We LOVE Sandra’s…it’s our go to every Sunday morning! We always receive GREAT service from Sascha and her fellow waitresses and the hostesses greet us with a warm smile every time! Highly recommend as the food is delicious, hot & fresh - the cooks have yet to disappoint! Please ask Sascha how she got her name…. It’s a very lovely story.

Went to the drive thru about 30 mins before close. We ordered a few tacos and an enchilada plate. We decided to go here since the line at las palapas down the street was insanely long. My expectations weren’t high as they were just about to close and I figured we’d be missing something but instead we received everything and the food was amazing! Definitely better than last palapas food! The enchilada plate came with some great tortillas too! The cheese enchiladas were the best I’ve had in a while!! I even told my husband that I can’t believe we didn’t think to ever pick up dinner from here! The drive thru employees made sure to include utensils, napkins, salsas, and tortillas without asking. I know it seems so silly! But you’d be surprised at how often these items get left forgotten. Also, the to go containers aren’t the white styrofoam that melts under the hot food as most restaurants use that leave food tasting like melting plastic.

Been coming here regularly for breakfast for over a year and have not been disappointed yet. Fast and friendly service from every one on staff. Tasty traditional breakfast meals. Their breakfast is served 24/7. My meals are either the huevos con chorizo plate which includes: papas, frijoles, 4 corn tortillas and a cup of coffee, lots of cream and sugar. My other favorite option is their machacado plate: papas, beans, 4 corn tortillas, and a cup of coffee, lots of cream and sugar. Extremely clean and well lit dining areas. Lots of parking and fast drive thru service.

We came here for the first time to check it out and I'm really not sure what the bad reviews are for as we will definitely come back. The service was good and the food was great, the outside and inside are really nice and clean. The staff super friendly and they were a great team. If you like traditional Mexican "comfort foos", give this place a try. If at any point I have a reason to update this review, I will.

I have to compliment Sascha for making sure that my needy husband had his shrimp cocktail made to his standards. She made it happen. Great job on the service and the delivery of the cocktail as hubby was a happy camper. Thumbs up to the cook and Sasha! Thanks to Sasha going out of her way making it happen! Omg!! Barbacoa plate was so delicious!! The right amount of grasa to make it flavorful!! And if you pair that with the green salsa.... So good!! Salsa Verde is not for the weak. Whoever made it is definitely going through a break up or something!!!

Up the road a little from us but we came on a recommendation! Gotta tell you... it was worth it! Great food, great service and a clean restroom... count us in! TV's around the restaurant for news, games and even menu options! We'll definitely return to try even more food! Thanks to the staff for a great experience!

I really like their drive-thru menu. Its simple yet has a little bit of everything. First time here and we had tried a beef fajita with guacamole and onions, picadillo, and Carne guisada. They were all delicious. Took a star out because the drive-thru runs slow. Trying the dine in next time.

My pozole was so good, I forgot to take a picture of all the plate we orders so I took one of the aftermath. The "small" bowl of pozole is filling enough to just have it without any other dish. Not knowing this, I also ordered Chilaquiles and it was too much food (you'll see in the pics), i was not a fan of the chilaquiles, my husband ordered a flour tortilla barbacoa taco, good sized portions, meat was lean (not grease) and well seasoned (2 tacos is filling enough for 1 person). The corn tortillas barbacoa taco was a bit greesier than the flour tortillas (idk why). My friend had the fajita and guacamole flour tortillas tacos and they were Very Delicious. Considering we are from a border ciru, we gice it an over all a 9/10 in authentic Mexican cuisine.

Was very surprised at how good the food was. We went for breakfast, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Would definitely recommend if you're on potranco outside 1604.

The Birria tacos are awesome! After I ate them everything felt right with the world. I even love my husband more, haha! Luis, our waiter was awesome which added to the whole experience! Ask for Luis and for the Birria and buckle up!

Luis is amazing, and the food is consistently good. He does amazing margaritas and ask for tarugo to drink it through... you won't be disappointed. I ordered a trio enchilada dinner and my partner ordered the chicken fajita dinner. The tortillas were fresh, and there was nothing left. ASK FOR LUIS FOR CONSISTENT SERVICE.

We came here twice in 4 days, having service on our vehicle done next door, and both times the service was excellent and the same about the food both days. Our entrees, shrimp enchiladas & minitakos with beef were delicious! We also had a margarita on the rocks each time, we were walking, and those were great as well. I have not been to any other location other than the one on Potranco. This was our first time there. Let me begin with the flour tortillas. My goodness! Those tortillas are so good! We had dinner and a couple of drinks. I didn’t take pics of the food or the menu, but here is a brief description: I ordered cheese enchiladas. I loved the rice and the beans. However, I personally prefer American cheese enchiladas, and these are cheddar cheese. I ate the rice and the beans and left most of the enchiladas on my plate. My son ordered beef fajita flameada and it was delicious. Serving sizes are perfect for one person. My fiancé ordered cheese enchiladas also, and he loved them. Our drinks: I ordered a tasty michelada, and it was so good! The picture does not do it justice. The place is very clean and big with plenty of spacing between tables. It was not that busy, so we got pretty quick service from beginning to end. Great place a together!

The food here is good and plentiful. The service was also friendly and helpful. The environment is clean and homie. My family and I enjoyed our experience with this restaurant and we will most definitely be coming back.

There's a cozy ambience here but plenty of space. Sandra's has a circular table in middle of the restaurant reminiscent of Knights of the Round Table. I want to bring 7 of my closet friends and order 5 lbs of fajitas!! The sizzle of the carne, fire from the jalapenos and sweetness of the onions!! Oooh Weeeee. Keep I'm mind, I didn't order fajitas, I'm already thinking about my next trip back . Check out the pics anyways. There's plenty of good dishes to choose from so I'm not going into detail. Watch the traffic in that area from 4pm to 6pm it's congested in that area so take care and drive defensively .

Did not eat food, picked up a delivery order for Uber. Food smelled great. There was quite a wait, many people waiting to be seated in dining and waiting for online and called in orders. Employees working at kiosk when you enter pay little attention to customers, they were super busy around 11am/Saturday...

We had a wonderful lunch today at Sandra's. I enjoy the food here very much but I have them a 4 because sometimes there service is extremely slow and the waitresses hardly ever check on you. Today's service was much better, the best we've had. We had the Brianna special which is a cheese enchilada, fajita meat, rice and beans. We also got the puffy taco plate that was the special for the day. We did have a problem with that plate because my husband asked for chicken but got beef, we were in a hurry so he ate it instead of sending it back. He enjoyed it but would've liked the chicken.

Went on valentines day with family. Very quite right before closing. The staff was friendly and the food choices are standard for mexican restaurants. Very nice decor and atmosphere. Standard free chips and salsa is a plus

Staff was attentive, friendly and courteous, clean bathrooms. I'm not a fan of margaritas, but this one was a 10/10. I recommend the Nachos Supreme and Shrimp enchiladas (not pictured).

Nice spacious restaurant. Went on a Saturday night and it wasn’t too busy. I was skeptical because photos online didn’t look great, but the steak for the fajitas were good. Could’ve just used a little more seasoning. The chips and salsa were generic, not too special. I got the bacon and egg breakfast tacos which were yummy and reasonably priced. Service was fine! Drinks were yummy and strong.

Very loud, very crowded. The food was pretty bland, but you get a lot of it! Our server was great. We had 7 in our party and we were charged a large group gratuity. For this reason I will never go back there. And the server was great I probably would have given him more than the forced tip.

Over all i won't return for breakfast, but I will give the lunch/dinner menu a try.

I haven't visited Sandra's in a while, and this visit I was disappointed. The food is usually on point, but not this time. The tortillas tasted as if they had been reheated and not freshly cooked. The chilquiles was mosltly egg and not much flavor. My bacon and potato taco was only half full. The menudo was ok.

I don't know if they were shorthanded today or what, but the service was terrible. Food was okay and the margaritas were good.

We were regulars at Sandra’s even prior to the remodel. We are taking a break quality control has gone down hill. The service is hit and miss we usually stop there after church on Sundays. Today at 12:25 we sat at table 5 the hostess assured server would come in a bit. After 15 minutes no drink orders my son flagged down a waitress who informed us she was not assigned to that section but would take our order. Which after bringing drinks she took our order. The food is usually well cooked and tasty. However, today I was served burnt rice. I mentioned the issues to the hostess at the front desk on the way out. She informed me next time I should request these waitresses as she pulled out a clipboard with their names.. Not sure if there is too much turnover or inadequate training but bye! I have tried for the second time in while to give them a chance. The Fajita Flameada was so greasy. Almost like they tried to mask all the fat the fajitas had, with the cheese and onions. Sandra's Mexican Food was a first for me. I've had plenty of different options here in Texas but Sandra is different. I was surprised that such a beautiful restaurant serves lack luster Mexican food. The tortillas were more like Pita bread. The rice and beans were flavorless and the meat I ordered was okay at best. I was hoping for more flavors and flair given the size of the building the advertisement and also for how long it's been in the community. I'm glad I had the opportunity to experience this restaurant but like most bad relationships, I will be ghosting this one.

We wanted to give the place a chance after we saw it not busy during the lunch rush. Food was not so great. We ordered tacos and the outside of them were cold. We were also overcharged on a plate that was on special. I asked for cheese on top on my beans, but I was charged for a full side order of cheese that was 2.99.

The manager made excuses about the margaritas they were suppose to be happy hour margaritas and they charged us 20$ for 2 of them and when we brought it to managers attention he didn't care but we didn't know we had to ask for the happy hour ones ! Food was ok unpleasant dealings with manager waitress was like 2 or 3 days new just started there ! Idk if I'll go back disappointed in customer service by manager too !

Go ahead and skip this place. Second time eating here. First time was pretty good: prices are right, food is decent, salsa is nasty and sweet. Second time? Raw chicken gordita. Mistakes happen, but the food isn't good enough to risk it again. Paid for everything else (rude not to) and they took the gordita off the ticket. Service is alright, wait wasn't bad. Mopping next to a table with Fabuloso is a no no, that smell turns any stomach.

I came by after making an order via phone. The restaurant was pretty clean and calm. There wasn’t that many people there. As far as food goes, I can’t say that I really enjoyed my caldo de res because the meat felt aged and was really chewy. Also, the potato wasn’t cooked well or the wrong soup potato was used but I did appreciate that they put a lot of carrots, rice, limes, tortillas, and salsa.

overpriced mexican food :/ no flavor, if u closed ur eyes all you can sense is texture. servers were dismissive/distracted, i guess since it was a monday afternoon? chicken in the flautas was juicy but lacking in flavor. same can be said for the barbacoa. best part? the mexican coke edit: they charged us a dollar for togo boxes 🤣🤣🤣

My first time here and I was looking for a good menudo in the area. Heard a lot about Sandra’s so I decided to try either the tortilla soup or menudo. My waitress said the menudo was more filling so I tried it. To my surprise it was not good at all. I gave it a fair shot but the tripe smelled so bad which means they don’t clean it good enough and also is was super greasy that it made me nauseous. I only ate the tripe because I couldn’t handle all the grease. The ambience was nice with good Latino music and the wait staff and host were super friendly. I’ll come back and try the main dishes and the tortilla soup and hope my Latino taste buds are better served with great taste. Menudo is definitely a NO GO! See pics for evidence.

The server was standing each person shoulder while each of us paid our separate bills. The server did not show any expression or remorse or response to the automatic added gratuity just a dead expression on their face. If you didn't look over your receipt then you would add additional tip. The food was mediocre at best but overall very bland.

Beware...Apparently they charge you for water now and if you get the tortillas before your meal comes out. Waitress was very unattentive and disappeared frequently. She brought the ticket and was no where to be found to take payment. The new feature to pay by phone brought up the wrong ticket. Sept if 2025 we ate there. This time, Sandra's was a hit & miss. In the past we ate there, and the food was excellent! What Happened to the Quality? This time the food was ugly. It was not a good experience for us. We both were ill the next day. I had their puff tacos plate. When they brought them they were cold & the Margarita tasted strange & had a strange smell to it. It tasted tainted. They also brought me ground meat puffy tacos but made a new meal. I asked for tacos with avocados not meat. The waiter was pleasant. My husband had a hamburger with fries. The fries tasted as if they were cooked along with the puffy tacos & were soggy. His burger was good. Our meal was over priced with what we ordered.. I also bought and ordered a dozen corn tortillas to go. Price was around $65.00. Please do not sell food like that. Look at your prices. Please mind the kitchen. What are they doing?

Cannot refund my card for missing items but can absolutely charge it up for items i did not receive, isn't that theft or just incompetence? I called to resolve even the store manager was not great. Dont bother!! There are better restaurants with better service within a short drive. Disappointing to see a local family business run into the ground by poor hiring practices.

We were ignored for 25 minutes. Did not even serve us water. Don’t go here you are better off going ANYWHERE else

It's been awhile since I went to this Restaurant. I came with family and service was not at all great first off. Then we got our food and my wife got Caldo which had paper stuck to the meat. I addressed the situation but the manager wasn't at all respectful. This was very imbrasssing . I have called and called for some kind off response. But the manager is either off or to bust to answer and give a refund on the meal. Hopefully the restaurant will see this and finally act the correct way

Server didn't speak or understand English whic got our order entirely messed up. I had to ask where the kids food was as ours was out already 7 minutes prior and was super cold. Kids burgers were raw. Then the server turned to my friend and started speaking Spanish to her which my friend doesn't speak. Another server had to take over and help. And then they didn't offer any sort of discount after so many instances.

Went to dine in one time and ordered a cucumber martini, I don’t know what they brought me but it definitely wasn’t that. They have a full bar but doesn’t seem like the waitresses/bartenders know what they’re doing back there. Picked up breakfast tacos on another occasion and I don’t know if it was the potatoes or eggs but something tasted old and weird. The green salsa popped open like a bottle of kombucha it was definitely spoiled!! Would not recommend coming here there’s better options.

I have enjoyed the food at one point the past but as of now the problem is with my call in orders,. Evertime I have to wait longer than usual while other customers are coming in and out. I don't recommend this restaurant if your time is important to you and accurate orders

Where to Start? I had high hopes for my visit, but my experience fell short in several areas that could use improvement. The initial reception felt unwelcoming, and the long wait for service, even when the restaurant wasn’t busy, was disappointing. When our order was finally taken, the waiter struggled with the order-taking device, which may indicate a need for better training. We ordered natural juices and coffee, but ended up with bottled juices and coffee that lacked cream and sugar. It would be helpful to clarify on the menu that orange juice comes from bottles instead of being freshly squeezed. When the juices were eventually served in glasses with ice, they appeared to be the same bottled varieties, which left me feeling unsatisfied. Additionally, my coffee was still without creamers, and when I asked for some, our waiter was changed instead of the issue being addressed. My son’s barbacoa tacos were not up to par, and my daughter’s pancakes were undercooked, which was surprising. Overall, this experience did not meet my expectations. As a local resident for over a year, I regret giving this restaurant a chance, but I believe that with some adjustments in service and food quality, it could become a better dining option. I share this feedback based on my objective experiences at various restaurants, hoping it can lead to positive changes.

We went on a weekday and it wasn’t busy. However, the waiter was as super inattentive. He wasn’t very friendly. The food was just blah. The cheese in the enchiladas wasn’t even melted. The cheeseburger was barely edible. We took left overs for the dog. I didn’t wanna leave a tip but my toddler made a mess at the table so I tipped for that. I wouldn’t go back here and definitely do not recommend. Waste of money.

After we were sat and ordered our drinks, 10 minutes later we ordered our food, 45 minutes later we finally got our food out. Never offered to refill our drinks, food was kinda cold. The pozole we ordered was cold, as far as I know the pozole comes with hominy and not sure if we had to ask for some when we ordered because there were maybe only 4 tiny ones. Horrible experience. Other tables got their food way before we did even though they got here after us. Won't be coming here again thats for sure.

Ordered though their drive through and told me to move up and they would bring out my order in 6 min..took them 22 min

i ordered 2 plates for pickup at drive thru on phone, chicken enchiladas, chicken flautas, and a orchata. i was charged $33.00 and its only a 2 enchilada plate. at least give me 3 geeze. and then they refused to give me a receipt when i questioned the order because at first they thought i ordered a carne quisada plate with it. and i had to tell them no i didnt order that. so i have no receipt as well it just seemed scandalous.

Unfortunately, the quality of their service and taste of the food is not able to keep up with the new restaurants popping up on Potranco. Food service was delayed, plates were cold and I saw somebody arguing about waiting for 30 minutes for a called in to go order. Supervisor on duty seem flustered and was not handling the situation well. Five years ago, I would’ve given this place four stars.

We were regulars, my waiter was very rude. Everything I asked for he acted like he didn’t want to help. When we got our food he forgot to drain the water out of the lettuce, which made everything soggy. I sat back and watched how he treated people. Us and another table were white, and we got treated different than everyone else. Sad but we won’t be coming back.

Avocado was whipped with some kind of preservation. They had no guacamole. So I had to make my own with this pico del Gallo that looked like it was cut out of day old prepped ingredients from the day before. Rice was under cooked, lil hard. Beans were definitely canned, the mole was way too sweet and tastes like it needed chicken broth to make it smoother. Renting the space out for events would be a good thing to keep ingredients fresh if it's a cutting into their payroll. Flour tortillas were good. Enchiladas were a step down from the NISD recipe

Just saying y’all should definitely check your bags before leaving the drive thru because if you find out later when u get home and try to come back, they won’t even acknowledge the mistake of your order and just tell you to come back tomorrow like your not hungry right there “bring me actual order, that YOU messed up… please” not trying to be that person but this sucks so much when your just trying to eat the meal you ordered :(

Food is decent but some staff and management are highly under trained in customer service. The manager Christina is rude and doesn’t know how to address issues, get it together girl, you’re making this restaurant lose business.

I ordered food in the drive-thru to-go. My order was simple, a kids plate and 2 bean tacos. Came out to $13-something. However, my bank statement showed $18-something. When I called to speak to management regarding these charges, I got pushed off from person to person only to be asked to come in some days later to speak to the GM. IF I had the time, I would have. BUYERS BEWARE!!! These people are overcharging customers who are none-the-wiser and who don’t actually check their statements. I won’t go back there again.

I usually don’t have issues with Mexican restaurants because I love Mexican food—but not when you try to fool a Mexican! Papas rancheras aren’t just fried potatoes with ranchera sauce on top. And a chilaquiles taco should have diced tomatoes, chile, onions, and cheese—not just red tortillas pretending to be tomatoes. What I received was basically a migas taco with cheese. I feel bad for people who may not know authentic Mexican food, because places like this can easily mislead customers. In that case the Las Palapas is a better choice than this restaurant!!!

After waiting for the order for 35 minutes, when I asked when my order would be ready, SOFIA said if you don't want to wait, cancel the order.. What kind of communication is THIS? After waiting 35 minutes? Why do you employ someone who has no training in communicating with people?.. There are really better places than here, don't waste your money here...

Racism comes in many colors. I'm Caucasian and my husband is Hispanic. We went for brunch today, so I ordered coffee. She brings out a blue standard regular coffee cup. While it does have the Sandra's logo on it, it's just a regular coffee cup. There are two other tables with only Hispanics at them ordering coffee. She brings them out the nice decorative ceramic coffee mugs. I asked her why I'm the only one who received a different mug and she tells me it's because all the other nicer one's were dirty at the time. The restaurant was pretty empty and we all ordered about the same time. You need to do better. The entire experience was poor. I'm pretty sure any one of your employees would like being treated that way by a different race.

Our 1st visit here was upsetting. After 10 minutes of being seated, I had to get up to tell the girls in the front that no one had even acknowledged us and everyone who walked in after us had already been attended to. We ordered our food and drinks with a young lady from the front who offered to take our order but then forgot what we ordered. Finally a waitress comes to take our order....again. Other than my lengua ranchera taco having carne guisada gravy, everything else was good. We weren't checked on at all after our order was brought to us. Since this was our 1st visit there we weren't sure if our waiter was going to bring us our check. We got up to pay in the front where we were presented with a check that wasn't ours. So frustrating when people can't do their job right. Note to the girls' working in the front, you are the 1st ones customers see when they walk in. You stuffing your face with food is not professional when you're trying to greet and seat your customers

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE TACOS!! I just ordered via phone order. They made me pay ahead of time which I understand because it was $70. HOWEVER, if you make me pay ahead of time for my order WHY NOT MAKE IT CORRECT? They got my order wrong and then the other tacos were cold. The potato and egg was cold. The bacon was hard and cold. My kids tacos which were the barbacoa ones were so greasy that the taco was falling apart and breaking and full of mainly fat. They threw them away and didn’t even eat them. I will not come here again. And then when I call they just say the same ole line “can you come back for your replacement?” Ugh because it’s so convenient to just go back. “Can you give us food that’s worth 70$ please? How about that?!?! They say they charge ahead of time because people order and don’t show up for big orders yet where’s our coverage when we place a big order and it’s trash?!? Basically I just lost out this morning and they could care less. NOT COMING HERE AGAIN. We were better off eating at home which we plan to start doing more because of these issues.

Lovely restaurant but terrible food. You will not be satisfied, the food lacks flavor. The produce I ordered was just limes for my already terrible mini tacos plate and the lime itself was very old, tasted like a fridge in my opinion. My asada meat was the worst. I didn’t touch my plate, nor did my husband touch his. We still paid for the terrible plates although the waiters did realize we didn’t touch any of the plates besides our first terrible bites. I do not recommend this restaurant. 0 stars. Don’t even understand how this business is going. This complaint is not about the service. This complaint is not about the establishment. This complaint is not regarding any workers at Sandra’s. This bad review on Sandra’s is about how terrible their food is. Changes need to be made to their product. I am not the only person in their area that has stated this restaurant has terrible food.
