We originally came when they had first opened. As we suspected they were still trying to figure things out and the experience was sub par. We decided to wait a little bit for them to find their flow as a restaurant and upon returning tonight a couple months later i will say we had a phenomenal experience. The food was incredible and the service excellent. Everything was timely and fresh. The bill came to $101.49 for 2 appetizers, 3 meals, 1 beer, 1 whiskey sour and a few soft drinks. Will definitely be back regularly!
Absolutely fantastic place to eat. The bbq burnt ends and brisket was fabulous, and the Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. The salad bar has a lot of options, the dressing all super. I wish I could have eaten more, but will be great as leftovers. Service was also great, sat at the bar and always had a drink filled. They have a great outdoor space too with a fire pit! Can’t wait to come back to try it out with a band in a Saturday night.
I can’t say enough good things about this place! From the moment you walk in, you feel the warmth and passion that went into creating this restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy and give a great western vibe, perfect for both a casual night out or a special occasion. The food? Incredible. Every dish is clearly made with love and attention to detail. You can taste the freshness in every bite, and the flavors are perfectly balanced. The chef even brought out a sample of homemade chips for us to try which I hope goes on the menu!!!! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your dining experience. You’re not just another customer here—you’re treated like family. So proud of what my friend has built here. This is more than just a restaurant; it’s a place people will come back to again and again. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor and go! I’m already planning my next visit!
A rustic jewel in Schaghticoke with a laid-back BBQ vibe, great live music, and a full bar serving standout cocktails. The penne a la vodka and tender brisket were highlights, and every entrée comes with two sides and an endless salad bar (normally an $18 value!). Fresh produce, full cobs of corn, and hearty portions at reasonable prices—plus top-notch service. A spot you’ll want to come back to.

Hands down amazing restaurant. My husband ordered more food while still eating his entree. The were slammed and the chef came out to take our drink order and the waitress we had was amazing with the two kids at the table. Super down to earth. We had no idea the restaurant was there but after a long few hours at a monster truck event, eating and meeting the staff was great. They didn’t kick up a fuss when the boys were playing with their new monster trucks and our waitress apologized for the long drink wait and had no problem with changing my order to something a little simpler. Thank you so much for a great visit with friends and great food! We will be back soon!
We are locals and decided to try this tonight for the first time. Some reviews are a little harsh for a newly opened business. Steak was cooked to perfection for medium. We loved everything and we plan to eat in soon. I hope this place sticks around. I won't have to drive all the way to Clifton Park for a good steak.
We came in tonight 8/6. First time trying. The brisket was amazing, and the salad bar was very clean and lots of choices. Only seemed to be two servers on, and it was pretty busy. We didn’t have to wait at all for drinks, or food. Sarah was our server and she was hilarious with a lot of personality, She even was behind the bar being very attentive to all and making drinks. Great service. We will definitely be back. If you go, try the brisket. You won’t be let down.
My wife and had our 4th wedding anniversary dinner at the Oldpost40 last night and the whole experience was excellent. The service was great, drinks were perfect and the food was fresh and full of flavor. They also help our small family farm with food scraps daily. It is refreshing to still have local businesses helping those in the community.
I was hesitant to go here do to the reviews. I’d rather find out myself. I must say I was overly impressed by the service, waitress was great. Funny and fast. Salad bar was good. I ordered steak medium rare. It was tender n delicious 😋. My husband got burnt tips that was really delicious 😋 tender, smoked flavor. When you get entrees you get 2 sides. You can pick soup or salad bar. I love ❤️ !! Ty for bringing good food n decent price back to locals ❤️
Went for lunch yesterday. The onion rings were to die for. I had the reuben sandwich which was excellent. Bread was toasted to perfection and did not get soggy at all. The rest of my crew had the same experience. Definitely worth it. Looking forward to going back for dinner.
Very good food and service! Friendly staff and great price. A home town setting! My wife and daughter and I enjoyed a great dinner on Valentines day. Very good on all areas! Thank you!

Me and my husband stopped in this afternoon for lunch and all we can say is WOW! Food was delicious, and fast. Restaurant is clean. Our waitress Sarah was phenomenal, and very fast paced. Only server on and she didn’t miss a single thing all around! She recommended the Brisket, and it’s the best we have had! Will be returning!
I ate here 1 day ago. I had the brisket entree and the wife had BBQ ribs. The brisket was excellent, big portions. Salad bar and two sides come with it. I will be back. Prices are reasonable.
Very friendly staff, the brisket was very tender and better than i was expecting, just a little bit dry. The food overall is good, just a bit overpriced for the portions, this was roughly $27~

Had a great experience…good food variety and a salad bar included with dinner entrees. The jalapeño poppers were a standout— made and grilled/charred in-house. Salmon was cooked perfectly. Sweet potato wedges were crispy outside and creamy inside.
The atmosphere and staff attentiveness was amazing and the good was really good. The boneless bbq wings were a tad dry but still really good. I just feel that for once soda, an order of fries, the wings and mozzarella sticks that fourty bucks is a tad pricey. But well worth it for the awesome service.

Nice place but wow was the portion small for a pretty pricey appetizer. I order boneless wings and they were small chunks of chicken on a small round plate that were literally enough to call a side. I was hoping for the normal bar portion and im pretty disappointed. $8 would have been reasonable for the portion but $14.00?? Thats way too much . I wont be ordering food here again but the bloody Mary was enjoyable. Also it was $15 which was pricey for Titos vodka . Lesson learned
Waitress only had one other table before us, and one after us. Waited 15 minutes to have order taken, and another 15 minutes for drinks. Appetizers were good but offset by the fact they had news playing on the jumbo television with images of bloody body bags from the Gaza strip with my 9 year olds watching. Then dinner came....the $24 Mac and cheese with chicken that my kids split came out in two ramekin sized bowls that were so small I could barely believe my eyes. I could have held more food in one of my kid's cupped hand. Our empty waters sat on the table for 30 minutes while the waitress complained about the kitchen staff to her colleague not 6 feet from our table. My wife asked for an espresso Martini at waited for 30 minutes. When we were done with our food (2 hours after being seated with 9 year olds on a school night) we told her to cancel the order and give us the check. When I complained about the size of the order that my kids split for $24, she said "Yeah, that's the price, sorry." We will NOT be going back. Definitely do not recommend.
We ordered the pulled pork mac and cheese, chili and corn bread and nachos. The pulled pork and chili were okay, although it came with cold cornbread, but the nachos were terrible. It came out in a huge keg so you thought they were going to be good, but quite the opposite. It was a 16$ for nachos that came with like an entire bag of chips and toppings to barely cover the first layer. The nacho cheese was disgusting, and cold. I added chicken and the few baby pieces of chicken were completely dried out and unedible, and moved to the side of the plate. The waitress while friendly, never came to check on us until we were done. Otherwise I would have sent the nachos back. I did mention to her they were not good. For being the most expensive thing I ordered, pretty disappointing.
We met friends for dinner here, around 4:30 on a Thursday. We like to choose a different local restaurant every couple of weeks. There was one other table occupied when we got there, and only one other couple came in while we were there, so it was anything but busy. Our server was friendly, and he seated us and got our drinks. Three of us ordered the brisket, and my husband got the burnt ends. My husband and I went to the salad bar. The lighting was poor in the corner where the salad bar was, but you could see that the mac salad and potato salad had been there a while, and the surface of each had dried. Some of the containers were empty. I got some romaine, beets and cranberries and some thousand island dressing. The dressing had turned. I let one of the servers know my concerns, and she started working to correct it. When the food came, we could see that the brisket was dry. So dry. I had read reviews saying the brisket was so good. Maybe it was not fresh? My husband's burnt ends were very fatty. We took the brisket home, maybe I can do something with it...I hate to waste anything. We did not complain about the brisket. Our friends were treating (we take turns) and they were disappointed, but never complain. My friend and I were trying to come up with ways to save the brisket from the garbage. There was no credit given for the lousy salad. I was not offered anything in place of it. We have had dinner here a few times over the past few years. Never really anything great. We won"t be back.

We stopped in for a quick bite and a cocktail. Ordered a kaulaha and milk and a Quesadilla. Waitress informed me there wasn't enough to make a drink, was nice enough to to ask if I'd like to try an alternative and I said no was served a glass of iced milk, then ordered water to drink because I didn't ask for a glass of iced milk, as for the quesadilla it was burned black, Husband ordered Bourbon and water and boneless chicken, his drink was excellent the boneless chicken looked like leftover chicken scraps someone thought to battered. Won't be going back. The sad thing was they are cateres, so the signs inside suggest. Way overpriced! Menu not so special for the trip. Someone sunk alot of money into this pit.

While the ambiance of the restaurant was nice, the food was horrid. Brisket came out dry, the fries were cold, there was no seasoning on the collard greens, the mac n cheese was flavorless, and the pretzel sticks with the “ beer cheese” was repulsive. Don’t advertise beer cheese when it’s a can of cheap nacho cheese. The server was friendly but knew absolutely nothing about the menu and drinks. Servers should be familiar with the WHOLE menu including drinks. Avoid this place. We will never be back.

Wife and I are local in the area and we were excited to experience the new ownership. Thought we would grab a quick lunch on our way out town.......quick lunch turned into a 2 hr total waiting 45 minutes for a burger and fries and a pulled pork sandwich with fries. Burger was cooked to order. pulled pork was very bland and obviously microwaved so not sure why the wait, as there was only a few people in addition to us. Food finally came out little on the small portion side I would say, missing the BBQ sauce for pulled pork and burger was missing the lettuce. As far as the wait staff not personable at all came to seat us while chewing her food. As mentioned above forgetting some ingredients for our plates, lack of attention to detail. Not to mention I watched as 2 other parties left she picked up the plates from the table then brought out new settings and placed them right back on the table no washing it down or disinfecting or sweeping up from under the table. We did not get a warm welcoming feeling customer service is sub par at best. Also there is only a small menu available before 4 pm not many choices. Will be surprised to see them open for longer than a year if they don't address some issues and get more professional. Best of luck to any and all that venture here hope you have a better experience.
