airport — it has everything you need. A basic airport with good facilities and easy access. I was here only for a connecting flight, and there was no additional control in between; I could just pass directly and wait for my next flight.

This airport is impressively well-preserved, offering a clean, organized, and efficient travel experience. Facilities are maintained to a high standard, with spotless restrooms, clear signage, and comfortable seating areas. The blend of modern amenities with careful upkeep of original design elements gives the space both charm and functionality. Staff are professional, and operations run smoothly. Whether you're arriving or departing, this airport reflects a strong commitment to quality and passenger comfort.

I fly for more than a decade and I still think this is one of the best airports I've ever seen. It's clean, smooth, interesting and there are a lot of seats in the gates. This is one of the few airports I've flown where bathrooms are regularly clean! Gates are well-organised too, I can even sit down at the gate when I have to take a crowded flight! It's full of great shops and comfort areas. There's a big variety of food, souvenirs and more in the shops! I recommend you trying some sushi at the Japanese mini market before leaving the airport after you disembark the plane; it's so nice!! The lounge is bright, comfy and well-organised and food is amazing too. Terminal B is my personal favourite, it's spacious, comfy and easy to navigate in. When my flight from here to Helsinki was diverted and turned back here, the organisation of the staff in that situation could have been better, but they gave us an amazing 4-star hotel as compensation. It's pretty well-connected to the city, you can just take the train to Schuman which is in the core of the city or you can take bus 12 Express to Trône/Troon which is a great option too. I recommend flying to Brussels Airport, you will have a great experience there.

I have been using the Zaventem Airport few times and I never had any problems. The security is fast & smooth, there is very good choice of restaurants and shops for every budget, you can also find lounges for leisure and buisness travellers, the airport is clean and modern and there is excellent connection with city center of Brussels.

Small, but efficient airport. The seamless connection to the train is also appreciated. The check in and security are a breeze. Seating arrangements are also nice. The rocket that took tintin to the moon is here. Boarding is often by walking, which is more environment friendly than the bus.

Brussels Airport is a vast and generally clean hub that offers a pleasant travel experience. The sheer size of the airport means you'll have plenty of space to navigate. A standout feature is the abundance of excellent chocolate shops, a true highlight for any traveler with a sweet tooth. "The Chocolate House" is particularly noted as a top destination for indulging in some of the world's best chocolate. While the airport can be busy, especially during peak times, planning for an early flight can help you avoid the crowds. Overall, Brussels Airport is a great starting point for your journey, especially if you're looking to stock up on delicious Belgian chocolates. I also love their water for cause idea. Make sure you are prepared to pay for excessive baggage… because you know…. You can never have enough chocolate!

Brussels Airport is generally a pleasant and well-maintained airport, with several features that make the travel experience smooth and comfortable. The terminal is clean throughout, and the toilets are large and spotless, something you definitely appreciate on a long travel day. It’s also very accessible, with excellent connections via train, bus, and tram, making it easy to get to and from the city. There are plenty of vending machines available, and water can be purchased for as little as €1, which is rare for airports. Staff were kind and helpful, and I really appreciated the effort put into making the airport feel welcoming. There are great facilities for both kids and pets, including a nice grassed area with a fake tree for dogs. The duty-free section is solid, and the Tintin shop is a highlight, offering some really fun souvenirs and bags. However, there were a few areas that could be improved. At one point, the toilets near my gate were being cleaned, and I had to walk nearly 10 minutes to find another one—not ideal when you’re about to board. Prices throughout the airport are steep, even compared to other major airports. The signage can be a bit confusing, especially for first-time visitors, and the food options in the B section are quite limited—especially late at night when many places close early. There were also slight delays with Brussels Airlines, though nothing major. All in all, Brussels Airport offers a clean and mostly smooth travel experience, with some unique touches—but it could definitely benefit from clearer signage and more late-night amenities.

Nice airport, a lot of shops and good number of restaurants serving unique cuisines! Shopped around a bit, got delicious Belgian chocolate to take back to the USA. The decor is beautifully done, seasonal and great music too. A beautiful way to say hello abd goodbye Belgium!

Brussels Airport may be smaller than some major international hubs, but it offers a fantastic travel experience. The airport is well organized, clean, and easy to navigate, making connections and departures stress free. Security and passport control are efficient, and there are plenty of dining and shopping options despite its size. The staff are friendly and helpful, and overall, the airport provides a smooth and pleasant journey. A great airport for both short layovers and longer stays.

Good airport for flights within the EU, quite comfortable and just the right size. However, if you have to go through passport control as a non-European is HELL, the queues are absurd. If you are travelling to Europe as a non European save yourself the headache and fly to Madrid instead.

Super slow in clearing immigration secuirty. The efficiency is like third world country or worse and we almost missed our flight. Everyone in the queue (taking different airlines) we checked with also told us the departure time has passed while all of us are still queueing 🤦🏼‍♀️. Luckily the airline we have chosen is a responsible airline which they ensure all checked-in passenger board the plane before take off. I overhead even the local ground staff admitted that the delay was on immigration. For those who plan to depart from this airport, pls arrive at least 3 hours in advance of your flight to check-in and clear the immigration customs at least 2.5 hours in advance.

Small, efficient, and overcrowded. It’s taken us 40 minutes from queue to pass security checks. Officers seem to work professionally but I think it's not enough with the passengers

A horrible airport that has grown too fast in constant search of increasing revenue. Security staff are often unhelpful (to say the best), and the waits at security can sometimes be extraordinarily long, including for intra-Schengen flights. Once past security, and if you still have time left, Terminal A is quite nice. But often there is not much time left, so its just a rush to your gate. Following the reply from the airport to my review, unfortunately the interminable wait at security is not a one off but a regular occurrence.

Always takes extra long at the immigration for all passport line, with waiting time going up to 2 hours as well. How can they be so inefficient for eu capital airport. Edited - so after the reply from brussels airport I went through the 1 star reviews, while all talk the same thing about understaffing at the immigration and emigration. These seem to have started 6 months back . I have been flying in and out of belgium and I experienced the worst queues in December of 2025. Before this even in September October, wait time was long only at the immigration at around 1 hour max ( guess). But 2 hour wait this time was frustrating. Interestingly before the standard reply of brussels airport was- thanks for feedback this helps us improve and now it is -you can complaint to federal police directly. Not sure if these feedbacks are relayed back to the responsible authorities and the burden is just put on the passenger? Compared to other international airports- think new york and delhi, they employ fewer officers at the immigration/ emigration. If you are taking an international flight outside of eu- consider sitting on front seats near the exit, try to get out of the plane earliest and no washroom breaks in between. Otherwise airport has okay- no option to fill water bottle after emigration, so make sure to fill water bottles before, at water station located on the left after security check or keep 1 euro handy for water at airport. Really feel sorry for all the shops at the gates B where passenger dont to go because all their time goes in the emigration. Security check line is fast moving. No problems there.

Overall the airport is ok, but annoyingly takes time. Pros: + convenient location, so you can reach Brussels in like 15 minutes and size of the airport; + staff are also ok, didn’t happen to experience any rude behaviour, etc. Cons: - The main one: CRAZY lines for passport control for “all passports”. I came from Tokyo yesterday and I haven’t seen such a long process for passport checks in a long while. Usually it takes 15-30 min. In Brussels I spent 1:30 to exit the airport after my flight. ONLY ONE booth for “all passports” was open, not corresponding with number of passengers arrived. Today I am departing from eu zone again. Again long and slow line, but 3 booths are open. - Consequently, baggage claim was complete mess. Overloaded lines, since people were stuck in passport check. Conclusion: arrive EARLY, especially for non-EU flight (at least 3 hours and proceed to passport check asap). EU flights have much smaller line. Expect to stand in line. The access to the airport and navigation are no problem though.

The worst of all I've been to. Avoid if possible! It took me 3 hours of standing at the immigration. The airport staff already distributed water and cookies for everyone in the non-EU passport.

The only airport in Europe where bags take routinely between 30 mins ( at least) to 60 minutes . When you don't have luggage issues then you are blocked for 30 minutes on board after landing because the airport just sends two shuttles bus for disembarking .... This is quite bad when you land at 2350 and loose precious time . To me customer satisfaction or western standards are not a priority for this airport. Too bad .

Very bad experience with Brussel Airport procedure. Came 3.5 hours earlier to do my VAT tax refund and at the same time we have sufficient time for our check in. But the whole VAT process took up almost 2 hours with the queue and staff that are not helpful and they are not even updated to electronic proceed which we can find in Korea, Japan etc. We have to manually queue for the stamping process and dropping it off at the mailbox (not knowing if we will get our tax refund back). And they separate their stamping with processing with other currency exchange shop (which they do process immediate if your tax refund is 500 euro and below that the staff that told me). Those that are 500 euro above have to be done by mailing. Upon finishing our VAT refund , we have to queue to do our check-in which is really overcrowded we literally have to queue for almost 2 hours which made us to missed our flight. Knowing we have so many people queuing they are understaff in their custom counter. And no staff was there to man the queue and people start pushing and cutting the queue. Please be aware for those who are departing via brussel airport. Really bad experience. If I have a option to give zero star I would. BAD EXPERIENCE AND DISAPPOINTED WHICH THEIR SERVICE.

Horrible, disorganised customs clearance and unhelpful ground crew. No clear signs showing the immigration clearance counters. Just displayed "B" gate, who knows that's where the customs clearance counters are. Ground staff were not welcoming and not helpful at all, even aggressive to the crowds. We checked in 3 hrs at the airport, but due to the disorganised airport layout and festive crowds, there was a super long queue at the customs, we told the ground staff that our boarding already began, they simply offered no help at all, not even trying to expedite to allow those time for boarding to clear the customs first. And for EU passport holders travelling with non EU passports holder can joined the EU queue too. But when asked multiple times at this female ground staff, she simply said no way, we had to continue to stay on the "All Passport" queue which was horrendously even much longer than the EU queue. Then after we asked another ground staff whom seemed to be kinder, he told us to join the EU queue, whereby we found many other EU and non EU families with younger kids were on this queue. Then saw at the customs counter, the officer shouted at a mum with a young kid. What a horrible airport and staff.
