They have great taste in chicken the only thing I didn't like about it was this place is very popular and the lines are long

Call ahead curbside pickup worked very well. Great chicken dinners and sides. I think the chicken pieces were bigger than the ones we get at KFC and very tasty.

I give a five star coz it’s the best chicken place in Plainview the only complaint I have their tea is still the best tea in town but here lately you ask for a sweet tea and taste like you ask for a cup of sugar to much sugar in tea if your not diabetic you will be after drinking the tea so maybe take it easy on the sugar

The chicken is juicy and the flavor is in the chicken not the breading! The Arnold Palmers are hard to beat because the sweet tea is the best in town! I'd recommend purchasing a gallon of sweet tea for home!

The staff is always so welcoming and happy even though they are moving fast. I love the option to add another side instead of a drink. The food is good and hot. And those rolls! Mmmmmmmmmm

I really appreciate Chicken Express, and their staff is always friendly and fast. I drive often between Amarillo and Lubbock and always stop here for a bite. Hot, fresh, and tasty!

I placed a rather large order, there was only one other car in line, at the window, and bythe time I got to window my entire order was bagged and ready.

The staff at the Plainview, TX location were simply a pleasure! The food was fresh and hot. We will definitely be giving them ALL of our chicken business! Great job!

THE ABSOLUTE BEST jalapeno poppers in town (Other than home made). I will go here and only order two orders of poppers for my husband and I because neither of us like to share them. Everything on the menu is good though so definitely go here if you want great chicken and poppers.

The young man in the drive through named Jayden , is super happy and talkative in the drive through . The whole staff is sweet , and majority of the time if you ask for fresh fish they will advise it’s a 10 min wait . The fact that the DINING IN IS OPEN NOW !! is so much better , less mistakes because they are able to have some of the customers in the dining area and less wait .

The employees are so courteous. Every time I take out here they are consistent with great service!! These employees are grateful for their customers that provide them with a job. Catfish was really good, as was the fried okra. I love the brewed tea. Updated-On our last visit we went in with 6 of us and were starving after a day of painting. The 20 piece tenders family meal with rolls and gravy and 1 family side plus we added an extra family side was actually too much food for us. We took home enough for a couple lunches the next day. Got, delicious and hit the spot.

I stop here pretty often coming back home. My visit on December 23rd, 2023 was amazing! The food this day was completely on point. Hot, fresh tenders. The rolls were nice and soft. The sweet tea was the best I've had anywhere in a while. The service was quick as well and they usually have a line at the drive thru, but today the cars were moving through. Great job staff! You guys nailed it.

Been good latley, customer service has been better, and the building looks good as well outside.. Older post.. Good until today, was told there will be a 15 minute wait for chicken, I mean really all you make is chicken and you don't have any for sale then waited 25 minutes and it never came out, never got served then when I had to go inside because I went through the drive thru to get my food it still wasn't ready so I demanded my money back because I was going to go somewhere else although I have been there several times I will not go back there again due to employees laughing while I was asking for my money back...

Food was good and restaurant clean. But if you order gizzards and the staff tells you that it will be a 7 minute wait while they cook they really mean 10-12 minutes.

We brought 19 kids and 3 sponsors without advance notice and they didn't even blink. Friendly service, fast, and good food.

Awesome chicken, coleslaw is terrible. Inside dining is still closed so drive thru is always backed up! Prices are slightly higher than other chicken places.

I liked it as a good fast food place. The food was good and I liked that they brought my food to the table. Very impressive for this type of establishment.

Delicious. I did notice that the chicken strips looked like they were cut in half. Dont cheat your customers. Give them what they pay for. We do notice stuff like that. The fish fillets are fresh and crispy.

Tastes pretty good. The rolls and gravy would be a great breakfast item. I love the flavors together. The okra was hard. It could've been cooked in old oil. Not sure. Maybe location causes it. Will have to try it again sometime. The sweet tea was delicious, too.

They always seem to give you an extra chicken strip or two. Which no complaints...costs should be for 5 to 6 strips. They were friendly and fast on service. Food was hot and good.

It's weird how their chicken is really white. Even the fried chicken, but I've gotten over it. It tastes really good, and I always come back. They have lots of different things, including catfish and Hush Puppies, which is awesome, corn nuggets, is a big plus 2 The staff is fairly friendly and I've never been in the store so I don't know if it's clean or the bathroom is clean. Food is good

Great chicken and tenders. Very disappointed in service. 3 times I have added stuff to the basic order and have not received it. It’s unbelievable. It’s happened more times than not but the last 3 visits for sure.

The okra was burned and the gravy was as thin as milk. The worst thing was, the nice young man at the pick-up window, had very dirty fingernails.

I have always loved Chicken Express, but if I order something that is going to be cooked & has like a ten minute wait, I don't understand why they pull the sides & place them in the box, which allows the sides to get cold instead of waiting to put the meal ready when all of the food is ready. I like my food to be fresh & hot when I get it. The employees need to be taught this, but I believe management just wants it to be hurried to the customer & does not teach this. I see this multiple times while waiting on my order.

I ordered. 2piece fish combo but when I got home fries weren’t in my box! Just cold fish(not freshly cooked) & my drink. Guess I should have checked & made sure!!!

I ordered a side of fried pickles and they literally gave me 8 slices. Now I know that’s technically what you pay for but everyone knows they over pack what you get at chicken express, I’m very disappointed that they are not keeping up with their own standards in that way. The only reason why I go to chicken express is because you get more than what you pay for but now they’re getting cheap 😭

Went drive thru. Took a while to get the order. Chicken was soggy, not crispy. Ordered unsweetened tea but got to work, and it was sweet tea. Probably not going back to that one.

I would give it 4 stars but at the front they have a sign that says "best fish in town". It was terrible, if you wet some cardboard then bread it and fry it the taste would be similar. Not to mention it takes an extra 15 min to prepare.

Food is great as usual but the customer service in the afternoon was not the best. I understand if they were training but no responses or anything about my order being completed. The trainer then opened the window and rudely told me to have a nice day when I was unaware I had everything I ordered.

Chicken express is normally pretty good. We went by for a snack (family corn nuggets) and it was a disaster for some reason. The people in front of us pulled up and took a bag of food inside. I am waiting at the window and see 2 or 3 employees opening multiple bags of food and sorting boxes out. My box was handed to us after the bags were all figured out so we waited 15 minutes for a "quick snack". Then they gave it to us without a bag or anything so the oil on the box bottom is on the seat. Silly mistakes.

We ordered the 30 piece family meal and two additional sides. When we got home we had a family side missing, we had a big cup of gravy instead of the okra we paid for. The biscuits are about half the size they used to be. We paid 85 dollars for take out chicken dinner, if the prices increase you expect the quality and service to remain the same. The prices increase and quality and service declined, dissatisfied.

for the 2nd time, they forgot to bag our side orders! called and supposedly spoke with manger, which all he did was said "sorry" very unprofessional! he wasn't rude but "sorry" for the 2nd time is not acceptable! lost value customer!

It says fast food but we sat in there for 30 minutes, easy they had stacks of chicken in the kitchen they had me all on the edge of my seat every time they walked out of the kitchen I thought for sure it was gonna be mine, i was like a puppy wagging my tail for a snack but didnt get one. I sat there so long that my butt fell asleep, I think I heard it snore a couple of times too!

It seems practically every time we order to go our order is missing something. When I called only response is if you want to drive back I can give you an extra side. No thanks and then we get to eat cold chicken.

This visit was the third time in a row that my order was wrong. With the price increase, I would think they would be sure the orders were correct before going out. Each time, the mistake was equal to at least $5.

Too many times I have taken my order home and the gravy is water. This time it was literally water! I don't understand why this is. From now on I will check my gravy and take it back in.

The person taking orders at the drive through didn't get our order right. We had to tell her 3 times. When the food came it was still not right. Had to wait 16 minutes and employee was not nice.

Tenders were far from fresh and fry's were no bueno. Sweet tea is great & fried pickles are delicious. Ber disappointed in the tenders and fried though.

The tenders have gotten WAY SMALLER!! It depends on who cooks your chicken if it's good I want good food every time I go not just hope it's going to be good!

Even after reading our order back twice y'all never seem to get it right! Its like chicken express roulette...you never know what you're going to get. One time I even got half spicy and half regular. The vibe is you're lucky I cooked anything for you now give me an unreasonnable amount of money and LEAVE because you already sat in the drive thru for 20 min!

After a day of having little time to eat, let alone cook, I having been hungry for fried chicken for several days, I stopped in and waited in the drive through line for a good length of time, I finally got to the window and waited there ten more minutes. I’m thinking well at least it will be hot and fresh! Wrong! The chicken was barely warm, dried out and tasteless. The mashed potatoes were cold and bland. There were no napkins, no eating utensil , and all this for the price of 12 hard earned dollars. This is the typical dining out experience nowadays in nearly every food establishment and I am tired of it.

I went through the drive through and ordered the chicken gizzard meal. Half the gizzards were very good but the other half was old and tough, they had been cooked and in the warmer for quite awhile, I had to throw them away. The date was 4-12-22 ticket #331.

Not very good chicken to greasy, grease runs out of the chicken when you bite into it and the mashed potatoes didn't come with gravy this is the third time there was no gravy when I got it home to eat it and I asked this time if they for sure had gravy in the order. Stick with the sweet tea and fried pickles they haven't done me wrong on that so far.

Today we had two lunch orders with two sides. After driving 20 miles to get home, we discovered 1 side in each order was missing. Very disappointing and this is the 2nd time this has happened. I shouldn’t need to go through each order to make sure it’s right! I love their food but workers need more training.

We tried to dine in because the hours says they're open until 10. They're not. The drive through is but apparently they close the dine in. Just took our business somewhere else. They should at least post on their doors or somewhere that they're not open inside.

Extremely unprofessional staff. Ordered a pick up and went to the pick up window and they made me get out and come inside to get my food for no reason. Entire time laughing and saying they hate people that don’t know what they’re supposed to do.

Very slow. Had to wait 15 minutes and finally walked out. Demanded refund, and was never given an apology. The ultimate was when he asked for my drink back that I had already drank out of!!!

Went with my husband and daughter to get dinner this evening. I was at the window and all they were doing was cussing and acting horribly. That place claims to be a Christian establishment but I can say that is not the case. So unprofessional

The chicken is all right but you'll spend $5 worth of gas waiting in line to get way to down if they don't open up the lobby this guy won't be going back there been too much time waiting in line like 15 to 20 minutes sitting there waiting for him to get to you

Soooo disappointed waited almost an hour along with a handful of other customers while the manager catered to some school teams that arrived after we had ordered! Service was slow and only drive through orders were being expedited quickly! Manager did not even apologize and just started getting on to his employees only after he was done helping the schools.

Seems like everything else price is going way up but quality stay the same or gets worse. I guess not everywhere is like burger kink you don't get it your way. If I'm paying for a product I think I should get it as I ask for it but it is too much h of a burden for them to do so.

They never get your order right. Tgey refuse to open the lobby due to COVID. This does not entice customers who aren't scared of their own shadows. They will not take a 100 dollar bill even if your order is 98 dollars.

Why sale family pack means if you're not going to offer plates, napkins and utensils. We asked for plates and the window sales lady stated I might can give you 6 plates. Glad we didn't get mashed potatoes!

Absolutely the WORST customer service ever!! Guy running the window was downright rude..wouldn't accept our form of payment when we asked for silverware he sighed slammed the window and came back and said do you just need 2?!

I usually do not write reviews but we all know that it's been tough finding help and some have the I don't care attitude. I am just done with the restaurants that continue to have help that assume this is acceptable. We pay top $ and continue to support during this time but when I read the reviews about the same issue and nothing is being done, then I blame management and owner. It does not matter that you have only drive-thru service but when I sit for 20 plus minutes after giving my order and having the employee repeat the correct order back, I assume all will be good....WRONG EVERY TIME...last thing I want to do after working 9 hours and picking up dinner and driving home-yes, out of town-is to find I have no sides. Thank you for making this acceptable, customer service at it's finest.

Went to chicken express to order some chicken and chicken livers. I placed my order and they said they were going to make them fresh so it would be about 10 min wait. I sat waiting for my food for over 30 mins and when I got my food the livers tasted old and cold. My order was sitting on the counter for all that time. I had to knock on the door for someone to let me know if I was going to get my meal or not. So I got a meal that was very unpleasant. I will not be eating here again.

Went Monday May 13 around 6:30 p.m. and bought the 20 piece tender meal. Added a family side and 2 single sides ( poppers, fried pickles). Got to the window to pay and they now charge for your ranch even if you get the poppers or pickles. And had to ask for it because it wasn't even in the bag. Got home and started making plates then discovered we were 6 tenders short. Biscuits were tough almost like they were reheated in a microwave, and food wasn't even hot. Called and was told if we come up there right now we can have them. Cost more gas then worth it. WILL NOT RETURN.

All of our food was cold and had been sitting out for a long time. I usually have to wait for my fish to be cooked fresh but tonight it was ready right away but cold. The corn nuggets were cold and the chicken seemed overcooked and dry. An expensive disappointment 😞

Picked up chicken and drove back to Olton. Gravy was placed sideways in box and it was like water so our order was soggy. Chicken, fried okra and roll were soggy. Did not get mashed potatoes in our order just another watered down gravy. After we were handed drinks the guy told us they were out of straws. The service and food is really going down. Where is chick-fil-A when you need them !!!

I was truly disappointed in the service today I waited in a drive through for almost twenty minutes only to get cold food that’s sad service was slow and I understand short staffed but when you pay for take out you hope it would be hot when you leave with it but because dining area is closed why would you wanna get back in line and have to wait another twenty to thirty minutes? This took place at 210 slide road around 4:45 today

I have never left a negative review before. But, after three times of being through the drive thru, I was asked each time to pull around front and they will bring out my order. After lengthy waits of over 20 minutes, I have had to go in and get my order all three times. Of course, after all of that, food is cold.

prices have skyrocketed here lately, they have rude staff, they NEVER get my order right, asking for ranch sauce, they employees act like you're trying to pull their teeth out. Plus they use to charge for it. Has really annoying speed humps in their parking lot and no trash cans outside. Their dining room is STILL closed. I dont see any construction equipment, are youreally still doing that iver the pandemic, or are the business owners just too cheap to hine enough/the right kind of employees? I dont have these gripes about any other store from thus chain that I've ever been to. I'm glad they have new competition in town. - someone choking down dry chicken, again.

I went in today to get some food and a male outside taking my order outside was picking his nose. Not only that the female that took my money was very rude and forgot some of the items that I requested. I had only half an order of corn nuggets instead of a full order. I was already out of town and I called the manager and asked him if he could do anything for this inconvenience and his reply was no because it’s just a condiment. I would highly suggest not to come to the chicken express in Plainview TX, as they will not receive my service anymore. Thanks.

2nd time I have stopped there..first time they said they were out of chicken and it would be 30 minutes wait..I left. I stopped today, the only customer in the building and no one in the drive thru..I wanted 2 two piece dinners ..all thighs meaning 4 thighs..I was told it would be a 20 minute wait while they cooked them..I Left..this time for good..looks like this would be a good place to open a fried chicken restaurant!!! I would give this place 0 stars but the survey won't let me give less than 1.

First time going there, it was bad. The food was cold, and the gravy had zero thickness. I opted to give it second try though. Second time around, they forgot a side item and a roll, and the female at the drive-thru window repeated what I ordered, including the missing side item and roll, and laughed while giving me the bag when I repeated the order back as confirmation. And once again, the gravy was watery. Will not be going a third time. I'll stick with the Chicken Express restaurants in Amarillo and Lubbock. When in Plainview, I'll go to any other chicken place.

Dine-in is still closed...drive thru takes forever. They keep going up on their prices. You would think they would appreciate their customers and do a happy hour or value meal deals like other Chicken Express. I went the other day and spent $20 on a meal with extra side.😮 I was in line for at least 20 minutes. I got home with wrong drink. I went back and the mgr working treated me like I made the whole story up. Are they really that hard up for $2? I went back and even made another purchase the next day and explained my order. NO customer appreciation....and rude customer service. I'll spend my money somewhere else.

Pulled up at 4:55 p.m. was greeted nicely and was asked for my order and while I was ordering I heard a worker say that they were closed, so I said "ok thank you." Looked at my phone and it had just turned to 4:56. I understand it's Christmas Eve and we all want to go home but I wasn't asking for food just a drink.

The food is great, but the girls didn’t know what they were doing, I could hear them talking and laughing instead of taking my order. The manager came to the window and was beyond rude. I asked when the GM would be there and said we don’t have one so I can get your information and send to the owners. I asked for the corporate number and he said I can’t give you that. Food is great but customer service has to be the worst in Plainview!

I’ve never seen so much horse playing from employees including the management team tonight.. very unprofessional from every aspect!! even other customers couldn’t believe all the playing around .. 3 male employees 2 managers all flirting out loud with the one female cashier and she wasn’t minding it either !! Don't recommend this place even on a slow hour before 5 o'clock. Went there 4:15 to place my order slow before 5 o'clock. The manager in charge took my order I asked him if he had any catfish he walk over and said yes. As a manager myself understand about not wasting food want fresh food for the customers to bring back customers. But if you're a manager and look at your quality of the food that you're serving and know that it's old and been under the heat for more than 15-20 minutes common sense let you're customers know that the food that they're wanting is old but will get fresh one going. Customers don't wanna go home and see old quality they want freshness especially they spent $20 or more. I called the place and asked for the manager he said speaking told him about my situation and he said just bring the food back and we'll make right. That's not the point you as a manager should know better on what the food look like. Whatever happened to common sense these days? Satisfy your customers and bring them back because they're bringing the business and paying your bills without them there wouldn't anymore busines. Take care of the customers and serve fresh food if you serve fresh food the customers will come back. If there's rudeness employees and management and business serves nothing but old quality. Best believe that the customers won't come back and they will write bad reviews about the business

The experience was awful because I ask for fries with no salt he told me he couldn’t do that because they are not McDonald so I ask him what do McDonald have to do with this he said at this location and all our other locations we don’t do that and he was the manager poor customer service skills and showed his team that this how you treat customers who pays his salary I was very disappointed at this location and left there and went to another location off of 84 and they gave me what I ask for they didn’t act like customers don’t matter I go pass this chicken express every day and I will not advise no one to go there poor service and the management should be ashamed thanks and it happened last Thursday and he said the general manager name is Polo I will try to get by there to talk to him

I had placed an online order and was unaware I had to go inside to pick it up so when we went through the drive-through and told them we had an online order, they let us go all the way up to the window, which took about 15 minutes and then finally told us we had to go park and go inside to get the food. No big deal we went inside and got it took it back out to the car and started eating and our sides were fine but we started tearing into our Chicken and all of it was PINK!! GROSS!!! Would have gone back inside, but the people we talked to to get our food were extremely rude, so I didn’t want to go inside and bother them more about the food. I’m sure they would’ve made up for it. I just wasn’t interested in getting new cooked chicken with already having raw chicken.

Almost always has rude service and easily one of the worst chicken express in the panhandle area.
