What a great restaurant! Food is delicately spiced and full of flavour. Waiters and owner are kind and attentive. Atmosphere is buzzy but not loud. Just brilliant

This is possibly my favourite Indian restaurant and the only one my partner will go to. The food was delicious, the service was attentive and the atmosphere subtle and elegant. I had the opportunity to try things new to me. My only disappointment was that the menu no longer included street food which I was keen to try.

We had the early bird menu which was very good value at £20 pp. The food was excellent and the Staff very helpful.

Had a fabulous dinner here for celebrating my birthday. The food is amazing and very special. Also, the service is really good and the environment is cosy! Highly recommend here.

Hidden gem of an Indian, friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you, massive menu to pick from, with some different options to the usual fayre. Good range of cocktails, good atmosphere, feta cheese naan was interesting

Took my daughter here for her 18th birthday and we absolutely loved it. This isn't your typical 'curry house', the portions are maybe a touch smaller, but the quality of the food and the depth of flavours are second to none. As a seasoned curry lover, it's some of the best starters, mains and desserts I've ever had. My daughter is just getting into Indian food but was equally impressed. If you've had 10 pints of lager and looking for belly busting portions and enormous nans, this isn't the place for you. If you appreciate great service, flavoursome, beautifully presented food (that still fills you up) then pay them a visit. We'll definitely be back.

Excellent food and drink. The "Signature dishes" are very much unique to Haveli's and delicious. The rest of the menu has classic dishes but often with thoughtful additions. Good wine pairings, good beer choices and decent selection of mocktails and cocktails. Lovely service throughout from the whole team. That are attentive and the pace of the meal was good (not too fast, not too slow) Always a pleasure to visit Haveli's when we are visiting relatives in Ponteland. We'll be back 🙂

Cool on atmosphere, massive on flavour. Had a quiet Thursday night dinner. I Wasn’t expecting such a pleasant surprise. Lamb chop starter was delicate and warmly spicy and tender. Paneer main course was banging too. The service is excellent and also the food is great value for ££. Thanks.

The food was beautiful. Each dish was so full of flavour and really lived up to all the smells I have smelt when walking past the restaurant since moving to the area! Would absolutely go back!!

The food at Haveli is really really good and although Michelin is mentioned it’s not Michelin prices. The only thing is that it seems to be a best kept secret and it’s often very quiet which is a shame given the food is excellent. Go, you won’t be disappointed. Parking outside is free and it’s a great location if you just want a good Indian meal. We had the 5 course meal for 39.95 per person and it’s excellent value, no stinting on portions and genuine enquiries as to the taste and flavour.

What a beautiful meal we all had , the food was exceptional, cocktails the best in ponteland by far. My only niggle was we where given the bill without asking for it & we had not long finished our meal , two of us wanted a desert so we asked for the desert menu the bill was taken added too and put back on the table before the desserts arrived .no coffee offered . If they have set time lines then they need to host there tables more efficiently to accommodate desert & coffee . Apart from that it was amazing.

Every time we visit Haveli we are never disappointed. Last night the staff were all welcoming, attentive and efficient. The food was delicious...perhaps a little more spice than usual but it did not affect our enjoyment. A top class restaurant with reasonable prices. Thank you!

One of the best India food restaurants I have been to. We usually don’t go to Indian restaurants due to authenticity at home vs restaurants. But Havel was fabulous. Every dish was delicious and authentic especially Lamb chops were so soft and yummy. The decor was also very nice, clean, specious and bright. Very family friendly staff and ambiance.

Recently dined at Haveli Ponteland and enjoyed every dish we had in particular the starter Burra lamb chops, absolutely tender lamb with authentic Indian herbs, simply delicious. Great service with attention to detail on presentation yet serving mouthwatering tasty food. We will be returning very soon

First time eating at this restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful , the surroundings were immaculate, and the food was outstanding . The best Indian restaurant I've ever eaten in . We will be back. The lamb chops are a must have very tender snd succulent.

The restaurant, team and food are wonderful. Since first visiting to discovering they have a takeaway service we've been hooked on the quality of the dishes and attentive team.

One of the best Indian restaurant experiences I’ve had. We went for an order totally different to what we would normally go for and every part of the banquet meal at £34 was fantastic. The starter sharing platter was exquisite and extremely tasty - the flavours were amazing. We went for the slow cooked chicken and the biryani which came with breads and Indian black beans. It was all extremely tasty - some of the best flavours at an Indian restaurant and the management checked in to make sure everything was satisfactory - a nice touch to the experience. Our food for 2 of the signature set menu, 2 wines, 1 cola and a peppermint tea came to £98 which included a 10% service charge - I didn’t think this was too bad especially given the care and attention that went into the knowledge of the menu when asked - and then the quality and flavours of the food. Fantastic place! We visited from Durham when picking up family from the airport and will be back!

We had our son’s 21st birthday celebration in Haveli. It was a Sunday lunch event with around 40 guests. We were very impressed with the quality of food and service which went down a treat with our guests. There is plenty of parking close to the restaurant which was a big plus, particularly for our more senior guests. Parag and his team were very happy to help with every aspect of the event, including setting up the AV equipment. Highly recommended!

First visit and did not disappoint.Service with polite and curtious staff. Slight delay with main course as restaurant did fill up quick and there appeared to be quite a few take aways. No problem for us we were there to enjoy great food and we certainly got that.

Absolutely loved the food, our server gave us perfect descriptions of what was to come, where the food was from and also spice levels we should expect. They made us feel incredibly welcome, the food was flawless and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

The food is the stand out winner here. Exceptional starters and mains with a good selection of wine and recommendations for dishes that suits the drinks.

Went there a few weeks back with a group of friends. Everything was great - the space and decor, the welcoming nature of the staff, choice and quality of food and drinks, the speed of service. Our experience couldn't have been better. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a good (actually great) restaurant in Newcastle area.

Had a biryani main dish. I thought it was is a bit "dry", I wish it came with some sort of sauce, you could optionally add to the meal. The lamb meat was very nicely cooked.

Food is phenomenal, but we had mixed luck with the service. Likely a new waiter. Other than that quality and presentation excellent, with some fun twists on Indian classics. The chicken tikka kebabs starter is notable arriving in a brass tandoor to the table. Full bar, decent selection of lighter and Indian beer. Worth the trip and prices extremely reasonable.

Haveli serves good food with great service, though not the best I’ve had. The lamb chops starter could have been much better, and for the price, I expected a bit more. It’s a nice spot, but I’m not sure it’s worth the money.

Friendly staff, great service and lovely food. One downside is that there isn’t much of a variety for vegans. Other than that, it was lovely.

First time here for a meal with my husband for Valentine’s Day. We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere however the service was very slow and we had to remind them about our drinks order several times. It was busy but we had pre-ordered our food (which they couldn’t find) so we were not expecting to wait as long as we did for that either. That said the food was very nice and hopefully next time we visit the service will be better.

Very good came for an 80th birthday and was greeted warmly after we finished our curry’s we where greeted with a complimentary gift for the birthday but unfortunately the “happy birthday“ written round the side of the dish was curry sauce. Overall it was very good curry and will be visiting agains.

The food is delicious. Fantastic value for money. Visited many times. However, I think the starters & deserts should be updated. There’s only so many times you can visit a restaurant before boredom sets in. We would have liked to see new dishes on the menu to enhance the experience. I have ate all over the UK at top Indian cuisines. This food is definitely up there, but it’s time for change in certain areas.

Good curry and nice atmosphere, service initially a bit delayed but then improved. The location is good and the parking was easy (on a Wednesday evening). Overall a good experience.

Went for the fist time with group of friends. Food was absolutely delicious, starters were really good portion and delicious, Lamb curry was so tender and perfectly spiced, best I’ve had in a very long time. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff definitely recommend.

its clear that starters were fresh and were a good start. until main course arrived and what a disappointment. tasted like bolognese chicken tika eew. and the lamb Baryani was obviously cooked few days weeks ago Happy to pay a good price for quality. in this instance not recived

If warms beers(how can anyone get a pint wrong three times and warm is beyond me) and cold starters are your thing then this is this place to be.. otherwise avoid like the plague!

We are Indian food fanatics and travel to India often. This restaurant is ruined by the pompous owner who tried to tell us that the Dansak curry could not be made spicy hot!! How utterly stupid. We were then served a range of curries highly over salted with the young waiter agreeing with us and telling us others had moaned about this. Awful restaurant and overpriced and clearly confirmed by the lack of customers on a Saturday night (6 customers!) Awful overated place. Go elsewhere!
