Recensioni di Headland's Brewing Alameda
At first glance, it’s just a small burger place, but it turned out to be a really nice spot. The atmosphere is cozy, the music is pleasantly quiet, and the beer is excellent. They even have activities for kids, which makes it great for families. Overall, I really enjoyed it. My only suggestion would be to improve the burger buns—something of higher quality and without added sugar would be perfect. Other than that, a great place. I’d definitely recommend it!
Large outdoor area great for families with children. Space to park your bike. Excellent beer assortment.
This was a fun little brewery. I especially liked being able to order at the table from your phone and then bringing your drinks and food straight to you. The beer was great. I tried the GOAT Maibock, Earth to Beer Kolsch, and Hawk Hill Hefeweizen. The maibock was my fave of the 3. There are bench tables plus lawn chair table seating arrangements. Staff was awesome and very family and pet friendly.
Neighborhood favorite! Love the vibes and the staff is super welcoming. There are heaters for night when it’s cold :) love the smash burgers and all the sandwiches on the menu!
Great spot for a beer! The food is also delicious, my Gallinaso sandwich with bacon and fries was very satisfying. The staff here are great, they hold down the lines and crowds like champs and are very helpful and friendly. Beautiful garden area with tons of outdoor seating and fire pits.
The perfect spot to enjoy a sunny day with friends! They have something for everyone — even as someone who isn’t a big beer drinker, I loved their ciders, especially the Humboldt Cherry. Great beer for the beer lovers too! The laid-back atmosphere, friendly crowd, and dog- and kid-friendly outdoor space make it a must-visit. Highly recommend!
Been hitting this place up regularly since they opened. Love the Deluxe Smash Burger (Make it a double!) & the Loaded Potato w/ Chicken & Jalapenos. New remodel is nice, Drinks selection is ample! Pet Friendly & 1% to the Planet.
My first time going to Headlands Brewing in Berkeley. Family friendly gardens and comfortable ambiance. Enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys win on their big screen outdoors. Great staff & well managed. Tiny pumpkins & Oktoberfest theme was excellent touch. Will be back for sure.
This place was recommended by a friend and since becoming a mom, it has been difficult to go out. I enjoyed the food and had some awesome ciders! I liked the beer but not much of a beer person myself. My son loved the food and spent some time in the kids section. We were served by Minerva, she was awesome! Keep up the good work 🤘
They got some great food here your dog will enjoy it here
More vegan options please! Great staff, gorgeous location (entirely outside, btw). Tastey seasoned fries. Dog friendly!
Had the Michacano sandwich today, absolutely flavor packed and delicious! Also very much enjoy the CCBA collaboration and the guest tap red lager from east brother. Over all great beer variety and as the fall season has settled in, am throughly enjoying the firepits. And Sunday afternoon live music was great today!
Amazing new addition to the Gilman thoroughfare of awesome small businesses. Great spot to soak up some sunshine while enjoying delicious beer and no fuss food options. The staff are incredibly kind, and the upgrades to the space (new pavers, fire pits, turf, etc) are a nice touch.
Updated- 3/15/25 I’m still big fan of their tuna salad sandwiches, however the deluxe smash burger is now in first place. Try the loaded fries! Just took my friends and they loved it. Great dog action. The people heaters are keeping it cozy! Service is extremely fast , and ordering from your table is super efficient. Try the Spiced Ale - yummy. Cherry Cider is still my favorite.

I always wondered why there were so many people at this place. Now I know. What a great place to go for burgers and beer. The best burgers I’ve had were at the Bangkok Hilton on Wireless Road (now gone) and at Freshness Burger in Tokyo (especially with avocado). Now I’m adding Headlands Brewing to the list. I think it’s a mixture of some secret thing they do to the patties…seasoning? Charbroiled? And the buns are so soft and yummy. And the sauce must be some secret Mayo based recipe. Be sure to get the smash burgers deluxe if you like lots of lettuce & tomatoes in your burger. In and Out and Mel’s … sorry, no match. And I rarely eat burgers or drink beer, and their beer is so good! Kid, dog, young adult, and senior friendly.
A wonderful counter service restaurant with outdoor only seating but lots of shade, heat lamps, and fire pits. Our counter server, Jen, was very friendly and helpful, as were all the other employees we interacted with. They had a large selection of beers, delicious smash burgers, and a kids menu. They are also dog friendly if that matters to you. Highly recommend for a quick bite or a couple of beers.
Love that they serve both tasty beers and good food. I enjoy their Gilman Curry Sandwich, Smash Burger, and the Michoacano Sandwich! It's an outdoor space with good vibes, fire pits, and TV if you want to catch a sports game. They also have a kids' play area, but good to watch the kids. Chill, backyard feel, I like this beer garden!
I’ve wanted to stop here forever. My favorite Thai restaurant across the street was closed so I popped in. The sandwich and fries were delicious. Nice staff and really pleasant family and dog friendly environment. Beautiful Sunday afternoon. Highly recommend visiting
What a great stop on a visit to Berkerley! The beverages were delicious and the food was really good! Met DJ and chatted for a bit. Awesome spot to relax and hang out. We will definitely be back! What a gem!

A lively, dog-friendly spot with a great vibe, even in a less upscale neighborhood. Perfect for a casual hangout with friends. Highlights: Lemon Shandy – Light, refreshing, and perfect for a summer afternoon. Black Bean Burger – Crispy with decent flavor. Sweet The Creamery Pop-Up – High-quality homemade ice cream. I had the "Fresas con Crema," which would have been even better with chilled strawberries instead of warm ones. I just wish they had more vegetarian options with creative sides. Overall, a fun and welcoming place to relax and enjoy good company!
Lovely Location, all outdoors with food and vibes. Very Family Friendly ~ the beer is solid, but not impressive

Service is fast and we love the kids play area. I used to love the burgers but I am less inclined to go because they last time i went a few wks ago, it wasn’t as good. Can someone tell me if they changed their buns? It’s not as squishy.
I recently visited Headlands Brewing in Berkeley, located along Gilman Street in an area known for its cluster of craft breweries and light industrial spaces. The neighborhood has quietly become a hub for independent brewing, and Headlands Brewing fits naturally into that community-driven craft beer scene. The taproom has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that feels authentic to the Bay Area’s brewing culture. Large brewing equipment is visible inside the space, which reinforces that you are drinking beer directly at the source. The layout is casual, with communal tables and open seating that encourage conversation among guests who are there primarily to explore different beers. The brewery focuses on a rotating selection of craft beers that highlight balance and drinkability. Their lineup often includes approachable styles such as lagers, pale ales, and IPAs alongside seasonal or experimental releases. Rather than leaning toward overly aggressive flavor profiles, the beers tend to emphasize clean execution and thoughtful brewing techniques. Service during the visit was friendly and knowledgeable. Staff were comfortable explaining the differences between beers and offering suggestions, which helps visitors navigate the tap list whether they are experienced craft beer drinkers or simply curious to try something new. From a global travel perspective, Headlands Brewing reminds me of independent neighborhood breweries found in cities like Portland, Vancouver, and Copenhagen. These breweries thrive by combining quality brewing with an environment that brings people together over shared interest in craft beer.
They have a large selection of good beer. Something for everyone. However, the burgers were a massive disappointment. They are smash burgers and the taste is actually quite good, the thing that ruins them is the size of the patty. It's tiny, I get smash burgers are usually thin but this patty was thin and tiny. It barely covered more than half the bun. My last two bites ended up being only bread.
