Cache cache is well known in Aspen as a high end French restaurant. The food did not disappoint. Truly delicious well prepared meals and beautifully presented. The salmon and trout dishes we're the best we've eaten as was the Osso Buco. While the acoustics prove to be a bit challenging, it was overall a wonderful experience. The staff was quite attentive, although they were very busy at our 8:00 p.m. dining time so it was a tad slow. A solid five stars for the food and wine selections available in this fine dining stand out in Aspen.
Loved Cache Cache ❤️. First time in Aspen and we ate here twice during our 4 day visit. Delicious and flavorful pork chop with homemade pasta. Yum! French onion soup was superb! We couldn’t leave Aspen without another bowl and cocktails. We arrived one hour before they opened. They welcomed us in with open arms, recognizing us from our first visit. We were able to drink and eat early to squeeze it in during our last night with great service and sone laughs with the bartender.
This restaurant is amazing! Jodi makes you feel very welcome! The service and food are outstanding! The wine has amazing options to pair with the food! Can’t wait to go back
The best gnocchi I’ve ever had with lamb and one of the best atmospheres for fine dining in the area. Would definitely go back when I visit again.
We love Cache Cache! I have been in here twice over the past week to take advantage of the local's special at the bar. $10 for a glass of rose and $25 per meal is a seriously awesome deal in September for locals, and we appreciate that! The bartenders are always super friendly, the ambience is top notch, and the food is extremely delicious. We love their service and will be back again and again from Sunday-Wednesday while this special is going on this month! Definitely one of my favorite spots in Aspen for dinner. We had spaghetti & lamb meatballs and the meal was so filling + pork tacos were so yummy!
Nice place for an upscale dinner! Lamb chops are a must there! Had one of the best foie gras terrine ever tried as well as escargot and beef tartare! Everything accompanied by a great wine selection! Had the Habemus Papam Chateauneuf du Pape and was excellent!
Possibly the best meal I’ve had. Everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was incredible. Some highlights were the salmon tartare, caesar salad, sea bass, cacio, and apple dessert
I had high expectations for the food and for the most part they were met. The lamb, osso buco and foie gras were phenomenal. I also expected to be treated badly because the reviews mentioning “snobby staff” and also we were a little underdressed (a lot of ppl were wearing dress shirts) but the staff were courteous and didn’t treat us any differently than any of their other patrons. I just wish I had paid attention to the upscale part of the description.
First off, holy these french fries are mmmmmm. Second, they are always booked so we walked in around 5 pm. We were still stuck on old time so it's ez and elevation is messing with our appetite. Anyways wagyu steak was good 120. I struggled to taste the difference between a normal steak but eh. Always fun to post and say I had wagyu right? The chicken rotisserie was 🔥🔥🔥. French onion soup delectable. Good luck getting in, you'll need it.
Excellent food with retro yuppie vibe. Staff a little odd but good service overall. Wine list needs improvement.
Went for diner with my friends on Monday night. Food was great, we tried everything. My favorite was salmon Tartar and lamb chops Atmosphere was very nice as well.
Unreal. The crown jewel of Aspen. Best lamb chops I’ve had in a while (if not ever). Great service and ambience as well. Highly recommend. I want you to go so that they remain successful but I also don’t want you to go so that I don’t have a hard time getting a table haha.
Been a local in Aspen for the past 15 years. Cache Cache is probably the best restaurant in Aspen! Excellent service and delicious food! You will never be disappointed if you choose to try Cache Cache for dinner/ drinks! Kudos to the owner for this great restaurant!
Lamb chops were done do tender. Good wine selection.
Very comfy place, friendly staff. Food is good.
the butter they gave me was cold and hard and the plain pasta had no flavor and tasted very plain, the berries they served were dried up the cake was good tho
The best place to enjoy New Years Eve. The owner is the best, the waiter, the food was impressive. Amazing!
Most amazing dinner of my life! We might have to make the drive soon! Very classy restaurant with amazing food I did the rotisserie chicken and it comes with a heavenly like kale. I also took a bite of my husband's whipped potatoes wowzers!
Cache Cache by Name but is no secret it’s one of Aspens Best for nearly 40 years and deserves to be front of Aspen fine dining Scene. The menu is tried and tested over the decades and there are many favourites dishes that I look forward to going back to. In the mains the Lamb rack is a must, as is the Osso Bucca and the Pork Cutlet is Huge I had the special of the day a prawn shrimp Rissottol and having travelled the world I thought it was the best seafood risotto I have ever had and would beat anything I have had in France or Italy. Exquisite as we told Jody the owner who is always there to welcome guests. The wine list is one of the best in Aspen with amazing wines that are from around the world. I am always happy to treat my self to an old French under the guidance of the expert sommelier Alexandre who has true knowledge of the wines that are in the wine list. In for a Penny In for a pound when in Aspen but Cache Cache allows you to leave with a memorable experience. This is my first review of the restaurant after visiting it a few times a year for over 10 years as I was motivated to acknowledge what is a stand out showing the food can still be front and centre in a town where the scene and ambience tends to dominate
Iconic Aspen. Never fails to impress. Eat here (!) or come for a nightcap and mingle with the locals. Always a good time.
Quite possibly the best steak I have ever had in my life. So consistent that I brought friends from Maryland and California that were visiting me in Boulder...JUST BECAUSE I wouldn't shut up about how good this steak was.
I have been fortunate to dine in some of the best restaurants all over the world and this is one of the very best. The food is heavenly and the staff are the nicest, most caring people. Jodi, who manages this miracle, personifies the work ethic that all businesses should have. She whirls all over the place and there is nothing too big or too small for her to address. She genuinely cares about giving joy.
Really lovely French style cuisine. Great staff. Lovely ambiance. Perfect for a couple’s date night. A little pricey but worth it. Delicious food. Easy to make reservation. We paid about $250+ for two people - we didn’t drink alcohol.
This place is absolutely amazing. I highly suggest getting a reservation at this unbelievable restaurant. The service was fantastic and the dishes were a work of art. I was able to meet Val, the GM, during my visit and she was very personable and professional. I will be returning here on my next Aspen visit!
This place is an Aspen gem, it was the best dining experience we have ever had in Aspen. We met Jodi, the owner who was so kind and has developed an incredible concept. Get the lamb and save room for dessert.
Cache Cache is amazing. Another top Aspen restaurant pick that you can never go wrong with, unless you don't have a reservation in high season or are on a budget. The bar is fantastic as is the service. The wine list is pretty outstanding as is the food. The location is so beautiful! Whether you're local or visiting Aspen, this place is phenomenal.
One of the best restaurants in Aspen, it has absolutely everything, service, atmosphere, best food and crowd, please you must have the Lamb Chops, one of best I ever taste. Please make reservations way ahead.
Hands down the best dinner of the week. Superb service, wonderful food and a fantastic wine list. Highlights included foie gras, escargots, pork chop, ossobucco, calves liver and crème brûlée. This would be a great restaurant anywhere. Wouldn’t hesitate to return again (and again).
One of the best in Adlen! Cannot be beat!
Came during Aspen gay ski week. Service was amazing, food was great. Will definitely come back
Loved it! From the lamb chops to vegan squash bowl. Great atmosphere. We’ll be back on our next trip 💫
First rate experience: incredible food, professional wait staff, great atmosphere. We will be back whenever in town.
So warm with a great wine list. There is a lot of bad food in ski towns and most is over priced. Cache cache was so good that in a four day span we came back. Perfect banquettes to sink your tired ski legs into while you enjoy delicious food in flattering light.
I can't imagine where these negative reviews come from. We live in the Roaring Fork Valley and have eaten at this place many, many times. The food is consistently outstanding. In fact. we have eaten at almost every restaurant in Aspen, and this is easily the best one, and would easily compete with the best restaunts in NYC or San Francisco. The food and service is always flawless. Chris Lanter is an amazing chef. I would highly recommend it.
Late dinner,no reservations, so dinner at the bar. Bartenders and very friendly and attentive. I had the beef tartare and steamed jasmine rice. One tiny complaint was the music was a tad loud in the bar. Im not usually a complainer but there were 3 of us and it was difficult to keep a conversation
I would say, this is Aspen's premier restaurant. Matsuhisa is my favorite restaurant in Aspen, but this is a very close second. Top notch, French/American fare that will dazzle your palate, engage your senses and leave you blissfully satisfied. The menu changes regularly and their specials & wine lists are BEYOND! I also recommend having a drink or dinner at the bar.
The cookie and cream dessert is unreal. So good I didn’t take a photo.
Restaurant accommodated my friends very specific allergies, service was very good, sommelier was comprehensive. Wine list good. Dinner for 3 ppl cost $1000USD + tip.
Food was excellent however it took over 15 min maybe even 30 minutes for our server to check if our main course was satisfactory. One of us had been served the wrong meal so awkward as one finished their meal before the other’s meal even arrived. Water glasses were empty during the time until we asked for more water …. Offered free desert but just wanted to leave …
Decent place. Was little turned off by previous reviews about the owner's behavior. Luckily when we went the staff was very nice and accommodated us even without reservation by a small table next to the bar. If you do not want to watch other people butts, I suggest to make reservation ahead:-) Food was ok, not divine., nothing to come back for.
So I was told by friend Rachel that they had a bar menu with $12 trout. I was surprisingly taken by the laughter I was met with as I was so serious. I had $40 and I was trying to stay in my price range. They food is as advertised, it was amazing!!! The customer service needs a little polishing because I asked for a water with lemon and sugar on the side and was accused of trying to make my own lemonade and they charged $10. Overall it was an excellent experience!! Thanks Rachel, can’t wait to see what other place you recommend!!
Service was better than many Aspen restaurants. The entrées we had weren't great but the appetizers were very good so I'd recommend apps and cocktails here (4 star) over dinner (3 star). If this was nyc or many other places that rating goes way down but for Aspen a 4 overall is fair.
5 people in the group and an automatic 40% large group tax added - total larceny!!!
Outrageously expensive for what you get. The food is good, but by no means exceptional. We have dined at this restaurant for a number of years, but have come to the conclusion that there are better places for less at Aspen.
Our server had a noticeable lack of care for our table. We had to ask for water refills, flag down our server each time we wanted to place an order, entrees arrived well before our drinks did. It felt as though our server recognized the poor efforts for our table and was too embarrassed to apologize/correct their level of attentiveness. I paid for an exceptional dining experience but instead received disorganized and unsatisfactory chaos.
We come here often and the food is usually exceptional. This time however the food was sub quality and bland. Due to tourist season or maybe some other reason the quality has dropped substantially.
Not bad but....ate at the bar. Service was horrific. Bartender would routinely walk over, say something, to which I would often reply I cannot hear you. So he would walk away. Seriously? Food was solid. Not great. About what you could get in the prepared food section of whole foods
You would think with the location of this restaurant they would have a little more class in their service. I have been here numerous of times and never had an experience quite like the one I just encountered. I called to make a reservation and rather than being met by a friendly, willing to help, hostess, I was rudely met by an entitled, “this is Aspen” girl who just answers the phone. Instead of allowing me to talk through what I was looking for, she didn’t even give me the chance to finish my sentence before she rudely interrupts with “yeah no I can’t help you.” And hangs up. Looks like this “establishment” could use a little refreshing and humbling change to who it has representing its front of house. You have lost my business. Wish I could leave zero stars.
Cocktail server Olivia was extremely rude and borderline aggressive. Bartenders openly abuse and shout at the barbacks in front of us. Hostile atmosphere. Food was alright but pricey
Our evening began as an enjoyable experience. We were excited to be there, and extremely pleased Cache Cache could fit us in at such short notice. We shared three appetizers and then had an entree each. Our friend ordered the special $150 NY Wagyu Strip, and unfortunately, it was anything but special or wagyu. When we expressed our disappointment with the product to the waiter so he could provide feedback to the kitchen without demanding anything else, they told him he could see a menu to order something else; however, we would still have to pay for the meal. After we said that was not necessary and that we just wanted to make sure they realized the product was subpar, the waiter then came out to our table with a raw piece of meat to insinuate our friend was lying and being difficult and that the steak was wagyu just not 'Kobe' which is what they assumed he was expecting. The meat they brought out was different from the piece on the plate. It was gristly, chewy, and like something you would buy in a supermarket. Unfortunately, the rather aggressive retort and display of the meat were quite off-putting, especially after we were not demanding in any sense of the word and it was clear the meat was no good and was not going to be eaten. Unfortunately, this put a significant damper on the evening that was otherwise an amazing one. Furthermore, after the waiter displayed the raw meat and debated our friend's opinion, we only saw him again to pick up the check. It was very noticeable that a substitute server was assigned to us to clear our dishes after a very prolonged period and then offer us dessert. Once we said, we were done and got the check, our original argumentative waiter came back to collect what I'm sure he thought was a dismal tip for the unfortunate customer service. We would have liked to give Cache Cache a five but to be honest, we are still shocked at the disappointing customer service - especially in a fine dining restaurant with those price points!
