Ce que disent les clients de Mizu
Mizu is a popular Japanese restaurant known for its fresh sushi, generous portions, and friendly service, especially from "Mommy" and her family. Customers praise the value for the price, though some note the decor is lacking. The salmon special and Mimi Crunch roll are favorites.

the server was a sweet grandma and was the sweetest woman ever. the sushi was amazing and super fresh. thank you so much! even gave us oranges for free :) super homey
We have enjoyed coming to this restaurant multiple times! The salmon nigiri is delicious as well as the Poseidon roll. We also really enjoy the miso soup and stir fry noodles. The service is great and staff are very friendly and great location.
Hands down my favorite sashimi joint in SD. This place does not hold back on portions so make sure you go hungry. I had the secret menu - a Korean sashimi experience. You have to order ahead to experience IYKYK and what I can say is the sashimi is fresher than what i had in the motherland. Super grateful this restaurant exists!
LOVED this place so yum so good prices fabulous service from two iconic divas caring courteous kind cool AH what not to say thank you for the yummy jasmine tea in cutie cups, the caterpillar the salmon the EVERYTHING! we left so full and spent $44 for two people came with miso soup YES fortune cookies and oranges and chocolates YESYESYES
Great little place for sushi! Good price and delicious! Staff was friendly! Loved my sushi rolls and the little orange they give you!
Came in just under an hour to close (sorry!), but they were very nice and accommodating. The fish was fresh. The portions were HUGE. Ordered three rolls and some sashimi. The salmon belly was great. Couldn’t finish all the rolls but I desperately wanted to!
Great sushi and sashimi. Great prices as well. Service was good and fast Update: This is the only place in Mission Beach I'll go for sushi. Their quality and services is perfect. The rest of the sushi places just do not compare to here. Thank you Mizu!
My children and I really enjoyed eating at this restaurant! From the moment we walked in the staff were eager to serve us and sit us down. We ended up ordering a lot of sushi and my kids and I devoured it all. I think naturally sushi is a little more pricey, so I wasn’t startled by the prices, but at the same time I was pleasantly surprised because I figured given this place’s location that it was going to charge more. Drinks were never empty, service was always prompt, and the ocean breeze coming in through the open windows set the perfect tone for the vacation that was starting. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Love this place! My family has been coming here since 2010. We are always greeted by “Mommy” and her family. You can tell a lot about a place when Asian people eat there. My favorite is the salmon special. KIDS LOVE THE MIMI CRUNCH! My husband doesn’t like sushi so he gets the chicken cutlet, which is a full meal, including rice, salad (really fresh greens with a light dressing), and miso soup. We have tried many items over the years and have always liked everything. Great, quick service. Fun place for a large group too.
This restaurant is the most comfortable and delicious spot you can find in the area. The Korean dishes are especially outstanding. I’ve tried the Korean-style short ribs and several types of soup, and everything was authentic and generously portioned. The rolls and sushi are also excellent—great quality for the price. I think the photos speak for themselves when it comes to the taste. And the orange slices they serve at the end are always a sweet and refreshing touch. 5 STARS!
We came here because it was down the road from where we were having a conference at. I am not a huge sushi fan because I do not eat fish. We came in and the people working were super sweet. I ordered spring rolls and a cucumber roll. The spring rolls were great and the sauce it came with was good. The cucumber roll was awesome and tasted great. My food came out pretty quickly after ordering, which I appreciated. My partner ordered real sushi and it looked really good, the presentation was nice. The only thing I would say about this place was that our bill had an automatic 20% gratuity on it, which I thought was interesting given it was just me and my partner who dined. I tip at minimum 20%, so it was not a big deal to me, but I thought that it should be mentioned.
Skip the overpriced sushi at Belmont Park and head over here for great food, great service, and great vibes! We found this place by accident while we were waiting for another restaurant, but there was no wait at Mizu so we decided to eat here instead. The first thing we noticed was the menu was way more affordable (and they had more options). The second thing we noticed was the portions were huge! I got the Korean sashimi poke bowl and everyone said it was massive. Absolutely great value and the servers are very friendly—they gave us complementary fruit when the meal was over. I don’t usually post reviews but this place was so good I had to. Definitely coming here again!
Beautiful location right by the beach and Belmont Park. Food was delicious and I got plenty for my money. I had leftovers for sure. But I couldn't stop eating till I was full. The waitress was attentive and very sweet. The Only downside was the lack of decor and it was stuffy inside.
If you’re craving some Authentic asian food after lying or surfing at the beach, I would recommend this not so secret Korean/japanese restaurant. Definitely more affordable and delicious than the restaurants in front of the beach. It’s been here for a long time for a reason, and it’s because the food is good and service is good.
Stopped by for some dinner. Serving sizes were really big and overall was a good value. The food was pretty tasty. I liked the Korean beef a lot. The stir fry beef and sesame chicken weren't as good. The vibe is a bit "run down" and there are some intimidating notes emphasizing no refunds even if you are unsatisfied with your dish (which was a bit off-putting), but once you're in there the service was great.
Was really hoping for this place to be good! Food was average. Average sushi and the korean beef I got was not authentic nor tasty. The sushi was okay I'll give it a 6/10 since the sushi was falling apart when we were trying to eat it. Rice was not intact, taste was okay. The miso soup was excellent! However, I left kind of disappointed in what we ordered. Service was amazing! Sushi: 6/10 Miso soup: 9/10 Gyoza: 8/10 Korean beef dish: 4/10
We’ve been talking about how we wanted to try this place and finally took a chance on it… the food is very overpriced. The terriyaki chicken breast was spongy and overall a terrible texture. the salad was disgusting (personal opinion), the miso soup was mid. both things of sushi either had gross rice or just wasn’t well made. overall this place is a waste of money and time. go get takka sushi in santee 😭
