New location. I went inside and didn't have to wait to order. The cashier was friendly and helpful. She gave me a number and my drink cup. They don't keep napkins at the drink station because people have scattered them all over and made messes in the past. But they do bring napkins to you when you get your order. The dining room was comfortable, and the food was great. The Sweet and Spicy Whatameal I got was plenty for me to save half for a leftover.

Everyone was friendly and helpful! They kept the tables and trash receptacles clean. Also, they had just brewed fresh tea, which was delicious 😋 My mom and I both had #2 meals; Their fries are my favorite! My mom is lactose intolerant, so she was happy that they have an alternative cheese option. They now have coffee available (hot or iced), so that was the drink of my choice. The meal was filling. My daughter got an apple juice box and the grahamcrackers. The atmosphere was fine. We got there around the lunch time rush, so we had to wait a bit for our food, but the staff handled it well. I would like to thank the staff for their help. 😊 See you next time!

Edit: update after eating the burger and fries, maybe I was a little hangry but that burger was delicious, I remember now why I went here in the first place, the food took the review from 1 to 3. Original post: Been sitting in the drive thru for an hour, order a burger, fries, and a drink. Got to the window, paid and then sat at the window for 30 min, they asked to move me up to the pole and then I sat there for another 30 min. 1 Burger and 1 med, at 11:30 on a Saturday, AM NOT PM, it’s the middle of the day and it take 1 hour for a mediocre burger and lightly salted fries. I could’ve gone to the store bought patties and frozen fries. Brought back to my house, cooked burgers and fries and still had time to spare. If I was sitting there for an hour without paying I would have left, but they held me ransom for my mediocre burger and lightly salted fries for an hour in the middle of the day .

Have gotten better since my first time of going front counter never has no one there . Michael was very polite she took me and my family order and made sure the food was fresh and hot . I went back asked who done all my burgers for me and my family the girl ty den came forward I gave her props because no one has ever got that order correct on the first try … But they sure is always out of small burgers and napkins

A bit on the spendy side, but what fast food isn't these days? I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, a medium fry and a very indulgent chocolate malt. The malt was tasty, but could have been more malty. The fries were perfect. The burger was very greasy- blotting the bun with a couple of napkins helped -but hot and the grilled onions added a nice crunch. The dining area was less than half full and a bit messy. The tables needed a wipe down and there was food on the floor. I was a bit surprised since it was after lunch and honestly, I expected more from a Whataburger dining area. I used the check in kiosk to order. The experience was lackluster. There were no table tents with numbers at the kiosk I used which made it a bit challenging to enter your tent number during the ordering process. All in all, this visit to Whataburger was mediocre - neither good nor bad.

Less than satisfied. Entry: Tables weren't wiped down from previous diners, trash cans were overflowing and trays were stacked up. No tents at kiosk; so we made up our own number. We ordered burger combos with malts. We told Christina there were no order tents when we ordered but she assured us we would get our order. She was kind enough to get our malts but i noticed my DrPepper malt was runny.... Definitely not malt-like. The runniness of the malt was mentioned and shown to Christiana who responded with "thats how it comes out of the machine". Maybe, but looking at it you can see there must be a problem...maybe the temperature isnt cold enough but a malt shouldn't be runny. This looked more like a milk shake, not a malt. (Picture included) When our made up tent number was called out, i got up to get our meal which was in the process of being left at a different table. Luckily, our tray had just been set on the table and the other diners hadnt started eating our food. So much for getting our order... Finally got to the table and ready to eat... no ketchup and the burgers were not as ordered. No grilled onions on either burger, and no bacon on one. Fries were ok but not hot. The onion rings and the chocolate shake kinda saved one of the combos we ordered - which is why u earned 2 stars. To spend 30 bucks on lunch i expect at minimum, good service and hot food. We received neither. If we felt even the least bit taken care of, maybe a three star could have been squeezed out for this review, but not today. We will NOT RETURN.

This is normally our go to location since the East side sucks royally. Most of the time the only issue is getting cups and tea after ordering from the kiosk, and having to ask for sauces that I put in the order that were not brought with the food. But this time was awful. My husband got the boneless wings, which I assume were fine since he had no complaints. However, my burger was cold, and our fries were cold. My burger was so cold the cheese wasn't even melted!! We were shorted a ranch that I had paid for, and of course the ketchup I added to the order was not included. I went up to the counter, and a lady in the back hollered out "are you needing to place an order?!", I said "no, I just need some ketchup." Then I heard her tell someone else to get the ketchup because she was filling an order. So a guy comes, who looks to be a manager, grabs three ketchups, and literally slings them onto the counter and says with a bit of attitude "there you go." I said before he walked away, "can I have some spicy?" , he said in a sarcastic kind of tone "suuure", then grabs 2 and puts them on the counter and walked away. I so badly wanted to say that if they could read and do their job right, my order had ketchup on it, and I wouldn't be there asking for it. Besides the fact that they're supposed to bring the tray of ketchup and napkins with your order!! Anyhow, the fun didn't end there. I went ahead and ate the cold burger and fries because I was starving and I didn't wanna fight. Then after eating, my husband wanted a milkshake. I was going to order from my phone, but decided to order from the kiosk so that it would be brought to the table. We wait, and wait, and wait....and wait. 15 minutes go by, and still no milkshake!! There was only two other people dining and they had their food, so what was the deal? An employee came out and headed towards the back tables behind us. My husband yelled out that we had a milkshake ordered, but she ignored him and went on to sit and take her break. Then the manager guy...the same one who tossed the ketchup, came out and again my husband was trying to tell him about the milkshake. My husband must have repeated himself three times, all the time being COMPLETELY ignored!!!! The guy came walking towards our table, which was only a few steps away from where he was, and then I said twice, that we ordered a shake 15 minutes ago. He said "okaay", almost as if that was normal and nothing needed to be done about it. Then finally asked what it was. Once I told him, he made it and brought it to us, but geez freaking louise!!!! So yeah, now I'm debating going to this location anymore. This was the second time my burger and fries were cold. Whataburger needs to get their stuff together.

Ordered food, pulled up behind 1 car. I watched them pay and get a drink. 30 minutes later we both just drove off. It appeared like the employees just left as I passed the drive through and store window. Don’t waste your time or money

Went at 11pm. Ordered 2 doubles with 2 fries. Unmodified. Got home. Only got 1 double and 1 fry. Looked at the recpiet and did indeed order and pay 2 doubles with 2 fries. I was too mad to go back. They closed 700 US-29 location, I hope they close down this one too.

Burger was wrong, combo wasn't up sized and the saltiest fries ever. Everyone deserves a second chance so I tried again. This time there was only one car in front of me and I waited for 15 minutes to pull to the window to be told cool up because my food was being remade. Okay so maybe they messed up. No big deal I guess I'll keep on waiting. Got my food and the fries hits it like a salt lick once again and that nor the drink was upside like I paid for it. I decided to pull over down the road and just throw it all in the trash. This is absolutely the worst location.

I pulled up to the outside drive thru, apparently they call it "drive thru B". I was the only car at either of the intercoms, and there were 2 cars ar the windows waiting to get their food. First off, no one addresses me and says, "Welcome to Whataburter, give us a minute", or anything. No biggie at that point, BUT, then a car pulls into the inside lane and they address him and I hear them tell him to give them a minute. At this point I've been there for 5min and NOT ONLY NOT addressed but now I'm 2nd in line with 3 cars behind that guy too! So FINALLY I'm yelling so they can hear me at the other intercom and take my order! Then when I get up there it's 3 women just standing there and one of them was rude as crap! I was very nice the whole time but at the end when she was rude I asked her why they didn't hear me or give me service. She said they don't hear "drive thru B when people come up". I said, well ya'll aren't that busy so why don't you just put a cone up or something to where people don't go to that window?" Needless to say, this is the absolute WORST experience I've ever had!!! I'm absolutely sickened and frustrated with this store in Athens! I've been a manager and worked in restaurants for 20 years and the lack of customer service and care is not here at this store! I paid $18.29 for 2 double burgers that were wrong and took 35 freaking minutes!! UGH!

Waited 20 minutes for 4 nuggets -part of the kids meal-that tasted like it was made at the Hardee’s that closed down on Atl Hwy- way over done and super hard- fries was bad- don’t have staff-? Don’t do drive thru - have someone wait for this long and eat this- can’t believe they wanted my kid to have this- Get a new manager that understands how fast foood drive thru works- whatanightmare is what it needs to be called!! Have fun waiting in line to all the guests waiting and waiting - food is yuck!!!

Let's start off saying that I love Whataburger and I waited for them to get the kinks out before going by to order... 1) The person taking my order talked so much that she didn't hear my order. It had to be repeated 4x. 2) The fries were cold, limp and tough. 3) My Patty Melt had the sauce, I requested NO sauce. 4) We received the wrong lemonade. Although, the replacement was as watered down as the Prickly one. Water with a slice of lemon has more lemon... :( 4) The meat on the sandwiches was well past their hold time. Our sandwiches were not eaten. 5) My chocolate shake tasted of cherry cough syrup. 6) The person at the window tried to hand me a single sandwich. The Order Taker said. "Your Order Is In The Bag!" It was not. 7) We were rushed out of the DT without the opportunity to ask for ketchup, napkins or even straws. 8) We ordered no tomatoes and part of the tomato remained on the other combo. I absolutely understand that Fast Food is not easy and make every attempt to forgive most... $30.00 for meals that could not be eaten is unacceptable. Please make sure that the shake mixer is cleaned between uses. I can only assume that the Dr. P and the Blackberry shakes are a hit. I wanted a simple chocolate shake. Please learn the DT time is not more important than straws and that hold times are there for a reason.

The manager was ignorant. He didn’t listen to what I was ordering. Charged me twice for a drink on top of that what I ordered wasn’t even available comes out after 20 minutes of waiting tell me we don’t have it!? Also lettuce looked few days old and the bun was stale on top of worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at a fast food chain! Need whole management staff to be replaced. I don’t expect to have excellent service at a fast food chain btw, a normal competent service works.

Left work to buy food for a few people waited in line for about an hour just to receive 2 of the meals that you can pretty much consider all the way raw. Not sure what takes so long if they are not even cooking the food the right way. Unacceptable for a really picky eater something that can cause salmonella. If I was not paying attention to the food while I was eating I probably would of been at the hospital by now. If there was a negative star option that would of definitely been the one I would of chose. 1 star is wayyyyy too much for this place. Definitely stay away from this place!!!!!!!
