Listen, if you are talking straight up pizza, no specialty pies then in Troy you're talking Red Front or I Love. I love Red Front's apps but the cob pie is the main attraction. Upfront note: the sauce is a little sweet, nothing big but if thats not your thing, be aware.
Are you kidding me I've been going to red front for as long as I was able to drink .... The food is is always good and in a mom and pop Italian style setting Trust me you will not regret it. EAT AN BE MERRY, MOST OF ALL ENJOY
A staple of Troy, more particularly South Troy, for generations. Wonderful Prime Rib Friday and Saturday, great Classic Italian Fare the rest of the time, with ample drinks, great service and a 1950's retro décor. Go there and enjoy the whole shebang!
Best C.O.B pizza. For anyone who dont know its cheese on bottom.pizza is great as well.40 years eating the same pie. Everytime I come home I get 3 24 cuts. Red front is my comfort food.
Love the pizza, fried mushrooms, eggplant parm. The atmosphere is cozy. Love Red Front.
Never disappointed. Service and food quality are both deserving of 5 stars. Highly recommend you try the cobb pizza or the penne alla vodka with broccoli. Their chicken wings are good too.
Love your square pizza!! It is my favorite pizza spot in town.
Food was excellent, as usual. So much food we all had take out boxes. The chef paid extra attention to my pepper allergy. Definitely a "Must visit!"
Hands down the best pizza in the capital district. Pizza. Antipasto. Wings. Blue cheese (OMG! SO GOOD!). The Buffalo shrimp appetizer is amazing, too. And don't sleep on the margaritas. You don't NEED to be out for Mexican to have a good one. Frannie's are some of the best I've ever had.
Conversation with anyone NOT from Troy: "Yes, the cheese is under the sauce. Yes, I know that's weird. Yes, the sauce is sweet... Just try it." One week later: "Red Front. The name of the place is Red Front. No I doubt they deliver to you..."
My boyfriend and I have had a standing Thursday night pizza date from Red Front for 6+ months! We love their sausage crumble and pepperoni pizza. Amazingly consistent, always perfect. We switch up the appetizers and have not been disappointed yet. Highly recommend!
This was a great place with a decent location in Troy with a parking lot so you don't have to find parking on the street which is rare for Troy. The staff was really great at accommodating our large group of 30 on short notice. We tried a bunch of different pizzas including a gluten free pizza and all of the pizzas were delicious. I would recommend trying this place out for sure!
When no time to bake our own...it is The Red Front! Excellent pizza...speedy deliver. Professional and courtesy reigns. Particularly fond of the veggie pizza! Oh, so much better then all the highly rated New York City establishment.
Should have found this treasure much sooner. A classic northeastern Mom&Pop Italian restaurant with a dining room and a separate bar, the Red Front oozes an old school charm. They've got WiFi and OTB, catering to both ends of the spectrum. Their 8-slice COB pizza, or "cheese on bottom," was excellent, a good meal for two hungry adults, and a nice change of pace. The red sauce was a little sweet, rather than savory, but the marinara with our Moz sticks was perfect. Attentive service and cold beer put the cherry on top of this delight; we're out for $40 with tip. Park in the lot next door and check it out.
Great place for lunch or dinner. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We celebrated my wifes birthday there. we had 12 people they had no problem seating us together and the food was great! They can get busy on the weekends you may want to call ahead. Enjoy!🙂
Fantastic tomato based sauces, the cob style pizza is unique and delicious. I’ve dinned in, carried out, and had delivered with high quality every time and not disappointed. Consistent products and fair prices never had a bad experience
Hands down best pizza in Capitol area. Has the space to host pretty much any party. Great friendly staff. Awesome spot for great affordable food or a kid, adult party. Separate large room with doors.
Red Front Troy Excellent. Best Veggie Pizza. Good assortment of veggies. Loads of veggies. Quality cheese and sauce. Mediim thickness to crust. Delivered in half the time stated on phone. We gobbled it down. Talked about trying something else from Red Front tonight. Just terrific kn every way! Thank you!
The pizza, C.O.B. in particular is wonderful. Super Thin crispy crust with Chees On Bottom is simple and superb. The sauce might be on the sweet side but the crust makes up for it The restaurant could use updated furnishings, but don't change the pizza!
We decided to have our family reunion here after talking to the owner. The whole experience was excellent. From the wait staff right to the bar. The food was amazing. I highly recommend this place for your next gathering. Plenty of parking and great prices.
There are a few really good Italian spots to dine at in the Troy,Brunswick area. But when it comes to pizza, and other Italian cuisine,Red Front in my opinion is Number 1,hands down.I did'nt utter, stutter,or mutter, its the place to be. They are always busy with a steady flow of consistent customers. There are frequent flyers, and new customers on a daily basis. The physical plant is always clean and in order. The customer service is top notch, and pleasant. The menu offers many options of appetizers, main meals, and beverages as well.Even for those of you who like to have a beer,or wine before dinner, there is a bar along with a dining area and banquet hall. The Red Front establishment and staff have taken into account the covid crisis, therefore safety measures, and ppe equipment are standard.Meal delivery is spot on,and your pizza is still hot when you get it. There are many choices of different kinds of pizza, including the regular pizza, and the majestic Cob pizza. For those of you that like to dine in,there is the blessing of adequate parking.Stop in or get home delivery,I'm sure you will enjoy.
Amazing as always..had a half Cobb half cheese pizza. The dough is a bit on the sweet side and the sauce is always tasty. I also had a grilled chicken salad that was HUGE for $10.
There are only a few true family staple restaurants left in Troy, and Red Front is definitely one of them. I grew up on their famous pizza—whether we were celebrating a milestone or sending a Christmas gift to family out of state, Red Front was always part of it. It has that classic retro charm, a warm and welcoming staff, and a traditional Italian atmosphere. Hands down, the best pizza in upstate New York.
Pizza and service were very good! 12 wings and one container of bleu cheese isn't enough.
We had the Mac and cheese bites and buffalo chicken tenders while waiting for our cob pizza and garlic bread with mozzarella cheese for take out Everything was delicious Great service. Great food
COB 4 life! Sam gives great service.
Stoped by Red Front in Troy . Got an order of pb&j wings all flats of course 🙃 Wings fried hard as requested. These were good. Nice pb&j sauce. Would have liked for it to have a little spice behind it. But they were still really good tho.. Let’s get into this blu cheese tho ! I’m not sure if it’s house made or what ? But it was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best tasting blue cheeses I have ever had in my entire life. It was thick and full of chunks of blu cheese. I would take a bath just in this blu cheese y’all
We ordered six 24 cut pizzas for a memorial service for my mom who had recently passed away. Everyone raved about how delicious the various pies were. Some even remarked that they were "Better than Kay's pizza" - which is high praise from a family with its roots in Burden Lake ! The pizza's were ordered a day ahead, the price was unbelievably fair, and we were able to pick them up promptly at the requested time of 4:45 on a Very busy Friday night. I cannot thank Fran and Matt enough for making our unfortunate get-together a resounding success. Thank you, Red Front and your employees, for your outstanding dedication to your profession !
Best pizza in Capital District. We had their famous "COB" pizza; cheese on the bottom. Onions, peppers, and sausage for toppings. Sauce is the best, sweeter than normal, no bitterness.
Made reservations for 6, showed up early, and were seated right away. The server was quick and friendly. The pizzas and salad we ordered came out in a timely manner and tasted great. What else can you ask for. I'll go back to check out the wings sometime soon.
I think I’m one of the few who doesn’t understand this defazios thing. Red front is no doubt better price, more authentic, and straight better pizza (I love their anti pasto as well. And there picatta).
Part of a large birthday party. Wings were very good. The pizza was like "the old days". Medium crust with lots of sauce and cheese. I find most pizzas these days skimp on the sauce. If like your pizza dripping down your arm, you'll love theirs.
Picked up 2 COB PIZZA & 1 1/2 COB + 1/2 CHEESE for my daughter's 16 the bd. Only thing she wanted & of course never a disappointment here!!! Only place to get the cheese on bottom, best in the Capital Region 😍If you haven't tried it you need to pick up a pie. Also my first experience fine dining in Troy NY, many years ago... Had the Chefs Special Linguine w/ white clam sauce w/ all of the seafood. Was absolutely delicious 😋
Great pizza, ordered the "COB" pizza with sausage, peppers and onions. One of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. COB is short for cheese on bottom. Sauce is a little sweet and excellent crust. All 4 of us loved it. Highly recommend you try it. Great surprise being Capitol District residents most of my life and never been before to Red Front
Always enjoy the pizza here, and the couple of times we have gotten meals, those have been top notch as well. They're always busy, and it's cool to see a place with their crowd of regulars there. Nice atmosphere, almost like the little restaurants in movies where everyone has a good time.
Food was excellent from rare prime rib to eggplant parm to pasta and meatballs to fried ravoli . All were delicious food was hot. Our server was pleasant, and it was Saturday night at about 6 pm. We did not have reservations but were seated immediately. The bar was hopping, and the dining area was busy. Food is reasonably priced. Atmosphere on the same as testos in Troy or Kay's in Averill Park. It's not a dressy place. Causal dress... jeans and T-shirts are fine. We would go back again to the Red Front.
Great italian food, perfect ambience, Troy classic.
Today was my 1st time here. I was walking by and the aroma just hit me from the street so I had to go in! I ordered the cob (cheese on bottom) pizza. It was 100% the best pizza I have ever eaten. The sauce was perfect, savory with a hint of sweet. The crust was thin, crispy and delicious. I can't wait to eat there again! I highly reccomend!
Old school Troy pizza place. Love the ambiance, the bar, and the staff who are just great. Of course, it almost goes without saying, that their pizza is some of the best in the area. When I lived out of town, I craved this pizza as nothing compared to it. HIGHLY recommend!
As someone who’s traveled around the world and lived in many different cities, I can confidently say I haven’t found pizza better than Red Front’s—especially their incredible COB pizza. Their chicken wings and antipasta are also top-notch. And seriously… what I wouldn’t give for their red sauce and pizza dough recipe! This place is a gem and a must-try for any true pizza lover.
Pizza was well above average,,, served and atmosphere awesome old school
Another iconic Troy location. A must visit in this town. The COB pizza is special. It is old school and the people are as well, and this is a great thing!
Fantastic Cheese on bottom pizza. Similar to grandma's style. Sweet sauce and delicious. Must try if youre in the capital region!
We ordered pick up and everything was amazing! The dough is fresh. The wings were crispy. The pizza was light on the cheese on half of it just like we ordered. It was perfection!!!! We are ordering again tonight!
This is one of those gems in Troy and the Capitol area. There COB pizza has cheese on the bottom and their red sause is slightly sweet and a great compliment to to the pie. We had hot Buffalo and garlic parm wings which came out fast and steaming. Served with blue cheese. Cooked beautifully! Red Front is a long time family business that has served generations of customers. Always friendly and accommodating. Our server Natile was excellent and attentive even though it was a busy period. A side not, the place was warm despite the cold weather. Always nice in winter. Gotta try their pizza if you're in this area. They also have a wide variety of other dinners, aps, sandwiches, etc.
Have wanted to try the pizza here for a long time. We finally did and absolutely loved it. The Cob pizza was delicious. I prefer a sweet sauce and theirs was great. Waitress was knowledgeable and recommended we get it crispy. She was 100% right. Great service and great food. We will be back.
Favorite neighborhood pizza place. For any fellow WNY natives: their pizza really scratches that itch for that kind of chewy crust, crispy edges, thick cheese style I grew up on back home :)
Oh my!!! I've been going to Red Front for over 55 years. I've lived in Vermont for over 30 years now, and have made several trips to Troy just for Red Fronts COB pizza. I can't tell you how much I love Red Front. Great food, staff and service.
Ordered a pizza when we got it the cheese was on top. When I asked our server who was also the owner why the sauce wasn't on top she explained that we need to specify. Then she said I'll put one in. She said if you came for that pie you should have that pie. Free of charge that's why this place is what it is. I forgot to mention how incredible the both pies were. One of the best!!!!
A historic Troy Italian restaurant. We enjoyed A family birthday dinner with 10 people on a Tuesday evening. The waitress was lovely, sassy and very knowledgeable about everything on the menu. She is perfect for her job and joked back and forth with us throughout our time there. We ordered their famous red front cheese on the bottom pizzas, antipasto, chicken piccatta, chicken alfredo, and a regular pizza. Our food was delicious and everything came out great! Highly recommend
This is a typical family pizza joint. I gave it 5 stars because their famous Cob (cheese on bottom) is the best I’ve ever had and I’m definitely a pizza gal. It’s the sauce and crust that makes it out of this world. Their regular pizza is good but not as good as the Cob. We get it with peppers and onions and it’s a mouth watering flavor. The rest of the food is good, nicely sized portion Italian dishes. Apps are typical fried food but Don’t get the calamari LOL. The antipasto is great, exactly like a traditional Italian salad and it’s huge layered with delicious flavor. The wings are great we always get mild garlic Parmesan and it’s consistent flavor. This restaurant has been a family favorite since I was a kid. Great ambiance for a family gathering, old school but cool and the service is great.
This is definitely a local destination and has been for a long time. I can tell many of the staff have been around for a long time and that is usually a great indication of consistency. The Memphis Gold wings are so good. I order them extra crispy and they are sweet and savory. The house made Bleu cheese dip is some of the best. The COB pizza is a winner for us. They have regular pies, but this is such a break from the norm. The wait staff is always pleasant and the food comes to the table quickly.
Okay first off, the COB pizza is AMAZING!!! A new favorite! The chicken tenders were meh for me but my fiancé liked them! The mozzarella sticks were okay but $7.25 for 5 small ones is outrageous to me so I won’t be ordering those again. But we WILL be back for that COB!!
Food is delicious, I have been going and ordering for years and have always enjoyed the food. Besides the awesome pizza, the lasagna, is my favorite dish. I often feel like some of the Waitstaff is inattentive. Last time she Completely forgot to order my salad and asked if i wanted it after the pizza was delivered, i said no i wanted it before the pizza, just take it off the bill. I was very polite and understanding and she said, well i never put it on the bill so there is nothing to take off, no sorry about that or would you like dessert instead. I often feel like i have to chase them down for attention even on nights that are not super busy.
After years of only getting pizza from Red Front I finally got an entree. I kept it simple with spaghetti and meatballs, and just like their pizza, it did not disappoint. Service could have been a bit more friendly but by no means we're people rude. This is a great place for a family dinner or for large groups (they have a small banquet hall) or to just grab a drink at a local hangout.
I went here expecting to join the communist revolution and be issued a uniform, rifle, and orders ... but what i got was delicious Greek style pizza and cheap, but good, beers all around and had quite the time! Awesome cheeky but responsive staff also ... a big+. Go!
We had won a gift certificate for the Red Front in Troy. Have never been there but heard and read different things we went on a Saturday around 5pm. When we arrived there was only a few customers there. We were seated right away and greeted by our server quickly. We ordered a drink each and also ordered the cob (Cheese on Bottom) pizza. Also ordered the chicken parm dinner. The pizza was very crispy and had lots of sauce on the top. The chicken parm portions was just right. I do think the presentation could of been better, was served on a black plastic old plate. Would of looked better on a nice white non plastic plate. The drinks were very good. We skipped the desert. Our server was very nice and very good. By the time we were leaving, the dining room was almost full and the bar was packed.
So the food was really good as always, we had fettuccini Alfredo with chicken. Except the bread, for some reason it was old and stale and had a gross smell but I guess that's what you get for complimentary. I took off two stars because of the price. The website says chicken Alfredo is $12. We both got one so $24. Didn't say how much to add the chicken. I expected a few dollars higher for tax, and to add the chicken, but total price was $39. Didn't add up to me. Besides that the chicken was just 1 thin breast that was charcoaled so it rly changed the taste of the pasta and I didn't like it.
Ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and a side of meatballs. sauce was good meatballs were very good .pasta was cooked perfectly. The biggest problem was that food was not hot served hot just warm. Bathroom was worse than most gas stations.
I ordered eggplant parm. The dish was all fried batter. The eggplant cut paper thin and disintegrated when thrown in the fryer. Are you kidding. Eggplant is so cheap, why be skimpy ? Really disappointed.
Pizza was great!! Hot& fresh. I must say was a little upset you dont offer 24 cut as an option to eat in. I spend more money sitting in vs taking food to go. Its ok still love this place!!
Just picked up our take out dinners of meat bologneses and lasagna. Lasagna was okay.the bolognese was very heavy with pepper.that is all you tasted was pepper.did not enjoy it.if we dined in I would have sent the dinner back.will stick with pizza the next time.
This place is known for its C.O.B. pizza, and it is GREAT. The quality has gone down the last year or so. I ordered a Philly cheese steak and the meat was Sooooo salty it was inedible, so beware. Also, when you order to go you have to speak up, the waitresses will not say anything to you or they will say something and do nothing.
Ordered Manhattan clam chowder it was large pieces of potatoes with thick red sauce very salty very little clams our peanut butter and jelly wings were over cooked no flavor sub was ok very disappointing with the soup and wings
Ok so I dont consider myself an Italian food expert so I'm not one to say this is authentic but what I can say is the food was good. Worth another visit and a recommendation. So you're probably saying why three stars instead of five..... this place is unbearably hot.... temperature wise the heat is on hell right now lol. It's really hot, we are all sweating sitting at the table. Fix the heat issue and this will be 5 stars all day.
Teresa was a poor planner. I called 11 times to make a reservation. When i made the reservation Teresa came in late and was in a hurry with details. I called back twice to confirm since she was so quick and seemed scattered. We had dirty glasses. Tables were dirty and no table cloths. Door entry way carpet is filthy. Requested back room..had us stuffed in half the room and said they had reservations on the other half of the room. No one showed up. We shared a waitress with the whole restaurant. i was under the impression that we had our own waitress. We had open bar , buffet and pizza and wings. The vegetable lasagna was good, everyone that did said it was good. Turkey with gravy was good as well meatballs. The lasagna was to be plain cheese and vege. Laz was served. It was fresh with eggplant, fresh tomatoes, fresh spinach. Very nice. I won't go back.
Absolutely the worst pizza I . have had in years. I could have bought a frozen Celeste pizza that was better. crust wasn't done. Sauce was like cold Hunts tomatoe sauce.
The pizza was excellent but our waitress spoiled our night out with her robot type demeanor, no personality and just rude attitude. . How can you not smile or not even blink when someone is being nice and smiling at you when ordering. .The only time she showed any intrest in us was when she dropped off the check.
Red Front pizza has been in my family for at least 50 years now. I remember going there every week as a little girl. The restaurant itself hasnt changed much, the server was mediocre and I was so disappointed that the pizza sauce tastes so different- a very sweet taste to it. Unfortunately I dont think this place will continue to be a staple for us :(
Their pizza is just ok. I’ll eat it. But the sauce tastes like a bunch of sugar was dumped in it. Mushrooms are canned. Pizza was floppy and very doughy. I recommend maybe asking for it well done or crispy because of this. This isn’t my style pizza, the sweet sauce especially ruined it for me personally. Others I know love this pizza though, so it’s at least worth a try.
I recently looked at the menu online and was asking about a Philly cheese steak sandwich it was advertised on here for $7.95 with chips and a pickle and I was asking for a delivery when I ask for the price then it was $18.95 I think they need to update their online menu nothing wrong with that just it's easier to be upfront than rather be guessing all the time and I've had pizza there and it was delicious
Our server was abrupt and displayed no personality at all. Did not circle back after food came out to check in. The lasagna had no flavor, like cardboard covered with excessive amount of cheese. Calamari portion was small and tasted like something I could by at local supermarkets. They do have good pizza which is why we went but then decided to change it up and grab some dinners. Still gave a 20% tip.
I ordered a 24 cut cheese pizza and 10 garlic parm wings. The pizza looked over cooked and the bottom was soggy. The wings were perfectly crispy but they had no flavor. Most of the wings had no garlic parm on them and they tasted like oil, no flavor just oil. I called about the pizza being overcooked before I had tasted the wings and they said thats how their pizza comes out, brown on top. I didn't bother calling about the wings. I feel like I wasted $50. For some reason I cant add pics to this review.
VERY disappointed in a place I go at least 2wice a year for decades. Went there, waiter served me a beer. Was almost done with beer when he FINALLY decided to stroll my way only to ignore me and take the order of a couple who came in about 10 minutes after me. I came in straight from work and the couple who came after me were dressed up. I am guessing he stereotyped and thought he would get a better tip from them. The only reason I can see him ignoring me for. Big mistake because my job is tip based and I tip VERY well. Above 20 percent. Very disappointed in a place that i like a lot.
Ordered Veal Piccata dinner to go. Waited 30 minutes after arriving at the time they said it would be ready. Got home and the veal was soo under cooked it was raw. I called and the person that answered the phone could care less. Ended up throwing it in the trash.
The food was not great and the waitress did not know anything. What’s not friendly I had to keep asking for the drinks for water and soda it took six minutes for the soup to come to the table and before the soup came to the table another waitress came out and said to us the soup has bacon so why the other waitress didn’t say nothing like I said she was not friendly and my food was cold.
No star's for Friday night's very poor service. But had to give one. 45 min's to an hour wait for less than 2 miles. Okay, it's Friday. 1.5 hrs later I call, food just leaving. Will arrive shortly. I believe they lied and forgot my order. You can have for free. Still waiting 30 minutes later, still no food. Will arrive shortly, another lie. Should have been first stop, again 2 miles away. Will arrive shortly, another lie. Fed up (no pun) Call back and told them don't bother, even free 2 hrs plus not worth it. I had an awesome PB & J (strawberry)with a tall skim milk instead. Only took minutes, kitchen just feet away. It will be a long time before I order again and I love Red Front, had my 1st pizza nearly 50 years ago.
My coworker said these guys were good. We always order from the one in Clifton park! Boy are they different! My order came pass $60 for 20 wings and a small cheese and pepperoni pizza ridiculous i know! I figured what could really be the difference but it’s so much different. This Troy location sent me 8 wings instead of 10 then when i called back made it seem as if i was lying about receive 2 wings. My pizza tasted terrible the pb and j wings had a ridiculous amount of peanut butter on it like i mean so much i couldn’t even eat it! I called to tell them about it the lady proceeded to tell me it’s two different owners and nothing is the same! Then i told her about the wings and she says “well we don’t do refunds”! Long story short don’t waste your money!
The young lady who answers the phone at the front is rude and disrespectful. And because of her and her attitude I NO LONGER will order from them…. Or I will ONLY order from the Clifton Park location. The customer service is the WORST I ever experienced from anywhere….you would think they would do better being that they cost so much and people are still willing to spend their money with them. But the Troy location definitely lost a customer for life! Good Bye!
If I could give it -10 I would. I ordered alla sorrentine-chicken and eggplant w/ the sauce on the side. What came out was 2 slices of eggplant and a paper thin, overcooked chicken cutlet. The eggplant was practically dripping in oil. I put a tiny bit of sauce on the eggplant and tasted it. Really spicy!! I ate two bites and decided I couldn’t eat it. $19 for this. I asked them to take it back and they charged me $9.00. For the half slice of eggplant eaten. Because “I ate some of it”. When we spoke to the owner she also said “well you ate some of it” I guess I was supposed to guess what the food tasted like. Those two bites constituted eating half of it? We said it was our first time here…and it would be our last. Their answer?? “That’s fine” Poor customer service and attitude. Do not recommend!
Long wait, VERY over priced, my husband was served ICE COLD sausage with his over cooked spaghetti. When we asked about how the food was prepared, was it cooked prior? Then reheated, the question was ignored, and we where told they would replace it and quickly walked away leaving no opportunity to ask anything else. No apology, nothing. Actually seemed irritated we had a complaint. But when I say ice cold, it felt as if it was refrigerated and then plated. Waiting a long time to Receive our food to begin with, and the replacement meal took just as long. Myself and son had already finished by the time they actually delivered my husband's new plate. No manager approached to ask if everything had been rectified, and when we received our check, nothing had been removed or even offered to discount our meal. I dont usually complain, but the entire experience left a lot to be desired. Unfortunately we will not be back again.
Haven't been here for a while. Now I remember why. Dined in with some guests. I can't remember a meal so bad. I had veal sorrento; a few pieces of burned coarse grit sandpaper over a briquette size and consistency chunk of veal patty (definitely not fresh). All this for $21. I know my guests felt the same but were too polite to say anything.
Ordered large cob pizza and fried ravioli. The person on the phone said the order would be delivered in an hour. I called at 7 and the delivery guy was at my house at 7:19. There wasn’t a single warm spot on the pizza but the ravioli was so hot it burned our mouths. The pizza was clearly not fresh, and was made well before we even called. Even if they put the pizza directly in the oven as we hung up, at 7:19 the pizza would probably still be extremely warm.
I don't know if people's nostalgia for this place affects their tastebuds but all I can say is the COB pizza was probably in the Top 3 worst pizzas we have ever tried. Sickly sweet tomato sauce, Pillsbury dough-y focaccia type crust and as for the "COB" (aka Cheese on Bottom) it was barely there and certainly not worth building a 'style' around. PS. Make sure there's actually syrup mix in your soda rather than slightly flavored seltzer.
First of all they did not put all of the toppings on my pizza. Ordered sausage, mushrooms, onions, black olives and peppers. Delivered with no peppers. I called them and they said I didn't order peppers. This was a Small pizza charged $15.00. Asked for crispy crust. The crust was crispy, however the inside of it was uncooked dough. I did find some minute pieces of sausage or should I say crumbles. Burnt onions and the top of the pizza was black because of so many black olives. Needless to say I the it out. Personnel was rude and pizza was terrible. Never again!
I have ordered from here twice as I usually get my food from the clifton park location. Troy location both times was absolutely horrible. 1 time the pizza had arrived I was told the cheese had slid off the pizza. I said not to worry about it no big deal. When I opened the box I found the cheese didn't slide off the pizza there was barely any cheese on l Half the pizza just dried out sauce . The pizza was also cold and hard like as if it was ordered and then refused or never picked up. The 2nd time I ordered a meat lovers only to find 2 slices of pepperoni on each slice with some sausage and no bacon. This was a far cry from a meat lovers. If you want a great experience from red front go to the clifton park location.
Very disappointed with the "cob" pizza. I hadn't had a Red Front pizza in years, and they were always the best in town. They were soft, juicy with lots of olive oil. This pizza was very dry, not good. Maybe they should go back to the way they used to make them.
Ordered a 10 cut pepperoni and 50 wings. Site said they are updating pricing okay no big deal. Got home with my order and it was only 35 wings and was charged $98 and online my order should have been $76. Again pricing was the big issue because they stated it on their website. What I’m pissed off about is the insane price and I didn’t get what I actually ordered. Never again!
Usually good food. My order came in 22 minutes. Spent $60 on a 24 cut and 20 wings. Pizza was super thin on one side and undercooked thick dough on the other. The meat in the wings was super tough. Definitely losing quality. Next time I will call I love pizza.
I will not be going to this establishment again. Last night I brought a friend to the Troy Ny Red Front. She had never been there before and I was telling her their food was great and I always received wonderful service. I have not been to this establishment since before covid 19 so it has been a number of years. My friend was tired she had a long day and was upset so I wanted to treat her to some shopping and then a bite to eat. Our waiter was wonderful and friendly we put in an order for an appetizer, we also ordered lasagna and shrimp scampi as our respective entrees. The food came quickly however when my friend received her lasagna she was put off by its presentation. We also noticed that our plates did not seem to be very clean or they were very old with many water stains on them. My friend took a couple of bites of the lasagna and the way the meat tasted did not sit well with her. We kindly asked if it could be taken off of the bill as she was not going to eat the entree. Our waiter was wonderful and apologized. I really commend his professionalism. He went ahead to take the lasagna off of our bill. Not a minute later the Red Front owner came stomping over to our table very loudly asking what was wrong with the lasagna. My friend tried to calmly explain she did not like it and the meat in the lasagna tasted strange. The owner still in a loud voice with a reddened face proceeded to “educate” my friend by saying “Just so you know this is how Italian lasagna tastes!!” I didn’t mention my friend is also Italian. We were completely taken aback by this outburst especially since this was not a sirloin steak we were sending back. The lasagna I don’t believe was priced above ten dollars. We kindly thanked her for her rudeness and unprofessional behavior as she quite literally stomped off. It was embarrassing and it disturbed the tables nearby. Needless to say we payed our bill and tipped our waiter, thanking him for behaving so well in comparison to the owner that evening.
We gave been going here for awhile. Up until three months ago, we were happy to order it for our guests. The crust is getting very thin. Our pizza was not cut or so I thought. I tried to cut it. The wax paper was stuck to it. We had company. We ordered a 24 cut.It tasted like cardboard. We had to be peel Wax paper from each piece. It was aweful. We wasted half our my pizza. I wish I was.joking. Worse yet, they would not make another one. Next time.. there won't be one. If there was, I'd ask them if they wanted to eat and take a picture to put on here.
Don’t eat at this disgusting garbage of a place. They make their pizza so salty. No wonder they reduced their hours and are shutting down. You don’t know how to make Italian food at all just salty garbage
12/6/23 Ruined my granddaughters birthday party with the burnt pizza, the unprofessional owner stated was not, after sending her pictures. Had to get her name from an anonymous person because, she refused to give out! Hard burnt edges and dried out, they overcooked it! For kids, I don't think so, I specifically said a kid party!
