Do you know how hard it is to find a GOOD burger, fries and shakes? Unfortunately, for me, I've been driving by this little gem for years and, IF I would've just stopped in sooner, my quest would have been over. I had a double cheeseburger w/fries. It was excellent! Two patties, two cheeses, all the 'fixins' in conjunction with hot and crispy french fries...they were/are so goooood! Bottom line - YES, I'm going back soon with my family. Gotta try out that milkshake. Check it out ;-)
We've been here exactly once …and it is a pleasant memory. Not only was our modest meal wonderful, the wait staff was very helpful with both the food service and a bit of local color. We don't get to Ukiah often; but, next time there, we will seek out Be-Bop's Diner and attempt to relive that pleasant experience.
By far the best burger I have had since moving back to cali, my only issue was the ac was not working the day we went so was very hot in the restaurant. But hands down amazing food!!!!!
Excellent food and wonderful friendly service. I stopped in just bc of the retro look of the place. I was also craving ice cream so the large sign shaped like a milkshake may have helped corral me there. Lol. The inside isn't very nostalgic and comfortable decor the service is very friendly you actually feel that the people care about what you're getting and the food is excellent I had a milkshake the first visit and I came back to try the burgers and the french fries and I have to say it was one of the best I've had in Northern California definitely a place to stop if you're ever through Santa Rosa.
Love, Love, Love this place. Service great, food fresh and yummy, veggie options, and clean! We are just passing through, but we wish we lived closer. Thank you for a delicious and delightful lunch!
Cute 50s style diner complete with jukebox and early rock and roll music. Great burgers, hot dogs, comfort food. Draft beer and a few carefully chosen local craft brews. Friendly staff, fast service, good food. Try their chocolate peanut butter beer--if you finish one, you'll be hooked .
Enjoyed this place. Great food and the atmosphere is a dying breed. Wish there were more Friendly
Just shared a meal at Be-Bops in Ukiah. First time guests. The diner shop atmosphere and 80s music was really pleasant and fun. The food was delicious! I had the Honeymooner and it was great! My kids enjoyed the hot wings (I’m a wimp) and we loved the garlic fries. Just wish they were as extra crispy as the fries with the sandwich! Might ask for extra crispy next time. Overall it was fabulous and my kids have asked to come back next time we’re in Ukiah. Thanks!!!
This is a fun 50's style diner. The service was excellent, and the food was large portions and great. They have great burgers with 50's themed names, and I recommend getting your fires with the "Bop" sauce. Don't forget a milkshake or desert. They have deep fried Twinkies and Oreos. These deserts come on a plate with 2 huge scoops of vanilla ice cream and whip cream. Sometime we go there just for dessert!
The burgers and fries were really good. We stayed in Ukiah for one night and saw this Diner next to Motel 6 and decided to have dinner here instead of driving around to find a good place to eat. It didn’t disappoint us cause we enjoyed the good food.
A fantastic burger joint. You're welcome and feel at home, great service. All burgers come with fries. It's more than a meal. Very satisfying. There's plenty on the menu for any craving. They're not cheap burgers. They're top tier burgers. You gotta try...
I was on a 4 hour drive and happened to be about 2.5 hours into it when I came thru Ukiah, down their main street (State St). It was past lunch time, I was famished and unfamiliar with the area. I was driving by so impulsively pulled in to give it a try. Normally, I would have kept going in search of "healthier" food, as in not burgers, fries, etc, BUT OMG THIS PLACE WAS THE BOMB!!! I ordered their B-52 sandwich which came with fries. Both were so good and so filling! I was told to expect at least a 15 min wait, but it was only 9 mins...another star! I couldn't finish my whole sandwich but gave it to my hubby who ate it cold and LOVED it just as much as I did! We will both be back!!! Great job, guys!!!🤩🙌
I have been eating here for the last few years. The food is "fun" diner type burgers, sandwiches, etc. The service has always been fast and friendly. Plenty of parking, clean bathrooms. An enjoyable experience.
Super cute 50's retro style diner. My burger was delicious and the cupcake milkshake was on point. Next trip down south I'll be stopping again.
Didn’t eat here. Just had a drink. It’s a really cool atmosphere. Loved the 50’s diner atmosphere.
It's time for a late lunch. I ordered Peggy Sue with avocado and blue cheese, and my side was supreme garlic fries. I enjoyed my order. My son ordered the Kitty Hawk....yummy. It is very clean here. Lupe is a friendly and thoughtful person. We experienced great customer service here. We're planning to stop by again. Thanks!!
We've gone twice now and each time we have only had good food and good service. Great burgers, fried fish, wraps, chicken tenders, and fries. If your looking for simple retro American food and vibe this is the place. Large assortment of milkshakes too. My husband and I shared a large banana milkshake and it was enough for both of us. Most of the meals are around $10-13, so good pricing too.
The cheese curds were Awesome and my burger was nice and juicy, cooked perfectly! Thnx for a great meal. I also love the look of the dinner. It reminds me of an old ice cream parlor, so cute!!
Love the retro atmosphere, but it’s heightened by the fact that you are eating in a historically rich restaurant, authentically old. Eating here is an experience, and a chance to learn a little history if you look it up. The food is better than you could imagine! My family had strawberry milkshakes but I had a chocolate, mocha-Oreo milkshake and oooooo! I could have had two it was sooo good! I had their in-house made corn dog, and the cornbread-breading?? Everything I had hoped for!! Delicious.
Traveling and stopped to eat. Very very good burgers! Highly recommend if your in the area. Price of drinks and a side of ranch was little much but would definitely come back again.
Great classic burger diner with a classic atmosphere. The burgers are large, juicy, and loaded with whatever you want on them. Service was quick and very polite. Prices can be considered a little high at first sight, but portion size and quality more than make up for it. Will be returning again.
This place was the best Patty Melt I've had in quite some time! I searched for 2 days while traveling thru numerous towns back to my Oregon farm. It's a throw back style diner and I can tell that everything on the menu is good. You can just tell when a place gets it right! Also the girl who took my order was very sweet and knowledgeable. I would stop by here all the time if I lived in the area!
A step into yesteryear. Fun environment and food is cooked to order. The menu is nostalgic. Great casual date place.
A true American classic! The food is perfect. I had fish and chips. The fish was light and flakey and the coating was just right. Not too heavy. My friend had fried zucchini. These were delightful. Lightly battered and a slight pickle taste like fried pickles. Really enjoyed it!
If you love burgers, fries and shakes, this is a great place to go. They have other options too. The atmosphere is fun retro. We've been coming here for years, and it never disappoints. We've always had great service here too. If you haven't tried it yet, you should!
Solid classic American food. This diner is such an awesome throwback, definitely nothing like this back home. They also have great attentive service. I was overall really happy with my experience. My favorite was desert, I ordered the funnel cake fries served with vanilla icecream, drizzled with strawberry goodness, and it was like biting into deep fried heaven.
I literally cried when I took my first bites (chilli cheese dog and hot fudge malt). My wife only gave itvan 11...
I was greeted when entering and found a seat under the heater. Cold outside tonight. The menu wasa bit too complex for me at that moment so I told the host what I wanted, a simple burger with lettuce, tomatoes, onions. When it arrived at my table, it looked wonderful and proved to be delicious. I'd definitely come back.
Must-stop diner for those on roadtrips. Super friendly staff and amazing food!
Stopped here for lunch while traveling through Ukiah. Wanted to support a local business. My husband had a burger and I had a patty melt. First time I have had a patty melt on sour dough bread. Both were excellent! Made fresh while I waited. Fries were also excellent. Although we had take-out the restaurant seemed very clean. Will definitely stop here again
Burgers were delicious! Fish, not so much. Not sure what was missing, just a little bland, tarter sauce as well, just a bit off. I give it five stars, because the burgers were great, and the service was superb! The place is very clean and great atmosphere! I would definitely recommend this place! A lot of choices from a very cute menu.
We randomly found this place searching for lunch while passing through Ukiah. We had never heard of it before. It is a super cute 50s style diner. We ordered 2 burgers w fries and a coke. I had the shake, rattle and roll burger w onion rings and bacon and my husband had a bacon cheeseburger. Everything was tasty and cooked as we asked. The fries are good and the coke was perfect! The shakes looked yummy but we were stuffed! We will definitely be back on a other trip
I have been going here for years, this is a great place for comfort food, or try a coke float, their corn dogs are really good.
Came in at happy hour for a milkshake and fries but was short on money since they don't offer fries as an appetizer, I was disappointed since I couldn't afford the fries. Next thing I know they bring out fries for free, they were warm and crispy. The milkshake was thick and very tasty. Even for happy hour they only had one booth taken inside the diner. I would recommend this diner, nice understanding staff and great skill on the grill
Lots of great menu choices and Delicious food. The milkshakes are amazing!!
My husband order a hamburger and I watching him the juiciest burger I've seen. He said it was good and was pleased with his meal. I ordered a turkey sandwich with avocado and was toasted with a side of their garlic fries. The best garlic fries I've had. Strawberry milkshake was very good as well. If I am ever in Ukiah again we'll be back.
It all depends on your likes, but I think that Be-Bops is a great place to go to relive the GOOD OLD DAYS and have a meal to your liking. From hot dogs to Elvis's favorites to their very thick delicious milkshakes you will have a good time.
delicious food. cool ambience. nice staff. I had a piña colada smoothie & a patty melt. The smoothie even had pineapple pieces in it (yum). The salad & the chili cheese fries were very good as well.
You guys just have good food. Never had anything bad. Just consistent good food when my family wants something we don’t have to cook.
How can anyone leave Ukiah without stopping at the Bop! I had finished tuning Squirrel McGee's Lollypop Tootinrooter so he'll be all ready for next year's Citrus Fair down in Cloverdale, and he tells me he's springing for lunch! Well...I thanked him but said I have plans on eating at Be-Bop's Diner, and he said "That's where I was going to take you" So the next time you're in Ukiah...just remember nobody does it better than Be-Bop's Diner, always a 5 ☆☆☆☆☆ experience!
The last two times I went here were great. I got an excellent burger one night and a salad the other. Both were great and worth the price. Food was out really fast which helps with trying to get a quick bite. If you can handle lactose definitely get a milkshake, so good! (Especially the chocolate shake). Parking is easy too, bonus!

This place is great! Decided to stop by and try the “shake rattle roll” burger which was 10/10! Burger was juicy (not red for those who don’t like it red) perfect texture and the fries that went with it were 10/10! The establishment was amazing in general… it was a vintage but yet modern feeling. Everything seemed clean. Seats weren’t uncomfortable, and the service was amazing. Did I mention a reasonable price!? I will come back, and I’ll be recommending to friends and family! Try it out
Not my first time at Be-Bop's but my first in awhile. As most servers nobody is perfect but received good service. I took my young niece with me for lunch and she received a straw but I didn't. No big deal I was sat close to where I can see the staws and got it myself. After ordering my delicious hotdogs I also ordered garlic fries which I recieved original. Once again no big deal so me I kept quiet again. Before leaving the cook realized I ordered garlic fries and brought me a fresh order. No complaints here. Good food good employees good environment.
Cool 50's style diner!
Cool lil spot with the classics. Multiple brews n tap is a plus. Foods decent, atmosphere is cool. Parking is easy, staff is friendly.
Good parking. Poor air con. The building was extremely hot. It's a basic budget diner. Nothing special, it just worked out well for our big group of 17 guys.
Best chicken strips anywhere..,big and tasty. Great burgers everything. Great food kind friendly service. Worth every penny. I will continue to stop there every time I am in Ukiah. My wife and daughter love the salads with chicken. Big and fresh. Keep up the good service . cooks work cleanly and fast. Impressed
Ice cream desserts are here and delightful. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is charming, 50's jukebox style. Prices might be a tad high. Food is ok, and burger selection is large, fries are good.
Food and milkshake was extremely good. Price a little higher than thought it would be. But definitely worth trying. I believe this establishment had a A/C break or something as it was really hot in the corner we were sat at.
It's casual, the food is good but, I forgot to give this place kudos for their burgers on a previous referral. Ya their burgers are for real. The place is a bit pricey but, well worth it so swing by there and enjoy and if you happen to own a classic vehicle drive it there for parking right in front and show off ur ride
Had burger, was cooked just as I asked med rare, hand patted, delish. Fish n chips were kinda bland, no flavor, fries were also bland, frozen I think, my onion rings were very greasy and needed flavor & to be crispy, not soggy. milkshakes delish, desserts great, prices not bad,
Good local place for burgers. Nice decor, satisfying food.
I get a lot of guff for liking this place but it's cute and the fries are good. I usually get the veggie burger, but I have it on good authority that hamburgers are not so bad either. The decor is 1950's dinner style. They have milkshakes. They have outdoor seating for you and your dog. They have pretty good beer on tap.
Delicious, fun place to eat with great 50's decor. The food was great as was our server. Their online site said they closed at 10:00, and we got there at 8:30. When we walked in all the soda fountain chairs were up on the counter and a gentleman was rolling up rugs and cleaning. We had to ask to make sure they weren't closing early. It did diminish the experience a bit. I'd definitely go there again though ~
Nice treat to break up a drive down to the Bay Area from the Lost Coast. Best milkshake I've had in years. Classic Car parking, so great place to take your vintage car out to lunch if you have one.
Historic sun-filled roadside diner reminiscent of 1950s beatnik hangouts. Food and bit on the greasy side, but expected from a greasy-spoon. Fried Pickle Spears, yummy with savory crust. Western Dog, a bit overwhelming with the amount of bbq sauce slathered on top, but tasty when accompanied with curly fries. Novel deep fried items include Oreos and Twinkies. Worth a pitstop when driving north along 101.
The food is yummy but the server is extremely rude and seems to not like her job. Every time I go there I get the same attitude from her. The portion is pretty small too for the prices.
Burger was bland. With all of the color in this place, somebody should know a little something about different seasonings.
It's ok, just ok. I would think it would be better considering how much you spend. The curling fries really only taste like the oil they were cooked in. Got a milkshake for my child and I to share, the chocolate tastes So much like alcohol... milkshakes shouldn't taste like liquor. I can't give that to a child. Won't even address the sad excuse for kids burgers. I'm basically having to make dinner right after going to spend an absorbent amount on dinner... Spent just under $50, could have gotten better at a fast food joint for 1/3 the cost.
My friend ordered a banana split, and it was GIANT! I had a BLT, which was good, but bacon a little undercooked. It's not very busy here, which seems a little depressing. The Be-Bop decor is nice, but prices are high. Maybe that's why it's not very busy.
The food was good. You get what you paid for. The milkshakes were awesome. The only reason I gave a 3bstar is because my grandkids didn't enjoy their kid's meals. Good thing there was plenty of burger to share.
Fun atmosphere but the service needs a looot of work. One chef moving slowly to make food for a handful of tables, many people seemed to be waiting for a while for their meal. We waited 30+ minutes for kind of a simple meal, nothing that should take too long. Lots of other problems that made me think maybe this place just opened. No silverware or napkins given, we had to ask, took a long time to take our order and check in with us. Maybe the servers and cooks need more training so things can run more efficiently. Our baby didn’t last while we waited to eat, so my husband had to get his food to go and eat in the car with the baby. That was a bummer. Thankfully a kids movie was playing so that helped keep our kids entertained for the loooong wait.
I'll give a 3.5 because of the great atmosphere and nostalgic ambiance. The reason I'm not giving a higher rating is due to the server. But first I'll talk about the good things. I love 50 diners!! Ever since I was a little chef. So it satiated that love. Juke box in the corner, oldies playing, and the old school vibe. The food this time was good normally it's amazing the chef is awesome but I think they changed portion size and plating. Now for the bad, the server in there has no personality and seems annoyed by having to serve us. Every time I go in there she doesn't smile or have a warm disposition. I feel like she hates her job. A 50's diner server she be bubbly and fun. I still love this place anyway. I won't let her ruin my good time. Lol
I'll start by saying, I am not a fan of restaurants that require you to order your food yourself & a waiter/waitress will bring the food to your table when your # comes up. This place is an establishment that does just that. However, my score isn't that low because of this concept. My score is low because the food was way pricier then it should have been. We were never asked once if we would like any water or maybe a refill on our drinks. The tables were dirty & missing condiments & napkins. The wait staff was either standing around & talking, or reading a paper. Nobody was actually working except for the cook. 2 stars for some decent onion rings. But, that is not a good enough reason to return. My burger was bland & expensive. Dissapointing!
I was in Ukiah for one day (first visit) while my Husband was having some services at a local dentist's office. I was waiting for his discharge so I looked around for some lunch. Not having a lot of time, I selected bebop's diner. I am very sorry to say I cannot give a glowing review. It was not a busy time for restaurant service, approximately 2:30 p.m.. I ordered a basic cheeseburger with French fries. According to the amount of customers in the restaurant it should have taken about 7 to 10 minutes. My order arrived about in 20 minutes. The whole order was lukewarm. I requested hot French fries and did receive those finally while I was well into my not very hot cheeseburger. The whole order really was not OK.
My family and I went to Be-Bop's for the first time a few weeks ago to order to-go. We only ordered two chili dogs and two milkshakes and we got the milkshakes fast but it took an hour for them to make the chili dogs. There were no customers except for us at the restaurant so I don't know why it took so long. It's also just hot dogs with chili on top so they shouldn't take that long to make. When we finally got the food it was cold and didn't taste very good. The milkshakes were good (that's why I'm giving two stars instead of one) but I don't think I'll be coming back again.
Food quality is diminishing and service and atmosphere seem to be dropping as well. Skip it. Haven't eaten here in a while and decided I really wanted a burger. As I pulled into the parking lot, I could see that it wasn't quite the same old diner as it used to be. Many homeless folks have set up their camps around the parking lot, and one was just staring at us while we parked. It definitely makes the experience a little sketchy, and I imagine it's even more robust after sundown. It was almost 100 degrees outside and no air-conditioning inside. It was hot and sweaty inside, the place is just feeling not maintained. Burger was just o-k. Curly fries were great, milk shake took an eternity to arrive. I can't say I'd recommend this place like I used to. If you're really in the mood for some comfort Burgers and a Shake, you should stay in your hotel room and Doordash it instead. You wont have to worry about the parking lot, and you can finish a whole episode on Netflix before your food arrives.
Cheap greasy diner food. The menu looked SO good but it was literally cheap meat and grease. Small portions, you get what you pay for. I want to say our waitress was rude but honestly I think she naturally never smiles and was probably trying really hard to be nice.
No one else was there when we pulled up. The frys tasted like the oil was really old. The rest of the food was bland. Should have gone to In and Out.
Crappy Delivery. Garlic fries nealy and all end pieces. Crammed burger abd fries in same box, burger siftened frie cold . WindMill Cafe , sane owner, SO MUCH BETTER!!! PAUD FOR #BEBOPSAUCE, NO SAUCE, NO KETCHUP, NO NAPKINS IR UTENSILS and Im in a bearby hotel. $28 Buucks! Burger n Fries no condiments or 😯😧Eating with my hands in #UKIAH
Expensive for the low quality I got the B-52 was expecting actual turkey breast not two pieces of the thinnest sliced lunch meat you could find and it was supposed to have cranberry sauce on it but it literally had maybe a teaspoon. My spouse had a hop along Cassidy the patties were really greasy with absolutely no flavor and his garlic fries while pretty dark were limp and sad. The milkshake, jalapeño poppers, onion rings and our server were the only good things about the place . The diner it’s self was looking a little beat up and the homeless people were yelling outside. It was pretty expensive for a shake, poppers, and the two meals we paid $64 was really hoping for some good food for what we paid.
Fish was water logged and gross. The place needs a deep cleaning! Waitress got the order wrong and had to remind her about our appetizer. Definitely will not return!
Not Good!! Greasy onion rings, very little pastrami on the pastrami (jet plane) sandwich. The "supreme" garlic fries was a very small order @ $6.29, one would have thought at that price it would be enough for an appetizer for our party of three... barely enough for one. Slow service, even though we were one of two occupied tables.😖
I’m NEVER ordering from there again. I order a burger and fries, and by the time I received my order, I went to grab my burger and my buns were soggy. It seemed like if there was water in my container. And my fries were also extremely soggy. Like really?! I literally just threw my food away. So disgusting!
On previous road trips, this was a fun spot. Now it's over cooked deep fried frozen food. Fries and chicken were both burnt, dry and hard. We could see the cook was either out back smoking or on his phone most of the time. No wonder our food got overcooked.
