Great service ! Wooohoooo keep up the good work.
Very clean but warm
Very professional and caring
The staff here is amazing! Especially Sam! He is really helpful with my pop pop here and it makes Me feel at ease. Most places have staff that don’t care but not here! Sam is absolutely amazing and my pop pop loves him!
The rehab team is amazing! The cnas that took care of my mom we’re so attentive to her call light and she said she felt safe there. Denise and her team were amazing with all the activities they did and the Hawaiian luau! Overall I would definitely recommend this place !
My mother-in-law stayed at Brookhaven Center for Rehab and Healthcare recently. This was a great experience for our family. Welcoming, accommodating and knowledgeable nurses/staff. Thank you, Brookhaven.
Hi today was my first time there visiting my sister which is her first time there. As a patient so far it looks like a very decent place and staff was very friendly and her room was nicely air conditioned!🤗
The therapy is great staff is awesome food is great
Treated my sister, very professional and clean, they help her to regain her mobility. The nursing staff and rehab professionals are outstanding.
I liked Brookhaven Center in East Orange. They are very friendly and helpful. I give it 5 stars. Very clean too
Staff is courteous, caring & highly professional. They put your mind at ease & address all concerns.
My grandma absolutely loves the place she doesn't stop talking about the amazing staff and nurses and how well they are taking care of her
Very nice and clean facility and they let the visitor check the temperature before going to the patient
Hi, Brookhaven is a quiet and peaceful place. If you want rehab, brookhaven is the place to go. Thanks!!!
Nice and pleasant staff. Very clean and nice facilities. I have to say Anthony is a very caring and passionate staff member keep up the great work Brookhaven.
My Aunt Elaine and I had the greatest time with your rec. staff by the name of Samuel. Sam seems like one of the few staff members who actually enjoys his job. The way my aunt lit up when she saw him brought great joy to myself and my family.
Like any facility you need to communicate and work with the staff. There are Many wonderful people willing to help in healing and assisting. We had a unique situation since my husband was injured while on vacation. They helped us all the way to getting medical transport to tune airport for our flight. Many went above and beyond. We will miss many of the residents that became our family and friends away from home.
In general, we are more comfortable when family takes care of family. It's understood admitting a close family member to a rehab center is rather emotionally difficult, considering visit regulation cannot be a substitute for being around them around the clock. However, with the health challenges my brother has been experiencing this summer, it is clear he needed a place where he can be supervised and have constant attention and caring of (and by) professionals so that he can get back to better health sooner than later. Being at the Brookhaven Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in East Orange turned out to be the right thing place for him. The facility is well equipped and well-regulated to meet all of his caring needs. Overall, I am very pleased with the staff from the reception desk to the activity team, as well as the admin folks, and the support team ... In particular, a chance meeting with the Director of Social Services (Wayne Cameron) to answer a few basic questions, Mr. Cameron proceeded to schedule a group meeting with several support staff so that I have the most up-to-date and historical progress of my brother since he became a resident at Brookhaven facility for the past 4 weeks. Chaired by Mr. Cameron, the team was generous with their time to share insights with me of his overall health on many levels (e.g. physical, mental, emotional). At the end of which, I have clarity of their observations around activities he is engaged, how he responds to his challenges or interacts with the staff, his progress trend, etc. It was time well-spent for a multi-dimensional insight from the professionals in attendance ... Thank you again! In short, I am pleased with the care my brother is receiving; The warmth, genuine, friendliness, professionalism, and transparent dialog with the staff reaffirmed my brother is in the right place for the best care until he is back to better health. I have a profound respect for those whose passion to caring, supersedes that of the demand of their job; in so doing, we have the comfort and peace of mind that our family is the right hands and in the right place. Thank you again!
Our grandmother is in the facility with proper good care.Well, attended to, the environment is clean and safe. The staff are polite. I equally recommend this nursing home to those who love good quality.

The front desk ladies are very nice and courteous.
I was shocked by the level of customer service I received from Brookhaven. I had heard horror stories about care facilities. The staff at Brookhaven were attentive, kind, respectful and Pedro spent a lengthy amount of time on the phone with me explaining the level of care the facility could offer my father. Pedro even followed up after speaking with my father. I felt empowered to make comprehensive decisions about my father's care. Bravo Brookhaven!
My experience was pleasant. Mr. Eddy M. Sosa Rosa gave us a tour of the facility. The environment was clean. Any questions we had was answered. My husband first night was comfortable. Staff was professional, friendly and courteous. I will tell anyone that need a facility to put their love ones in nursing home come here. Thank you for taking care my love one.
I did a tour with Giovanni and he was a great introduction to the facility. While my mom was staying there for rehab the staff was always responsive and empathetic to our issues and needs. While the building can definitely do with some upgrades, having a caring staff led by Giovanni really made the visit bearable and allowed my mom to recover and come back home safely. I’m
I am my Aunts caregiver and trusting another facility after our last one was a bit of a struggle and was terrifying until we met Giovanni. He was so professional and him and his staff were so warm with my Aunt it was an automatic connection. He made our process their smooth and led us down a successful recovery path that we both are so forever grateful. So thank you to Giovanni and his team for making this experience one to remember.
The Staff is very thorough, professional and attentive. The facility is clean and well staffed. I'm impressed with the facility so far and glad that I selected Brookhaven for my Mom's rehabilitation needs.
I went to go visit my grandfather P.Jones one afternoon this place amazed me how nice and active the staff was with me and my family member. I could tell my grandfather felt at home and was being treated with care. I spoke to a individual name Samuel N who worked with my grandfather I could tell this young man loved his job and was willing to do anything to make the staff happy. I really recommend this place great job.
Giovanni assisted my family and I through the process of what the facility does for patients. It has been difficult juggling with parents and my career full-time. The rehab was excellent for both my elderly parents and staff assisted and answered questions. Parents are doing great the to Brookhaven rehab. Thank you Giovanni and staff!!
Establishment Must be under new management staff attitudes and customer experience got better! Thank you to the corporate personal who emailed me back and forth to correct my issue. My mom loves it here and couldn’t thank you enough for the services you provides to her. Working in healthcare is extremely Hard and Brookhaven staff makes it look easy.
We had such a pleasant experience there. Brookhaven really stepped up their game. The current staff are really caring and really want to help my nanna. The doctors originally said the healing time would take double but with this home we see that time cut in half. The parking and visiting is also a breeze. My family and I recommend this place.
It’s been a great experience every time I visit my father. The staff is very friendly and supportive

It's a nice place I was there for a brief moment it was OK. Staff where nice
Good folks
My brother is a resident of Brookhaven during his recovery process, I thus far find the staff to be attentive, the receptionist at the entry is alway pleasant and helpful and the environment in and around the facility is clean.
You do have some staff who are very good and caring. The administrator is open to communicate will any and all. Unfortunately I had a issue with one staff member who said I was aggressive which is untrue and they denied me returning for rehab. I still would recommend this place to anyone
I visit this place today because my mom is in there, but the place is very nice very friendly staff. I will recommend anybody to go there.
The facility is always clean, there's no smell in the hallways etc. I initially met Giovanni and he was great, he was so awesome and made things happen expeditiously. There is always a live person answering the phone and all of the receptionist are very pleasant, patient and smiling at the front desk which is very inviting. The receptionist always say "enjoy your visit with a smile". Wayne the social worker is very responsive, he listens and gets things done. The kitchen staff headed by Mrs Maxine are all great, responsive and always ready to listen. Mrs Maxine is a true gem! Norma is the nicest, sweetest, most attentive employee, always going above and beyond for her patients. She treats every patient like family and the family members love and want her to tend to their family members.Barbara is very special as well, she's so loving, caring and enjoys her job, she goes above and beyond for her patients as well. If they could clone Norma and Barbara it would be a blessing. They both love what they do and I'm thankful for both of them, they treat each resident like family. My mother and brother are residents and are happy they are there.
The hhA is not on top of the game. If u have ur family in please check on them time to time ,

loved visiting this facility
1st time here 3 star
It can smell better! The 2nd floor smells horrible! Change residents diapers more often!
I believe it would have been beneficial if a nurse or certified nursing assistant had accompanied her during her transition to ensure that everything went smoothly. The approach to care and assistance seems different from what I'm accustomed to, and I hope that future experiences can incorporate more thorough support.

Brookhaven is not the place to bring any one that you love and care about to. The REHABILITATION staff is beautiful they really help you. REHABILITATION is the best thing in this place. The CNA. not all of them are very nasty no respect . Also you have good and bad nurse'shere also. The food terrible. Look other places before you come or bring someone here. Not the place they have no respect for the elderly at all.THINK TWICE.
Not helpful at all the staff is rude and disrespectful?
Just terrible all around.
The worst place known to healthcare .
VA hospital .sent me here .. first time here things was not bad Now second time back here wish I never did Thay forget to feed me..at times???? Any ways the food is terrible....low cost food.!!! I been in department corrections it's just like them but when you're hungry you got no choice But to eat !!! Rehabilitation looks like thay need donations to buy better equipment...thay say there going to do things....thay don't.! Say that to make you feel better....said alot of things but never happened Best to go against doctor orders..find better place.... That Medicare would pay for..... Thank you
I have a close friend that is in Brookhaven, his stay there is terrible, he has to ask the staff to give him his meds and the food is terrible, I've never been in a like that and hope I never have to!!!!
Admissions department was very nasty and short with me when I was asking about a patient there
My father just was admitted to Brookheaven nursing home as of February 2016. Thus far with experience wise, I would not recommend for someone to place their love ones in this nursing room. I've witness when my father and/or other patients press the call bell-they don't come immediately. My dad had two falls sadly. Another thing I have witness is when he comes from dialysis: he sits there for hours in a wheelchair before a CNA or the LPN attained to him. I have made several complaints to the administrator and the D.O.N in regards to the staff, and services which within weeks or months it goes back to the same stuff. It's now April 2016 and none of these issues have been accommodated to a point where my father is asking to be dead. He hates it and feel like he is being hell. I would not recommend this nursing room to anyone who has a family or friend they care for.
The staff is very rude, unprofessional and the rooms are not clean. Something needs to be done, you can tell these people are here just for the money. They could care less about the patients they are supposed to be here to help. If your loved one comes here make sure you come check on them daily.
Patient is James Brown Jr on 7/13/22 brought back from dialysis 11:30am laid in bed with no sheet on the just wrapped the patient in sheet from 11:30 am until 5:00pm patient has a colostomy bag that was not changed Nurse Carlo Alexis was very disrespectful to the patient over talking her did not want to hear what she had to say about her father rough with the patient Mr Brown nurse Raeshan Allen was rough with patient entered the patient to clean and change the patient colostomy bag with no supplies nurse Manuel do not know last name say to the patient I can help you it is time for me to get off the floor in the patient room was very sticky needed to be clean I have been in the Healthcare Field for 23 years and this is unacceptable I watch another patient family member clean and change their own family and when they asked where to get supplies the nurse pointed and said over there the supervisor that was on Chantle White was no where to be found the nursing staff is horrible a nurse should not come to work for a paycheck a nurse has to love to care for their patient treat their patient the way they would want their family member to be treated the daughter of Mr James Brown is very upset and should have her father moved from this facility
My Husband Has Been In The Hell Hole For Only 4 Days Today His Sugar Was Not Check ,So He Ate His Dinner and Now His Sugar Is 395 Its Been Two Weeks And Still No Difference In The Staff. THE WORST PLACE FOR SOMEONE TO BE
I would give negative stars if I could: My mother was prescribed subacute/rehab care after diagnosis of multiple health issues. Within a matter of 2 months she has been diagnosed with stage 4 liver cancer, had a massive heart attack with 100% blockage, multiple strokes, and an abdominal tumor. The photos on google are not of Brookhaven Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in East Orange---DON'T BE FOOLED!!! The indoor photos are of another facility with a similar name in another state. We were admitted to BCRH on Friday evening; 05/05/23; immediately my sister and I were skeptical about our choice. The front desk staff are tolerable, but have no personality. No one gives off an inkling of wanting to work there or take care of the sick and elderly. The meals provided are comparable to the worst school lunch program you could imagine. My mother was continuously served meals that were not compatible with improving health. Heart attack 48 hours ago= Ham and cheese hoagie with plain potato chips... among other offending meals. Whenever I went to the nurses station I was ignored every time by staff sitting at the desk. When I was acknowledged I would be told with the wave of a hand to "go find her nurse down the hall." A staff member confronted and yelled at the roommate of our mother right in front of us and I could hear her cursing, in conversation, in the hall with another staff member on another day. I was under the impression that on Monday, with a full bustling weekday staff things would improve---WRONG!!!! The 2nd floor smells of urine and the floor is stained and breaking from the walls foundation everywhere. I came there everyday and stayed a minimum of 6 hours each day; I never saw anyone clean any part of the room, bathroom, floors, tables, or even mop the main hall. The patients rooms are long overdue due for updating and repairs. I have worked in healthcare and public health for over 13 years and had no high expectations for the weekend staff (we were prepared to support the staff and our mother with her care) but I was not prepared for what occurred over the next 4 days. Last night we signed our mother out after a major incident with her pain medication and multiple staff members. We took her directly back to the hospital only to find out she now has fluid around her heart and a urinary tract infection (not necessarily due to her stay, but unnoticed by BCRH). I will be writing a letter to the State of NJ Department of Health, NJ Long-Term Care Ombudsman. Mayor Greene of East Orange as well as the directors and administrators of this "facility." It is deplorable that people are being housed in this place and the entire site needs retraining or re staffing.
If you care about your fa mily members don't send them, I can't stress this enough. If you have complaints the people in charge will rarely see or talk to you. The place is constantly understaffed, somedays it's only 1 nurse and 1 aide per 20 patients. When shift change they take hours to check on you to see how the previous tour left you. They make up their own hours come in late leave early. It can be orders in the system for you to have something done today and you can complain for days before someone will do it even if runs the chance of you getting an infection. They feed you like a toddler in pre-school, and when you order your food it takes you between 1-2 hours after delivery before you eat. If it's a brightside to this place it's THERAPY, if you're lucky to get there. THIS PLACE IS SERVERLY UNDERSTAFFED, don't send your love ones here!!! I'm a patient here been requesting a meeting with the D.O.N for weeks answered the phone one time still haven't made it too my room
This place should be shut down. The techs are horrible. Thank God my family member has has some decent nurses so far. However one fay he called the front desk 2xs. Each time the person that answered him got out of her seat and came by his room. She never came in his room to see if he was OK or what he wanted. She was too busy asking g who has room ###? Smh!! By the 3rd time his nurse came, she was helping another patient. She was very upset that the lady never came in thr room to see what my cousin wanted. They are literally starving the people there. They don't get balanced meals and the portions aren't enough for a small child. One day my family member was given a piece of chicken and a piece of cornbread. What is that??? Everyday the portions are smaller and smaller. They don't have a choice in what they eat. You either eat what's being served or you will be hungry. Unless your family brings you food. Today 4/10/2023 at Brookhaven my relative was given 3 French toast sticks and 2 sausage for breakfast. Lunchtime he was given watered down spaghetti. At dinner he was given an ice cream scoop size of plain rice. Smh!!! What is going on in this place???? How is this even ok?? Something needs to be done. I'm so glad he only has a few more weeks there. What about the people that are there long term? I feel bad for them. Smh!! Sad!!
This place was very disappointing! My Dad was admitted for rehab after a broken hip and we came to find only horrible service from the nurses and staff. He was left alone without assistance in the bathroom for over an hour. He would call for help and no one would respond. After speaking with the nurse manager her excuse was simply that nurses were busy which is understandable but not acceptable when a patient is totally immobilized. Also nurses station is impossible to get a hold of phones ring and ring and no answer. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! They siMply don’t care about their patients!!

Trying to call for information, and they answer and keep me on hold, then forward me to voicemail & then stop answering. Very unprofessional- Receptionist is rude, like I made him get that job. If you aren't happy in Life at work- Get a new job seriously. Your customer service skills are trash!!!!
The center smells like an unclean bathroom. I don't think they've ever cleaned the place cause theirs no way for the whole place to smell like pee. One of the nurses had an attitude being passive Aggressive. The only good is the front desk lady she's polite.
DO NOT send your loved ones here. This facility is smoke and mirrors. They LIE about services and care they're supposed to give patients with limited to no mobility. They will leave them in soiled diapers and do not care for them properly. My brother had two Stage 4 pressure sores and two that were unstageable...he was malnourished also. They REPEATEDLY lied about his pressure sores saying they weren't bad and healing. He was rushed to the hospital due to hi fever and high pulse. Hospital out flat told me they cannot return him to the facility because it's an obvious case of neglect. Even when the nurse at the facility called me to tell me he had an elevated heart rate, I asked if it was because of the pressure sores, she lied and said "no no, no, they are good he has problem with his his heart". A few hours later, he was rushed to the hospital. The therapy staff lied about doing daily range of motion exercises with him...his legs are fully contracted. The nurse at the hospital said "there is no way he was receiving daily range of motion exercises with his legs being 100% contracted" I could go on, but I will tell you 100% not to trust this place to give your loved one with limited to no mobility care as they're supposed to receive, and they will lie about it.
This place is horrible. The communication sucks, you always have to ask about who's taking care of your loved one. Also, they found a mouse on the 2nd floor in someone's room.
This place SUCKS. If you care about your love one don’t bring them here. No one other than 2 people there can be trusted. Lie so much. They don’t care about patients or their families. I’ll give them no stars if this site allowed it. Keep your love one far away from this place. You say talk to the administrator? I’ve done that and all I get is lies. You know who I am instead of saying for me to call you if you really care why don’t you call me. For the record I have spoken to all the administrators there and nothing has changed
