Mille Fleurs is a beautiful restaurant with wonderful service and excellent food. Dining there is a special experience and well worth the price. The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. Their menu had a variety of delicious options. The server was very helpful when we had questions. We chose the lobster salad, which was beautifully presented and did not disappoint. The greens were crisp, the lobster was fresh, and the dressing was lemony and delicious! The dessert was a work of art and excellent too!

We enjoyed a lovely meal here on our anniversary. The service was impressive and the food was delicious. We started with the lobster strudel (so flakey!), then I had the halibut and my husband had the pork chop. All were very well cooked and seasoned. I also appreciated the generous wine by the glass pours!

Outstanding service and attention to detail. Delicious food with creative flair to bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients. The venison practically melts in your mouth. Duck confit excellently prepared with crisp exterior and moist, tender interior served with an exquisite sauce. The vegan watercress and asparagus soup was remarkable in flavor and richness. The setting is elegant yet comfortable with multiple dining areas, including a lovely patio. The bar is beautiful and comes to life later in the evening with a piano player and upbeat crowd. This place represents what upscale dining should be.

An extraordinary experience from beginning to end. The food exceeded all our expectations: every dish was perfectly prepared, with fresh ingredients and exceptional flavors. The service was impeccable, attentive throughout, and with a warm welcome that made all the difference. Without a doubt, a place worth returning to and highly recommending. Congratulations to the team!

My boyfriend took me here for 6 month anniversary. Ge had been here once before for Restaurant Week last year. We sat outside, and no one else was out there because they were under the impression was too cold, They turn on two heaters for us, it set a perfect intimate and cozy ambiance. Overall the vibe outside felt very earthy and intimate. You feel like you're in the middle of a elegant forest with the trees and lights. I really enjoyed the environment, it was quite perfect to celebrate our anniversary. We ordered a variety of dishes, starting off with the deviled eggs and steak tartare, followed by the escargot. This is my first time trying escargot, and I was pleasantly surprised how much I loved it! I guess traditionally escargot is presented with a side of butter to dip in, but in this case, it was already prepared in a nice buttery spice mix. We also ordered the French onion soup, a side of Brussel sprouts, and a side of truffle fries. I ordered the lamb as my main dish, and my partner ordered the wienerschel. I loved my lamb! I got it cooked medium, I'm glad I did because it was already fairly pink on the inside. The sauce accompanied by the lamb was tasteful! The hint of spice, was unique to anything I have tasted thus far. To top off the beautiful ambiance, the tasteful dishes, the service was on par! Our server was amazing, knowledgeable, and telling us flavors to expect of each dish, and checkes on us for every water refill and anything in addition we would need. It was a really amazing experience. My boyfriend did a great job of picking this up for the anniversary.

Lovely Brunch. Beautiful ambience. Nice service. Enjoyed lobster Bisque. Highlight of our meal were the amazing Profiteroles.

You can always count on a delicious dinner at this place!! First time I ate here was approximately 10 yrs ago & I keep coming. Their soups have always been so good! Well balanced, nice consistency almost velvety. They have a dish for everyone. Their service is very good. I would only wish they have a wider variety in their wine list. It’s a pricey restaurant, but so worth it!

We sat at the bar it was a lot of fun the food tasted really good and definitely get the panna cotta for dessert the bread and butter is extremely good also the risotto is really good also they have a lot of high-end alcohols here and I would suggest sit at the bar definitely going back again

Delicious food and excellent service. The restaurant is very big with lots of different areas including some outdoor seating. There is a bar that had some live piano playing when we were there on a Saturday. Wide range of French influenced food and very good wine list. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and entertaining. Had a great night...would definitely go back.

I recently dined at Mille Fleurs. It is a cute restaurant on a charming street in Rancho Santa Fe. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to dine inside. They have an extensive wine list. I enjoyed a glass of Grand Cru champagne. As a starter, my friend and I ordered the deviled eggs. They were really good. A fresh radish on top was a nice touch. For our main course, we ordered the lobster risotto and steak frites. We were pleasantly surprised by the generous portion of lobster in the risotto. It was the best steak frites that I’ve had in San Diego. For dessert, we chose the crème brûlée trilogy. It was delicious! Our favorite was the banana crème brûlée. I almost forgot to mention their amazing freshly baked cake on a baguette and their homemade butter. It was so good that I had to stop myself from eating all of it so that I could enjoy the rest of the food that I ordered without being too full.

The restaurant has a nice ambience. The sommelier recommended a very good Sauvignon Blanc from Russian River that's light and dry. It went very well with our starters: lobster bisque, escargot and Caesar salad. For main course, two had sea bass and one had salmon, all excellent. It's a high-end restaurant and expect to pay top dollars but it's well worth it.

One of the most amazing restaurants I've ever been to. Well worth the prices... Leave yourself plenty of time to enjoy the gorgeous atmosphere.

The best food in town! I have never been disappointed with anything at Mille Fleurs, it’s been my favorite place to eat since I was a child. They have some of the best dishes and many delicious desserts, with a great variety. If you want a quiet and lovely date night experience, this is the place to go.

I've had my birthday dinner here for the past 2 years, and each time it has been wonderful. Great service, attentive staff, delicious food! They provided a great birthday experience each and every time!

Was here for a friends rehearsal dinner. They made room for us to have welcome drinks at the fireplace & had a wonderful table for us in a cozy nook afterwards. Service was fast and friendly, attentive but giving our party space too. We had a pre-selected menu with some options to choose from, all of which sounded fantastic! We all really enjoyed the food, nice presentation and flavors. Only let down was that my chosen desert option ended up being very basic for such a high class restaurant - cold berries with vanilla whipped cream, still tasty but I could have made that at home. All in all: would absolutely recommend for intimate family events or a special date night.

Outstanding service from the entire staff - John, our waiter, was gracious without hovering. The recommendations from the maitre d were spot on. Drinks and food all very well to excellently prepared. We probably left the lmond-crusted seabass resting too long and it became slightly overcooked - a *very minor* thing - as the almond were still crunchy. The Steak Frites was amazing, just upgrade to the truffle fries for exquisite! Venison medallions were tender and flavorful, while the colorful carrots side were delicious. The fettuccine with black truffles were heavenly. Even the baguettes with shallot and herb butter delighted us. For drinks, highly recommend the burnt orange old fashioned and the proseco spritzer (forget the actual name on the menu). Live piano in the bar got the patrons rocking and added to the holiday spirit. Overall, a culinary and service delight. Alas, we just had no room for dessert.

Great experience for an upscale dinner. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about food and wine. Even the chef came to the table and engaged into friendly conversation - actively looking for feedback to learn and to improve. We enjoyed the dover sole, duck breast, and the hanger. It was cooked perfectly and the sides were paired perfectly. The wine recommendations were spot on as well.

I'll just start by saying this is a fantastic restaurant and just about everything is excellent. If you're looking for a fine dining experience that's a bit rustic and classy, this is your place. My friends and I were in a bit of a hurry so we called in a reservation for 5:30pm when they open. When we got there, something went wrong with the reservation even though we had gotten a confirmation. They quickly took care of it and seated us anyway. We made sure to inform them that we needed to be out in an hour and they did a fantastic job of moving the pace for us. They didn't get flustered or overwhelmed with the request and handled it quite deftly. The service was excellent all night. I really appreciate the environment. It was quiet and the music was just loud enough to hear if you're listening for it. The lighting was warm and the decoration was minimal and appropriate. I don't like how many restaurants have high ceilings, concrete floors, and painted walls that all contribute to a very noisy space, and there was none of that here. A very intimate setting with fantastic food. We ordered the deviled eggs to start. I was skeptical about classy deviled eggs, but these were about as scaled up as you can get with deviled eggs. The filling was slightly tangy to cut through the natural savoriness of the yolk and it was probably one of the best deviled eggs I've had. It's a dish I'm conflicted about because it was so good and at the same time, I don't feel justified in paying the price of four dozen premium eggs for the experience of half of one egg. There were only three pieces so we each got one. I can't recommend for or against it so you'll have to decide for yourself. We got the Prime Angus steak frites, dover sole, and the traditional wienerschnitzel. I'm not a huge fan of dover sole, so I only took a small bite, but this was delicate and lovely. If you enjoy fish, this is a flavorful white fish that's buttery with a hint of sharp brine to it. It's not my favorite, but I'd only be slightly opposed if someone were to consider it the gold standard of fish. They prepared it well here. The wienerschnitzel was, in my opinion, a bit bland. I only tried a small piece, but I was not terribly impressed. The scalloped potatoes looked good, but I didn't try them. It was like a country fried steak with no gravy. I was honestly disappointed. Fortunately for me, I got the steak frites. Rare. I was taken aback when the server clarified with me that rare is a little more pink in the center and if that's what I wanted. On the one hand, I'm glad he asked just for clarification, and on the other, I felt as though my request was being questioned like I didn't know what that was and I wasn't clear about my intentions when I said rare. Regardless, the steak came out perfectly rare. The steak was incredibly well cooked and the peppercorn sauce was absolutely perfect. It was strongly savory with an almost pungent flavor that paired perfectly with the steak. This rarely happens, but it was such an amazing experience that I caught myself closing my eyes just to savor the moment in each bite. I don't think I can express, in words, how much I enjoyed the steak. I don't know if I'd be willing to try something else at the risk of having a lesser experience. The homemade fries were delightful. I don't usually like fries and I don't usually like ketchup, but I ate all of the fries. The aioli was pretty good too, but I felt drawn to the ketchup and that statement just feels wrong, but here we are. For dessert we got the strawberry rhubarb pie, the banana creme brulee, and the gelato. I didn't enjoy the pie as much as I thought I would. I love strawberry rhubarb pie and this just didn't hit the spot. The rhubarb was tart and the strawberry sweet, but somehow they didn't come together as well as I expected. The crust was tough and almost stale and I think that's really what disappointed me the most. The ice cream on the side was very nice. Overall an excellent experience and worth coming back to try their other dishes.

Not somewhere we can go regularly but it's worth the splurge. The Duck Confit was incredible. The asparagus was tender and flavorful without the briny ends attached that some places serve you. Deviled Eggs were 10 stars! Service was warm and friendly, not stuffy as you would expect at this type of place. Delicious!

Been a long time and we were so pleased with our experience at Mille Fleurs. We were made very welcome from the start at host stand and by all of the staff. So refreshing to have a professional wait staff! Cocktails were perfect- amazing Bobby Burns! And wine choice for us was a great choice. Starters of carpaccio, oysters and smoked salmon were gobbled up by my 2 large sons! Entree were all excellent especially the duck and steak frites! We will not wait so long to return!! Best in North County for sure!!!!

Phenomenal experience. The food was exquisite and the staff very professional. As if you're dining in France. We had the devilled eggs and escargot to start, lobster risotto and sea bass for mains, and creme brulee trio and profiteroles for dessert, all of which I would highly recommend. Many thanks to the staff and the chef for a wonderful evening.

We were there in 2016 for our anniversary. Great food and great service! My kids were keeping me occupied, so one of the waiters did a super nice thing, took a knee next to me, and sliced my meal for me! 6 stars for that!! Their baked items & desert sampler was great!

The food was exceptional. Duck confit wonderful. One in our party of 10 is a connoisseur of a venison and said it was the best he had ever had. I am a connoisseur of oysters and these were over the top fresh and flavorful. It was just a wonderful, lovely warm, delightful experience in which the food was exceptional and the service perfect; attentive, anticipating needs yet never obtrusive.

We come here for many of our big family celebrations - birthdays, anniversaries, seeing visiting family after a long time...this place is charming, the service is beyond 5 stars and the experience is more akin to Europe - taking your time with courses, enjoying a glass of wine or champagne. The food is always fresh and we have never had a bad meal or starter here. Salads/veggies are sourced locally, as are proteins. The garden in the warmer days is gorgeous...flowers, plants, and happy yellow umbrellas. Thank you everyone at Mille Fleurs for giving our family so many happy memories.

Truly unique dining. Servers are top notch professionals from the wine selections to the details of the menu. I'm no culinary expert, but think the vibe is French, like emphasis on presentation and palate. They served bread baked in-house. My friend and I had the seafood we ordered served to us by the chef on the beautiful patio. You won't be disappointed.

Mille Fleurs never disappoints. The steak and frites are my favorite staple — a perfect choice any night of the week. Beyond the food, the atmosphere is unmatched. My friends also love stopping by the bar during the week for an elevated drinking experience in a setting that feels both lively and refined. Truly one of Rancho Santa Fe’s best!

Wow! We’ve been all over the world to eat, and the food was incredible. The service was one of the best, Vittorio was 10/10 friendly and warm. Highly recommended

An upscale restaurant where service and quality are still valued. We went on a Tuesday night so the restaurant was not as busy as it is on weekends. We were greeted at the door and offered a choice of having a cocktail at the bar (we arrived early) or going directly to our table. We chose the latter. Food and drinks were all excellent with an attention to detail and quality. Staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and wine list and friendly. Atmosphere is relaxed, but upscale. If you are looking for a nice experience at an accessible fine dining restaurant, we highly recommend recommend. We plan to host a family brunch there during the holidays.

The steak was amazing and the soft shell crab … the lobster salad was good but un assuming for the price … as the vegetables … the food took unusually long especially since the place wasn’t full … but overall very good meal and the attention by the staff was great

Top notch service and patio is lovely in the summer. The food was under seasoned on our entire parties entrees, but maybe it was an off night.

Took my two kids here for brunch . Have been here many times and had a great experience previously . On this particular day , food took an unusually long time to come out . The lobster strudel appetizer was amazing . However the sea bass was bland and dry which was surprising to me . Service and atmosphere were first rate as always . Milles Fleur will always be high on my list for special occasion or any meal. I just wont get the sea bass again.

Great restaurant. I can't give the food five stars. It was good but I find it impossible to separate the price from the taste experience. Everything was well prepared and tasted fine but there was nothing that hit a grand slam in a restaurant that charges grand slam prices. Would I go back? Yes, I would. It's and excellent restaurant with great atmosphere and the service as superb as it gets. Rory was Fabulous. On a one to five scale he got a ten. He handled a group of seven, with a really raucous crowd like a pro. But the food should be more than good at a place, like this and it was good. It just wasn't memorable. Should you go? It'll cost you, but yes.

Excellent food that’s beautifully presented in a charming atmosphere. One star off for service. The hostess was rude. She barely greeted us, not even a smile, yet was very friendly to regular diners. This is a miss for such a lovely local restaurant. Hire a host who treats all guests the same. Our server Sid was fantastic! Easy parking too.

Very upscale with service and food. Service was very nice, everyone very polite and proper. Felt we were paying more for service than the food itself (which was under seasoned in my opinion) but overall was a nice evening.

T

Service was outstanding. Super polite and friendly. 10/10 Food was just alright, nothing to ride home about. It wasn’t good enough for us to come back. The sauce in the black cod dish tasted good at first but it wasn’t enjoyable towards to the end because it was quite sweet. The lobster was fresh and sweet but the overall taste for the salad wasn’t there. The ingredients didn’t go well together. Seabass was just ok. The fries were the most tasty dish of the whole meal. Overall, I will rate 6.5/10 for the food.

S

Not sure what happened since I was last here but most of the food we tried was just ok. Nothing really stood out as excellent. Very disappointing as this used to be a great place. The bread and the French fries were great but unfortunately that’s about it.

Food was okay but service was good. I was very disappointed that my lobster bisque did not have lobster in it.

The ambiance for the outdoor seating was nice. They have umbrellas to provide shade where needed. The service was decent, but nothing spectacular. Our server was not very friendly and looked unhappy. The food was pretty decent but nothing to rave about and certainly not worth the price. The best item was the clams which were perfectly cooked and had a delicious sauce. The most disappointing dish was the tomato salad which came with only a few thin slices and very simply prepared. This dish was certainly not worth $22. Lobster salad was apparently one of the most popular dishes. The salad was fresh as was the half, rather small lobster. As an entree, I was expecting a larger portion. Good thing we ordered the bread else would have left hungry. There was a 5% surcharge on top of the bill. Street parking available but was was rather difficult when we went. Overall a disappointing experience.

I went here last night for dinner with the friend. The food was good, not five star, but good. The service was five star for sure. But then I had to go to the bathroom... And this is why I give it a three-star. You can't go out to eat and spend $100 a person and then use the restroom in an unmaintained facility. I could not close the bathroom stall door easily, it was broken. There was a missing tile at the washing sink, and the mirror was held up once by double-sided tape which didn't hold up and then they used 3M tape. How can you do that??? Have fine dining but then not maintain the facilities. It makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like? I won't be back.

R
Robert Stone (Bo)

Meh... Not the Mille Fleurs I remember. Food appearance is good but how can you make a seabass taste like tilapia, dry and tasteless? Lamb was obviously defrosted. Looked good but tasted like nothing. And of course all of that at the exuberant cost. Service is good but you have to wait forever and they weren't even busy. P.S. The reply hits the right points, thank you. We were happy, no problem with the waiter, he was nice and friendly, I always tip well and yes, thank you for the free dessert it was a nice touch. Unfortunately, I can't back down on food preparedness just because it supposed to be superb given the cost. And it just wasn't, sorry

I heard a lot of good things about this place so we went there for a Sunday's brunch . After driving 40 minutes, the first impression was positive as the outside sitting area looked very nice. The servers were nice. The choice was limited compared to the standard menu but looking on how all choices were $$$ we thought that it had to be delicious; and really??? We started with their home made bread (as a French I will not rate it over 1 star), then we had starters ; Cesar Salad (average) tomato consome (the biggest scam I ever had in any restaurant) and beet salad (average, no taste). As entrees : a lobster salad (it looks nice but really no taste at all) and 2 ViennerSchnitzel (too oily and not the best meat) with caper (the smallest ones they could find), lemon sauce (I think they forgot the lemon in it) and gratin dauphinois (slices of uncooked potatoes, a lot of fat cheap cheese, and a lot of salt) . We did not even dare to try the desserts.

M
Mark Camacho

Wow, if you don't mind $790 for 4 people, and only 1 drink per person... ( Mandatory 25% tip/service charge added to bill) And look at this plate, see if you can figure out what it is that they served me for thanksgiving dinner tonight. That's actually mashed potatoes and some kind of strange turkey pieces. Oh, and that other indescribable item was stuffing. I couldn't tell until I tasted it. It was actually a pile of croutons... and when did wilted and thin asparagus spears become fashionable? Pretty embarrassing 🤢

G

We have been going to Mille Fleurs for years and it's one of our favorite restaurants. But New Year's Eve was a big disappointment. We went there with friends and 3 of us ordered the Lobster Tail for our entree. We were served a "bite" of lobster that was the size of 1 shrimp, Not a lobster tail. The cost was $185 per person plus 5% service fee plus 25% tip. For 2 of us dinner was $653 including tip and service charge. It was shocking to receive a bite of lobster for that cost. We were still hungry when we left the restaurant and drove through Jack in the Box and ordered tacos!

D
Dana Crowell

Used to be fantastic. Has gone so downhill will never return. Service non-existent. Took 1 hour to get drinks, an hour to order food. An hour to receive food. Lobster salad, a favorite, was wilted, 2 bits of lobster, mango unripe. The weinersnitzel, a chef's special, was overcooked, and tough. The side pitato gratin was lukewarm. 2 of us had to return our dishes because order was wrong. Sourdough baguette was ordered and never arrived. Overall an unforgettable horrible night out. So sad. Used to be wonderful

s
sdavrider

I ignored the bad reviews and visited anyway. Cocktails are good. Lobster bisque tasted like dish water. A rice cake has more flavor than the halibut did. Waiter was indifferent. Very disappointed on my birthday. Beware the changing $50 per person cancellation charge. It starts off as a 'no show fee' then becomes a cancellation charge. No parking. I'm disappointed with exec chef Brandon Jennings. We walked out and ate elsewhere in Solana Beach an hour later. I never look at reviews, esp at a Bertrand Hug establishment. my mistake. never again
