H. Salt Fish & Chips

I was crushed when the long John silver's near by closed. Now I am kind of glad it did because otherwise I may have never found this place! They have a nice variety of seafood. I love fried fish, and the portions here are great. They have been around for quite a long time aparently, I discovered several of my friends are long time fans.

one of the last (few?) surviving H. Salt Fish and Chips. Don't come here for the ambience or a 5-star dining experience. I've been to only one other branch, the one near Studio city. the quality of ingredients has been consistently good. I've used some coupons on occasion but these come rarely. i know each branch is a franchise, so don't expect any aggressive marketing initiatives.

Family been coming here for years. I always get 2 fish, 2 jumbo shrimp combo. Its pricey but its well worth it. They are a little stingy with there tarter sauce so I always get one for 50 cents.

A nice old lady will take your order, she's very welcoming. First time trying. I got the Combo 2, and I really liked the shrimp given in the combo. Pretty fast had to wait for 5 minutes. Will go again.

I make it a point to eat here at least once a month. I love that it's so old school. Such a large menu but you know the fish your getting without having to choose from 5 different fish. This is not fast food the family is respectable and takes their time to make sure your order is done right. Will update with photos on the next visit.

Always freshly Cooked in timely manner. Traditional English fish and chips. Very good. The workers are very unfriendly..strictly business, no nonsense but you can rely on getting a tasty meal.

Good for lent if your Catholic and looking for a place to eat on Fridays. Not the cleanest and the parking is horrible to say the least. But the food itself is decent. Also it's a small place so not much seating if you plan to eat their.

Possible ownership change. They are now cutting corners to be cheap! Tartar sauce was not as good as before. 😭Kind of runny, it use to be thick , flavorful and amazing. Customer service was impatient and short. Scallops are no longer my favorite, they used to big and full, now they are smashed down to this odd looking thing.😢

The food is excellent. The owners are older & sometimes kind of 'grumpy' but I think it's just because they work hard to serve great fish. Reduced hours...good to call rather than be disappointed!

Small place few seats. Cashier has minimal English skills, but pleasant. Food is great.

Consistently good fish and chips. Limited parking. A few tables inside. Order to go or eat there. Best to order ahead of time if you can which will reduce your wait time. They make the food when you order it so there will be a wait for that. But the wait isn't bad if you order while there. Check for their combo specials.

I had my Doubts if this was really the H. SALT from my childhood and they did not disappoint. Took one star off for not including enough tartar sauce then charging for more. If you don't like tartar sauce it a solid 5 stars.

Is the only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because when I used to go to the spot back in the 1980s with my parents this place was off the chart the owners that owned it prior to the owners that own it now were very clean neat and precise the owners that own it now need to do A lot more clean up and be more precise on their business there are good people don't get me wrong it's just that they don't understand English very well it is it's the honest truth sorry sorry for being straight out about this business but I shall let everybody know the honest truth

Great place to order your fish and chips. They are large pieces with a light crispy batter and always made to order. It's are go to spot. We always order to go as the place is quite small. We also always order the mushrooms and they are big pieces. You get about 5 in one stick. Super tasty

Wow talk about amazing portion sizes, they give you literal filets for the fish n chips. They have a perfect crust and lots of flavor, love the food here, the one cavet I have is the customer service, really nice people but the language barrier makes for awkward hand motions. Definitely reccomend.

Stopped by for fish. I was not disappointed. Purchased enough to share. My dad loved it. Also took four pieces to my dear friend Artie. He said he had wanted to stop by and get fish, but he never made it there. He was so HAPPY.

I got the London Special, which is chips and 2 pieces of fish. Both the fish and chips were properly cooked to a perfect crispness and were very tasty. The only thing that made this 4 stars instead of 5 is that they give you the same amount of tartar sauce for 2 pieces of fish that they do for one, and it simply wasn’t enough. If you want more it’s 50 cents to a dollar depending on the size amount requested.

Small independent restaurant that's admired by locals in the community. I was on a bike ride and passed by, so I checked out the reviews on Google and walked in. The lady at the counter was nice,and food is prepared upon completion of order. There's limited seating inside,but I was able to enjoy the food indoors. My only grip would be, there was no bike rack for cyclist, but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.. Thank you

Not as good as I hoped for. No real spaces inside for seating. Fish needs more flavor and same with jumbo shrimp. There’s even salt missing from the French fries. Fairly priced but wished it was more flavorful.

3 weeks ago me and my mom went to this place and ordered calamari, fish and french fries. The calamari was good but the fish and french fries were not that good. The fish tasted like it was in re-used oil and the french fries were just soggy.

Had to enjoy an ole classic, brought back some great memories. It still taste the same it's the crunch for me

Well I guess this is the last H&salt fish an chips around .walked in the cashier was an older gentleman whom seems to be having dementia or something. No smile just a blank expression on his face . I notice the cook was slicing the fish very thin not like before when the fish was in a nice bar cut size. It more was better then fish and the fries were mid. The parking is terrible I'm just didn't have that same taste like before . There most definitely skimping on the fish,The best one was in Gardena I went there since I was a kid now it's gone . I don't expect for this place to hang around much longer .I will find me a pub to get some good battered fish and chips m

Fish was very oily, there was no one eating at the place but out order still took about 30 minutes to get to us. We were dinning in but when our food got to us they gave the food in a bag and told us that they are closing you can’t eat here. Like we were planning to go and eat in the restaurant when we came in and they couldn’t tell us before we ordered that they are closing therefore dinning in would not be available?

Fried Oysters were previously frozen. I bit into one and nothing but liquid came out. The breading on the fish is very thick with no seasoning at all. Do not eat here. There are way better quality fish markets!
