The food was great, portions were huge. Food had flavor. Atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The owner accutaly comes out and interacted with customers. First time visit, not the last! Recommending if in area!
The wife and I both had the biscuits and gravy breakfast combo. It's a bit pricey but it fed us both for two meals. The service was great. Didn't feel rushed or ignored, but there was only two other tables that were occupied when we got there and only 1 waitress working. 15-20 people piled in as we were leaving. Not sure how it went after that.
I was there for happy hour and the food was amazing. The drink prices were also really good with the happy hour discount The band that night was pretty good and from what I hear they have some pretty good live music regularly. The service was friendly and efficient also.
For Our 1st time. It was awesome 👌🏻. The food was delicious, we ordered the sampler I got the beef flautas, onion rings, these corn cream cheese puffs and wings in mango habamero & sweet chili. It was delicious especially those puff balls. Yum Very good.. Then Shrimp Aguachiles ceveche, really good. I enjoyed it and my hubby got the california burrito. Which he enjoyed. Good portions fair prices. Our server was the sweetest doll, thank you Audrey, you made our lunch very pleasant and sorry for spilling my drink. The autosphere was calm. Nice music in background. It wasn't so loud that you couldn't have a conversation with your table. Server was ontop of things, we didn't have to find her or ask for refills just awesome. We definitely will be coming back. I highly recommend you try it..
This restaurant is a 100% must try. I went for breakfast with my Wife, Daughter and father in law. We tried different items and everything was absolutely incredible. I highly recommend trying their twist on the eggs Benedict. I will be going back for more.
I went to Steele 94 and was delightfully surprised by the appearance of the Lefty Martin and his right hand band and equally impressed by the staff at the bar (Shay) and how friendly they were. The prices were fair and the atmosphere was great!!! Y'all keep up the fantastic service and keep the wonderful music, and you are guaranteed to become a huge success in no time. Totally awesome job guys !!!
Fantastic food, excellent service and the atmosphere was great! The owner even made it a point to come over and chat with us, great guy! You'll love the food, tastes great and good size portions!
My husband and I we tied the menudo and it was soso delicious we recommend to others who likes Mexican menudo
Very nice ambiance, cute decorations. Food was amazing and very big portions for the price. The owner Miguel, stop by and said hi to us. LOTS of breakfast options and other varieties like American food and Mexican. Definitely stop by!
Had 4 breakfast weekday specials and the portions are large, the food is very well prepared and soo tasty. The quality of the food is the highest quality. Scrambled eggs are delicious and fluffy, I can't believe that the pork chops come with a super large gravy container. The gravy was so tasty and it has sausage in it. The bacon strips are thick and tasty, Pancakes are fluffy and fresh. The sausage are so tasty and high quality meat. Can't say enough of the preparation, taste and quality of the food. The staff is awesome and very friendly with a hometown feeling.
Charlyne is the bartender I have ever met in my entire life. I would never come here because I’m a city girl and I stop at a saloon every time I visit my horse will need to see her. She has the best service, the best energy and the most positive attitude, and not to mention the best drinks ever. If you come here and she’s not here go home.
Dude, if you’re looking for the BEST Bisquits & Country Gravy, look no further. This hyper local and adorable eatery hits its five year anniversary mark today on October 19, 2025. Nestled in the heart of Jamul just five minutes from Jamul Casino. The best build your own omelette and strawberry and whip, whipped cream topped malt waffle was insane. But what really made this place great was the personable service from Brooke and Owner Miquel coming out to greet each guest with a warm and genuine welcoming. Give this place a try when you’re in the area, you’ll thank me! They have a strong military presence and support our troops plus tonight - live music! #Omelette #Breakfast #BiscuitsAndGravy #Waffle #Coffee #FullBar #MeetingVenue #LocalEats #jamul #restaurant
Miguel and his staff go above and beyond to accommodate their dining guests, whether you are there for breakfast, lunch or dinner; it’s all good food. Steele 94 sits along Highway 94 on the axis of Jamul, Rancho San Diego and Spring Valley, and is a true road house along the historic highway; which is also known as Campo Road and the Old Spanish Trail. Live music, game day, or hosting a private event; this local eatery aims to please. I’ve called Jamul home since 1992, and appreciate business owners like Miguel who put their hearts into the community.
Great non-pretentious bar and grill style restaurant. Perfect for having lunch after a hike in the county. I liked all the different seating areas that made it feel like if you moved over a few feet you'd be in a new place. Reasonable prices and even though the staff wasn't overly friendly I can also appreciate genuine personalities. Keep up the good work!
Diverse menu from breakfast to burgers, from Mexican food to chicken wings, from seafood to sandwiches. The food here is delish and the service is darn right hospitable. Spacious dining area. Very popular with locals. Live music entertainment. Ordered the Mexican Philli with French fries. The fries were golden crispy. I will definitely be returning with my whole crew 🦜🏴☠️ Yar!!!
Phenomenal food and service!!! I came in for a late lunch and was greeted by the owner Miguel, who lured me in with a delicious smelling steak he was cooking up on their outdoor smoker grill. Brooke, the waitress and bartender gave exceptional service! I mentioned I liked the olives in my bloodymary so she totally surprised me with an extra full skewer of them! Their bloodymary mix is homemade, I asked for mine to be spicy and she did it very well! I ordered the verde pozole that was fantastic and freshly made with all the fixings - Freddy is an excellent chef! I also ordered the elote bites and I agree with the menu description - an absolute favorite! Moderate sized bites of elote goodness sprinkled with some cotija and a homemade creamy chipotle sauce for dipping. I also ordered their wings and went with the mango habenero sauce that was absolutely delicious - perfect mix of heat & sweet over savory delicious crispy wings, served with an ample portion of homemade delicious ranch dressing good enough to scrape the last bite of! When I saw the sign. American and Mexican food, I was unsure if it'd be disappointing Americanized Mexican dishes...nope, the sign is exactly correct, their menu is a separate mix of delicious authentic GREAT Mexican food AND delicious homemade GREAT American food. The atmosphere is perfect to chill and catch any type of TV you'd like to watch, mix of sports, classic movies, the news, and more. Steele 94 offers a wide range of exquisite bourbons, whiskeys, and other fine liquor classics and draft beers. But wait there's more.... WATER IS FILTERED AND FRESH!!! Most places serve tap water that tastes like chemicals, Steele 94 serves refreshing filtered water that tastes like you're drinking straight from a mountain spring - no residues or floating chemicals in the water or ice! Nestled in a quaint area at the bottom of the mountains, there are other nearby great and unbeatable shopping for other goods such as produce and farm supplies, and of course my favorite veterinarian is right across the street, Steele Canyon Vet. I could go on and on raving about this place, but it's better to come and get the best dining experience for yourself!!! Plenty of parking available, and very affordable for such exceptional quality. See pics below for current menu and foodie pics :)
I have lived in East County my entire life. I am always looking for something 'different', something that stands out from the rest, a hidden gem, if you will. I had heard of Steele 94 many times and heard great things about it. I/ we finally went out to try it. I was in love with the place the second we walked in the door. It had a great feel to it and it was very welcoming. Speaking of welcoming, the owner Miguel greeted us and we were sold! We had breakfast as it is my favorite meal of the day and we were not disappointed. We enjoyed our time there so much, we returned for dinner. Once we got out of the car we were hit by the intoxicating aroma of the outdoor grill. Guess who was manning the grill, that's right- Miguel! We had a tremendous dinner and a great evening. I do believe I have found that hidden gem I have been looking for. We will be back, and very soon!
Great place to stop in for a drink and a bite. Shirlene was a very friendly and courteous server. Music playing was just right for a laid back but festive mood.
Apparently, under recent ownership change, when I happened to stop by for breakfast. Big menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Our breakfast was huge & included 3 types of meats, potatoes, eggs AND French Toast. I had a simpler eggs & bacon, w potatoes. Delicious & worth a trip back for drinks & dinner. Full bar w indoor & outdoor seating.
Absolutely love this cute eatery! Great food, nice country style ambiance and great service. Yet, they have an interesting 4% credit surcharge even when u pay cash.
Cinco de Mayo was so much fun! My Carne Asada Tacos were great and the service was very friendly and conscientious! My first time there but I'll be back soon. 👍❤️🙃

Dude!! What a spectacular cafe with excellent food.I love the breakfast menu . The pork chops & eggs are the bomb!! Now, order a beer and bang! Such a fun place to hang out, great work Miguel.
There’s a particular kind of quiet that only shows up on rainy Saturday mornings—the kind that makes the world feel softer and a little more forgiving. I needed a drive, so I headed out and found myself at Steele 94 Restaurant Bar, the perfect escape for a slow, peaceful start to the day. The breakfast here is everything you want on a morning like this: simple ingredients, exceptional freshness, and a kind of calm you just can’t buy. If you’re looking to trade chaos for comfort, this is the place. I highly recommend the Pork Chop & Eggs with Country Gravy, paired with a side of Belgian waffles—my personal favorite. The flavors hit all the right notes, and the cozy atmosphere makes the whole meal feel like a warm blanket on a rainy day. A delicious breakfast, a quiet drive, and the kind of morning that stays with you.
I love this quaint little roadside diner/Cafe. I generally stop here for brunch. Shayna is a great and friendly server and Miguel is a great owner.
If you are the kind of person that likes to try new places. You should try steel 94 restaurant. Its the type of place that you will keep on coming. The service is great and the food is amazing.

They’re usually very good with customer service. Came in today and was disappointed. Today…if you weren’t the bartenders friend, service didn’t exist. This lady did not care in the slightest about service. Asked for a shot and a chaser. She mixed the chaser with the shot. She said she’d fix it. About 20 minutes later she did after talking to her friends at the bar. Whoever this person is…she’s not friendly, she’s not polite, and not a good bartender. The other 2 bartenders are great.
My wife and I would always drive by when this restaurant was the Greek Sombrero, I believe, and the establishment would always be busy. We decided to give the restaurant a try even though it is no longer the previous restaurant. We walked through the doorway and waited for staff to seat us but were told to have a seat where ever we liked. Our experience when told this is that the wait staff typically forgets you arrive and it takes a while to get tended to as such was the case this time. We must have waited a good 15 min before menus were delivered and our drink order taken. The food also took a while to arrive, I'm not sure if they were short on kitchen staff or what, but the owner Miguel had stopped by our table to serve us coffee and to let us know they had a large party before us and that is what was causing the delay in getting our food. We weren't in a hurry so decided to wait and see how good the food was. We notice another table got tired of waiting and got up and left. The food was delicious and worth the wait. We had the chile relleno omelet and chilaquiles plate and a side of biscuits and gravy. The portions are large and I could only finish about 80% of my plate and wife about 50%. We'll be back again to give it another try, but wait staff needs to try and be more attentive to the customers, especially on refills and updates on their order. Good luck Miguel your establishment has the ambiance and food for a good restaurant but the wait staff needs to do better.
Stopped by for breakfast. Service was great. Food was really good. We felt like our dishes could have been a little more seasoned but we added salt and that improved things. Overall great - huge servings and loved the fruit. Would go back.
The good: The food was amaizing and the waitress knew the menu and was able to help me decide on vegetarian meal. They had a live band and they were awesome for the time that I was there. The bad: the location popped up when I searched spring valley .... this is not in Spring Valley. The ugly: 6 dollar fountain drinks and NO air-conditioning...... the bathroom was like a tin can. Atmosphere would have gotten a 3 star if the band didn't make up for it.
This place is really best for breakfast. I had the cowboy burger, and while it wasn't bad, it was heavy on the BBQ sauce. I've had the biscuits and gravy though, that's what you really wanna get, so visit during breakfast. The fries were really good too. The owner talked to us as we were leaving, nice guy, who values feedback.

The staff were very friendly. I even got the pleasure of meeting the owner. Nice man. The portions were generous, the food was very good, and it was a great experience.

The food was a hit and miss. The steak nachos were not that great. The chicken ones were a little better. The service was mediocre. The brunette waitress seemed very rude and not interested in doing her job. The blonde waitress was great! We were sitting in the band section and it was very loud. The whole place seemed disconnected with the band section and the bar area.
First time. Tried breakfast around 10a on Monday. Plenty seats in open air tables, lots of TV's. Friendly service. Ordered two different plates. Biscuit and gravy basically firm biscuit and gravy without chunks of sausage pancakes were awesome, rich vanilla taste. Eggs bacon on point. Value was good. Will have to return again to see if would make it a recommend.

I have been here a few times. The owner Miguel is a very friendly man! With that being said today I had Melody as our server. She is not friendly at all. First she asked my name but didn't ask my boyfriend his name until after I looked at him several times. Then after we ordered and we were waiting for our food, which she didn't even bring out. The server who is the bartender brought our food out. My food was cold, while my boyfriend's was hot. If I ever come back I will make sure to ask for any server other than Melody!
Ate here once and the food was decent and the service was good. Only reason I won't be returning is the annoying 4% surcharge. Just raise your prices! Don't be dishonest with a little bitty fine print on the bottom of the menu of charging people for nonsense. This is not being upfront with your menu prices.
Last time coming here. Just not satisfactory. I have been here over 3 times and there is always something disappointing about the experience. They need someone in the kitchen that knows what they are doing. I ordered the eggs Benedict rancho benny on English muffin and it was drowned in sauce I just couldn't enjoy it because everything tasted like the sauce and soggy. I hardly ate it sent it back with the recommendation to put the sauce on the side. They didn't offer to take it off the bill or replace it with anything... they are definitely loosing my business for sure after this sloppy experience...
Nice place and clean but the worst thing ever is so many FLIES a lot!!! Food was okay but it took about 45mins to just order and over an hour to get the food! Did I mention flies!!!
We went there for the first time and no one even acknowledged we were there after about 5 minutes we decided to leave.
