A group of 6 of us went, and we all got something different. Every one of us loved what we got! I had a Blackberry Slipper. The croissant dough was flaky and perfectly cooked (with no filling leakage), the blackberry filling wasn't too sweet, and there was the perfect amount of frosting drizzled on top. I tasted my friends Morning Bun. It's like an amazingly good sticky bun. The dough was light and flaky, and the brown sugar "sauce" was perfect. The hot coffee was strong and good, and the iced black tea was really good. Not bitter, and a joy to drink. I DEFINITELY recommend Bovine!
Excellent and large! morning buns made more in the style of a sticky bun than the traditional cinnamon and sugar buns. There is a constant queue on the weekend but don't be put off! The line moves fast and there seems to be an ample supply of mainstays like the morning buns.
Went to point Reyes in the off season and stayed up the road at a great hotel. First morning for sight seeing we stopped for coffee and pastries. Great coffee and blueberry croissant. Stopped there every morning next 2 days. Party of four and always excellent coffee, pastry or breakfast sandwich to start the day.
Fantastic fresh bake goods. Super friendly staff! Highly recommend.
One of our favorite reason to go to Pt. Reyes!! . Delicious scones and buns and a nicely expanded coffee asst. In the past year or so, are offering more lunch items like pizza and sandwiches
Always the best bakery. Definitely one of the top 5 in the Bay Area. I drive 30 miles to come here. I don't like that prices have crept up so much though.
Seriously some of the best pastries I’ve ever had! So high quality. The morning buns and pain au chocolate are to die for. Delicious mocha as well. Highly recommend, will definitely be stopping here again next time I’m in the area.
Hubby and I got a couple of non-vegetarian quiches and coffee cake (think giant, yummy cinnamon rolls made into a coffee cake) for brunch. Both were delicious! Will be back for another visit while we are in the area. They do not have an area for dining in.
I'm so happy we finally stopped by here today. I've been wanting to come here to try the pastries, and it turned out to be a nice treat on our way to the beach. There's a decent variety to choose from. I just had a coffee, a croissant, and split a slice of pizza with my daughter. We took some breads for the drive home. Prices are reasonable, food is great, and they accept cards. I will be returning soon!
Their savory scone is absolutely amazing. I also liked that they had an option (oat bran muffin) that was only sweetened with dates. If you want a fancy coffee go across the street to Toby's but if you want yummy breakfast goodies and organic drip coffee go to Bovine. It was also nice that they had the option to pay with credit card. Edit: been here twice now, and both times great experience. Got the pumpkin scone this time around and t was mouth watering good.
O gosh, such a wonderful bakery, where do i even start :) the sticky buns/morning buns are absolutely divine! if heaven had a taste... woweee :) the best sticky buns I've ever had in my life, i highly recommended stopping here while in Pt.Reyes. thank you for all the yummy choices and delicious coffee💜
Baked goods were overall really good, comparable to San Francisco bakeries. Savory tartlet, quiche, almond/fruit thing were great. Fruit scone was a bit blah but scones are often disappointing. Line was long and slow on a sunny weekend, there's only one register and there are a lot of people thinking their orders over twice and ordering 10 things. And tourists squeezing into the very small shop from way back in the line just was annoying. Their popularity has exceeded their line management!
I just tried this place again after a decade and am pleased to say the scones are as good as ever. In fact, the blueberry scone is even bigger than I remember (banana for scale). Long live Bovine Bakery!
This is a cute little place that gets super busy! Expect a line out the door, but totally worth the wait! Pastries and breakfast options are delicious - we tried a morning bun and it was super yummy! My chai latte was delicious too! A great spot in Point Reyes Station to check out if you're in town.
When I showed up in Point Reyes Station--which is very much worth a visit in its own right, as a town, I saw this enormous line outside Bovine Bakery. Despite that there were a number of other shops already open as well. So I walked around to every other shop, and was curious enough to poke my head in when the line was down. I bought a rosemary ciabatta sandwich--One of the top 3 sandwiches I've had in my life. My only regret is that I couldn't walk off with more baked goods. 20 out of 10. Amazing place. Amazing food. Worth any line. Just wear a good hat.
Everything is so good. We planned to check it out once but ended up going every single day of our trip. Hard to choose between all of the delicious options.
Bear claws! Seasonal fruit slippers, large pies, danishes! ALL So delicious. Like flakey, crunchie, just right sweetness. All size overly large. Line goes quickly. (Currently window counter open). Easy to find. (Street parking easy, but also overflow parking behind grocery, and super nice public bathroom block behind grocery store, which is across the street from bovine bakery)
Folks on their way through Point Reyes line up at Bovine Bakery for their favorite morning pastry. Always a great variety of sweet and savory delights to choose from. There are benches just around the corner to sit in the sun and enjoy your fresh and tasty bear claw, scone or muffin.
This is a real gem in Olema. Called ahead and ordered a cake and a variety of sweet and savory for a weekend birthday camping trip. This place gets busy, so get there early if you are just stopping by.

Delicious pastries and other baked goods both sweet and savory. Coffee, teas, soup, pizza, fritatas and they offer a senior discount!
Fantastic fresh bake goods. Super friendly staff! Highly recommend.
Morning bun was sweet and crunchy. Yum. We also grabbed pizza and cherry chocolate ganache cake. Everything was tasty but the bun was the best. Looking forwards to my next drive through Point Reyes so I can stop for another. Update: second time around the bun was even better. Warm out of the oven!
Solid bakery and everything was very fresh. We wanted a little snack before starting our day so we grabbed some raspberry turnovers that were absolutely delicious! I recommend this place if you want a good pastry and relax for a bit.
Cute bakery shop but I just wish they would have a bit more vegan food options.
Decent pastries, the frittatas and raspberry cream danish were delicious but brownie was too cakey and dry and not very flavorful, left something to be desired.
Cute little bakery with a lot of lunch options like pizza and quiche. Pizza wasn’t the highest quality but a great price!

I enjoyed my morning bun but I would’ve loved it heated. That would make it 5-stars for sure! No seating so we found a spot a couple blocks away to sit and relax. Good place to grab breakfast before a hike.
I stopped by to get a quick latte, and no wonder is always so packed in there! all their pastry selection looks amazing! the latte was delicious, by the way, and they also offer a variety of sizes in case you are not that hungry but need a shot of coffee to energize your day. Love it and would be visiting again 🥰
Baked goods are fantastic. Barely scratch the surface of 'good' on customer service. Don't ask questions about the scone du jour! Just get the baked goods and leave.

Bovine was great in the early days, but now it's just ok. The Bear Claws used to be large, fluffy, and most importantly filled completely with a tasty poppyseed paste. Now they are about half to at most 2/3rds the original size, and only a half to a third filled. Still tasty with the filling, but half the Bear Claw is now just meh bready pastry. If you're in town it's still worth a bite, but no longer a wow factor experience.
Cool spot with okay baked good. Customer service stinks, I think they are just tired. Brick maden is better
The pizza we got was not great. Soft bread-y crust and mediocre toppings. The pastries in the case looked awesome though, wish we’d tried those. Service was slow and not friendly.
We bought four things but nothing pops ! Blueberry scone is not buttery enough ) especially compared to brick maiden) . Oatmeal coconut cookies is too oily and sweet. Chocolate chip cookies are dry. Waited for more than ten minutes when there was only one person ahead of us. As the cashier was making coffee and chatting with that one person .
We tried the almond croissant, scones and coffees. Almond croissant was okay but the scones lacked flavour. Coffees were the biggest disappointment. Don’t be fooled by the high ratings and go to Tony’s across the street instead!
I have some sort of very fond nostalgia for this place due to the many times I've stopped here during the past 30 years on biking or beach trips to the area. It's a cool town and a great location. The bakery itself is okay. The pastries are fair, not great, like they used to be. Pizza is bad and not heated enough. Staff is not the friendliest, some give you the stink eye if you ask them to fill your water bottle. At least now, after years of resistance, they do have espresso drinks, which are okay. With so many bikers around, you would think the bakery or the town would make more of an effort to have nice outside seating and bike racks. The bread shop behind them has pastries, I'll try them next time.
Giving this average review because it was more or less an average bakery experience. The drip coffee is dark roast, so if that’s your thing no problems there but I like medium full bodied and was a bit disappointed. The savory scone was surprisingly bland. My 2yo would not share her sugar cookie so I’m assuming it was excellent according to her taste 🤣. The berry crumble/cobbler was delicious in terms of taste, though the crumble on top was a little too uniform and underbaked, as were some of the berries inside, so texture wasn’t quite ideal. Fine as a substitute when Brickmaiden bakery next door is closed. Sorry for the terribly messy photo, took the cobbler to go and it got a little smushed.

The chocolate cake and raspberry tart was very good, but Chai Baba chai was not as expected as it too milky and could be considered a regular chai latte. Overall a decent bakery within the point Reyes town.

Got an iced chai with oat milk and a sugar cookie. Sugar cookie was good, iced chai was poured out after 2 sips for being watery. Powdered mix you can make at home instantly tasted better.
Used to be great, however, a group of us stopped by last weekend, 3 different type of cookies, they ALL were bland! Pretty bad. Well skip it and go elsewhere. Bummer, used to love this place.
Double check your bag before you leave! I ordered a peanut butter cookie and a coconut oatmeal cookie. Got home over an hour away and saw two ginger cookies. I even pointed to the damn cookies I wanted. Can’t stand ginger cookies. Wasted money and so pissed! Was really looking forward to the peanut butter cookie and now I have no cookies.

Disappointed. This isn’t my first time here—I often stop by for coffee and a quick bite whenever I visit Point Reyes. Yesterday I ordered three bakery items and a coffee, and while the person taking my order repeated it back to me, they still got it wrong. My chocolate croissant was swapped for a cinnamon bun. To make matters worse, my friend’s order (three bakery items and a latte) was also incorrect; their coffee cake was, yet again, replaced with a cinnamon bun. This doesn’t feel like an honest mistake, and considering I left a tip, it’s especially frustrating.
A group of us stopped by this this week. Prices are high and the baked goods, not nearly as good as they used to be. We tried about 4 different flavored cookies and they were all pretty bad, zero flavor. coffee was fine and service was ok, not overly friendly.
The worst experience! The girl behind the counter tossed our less than tasty cobbler at us didn't even bother closing the box. It tasted like it has been sitting awhile. I ordered a chai latte with oat milk. It tasted like spiced water. My husband tried it and said it tastes like potpourri. I get it, it's on the way to the beach but skip it and save your money! I don't understand the good reviews. My husband said his mocha was meh. What a waste of money.
