The tamales & street tacos... so good! We were just passing through from Houston to Little Rock & decided to stop here instead of fast food. So glad we did!

My boyfriend and I stopped here for a quick bite to eat on the way to Michigan. This place was amazing. It was quick service, reasonably priced and by far the best tacos AL Carbon and fajita steak quesdilla we've ever had. I definitely recommend trying this place.

Food is fantastic! I ordered the Ranchiladas (I think), but when it came out it wasn't what I was expecting, but it was exactly what I wanted. If you like a cold atmosphere, then this is your kinda place - in the summertime I have to take a jacket with me.

My boyfriend and I went to the drive thru on our way back to Dallas from Caddo Lake and we could not have been happier with the food! I believe it was the manager who helped us at the window (the receipt said Armando) and he was extremely kind. The people who work here looked like they were enjoying themselves and each other. It was a truly delightful place to visit and it will be on our list from now on when we travel in this area. The rice and beans were some of the best we have ever had! Thank you!

Absolutely love this place. Cesar, is hands down the best server anyone could ask. He always takes special care of his customers. It's a place that makes you feel like your at home with family. The food is outstanding. ESMERELDA, with the blue streaks in her hair is also fantastic & I wanted to make sure to mention her as well. I fully trust that if my visit isn't 💯, then the management will remedy any issue. This is a well located, wonderfully staffed, and excellently ran restaurant that now also offers karaoke on Wednesday evenings! LOVE THIS PLACE!

The food was so good. Green sauce just the right spicy. We had enchiladas, chili relleno and burritos. All of it was good. Service quick and friendly.

We got our order to. We've been out of Texas for awhile and the first thing we did was get some chimichamgas, burritos and chips & salsa. We are soooo happy! It was all absolutely delicious!!!! Yay! It's great to be back home!

It was a bit pricey but was great food! I had the chille relleno off the ala carte, and my husband has the 4x4, which was also off the ala carte, and it was a lot of food. All great.

I had the privilege to eat here Saturday night after TSTC graduation. It was crowded when we got there. That is a good sign. It was well worth the wait. We had great service from the birthday boy. The food was very good and a very good price. We are from Lindale. I will be planning a trip back to Marshall to eat here. I will also be recommending my family to eat here anytime they are in the area. I give you five stars.

Wow!!! This place was delicious! The chips and salsa were so good we had to order extra to take home. Everything we ordered was delicious. We tried the tacos, tamales, cheese enchiladas, chicken enchiladas, chicken burrito, queso and rice and beans. Everything was so good. Just wish we 2.5 hours away or I would eat here weekly.

I've never heard of puffy tacos before so I decided to give the chicken ones a try. And let me tell you I wasn't disappointed, I just don't think I ate it correctly but it got eaten either way lol. Only minor issue is my wife wasn't a fan of the flour tortillas but everything else was great. It's rare to come across a Mexican restaurant with REALLY good rice and beans, this place has them. This will probably be our new routine stop heading back to Dallas from Shreveport. The service was good, our waitress was attentive and and came by just enough to make sure we were good. Great place and Great Vibes!

I ordered the Carnitas taco plate. It was perfect... the meat was tender, I wasn't picking hunks of fat out my pork, they're not stingy with the cilantro and onion. Happy hour is great not to mention our waitress was fantastic. We will be back.

Even though this is known for it's wonderful Mexican food. El Taco is second to none when it comes to getting a flavorful, juicy T-Bone or my favorite, a Ribeye. I love the grilled onions, bell pepper, and mushrooms to accommodate it. And I can't forget the grilled shrimp 🍤 on top. This is a must try item on the menu. And they have very cold beer, margaritas and other tasty drinks for your choosing.

I'm a person who enjoys Mexican food. This place is well marked with a large sign. Parking was plentiful and roomy. The building was clean and bright inside. The food was fresh and flavorful. Service was quick. Enchilada verdes.....very good. If you're a trucker, there was ample parking behind the inn just west of the restaurant. I don't know if it's free, but it's there. I no longer drive but would have been happy to find this place on a 10 hour break.

It took my party of four almost 20mins to decide on our order because of the numerous choices. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We could not believe how good it was.

We had the fajita chimichanga and the steak burrito dinner. The steak meat was so tender and the food was so delicious. We are from California and this is the best Mexican food we've had yet. Highly recommend

I had a sip of a nice red wine at the bar before I left with my steak tacos- which were subtly seasoned therefore making them quite addictive. If you dont order them with corn tortillas don't talk to me. The green Verde salsa is top tier. This is a top tier area so take a walk and enjoy the natural beauty. Speaking of natural beauty the wait staff is lovely they have patio seating and probably if I came back to the area id stay at a hotel walking distance simply because there is good cell phone coverage here as well. Say hi to Salvador the owner stand up guy so stand up if he approaches your table or order to go

My husband and I LOVED the beef burritos!!! I didn't care for the salsa, but only bc I don't like cilantro, lol. Hubby loved it! The rest of the meal was pretty good. The service wasn't the quickest, but we ate there around 4 pm, just before dinner rush; customers started coming in fast! I would definitely return for their yummy, well-seasoned ground beef! I l Enjoyed the ground beef burritos and tacos. I love taco salads, and I plan to try one soon! (Ground beef for sure). I've heard LOTS of great things about their Fajitas!!! Parking was plentiful! Went here for dinner with family member and then meeting friends for drinks after. Dinner was alright. This were good but salsa had a kick that made it unenjoyable (I could be a wuss) but chips were really good. Ordered tamale dinner. Tamales had a texture and flavor that wasn't the best so not the best tamales I've had. Rice and beans were good. I've heard great things about their drinks. Had the Spiced Pineapple drink with jalapeño tequila and pineapple juice. Wasn't impressed with it. Will be back Friday with friends for more drinks to get another opinion. Service was a little slow, but place was busy, so understandable.

Food was very good but don’t go with a large group. Took over 1.5 hours for our meal. Most of the meals had been sitting a while. We had one waitress with no apologies.

We had a pickup order. The tacos were served jumbled up in a platter like I was in San Quentin. The chicken had virtually no flavor. Beef flavor was okay but Taco Bell probably has more substance. This place has no pride in their food. On a good note, the girl at the pickup window was nice.

Came up to Marshall Texas for some good family time! We wanted to try something new so we came to El Taco. It was packed so we assumed that it would be a great place to eat. Not so. We waited 30 minutes to be seated and one hour for our food. When asked what took so long they answered and said,” the orders were mixed up in the kitchen.” The ONLY thing that was 5/5 was our waiter. He was super nice and cordial. He did the best that he could with the circumstances.

Margaritas and salsa are good, my enchiladas came out cold. Just cause the plate is hot doesn't mean the food is.

My first visit was great here. Food is good. I ordered fish and shrimp tacos. The second visit was not so good when I called in my order for pick-up and the not so nice manager was in and he took my order. He went into telling me what he couldn't do for me when request were made for how I wanted my order. Especially when I was able to get the same request on my prior visit with no problem. And when I arrive to To pick up my order. He kept going on and on trying to justify why he could not fulfill my request. And then he charged me for a take out plates on my receipt and also caused me have to place a order for 2 different meals to get it the way that I wanted. And when I asked him for a little cheese in a to go sauce container to go, he told me that nothing is free. He wanted to charge me for that after he already had caused me to purchase the whole other meal just to get what I wanted, which I did not have to do when I first visited the restaurant. Nor was I charged for take out containers prior. My order was a to go order. He was not very customer friendly at all to me.

After spending more than 30 $$$ for 2 people we absent minded ordered margaritas which turned out to be 27$ each. I don't normally drink so I have no idea how bad that price was. Maybe it was a slow day and we got the best tequila

First experience was ok, service was good. I ordered the daily special which was 4 tacos with rice and beans, was not impressed. Should have asked price for this because I wasn't expecting to pay $15 for that. Usually a special comes with a good price. Decided to give them another shot. We were seated and drinks, chips and salsa brought out quickly. Then we sat there for 15 minutes before some one finally asked if our order had been taken. Order the beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas. Tried to order elote, that is on the menu, waiter looked like he had never heard of it. Went to ask in the back, came back and said that is a seasonal item. The cheese they use to make it is not in season. Lol when is cheese season? Asked for salt, butter and some napkins, never got any of those. Food came out pretty quick after ordering. Portions were small considering we ordered fajitas for two. Beef and chicken were good but the shrimp was very dry. TLDR: Bad service, mediocre food, overpriced. Wont be going back, too many better options in town than to try this place again.

This restaurant lies closer to being “Tex Mex” than anything being authentic Mexican food. The spices were non existent in the food, and it lacked flavor. The queso was so runny it had a milk consistency, and didn’t have a “queso” flavor. No joke! It dripped right through a fork. The service here was good. Our waitress took care of our needs. Our waitress is the only good thing that brought this experience from 1 star to 2 stars. If you are looking for authentic Mexican food/flavor/spices, then go elsewhere. Will be going back to our regular restaurant, Jose Tequila’s.

And the servings were very generous.

Nice decor and drinks, but the food has no flavor and the service is lackluster. You're better off eating at another Mexican Resturant in time or even Taco Bell.

I have ate here 2 times, both times were less than satisfactory. BOTH TIMES I had to go find napkins and forks because the server forgot to bring them. Even after I asked. The salsa is good but the chips seemed stale. I ordered the Marshall special, and tamale was good, but the taco was soggy and the burrito was not good. After I finished my meal, I waited a while for the check. When I felt I waited long enough, I went to the front to get it. The guy told me it would be 200 dollars to pay up front and half price at my table. I get he was joking,but it seemed very rude. I was not amused. I DO NOT RECOMMEND EATING HERE.

There was a time when this place was all the buzz. That time has long since past in every way imaginable. Anytime management wants to argue about something their business did wrong they automatically lose my business until they get replaced. Apparently cold beer is hard to come by here and the manager decided to argue with me about it. Apparently they know more about thermodynamics than I do, I mean I’ve only got a double masters in engineering and thermodynamics is something I’ve forgotten more about than they will ever learn. Cold beer in warm glass does not make the beer turn instantly warm. That means the beer isn’t being kept at the correct temperature and that’s for the health department to look into since there’s a mandatory requirement at what it needs to come out of the spout at. Furthermore the quality of the food and service is just abysmal. I don’t understand how such a good restaurant has ended up like this but it’s just not okay at all. Maybe a new owner can come in and save this sinking ship but even then I don’t know really and that so sad. On their FB pages they won’t even let you leave a review which just goes to show you stay away.

A Hispanic man walked in, got his drink and order taken right away, BY A FEMALE AND MALE SERVER....I wish I could take back my one star review..you all don't deserve it..learn customer service and how to efficiently wait on ALL PEOPLE.

It only take 20 MINUTES to place your drink order. Another 20 MINUTES to order your food. And 45 MINUTES to get your food. The food - when it FINALLY comes - is good. When you ask why it takes SOOOOO LONG - the little shirt guy just non concerned shakes his head. I could under stand on a lunch rush, weekend rush or other busy time. THERE WERE ONLY 3 tables with people at them. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE AND NO CONCERN AT ALL

If I could give zero stars l would. My whole plate of food was cold and my husband's was hot, we received them at the same time. I had to get our drinks from the bar myself, my husband asked for hot sauce 3x never got it we paid for food we did not eat.It was all on the table when we left. We waited an hour to be seated because we heard it was wonderful.... Big disappointment 😞

We went in excited to try out the new restaurant and were deeply disappointed. We ordered the enchilada meals with chili topped with shredded cheese. My meal came with nothing on top and the waiter brought me a small bowl of chili to pour myself. She had chili on hers but no shredded cheese. The waiter brought her some cold shredded cheese in a bowl. To top it off, the enchiladas had a displeasing aftertaste that lingered. I'm very allergic to green peas, so she asked if the rice had them in it. He said yes, so I got double beans, which were delicious. When her rice arrived, it didn't have green peas, or I would have ordered rice, which was also delicious. The margaritas were perfect. As a whole, our experience was a very disappointing disaster. I would be too afraid for the price to attempt to return to try a different dish.

The one star is for the waitr, he was prompt and attentive. The prices were a little high considering the competition. My quesdilla was 12 bucks no rice or beans, it was so greasy ... The taste was not good either. My husband couldn't finish his burrito because the taste was nasty and my daughter got the three tamales with rice and they were small and looked like dog food. The rice wasn't bad and the chips and salsa was pretty good and the queso. Other than that I don't think we'll be going back.

I was picking up an order for my mom. Recently moved back and wanted to see if this was a place to go. They will not receive my business at all. Went to the pick up a call in order through the drive up pick up option. The lady did not see an order. She went to get this guy that advised that he is the only one that was taking the order and there was no order. So I called my mom on the phone and she said did a Mexican guy took the order I advised him of that he told “Me this is a Mexican restaurant do you know how many Mexicans are here”. The reason I advised him of this is because he stated he was the only one that took the order well he was Mexican. Sorry if I should have said Hispanic but he wasn‘t of any other race so what should I have said. He was very rude. Well to say all this Left highly dissatisfied with the customer service. My mom then called back hit redial because I wanted to make sure she called the correct place. She did and he goes on to tell her she must have called the wrong number because no order. She said she hit redial then he goes on to apologize and say it must have been someone else. Wow this is l several things that went wrong with this interaction with my mom and myself. Can’t review the food just the customer service. I will just go somewhere else. I review several places good and bad and it’s been a while but seems that definitely deserved a review. They have lost more than just my business best believe. If I could provide no stars at all they would definitely deserve it because of this interaction sorry this was not about the food because I definitely left empty handed. Customer service 0.

I work in Marshall I frequently visit this place. I’ll never step foot in it again. Beer was hot. I asked for a bottle the manager said abs I quote. No one else complaining. I said can I have a bottle since beer is warm. Then went to tell me again. It’s the mug that hot not the beer. I asked for my ticket said no charge. I’ll NEVER STEP foot in this business again over the manager. Your beer is hot and your service is terrible. This us what a cold beer looks like. Your beer is hot.

Very, very salty food and way too much cheese on my plate. The Waitress was also rude. Because I asked for to go box and then she was like if you don’t like it why do you want to go box? Well, I got a dog at the house!

FIRST AND LAST TIME EATING HERE! Customer service trash! Walked into the restaurant and not even one of five workers that were in the front welcomed me in. Workers continued having a conversation among themselves and a costumer they knew. Waited about five minutes before someone even acknowledged me! When someone finally acknowledged me I told them I had an online order. When food was brought out worker tells me I have to show her proof that it’s mine. I showed her a screenshot of my online order receipt from the “Caviar” website where I ordered my food from. Worker tells me in an aggressive tone “ I can’t give you the food cause it’s not through the DoorDash app.” I told her I don’t even have the DoorDash app to even order food from there. I showed another worker my receipt and grabbed my food from her and left. Food was OKAY but they need to work on customer service!

The guy on the register with the tattoos gave me and my family the worse reception. Seems like his nice if you white but if you Hispanic he looks down on you. The food was bad. The waiter was good.

Big mistake the restaurant is beautiful the staff is wonderful. The only thing I can say that was good was the water and the tortilla chips. I seldom ever give a restaurant a bad review. I travel all over the world and love eating in new places. My wife ordered tortilla soup it had one piece of chicken in it. I WENT WITH SOMETHING SAFE LOL CHICKEN QUESDILLA WITH BEANS AND RICE. This restaurant was packed which only made me think that these people if they ate real Mexican food would lose their minds. My QUESDILLA had no taste and the beans and rice left me sad they tasted so bad. The house margaritas were the worse things I have ever drank before in my life. They really need to send their cooks to Mexico to learn how to cook. I had to go to the liquor store to buy a bottle of tequila to get rid of the taste.

Horrible service they forgot part of my order and I didn't notice until I was 25 mins away called back told them and went back and they gave me the food when I asked if it was the same one from the one I ordered 50 min ago they said yes but was In a heating container I said ok opened the box and everything was cold and soggy! Will not ever go back to this place it is the worst restaurant in marshall!

I showed up 9:29 pm to the drive through and they said they were closing and that I couldn’t order anything. Even though their google maps info showed closing time at 10pm. After reading many of the reviews I’m glad we weren’t able to get anything.
