Avis sur Sushi Enya Pasadena
Bar seating is great experience but you can’t order cut rolls only sushi sashimi and handroll which is great for us anyways. They have interesting/unusual menu such as squid tempura. Sushi comes in interesting flavors.
Delicious sushi. Every single piece was delicate, fresh, and melted in my mouth. Skip the rolls, the nigiri are the real stars of the show. Putting a fresh new shine on authentic standards. (Almost too fresh--I wanted the mackerel to be more salty and fishy.) Their daily sake recommendation was so tasty too--bright and warm without being sweet.
Some of the best oysters I’ve had in LA! Overall good place, and I definitely recommend it. It’s pricy, but so worth it. We chose to sit at the “bar”, which meant we weren’t able to order sushi rolls. But getting to see the chef prepare your food in front of you is a great experience!
If I could give 6 stars I would! This is by far the best nigiri and sashimi I've ever had. It's clear there is an uncompromised level of care and sophistication with the ingredients they use. The types of fish we ordered I've had dozens, if not hundreds of times before, but they have never tasted as good nor had such a delicate texture. While the menu is relatively pricey, its evident you are getting exactly what you pay for with each and every delicious bite. The Maki was also delicious and expertly prepared. A massive roll skillfully packed and cut into 15 thin, perfectly bite sized pieces. Service was fast and friendly, and they have an omakase menu by the sushi bar (where if seated, you can't order Maki rolls). A definite must try for any sushi/ seafood fan.
Sushi Enya is my husband and i’s favorite sushi spot. We come here every other month and order way too much. Everything is so fresh and delicious. They have all my favorites (halibut, snapper, mackerel, uni). The staff is wonderful and always very accommodating. Can’t wait to go back next!
I am probably not a great judge of sushi, but I enjoyed our visit to Sushi Enya a lot. The sushi was hands down the best I ever had, especially the albacore belly - food shouldn't be this good. Their servers were very nice to us too, and answered all our questions and helped us order. My wife and our niece really enjoyed the lemon roll, albacore fried onion roll and chef's #1 roll. My favorites were albacore belly sushi, bluefin tuna sashimi and yellowtail sashimi. We went there without any reservations, and waited outside before they opened. Parking wasn't too difficult. Overall a great experience, hope to visit this place again once we are in the neighborhood.
Sushi Enya is a casual yet high quality Japanese restaurant. The restaurant is minimally decorated. A few propane-powered outdoor heaters was clustered on the side. The open kitchen, well, is a working kitchen. I made my reservation online and they only had “Experience” which was Omakase, charging $200 per person. I could call or walk-in for non-Omakase. I sat at the Sushi Bar and was served by a dedicated Sushi chef for the entire dinner. He was very professional, serious, and explained every dish. Other waitstaffs were also very attentive. Overall, it was a wonderful dinner. This has become my favorite Japanese restaurant in Pasadena.
This place is fun. When you walk it you're greeted by the entire staff. All the servers are very nice. We tried so many different sashimi and rolls here and they were all fantastic. My favorite roll was the 911. They have a great selection of saki and some awesome beers I've never seen before. They had no problem seating a party of 6, we waited less than 15 mins on a weekend night. Great place for sushi, I will be coming here again.
I still daydream about Sushi Enya from time to time when I think about a premiere omakase experience. We have eaten here a few times. The first time was a la carte and we weren’t able to try certain things that you would only be able to try at the chef counter. It was still a pretty good meal, but this place excels when you trust the chef. They have raised the price over the years, but it is still one of the best sushi places in the San Gabriel valley and just as good as places you would find on the Westside.
We came here for omakase on a Wednesday in mid April 2022. There's 90-min free parking in the public structures. Didn't expect too much but had a great time. The food was excellent. The omakase was about $180 each person for the smaller one. Because there were so many courses anyway, I didn't think we'd need the extra courses to get full. We were right, we were so bloated by the last couple of courses. Every dish that was brought out came pre-seasoned so you don't have to dip anything in ponzu or soy sauce. You're actually encouraged not to. The chef used a mix of lime juice, you, and other flavors of the sort to bring each dish to life. I would highly recommend this place if you like prefixe menus like Sugarfish. This place will not disappoint. We didn't even need to make a reservation, we just spontaneously decided to have dinner here.
We originally planned to take out but upon getting there they told us they don't do take out but that they could serve us inside, even though we got there 25 min before closing on a weeknight. The host welcomed us in, as we walked by kitchen the chefs greeted us enthusiastically and happily out loud. It was awesome! Made us feel special. We ordered a Vegas Crunch & Tiger Crunch roll. The food was very good not overly sweet or over-riced. Try your roll with chili oil or even spicy mayo, really delish. I'm glad we came here.
Gorgeous place. Beautiful people, amazing rolls. Has to be one of the best rolls I've had. The Chef #2 was delicious and perfectly executed.
Came here last Saturday. Sushi Enya is great as usual. This time I ordered some pricier items hence the price, but my friend was pretty full with her rainbow roll and oysters for about $40. I'm very happy that the sashimi platter came with 6 types of fish, unlike other restaurants that gives you a bunch of pieces from just 2 kinds. It is very well worth it. I also order stripped mackerel, caviar scallop, and wagyu. They're pretty interesting to try.

I went to Sushi Enya recently and loved it so much. The sushi was super fresh and everything tasted amazing. The service was excellent — very friendly and attentive. The vibe was cozy and perfect for a nice dinner. I’ll definitely be back! 🍣✨
James was an amazing server! We ordered 5 rolls and each and every one was absolutely amazing! Overall the service, the ambiance, and the staff was well worth it! Please come and enjoy Enya!
Sushi Enya in Pasadena is the kind of place that reminds you what real sushi should taste like — clean, fresh, and beautifully balanced. Every piece felt crafted with intention and precision, from the texture of the rice to the perfect temperature of the fish. I went in expecting a solid sushi experience, but Enya completely exceeded that. The fish quality was top-tier — buttery, delicate, and melt-in-your-mouth fresh. The rolls were artfully presented and balanced in flavor rather than overloaded with sauces. You can tell the chefs truly respect the craft. The atmosphere is refined yet relaxed — dim lighting, minimalist decor, and a calm energy that lets the food speak for itself. The staff were professional, attentive, and clearly passionate about what they serve, which added to the overall experience. In short: Sushi Enya is easily one of Pasadena’s standout sushi spots. It’s not just about eating sushi here — it’s about appreciating it. Whether you’re a seasoned sushi lover or just getting into it, this place will raise your standards.
My husband and I went here to have a nice date night and we ended up having an AMAZING date night!! The service was so kind and courteous, the food was fantastic (the nigiri literally melted in our mouths!) and the atmosphere is very charming. We will be back!

Super Sushi place in Pasadena. The food quality is super high and so are also the prices. I am guessing this is how it is nowadays. I was visiting from Europe and was still surprised how I paid 40 USD for 2 small items and a desert. So if you have something to celebrate where you will not take a second look at the prices... this is ideal for you. Great place, great service and super food quality. 1 Star removed due to the price tag.
The quality of the fish is exceptional. The selection is amazing. The wait staff is more attentive than warranted (they have a strange habit of constantly refilling your drinks and grabbing any trash on the table as soon as it's set down) but they're very knowledgeable and friendly. My only complaint is that the portions are far too small for the price. I feel like I'd rather have one piece of nigiri twice the size than the two small pieces they serve. In my opinion, you need that much to really capture the flavor.
Reservation online is for omakase only! We called to make a reservation because one of us doesn’t eat raw fish so gotta do a la carte for her. Friendly staff and casual ambience here 👍 Two other people got omakase, pretty good deal as there were 13 pcs + 1 premium signature hand roll for ~$160 per person. We also ordered wagyu sushi for $20/2 pcs, which I personally prefer Ootoro a bit more. Blue crab hand roll also tastes okay, sugarfish is better in my opinion. One star deducted because uni wasn’t really fresh, taste like chlorine 🧐

I've lived in Pasadena for over twelve years, but this is the first time I've visited Sushi Enya. The atmosphere is pleasant - the architecture is simple and pleasing - plenty of ambient light, and lots of birch wood decor. The sushi and sashimi were very tasty, and the presentation (see photo) was excellent. Yes, it is somewhat expensive, especially if you're buying alcohol.

Guys, what’s with the chip-thin rolls? Honestly, it feels like a cheap marketing move to make you think you’re getting more for their overpriced sushi. Both rolls were completely overpowered by sauce. The service and atmosphere were great, but I wouldn’t come back. There are much better spots at this price point.
