This place has come a long way. Ever since they remodeled the place it has been a good go to spot in downtown. Cheap drinks ($4 for well) and cheap food that is worth eating. Don’t come here if you’re looking for a big menu or are starving, they serve great drunk bar food. Mostly frozen and fried but worth it for what you pay. They have a back patio where you can smoke or grab a seat and enjoy the outdoors. Not a huge place but a great layout. They have a pool table which is regularly used and pinball machines. If your local I recommend it, if you’re visiting the city there are plenty of other places I recommend.

What can I say? It's where I watch my favorite soccer team. The drinks are good and inexpensive. The menu from Hibachi Papi is spot on. But the best feature is the staff. From the opening crew to the closing crew OT has nothing but the coolest bartenders in town. Salud! 🍺

Cool atmosphere and great place to have a good beer! The Jukebox playlist is the one the best in Sac!! The outside patio is super chill! They have giant Jenga!🤘🏾John And Cheech the Giant are the best!!!

Hope you are ready for a rowdy night! This bar is for drinking cheap liquor and partying. The have an inside bar and outside patio bar! They also have lots of arcade games and pool! Say hello to Miguel he is a regular and is always up for a good conversation!

Old Tavern is one of midtown Sacramento’s staple dive bars. They have a better than average selection of beer and cocktails. Most evenings it’s filled with midtown hipsters, and the smell of rancid spilled beer. Thursday-Friday-&Saturday nights it gets very packed so you may not find a seat. Daytime you get the alcoholic state workers, and other random lushes.

Bartender was rude, he said “you can’t leave me a tip?” But I was getting dollars out of my wallet to tip him but he said that so fast I’m very disappointed in this service I wish I could leave a 0 star. The bartender has curly hair and tall, they different have to change their workers and also work on their service and maturity.

I’ve been coming to this bar on and off for 20 years, not regular basis, but sometimes kind of time and my experience is always good. It’s an awesome location, I played pool on a regular basis and the tables are nice. The weight staff in the past has always been friendly and inviting. And then, a few weeks ago I came late on a Saturday night, Kaylia a part time bartender started hitting on me, a few weeks later I ran into Kaylia at hilltop, she was so nice and gave me her phone number, after that night I went to Old Tavern again about a week later, and the environment was very hostile for the first time ever. I was told by her co worker she doesn’t want to talk to me, and that’s fine, last night I went in and ordered a colors light, I had forgotten her name, I asked the manager what her name was , he responded by throwing me out of the bar, I have no idea what Kaylia is mad at me for, I would really like her to inform me, so I could apologize. It’s really important to me that I do not leave a mess behind, it’s very important to me that I reconcile wrong, unfortunately, I have no idea what I did wrong, and I find it very unprofessional that BAR has a rally behind a personal vendetta of an employee. A vendetta I do not understand or even know the reason, but I do know it’s very bad for business. And that heavyset Mexican manager, should be replaced with somebody who is professional. I never caused problems, I tip very well, often more than the cost of the drinks. This used to be a great neighborhood bar, and it will be again with new management that puts customers and community relations over the desires of a malicious employees desire.

This place is a joke. There's a line for the bar to order a drink, which is weird enough. But the bouncers here are on a power trip and the bartenders are... careless? Long story short, we met friends there, took one shot together (except my girlfriend who didn't have anything), and my girlfriend went outside with a friend to chat. Apparently, while she was outside, she was doing things like jumping jacks and other movements and whatnot to stay warm. The bouncers saw this and immediately kicked her out for intoxication - no questions asked. I tried asking if there was a mistake or if they had the right person but the bouncer just said the bartender told her to kick her out. Okay.. went to the bartender and surprise surprise - they didn't say anything of the sort. Seems the bouncer saw my girlfriend acting "intoxicated" and asked the bartender permission to eject her, who blindly gave the OK. Never had any sort of experience like this before. The bartender, Joe was his name?, expressed annoyance that I was protesting this and probably wrote me off as being drunk too, based on the way he didn't care at all about our issue. Idk. This is a weird spot and I've never had an issue like this before. The staff needs to seriously evaluate what their definition of hospitality and customer service is.

Came here asked for garlic Parmesan wings and I got hot wing instead with a little Parmesan sprinkled in them cook is terrible asked him about it he says don’t come back lol bar is good but food service is questionable as far as good service I will never order food here again
