Drive-thru: this young lady was so friendly, happy, and helpful... I was blown away.. she needs a raise.. now days drive-thru workers act like they don't want to be there and not helpful or friendly.. sorry forgot your name... will be returning twice a week.. and food was wonderful, perfect..

First visit to a very nice/clean location. Sandwiches we ordered were good and the price was fair for what you get. The smoked turkey was a bit too smokey for my taste but that's just a personal preference. They have a selection of Cinnabuns that is also a bonus. We'll definitely be going back again soon.

This is a great location! The staff is friendly and the food is excellent. I went there today for an advertised special but my app wasn't responding. The cashier quickly handled the situation, honoring the special anyway. I only wish I would have taken a picture of the huge sandwich!

You must try their new Cuban sandwich, it was delicious!!! After we finished eating, we couldn’t get our car to start and the Asst. Manager Glynn was more than kind enough to help jump start our car. We love eating at Schlotzsky’s bc we don’t have that many located in Tennessee. This location has excellent friendly service and great food and we will definitely be back when we travel thru this area again.

Fantastic tasting food and a good atmosphere. I love the photos of the football team and other local scenes on the walls. And the outside dining is great in good weather.

I live in Indiana, we don't have Schlotzsky's, anymore. Ours closed in 2005 and hasn't returned. I was so excited to see this one just a few miles from my hotel. I ALWAYS have an Original with extra mustard. We also got the Turkey Original. Oh my goodness I was in heaven. Before I return home, I will make another stop here. I'll need "one for the road". Maybe 2.

The Schlotzsky’s in Gilmer is my absolute favorite. Very friendly staff and great environment. Always really clean inside. If you support the local high school football team like Schlotzsky’s does, you can get a free chips and drink with the purchase of a sandwich when you show your Buckeye card.

The guys that work the front counter are simply amazing, personable, and very friendly. Both Ken and the manager (can't remember the name, if I even got it) went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and it was definitely money well spent...... And the food is always fresh, hot, and awesome....... So that's a plus. Would highly recommend to anybody looking for great food, with great service. Especially when that seems to be a thing of the past lately!

Okay, I was skeptical of 4+ stars on a Schlotzsky's, but this was great. The food was wonderful, and the gentleman behind the counter was really nice. He brought out the food as it was complete, so it was as fresh. He even told us to have a blessed day. We had grilled cheese, original, turkey avocado, pizza, and calzone. All of it was great and with fresh ingredients. The place was clean, even the bathrooms. Whether a towny or a traveler, I definitely recommend this location.

I had an extremely bad food quality issue with my order. It was an issue beyond the restaurant's control. The acting manager Samantha was very concerned, and made everything right to the best of her ability. Thank you Samantha for your professionalism.

First time at the Gilmer location. We made a quick decision to stop and order. Got the Reuben sandwich and the roast beef. The bread was fresh and good. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well. We ate on the patio and they brought our food out to us. The dining room is closed because of the pandemic but it was nice sitting on the patio. Next time I go through Gilmer, I plan to visit again.

It's been many years since last time I've been here and I got to say ... WOW! the sandwich was phenomenal, good flavor, toasty, and very delicious. The place is entirely clean, nice music and good vibes makes you feel you're in a fancy restaurant, almost. The decorations are very well done.

I wish they still had rye bread. I was told by friends and the gal who took my order that you no longer have it. My Reuben sandwhich on sourdough was delicious, rye would have been outstanding.

Service was very slow today and I had to ask a manager to check on my order (they seemed short staffed. However, the staff is friendly and attentive. It is very noisy with people talking, laughing and scraping their metal chairs on the concrete floors. It would help if they had noise baffles. Enjoy their food.

Schlotzsky's makes your sandwich hot and fresh when ordered. I think they are on the pricey side so I don't frequent the place very often. Their soups are okay. I am not attached to the Cinnabons. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. The place is neat and clean. The parking lot is large and easy to maneuver.

Not impressed. Choices with only sandwich that doesn't even come with meal & drink for small tea was inordinate. I used to really love the bread but not as much now.

My wife and I went here Saturday to grab a bite to eat and talk. Food was good, service was good, till we were getting close to done with our food. Had a guy keep coming by to "check" on us. Kind of felt like we were being rushed out of there, when the dining area really didn't have anyone in there besides us.

Everyone that works there is very friendly but the food is bad!! Don't order soup!! They water it down, and it's disgusting!! Every other location I have been, the soup is wonderful!!

Food was not bad, but I was expecting a little more on the quality of the food, but over all it was not bad. The drive thru service was slow. I ordered two sandwiches, and had to pull up past the window and wait for a while. They were not busy enough for people to be waiting that long on food.

First of all I stopped off to get my husband a sandwich. Couldn't believe I was paying $12 for a sandwich and not a full meal. We waited in line for a considerable amount of time before getting the singular sandwich I ordered. There wasn't a line for the record. My husband liked the sandwich.

"If confusion was a sandwich, this place nailed it." Me and my two brothers strolled into Schlotzsky’s on a Thursday, hungry enough to eat the front door. Soon as we walk in, the lady behind the counter hollers: “Welcome to McDonald’s!” We all paused like… huh? Then she goes, “Oh wait, I mean Schlotzsky’s. Sorry, I just started.” Bless her heart—she was tryin’ her best, but we weren’t real sure where we were anymore. I checked the door again just to be safe. I said, “We’ll take three GIANT Bacon Beef Smoked Cheesies,” and she looked me dead in the eyes and asked, “Do you want the giant size?” Ma’am. I’m a grown man wearin’ work boots and a Whataburger hat. Of course I want the giant. Total came out to $66, which is more than I paid for my first truck. But hey, we were committed now. We got our sweet teas, grabbed a booth, and waited. Food came out in five minutes. We were impressed… until we realized why it was so fast. I took one big bite of my sandwich, and my brother squints at it and goes, “Uh… where’s the beef?” Y’all. I opened it up and it was just cheese. No bacon. No beef. No meat. Just two buns huggin’ some sadness. So I walk it back up there and say real polite-like, “Hey, I think mine’s missin’ the whole point of the sandwich.” She looked horrified and scurried off, then comes back out and says with a straight face: “The chef in the back declares it National Vegetarian Day.” I stared at her like she just told me the moon was made of ranch dressing. But I smiled and nodded, and she gave me a new one with the meat back in it like God intended. Meanwhile, my other brother was sittin’ across the table lookin’ like he just swallowed a tumbleweed. His sandwich had no sauce on it. And I ain’t talkin’ “light on sauce,” I mean not a single drip. It was drier than a mouthful of cotton balls in a dust storm. He was chewin’ through that thing like a man on a mission—with tears in his eyes and nothing but bread and beef in his soul. We laughed so hard we nearly choked. One of us almost did. All in all, it was a rollercoaster of confusion, meat mishaps, and unexpected holidays. Would I come back? Absolutely. Do I know what restaurant I was in? Not entirely. Best McSchlotzsky’s in town. 10/10. Would celebrate Vegetarian Day again if it comes with bacon.

Normally a good place to go but if you come through the Drive-throughat 9:40pm they tell you they closed . One time it was 9:30 . And the hours of operation is says close at 10pm.. I think I am done trying to go here .05/27/2021

Original combo was very bad. Bun was not requested "extra hot", sandwich was barely warm, meat cold, cheese not melted. Terrible.

Food was barely warm. Got our order one person at a time every five minutes. The last person in our party of three to get their food received it after the FOUR people who were behind us!! They were out of tea and informed about it. The girl behind the counter said they would add some more. In the 30 minutes we were there, they never added more tea. The tables were dirty, hadn't been wiped between customers. Will not go back to this restaurant.

Every time I stopped here this month and last month they have been out of roast beef so I can't order #8 and they don't have it posted anywhere not on menu or drive through or window so literally waist my time every time.

This is the second time I have had to wait a while for my order. First time this week I waited over 25 min in the drive thru and ended up leaving due to needing to get back to work. Ordered online today so I didn’t have to wait and it took them over 40 min to get my order ready. Not one person that worked there acknowledged that I was waiting or asked me if they could help me. As I was waiting on my online order at the mobile pick up spot, people who had come in after I got there, ordered and received their food before I did. The wait time has increased drastically over the past couple of months.

Ugh. Today was terrible. Ordered kids meals. Was told by the person that whoever made the cookies did a terrible job and that they were terrible. He offered me brownies instead. Ordered a kids pepperoni pizza meal. When they brought it out it was a cheese pizza. Was given cups for drinks. The coke was completely out at the machine. The guy shrugged his shoulders and said it’s always breaking. I ordered a medium original and a kids grilled cheese. Both of which there was something wrong with the bread. It’s not the usual. The guy brought it out and before I saw the food started apologizing for the bread. He said the cook blamed it on the oven. But it was over cooked and looked like maybe it didn’t rise correctly or something. The sandwich looked like it was made with 2 sad bottom pieces that were over cooked. The buns were hard. ALL the tables were nasty. We had to sit at the one that was the least dirty. 🥴 There some sticky crap that is spilled from the front counter all the way towards the door and around d towards a trash can and back. The whole floor is sticky. I was also told there’s no military discount while a customer behind me told him that there is a discount here just that the manager has to override it. But wasn’t offered that Everything about this visit was negative and not sure I’d return to this location.

I’ve been sitting in the drive thru line for 30 minutes and there are only 2 cars ahead of me. I sat at the menu for 10 minutes before they even took my order. I don’t know if they are incompetent or under staffed but it’s ridiculous.

The food was good, fast service, however no one wore masks while around the food. Once the drive through window was closed the worker pulled off their mask and the person handling the food also had their mask around their neck.

I say salt & vinegar and you give me cracked pepper chips. I say 2 deluxe originals medium and you give me one and the other one was small. I say loaded potato soup and mac n cheese and their only half full for $5.29 each. On your menu it says garlic bread or crackers meaning it comes with it yet you charged me for the garlic bread. Will not go back to the Gilmer Schlotszky’s!

Sat in the drive thru for 30 minutes and they lost our order and then we waited longer for our food while they made everyone one else’s orders before ours so this experience was horrible, they need more workers and don’t have people wandering around clueless

Absolutely the worst place in Gilmer to eat. The staff are the most disrespectful and hateful employees I have ever seen in this town. Do not eat there. If they mess your order up it’s your fault. Then they will lie and say they will fix it and will not. The manager is a liar the counter staff act like you’re bothering them. Edit: since response from schlotzsky’s owner below. I’m not wasting my time going to your website, and I promise you I will never eat at any schlotzsky’s. I wouldn’t eat there if the food was free for a year. I waited until the 3rd time I had an issue with this store before I even posted this review. Plain and simple don’t eat there. Typical gaslight response.

We waited 15 minutes for our order only to be informed that they had ran out of Turkey the tea was the worst and the cookies were terrible 😞 I usually give them a five star we were very disappointed ☹️

I went for the first time today and I tried the pick 2 with soup and sandwich. My sandwich was skimpy on the meat and my soup was cold.. I was afraid to even eat it in case it's been sitting out spoiling. The other soup was also cold and the French dip sandwich was not good, hardly any meat or cheese. Almost 50$ for 2 pick 2s and a giant original and none of it was any good.....

My son picked me up some potato soup, 2 cups actually, and when he brought it home I was shocked. It was nothing like they had in the past. This was some watered down broth, with chives and a couple of potato chunks and bacon bits thrown in the mix. I tried to swallow a few spoonfuls but I just couldn't do it. I use to love this soup. Not anymore. It's sad really, I've watched the slow decline of this franchise over the last few years.

Normally like eating here because food is tasty eventhough its a bit pricey. Stopped a on Wednesday Jan. 15. Evening I had 3 people in front of me in drive thru. I had almost an hour minite wait to get food. Almost drove off but I really don't like doing that. Need way better management.

8:51 pm, the kid on the drive through speaker says, “I’m sorry we are closed.” There’s one car in front of me at the drive through window. I received no reply back to my comment of him needing to turn the store lights off and to change the store business hours, if that is the case. Whataburger got the money you should have gotten tonight. The owner needs to monitor his manager and staff better.

I don’t even think this Schlotzskys even deserves one star. I ordered one sandwich on the mobile app. One sandwich and it took me waiting 40 mins in the drive thru then having to go in for my order just for it to magically be ready (and cold btw). They claimed they were “backed up” but there was one person inside and only two cars that’s including mine in the drive thru. I get one hour for my lunch break and most of that was me waiting on my food definitely not coming back here.

Came in at 10:19am the store just opened so how is everything so dirty. It looks like nothing was cleaned from last night. Just a reminder why we don't eat out. The quality of restaurants is now a thing of the past. To see employees sitting around not cleaning is so disappointing.

Eaten here for awhile. Tonight we had the worst sandwiches ever. A bun like a hockey puck. A sliver of onion, not enough lettuce to even cover the hockey puck and the tomato did not exist. Asked for extra house sauce got mustard. Tried to call 3 times, no answer. Just wanted to give them a chance to make it right. We threw the sandwiches away and went to Taco Bell. Thanks for an meal We couldn't eat after a 10hr work day.

If you want to sit around and wait for "fast food" then this is the place for you! My receipt says I ordered at 4:53 and I sat there waiting on my three pizzas till 5:37. Around 5:30 the manager asked if they started the pizzas and the staff loudly said no.... We come here every few weeks and the wait is always the same. Definitely not worth it and I should stop coming!

Gave this location another chance this evening and y'all blew it. Won't be back again. Asked for no tomato on my sandwich - yet there's tomato on it. Other sandwich is so toasted you can barely chew it. Didn't have my chicken greek salad when I arrived so had to wait on it. Get home and it's just a greek salad - no chicken. It's like the blind leading the blind there. Gain some semblance of professionalism before you lose more customers!

I love Schlotzsky’s and we have tried to give them a chance over and over again, but this location has to be THE WORST Schlotzsky’s in the state of Texas. Our order is wrong every single time, not once, not twice, every single visit. We end up with completely different sandwiches that we did not order and the people who work there seem confused on what the order even is by the time you get to the drive through window. We’ve had sandwiches come with bread only before that lacked the entire middle ingredients. The ticket will read correctly but the objects in the bag are never correct. It’s truly sad.

About a year ago I posted a review that never got a reply. It was about the run down condition of the restaurant. Wallpaper was coming off the walls. The place was dirty. The drink area, nasty. I just wondered if any repairs and clean up ever happened. We like the food there, but with the dining area looking so shabby, we weren't comfortable eating there. We didn't see the kitchen area so we were concerned about food safety. We would like to eat there if it was clean and decent looking.

I went in and ordered at 12:17. I was handed my chips and cup. The coke and all coke products were out, ice was everywhere on the floor. The guy behind the counter said it's been broke forever and the replacement machine has been in the back for months and he doesn't know why the new one hasn't been put in yet. Several people came in, ordered and got their food and I'm still waiting on my sandwich. Finally at 12:38, 21 minutes later I asked about it. Someone in the back yelled it was put in as a phone order. I got it and left. I understand being busy but the front guy made eye contact with me several times in that 20 minute span as I was awkwardly standing at the counter and never asked how he could help me.

I cant rate their food because we ended up leaving before ordering. We waited around for almost 10 minutes and no one ever came to the front to take our order or even acknowledge the fact we were there. If that's the kind of service you offer, I won't be going back. Someone could have come in and stole something and no one would have known.

Ordered a pizza tonight after 5 says pizza 5.00 add coke and salad 4.99 got to the window tried to charge me full price .when I said after 5 the kid said oh yeah fixed that but then asked about coke and salad deal . I got my usual tomato and basil soup with a kids grilled cheese, the recipie has been changed and now it went from creamy and delightful to watery and burnt. The recipie change was a horrible decision and I had been ordering this regularly so to get this without warning makes me sad. The service has always been lovely but I most likely will not be ordering from this location again..
