Here is a 5-star review for Cafe Amore that strikes the balance between high praise and "Italian grandmother" energy. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | "I think I’m legally married to a lasagna now." I walked into Cafe Amore a skeptic and walked out a changed person. I’m pretty sure the chef is actually just three Italian grandmothers standing on each other's shoulders under a trench coat, because that food tasted like a warm hug and a lifelong secret. * The Bread: I usually have self-control, but their garlic knots are a spiritual experience. I would use them as a pillow if they weren't so delicious. * The Pasta: I ordered the Carbonara, and it was so authentic I suddenly started gesturing with my hands and developed a strong opinion about local soccer leagues. * The Vibe: The atmosphere is so romantic that I accidentally fell in love with my own reflection in the wine glass. A Fair Warning: Do not come here if you are on a "no-carb" diet. The ghosts of Italian ancestors will literally boo you out of the building. If you want to feel like you’re part of a family that actually likes each other, go to Cafe Amore. My heart is full, my jeans are tight, and I regret absolutely nothing. 10/10.
Little hidden jewel. Great marinara (that’s my compass point for Italian restsurants,) homemade bread, and such a lovely atmosphere. And it’s BYOB, so you are sure to get exactly the wine you prefer! Attentive and warm service. We will definitely be back.
Great food! Tasty, fresh sit in, great takeout pizza. BYOB. Lively atmosphere and is frequented by regulars and the waitstaff remembers them. That is a good sign!
I ordered delivery from cafe amore and it was SO good! I needed lunch for my child and I and I’m gluten free so it’s hard to do. I got a gluten chicken Alfredo and it was so good!! My child loved their pizza(my husband had some and also thought it was really good). It’s becoming our new go to!
I judge Italian restaurants by their spaghetti sauce. Good Ole fashion bowl of spaghetti. This place is my absolute favorite go to for Italian in this area. Hubs says their chicken picatta is second only to Belini's in the Design District downtown. But what's really gonna keep you coming back are their insane fresh yeast rolls! They are amazing!!! I forgot to take pictures.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you’re looking for incredible food and outstanding service, Amore Italian Café on Coit Road is the place to go—and christen is a big reason why. Every time I call to place an order, he answers the phone quickly, takes my order with accuracy, and never misses the small details. I sometimes ask for my lasagna a little crispy, and he gets it perfect every single time. He never forgets my extra bread or any of the requests I make, which is rare these days. When I arrive for pickup, Christians always greets me right away, handles the payment smoothly, and gets me out the door with my order in hand as quickly as possible. His professionalism, consistency, and attention to detail are beyond impressive. Honestly, I wish more young people took their jobs as seriously as he does. If I ever opened a pizza restaurant, Christians would be the first person I’d try to hire. And let me tell you—the lasagna at Amore Italian Café is the best you’ll ever have. Add Christan end top-notch service, and you’ve got a winning combination. Highly recommend stopping by and experiencing it yourself. Thanks again, Christians!
Today was a bittersweet day(national sibling day). My friend humored me and said yes to my dinner date. I'm so glad I went. She and her fiance enjoyed dinner (first timers), so I'm definitely going back. I'm happy to be next to Cafe Amore! Food will always be superb! We got chicken Primavera, chicken fettuccine, and lobster ravioli. Also, I got to help a gentleman that t fell down. I'm glad he was ok! Hope Cafe Amore continues to be around, my daughter ate everything!
Amore has the best Italian vibe, this side of the Atlantic Ocean. The atmosphere is cozy, it's the next best thing to having an Italian ''Nonna'' (means Grandma) in your house. The servers are courteous and attentive, but not so attentive that they'd ask you ''how is everything?'' just when you started chewing a spoonful of spaghetti. The food is good, tastes homemade. And the portions are generous. The first thing I noticed were the real, red and pink fresh flowers adorning the tables. Very nice touch! And not to be missed were the Roman arches and columns that adorn Rome, Florence, and anywhere within a thousand miles of the Mediterranean (or 'Mare Nostrum'', Our Sea, as the Ancient Italians used to call it!). But then I noticed the art, and oh, what a great moment that was! Huge paintings after the Italian Renaissance masters, My favorite was the Venetian gondolas by Giovanni Antonio Canaletto. But then I noticed the sculptures after Michelangelo, and ''The Touch of God'' painting after the fresco from the Sistine Chapel. ''Amore'' is the right name for this restaurant, because you're sure to fall in love with the ambiance, the service, the food, or maybe even with the person sitting across from you!
This is some of the best Italian food in the area! We have been dining here for years both in the dining room as well as for takeout. Family owned so they get to know you and make you feel like family too. Texans by way of New York so we’re fairly picky about pizza, but Cafe Amore hits the spot every time. Thin crust, lots of cheese, and just yummy deliciousness. Pasta dishes have always been good as well. Glad to have a great place for italian close to home.
Wow! Our first taste of Café Amore’s pizza and we’re in love. They were able to make my idea of the perfect pizza: olive oil and garlic foundation, eggplant, artichoke, and mozzarella toppings. The mozzarella was wonderfully stringy. My husband had his usual red sauce with his pepperoni, mushrooms, and onion toppings. He, too, enjoyed it. Oh, I forgot to mention the crust. It’s soft just the way I like it. Update: Mama Mia…that’s some good pizza! We keep going back for our pizzas. Right now we enjoying the Supreme pizza with everything on it, but my eggplant and artichokes. Another update: if management reads this review you need to talk to your pizza maker. If a customer is waiting for their pizza as soon as you finish putting it in the box, announce to your waiting customers that it’s done. My husband is getting really annoyed when the pizza gets put on the pizza oven without a shoutout of his name. In fact last week he bought pizza elsewhere. Update: The owners have gotten their act together and they now announce when a pizza/other dishes are ready. Yayyyyy!
Interesting restaurant, the front end looks like a typical strip mall pizza joint but further in is a large and tastefully appointed dining room. They have a nice menu with very reasonable prices. The food was very good, servings were generous without being so oversized you have to take half home. It's not my new favorite (Two Guys From Italy is the best Italian in DFW still in my opinion) but this place is so much closer and so good I'll be back.
This place is a gem. The food is so affordable but is high quality. The chicken pesto was amazing and the bread with the herb oil and vinegar dip is soooo good! Plus, it's BYOB. I still like Maggianos but will be coming here most of the time. The food is cheaper and just as good, if not better. Highly recommend.
The food was very very good and flavorful! The lobster ravioli was my favorite! Don't remember other items we got but they were also good! It had a white wine sauce and it was awesome. We tried cannoli for the first time, and I wasn't a big fan of it, however the Italian cream cake was very good. Will definitely go back on another business trip!
There bread was delicious! They had an amazing olive oil vinaigrette dip for the bread. The entrees had so much flavor. Drinks were kept refilled. Decent service for a busy restaurant on a Friday evening. Prices are very responsible. They are BYOB. Elegant looking inside. We just found our new spot.
Went for dinner here and it’s BYOB! I didn’t know that before since it was an impromptu plan but I’ll definitely visit again with bottle of wine. They don’t charge you anything for opening the bottles. I had the bruschetta and vegetarian lasagna and it was pretty good and filing. They had a good European style ambience which I loved. They don’t have alcoholic drinks tho fyi.
We have come to this restaurant for years and love it. Great family place, great food and family friendly. We ordered the mussels from their menu that clearly states "WHITE wine, garlic and herb sauce." When it arrived it's drenched in a red sauce, which was clearly NOT listed on the menu. I've seen mussels served in either red marina-style sauce or white wine, so DON'T add red sauce to a white wine sauce, or at a MINIMUM say that on the menu. The BIG problem was no so much that they served it this way, but the fact that the OWNER and EVERY staff member discussed this LOUDLY at the glass partition. It's important to say this was at 4:45pm on a Saturday night, so the restaurant was still rather empty at this point. They took the mussels out of the red sauce, and re-purposed them in the new white sauce, so now the mussels were chewy and over-cooked. Still tasty, but chewy due to overcooking. I can deal with the error on the menu. Heck, I can deal with the fact that you didn't want to throw out the mussels and simply rinsed and re-served them. What I can't understand is how you think it's a good idea to stand within ear shot of a guest and talk badly about them. We heard you. Everyone in the restaurant heard you. I graciously give you 3 stars for your years of good service and nice memories. Perhaps next time you simply serve it as it's described on your menu and not trash your customer for expecting it that way.
Came on a Saturday for lunch and had a party of 5. At first our servers were very attentive, but the longer we stayed the less and less service we got. We had to try and get our server’s attention on multiple occasions, and there were only two other tables sat. I also noticed that our server had an AirPod in. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt as the servers could have had a long day. Regardless, if you are willing to deal with all that, the food is amazing, though the service could have been better that day. PS. I wish there were more clear directives on the 20% gratuity. I had a party of 5, but there was no where on the menu or signage that mentions this.
July 2024 We visited this restaurant after reading the reviews. The taste of the food is ok. My daughter enjoyed the build our own thin crust pizza. I ordered the veal Sinatra, kind of salty. Maybe I should order something else. My rating. 5 is very satisfy. Taste 3/5 Temperature 4/5 Speed of service 4/5 Attentive and courteous 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Will I return? I’m not sure. There are too many choices competing for my dollar.
THEY AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE 20% SERVICE FEE !!!! The food is ok, nothing to gush over, and certainly not worth the overall price of the meal after they AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED 20% SERVICE FEE !!!! We were 4 ppl, splitting the bill, so not a large group, and nothing was mentioned before hand (it might have been written in very small print somewhere on the menu). We only noticed the extra charge after our card was already charged, when we wanted to add a service/tip, and noticed that there was already a 20% included. They didn't even give us the option to decide our own amount. A 20% service fee, is a hefty add. It made our meal overpriced for the quality of food and service. I will mot be coming back.
The waitress my husband and I had attend us barely attended to us. She just looked at us a few times and it felt so awkward. When we asked for the bill we weren't going to tip her because we didn't like the service. She basically forced us to tip by saying "Do you know good service? Do you know that we don't get paid here so we need tips?" I felt bad for her but my goodness was her question aggressive
