I always come here alone in the early mornings, something cozy and calming about it. I usually grab a loaf of sourdough, though this batch wasn’t their best. Still, the service is great, the pastries are consistently good, and honestly… this might be the best location in all of LA.

5 Stars This place nails it on every level—coffee, food, people, vibe. The espresso is top-tier (trust the barista named Johnny—he knows what he’s doing), and the fresh bread is no joke: warm, crusty, and the kind that disappears before your food even hits the table. Every dish I’ve tried feels dialed in—simple, fresh, and done with care. It’s also one of those rare spots that somehow pulls off being ideal for a work meeting, a casual hang, or just zoning in with your laptop for a few hours. The atmosphere is modern but warm, with just the right amount of bustle. You’re surrounded by a new little enclave of shops and restaurants, so it’s easy to turn a coffee stop into an afternoon outing. General Manager Jonny runs the place with that rare combo of attention to detail and laid-back charm—you feel like a regular by your second visit. Between him and Barista Johnny, the service here sets the tone: friendly, fast, and actually thoughtful. If you’re looking for a place that does all-day café right—this is it.

I wanted to treat myself to a nice solo breakfast so I knew going in that this bakery/cafe was going to be on the pricier side but I still cringed at the total once I added sausage to my breakfast sandwich. That being said the food here speaks for itself and the flavor defends the price. The sandwich tastes as good as it looks, and judging by the pastries, they also look really well crafted. I look forward to coming back and trying some of the sweets! The cafe is also just really pretty and a good spot if you wanna get some work done while treating yourself to a nice breakfast.

I recently visited Tartine Bakery, and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere and the staff is super warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a delicious treat. I ordered the vanilla latte and it was absolutely fantastic—rich, aromatic, and brewed to perfection. But the true star of the show was the ham and cheese croissant. It was flaky, buttery, and packed with flavorful ham and gooey cheese. Each bite was a delightful combination of textures and tastes that left me wanting more. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping by Tartine Bakery for some of the best coffee and pastries around!

Love their avocado toast here which they top with delicious seasonings and micro greens- which I also like to add an over medium egg or fried egg to. They also have equally delicious pasty options which are worth a try!

Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating. Best sourdough on earth with delicious homemade jam. Pastries were also amazing. Highly recommend! Try their peach tart and their orangey morning bun .

Dropped by Tartine for a meeting/work session and to grab lunch. We came at the perfect time, no line, lots of tables and spaces (minimal outlets) but overall great place to grab a coffee or lunch and chat with a friend. The pasty display is gorgeous and there is a ton of variety. We got salmon lox and a green goddess salad with chicken (which was cooked and seasoned perfectly) a simple spot with the focus on the quality of the food - which is outstanding.

Tartine is a chain that specializes in French open face sandwiches and it nails it’s specialty. The smoked salmon Tartine is my personal favorite followed by the whipped ricotta toast. They are beautifully plated and delicious! There are also breakfast sandwiches, a perfectly executed French herb omelette and flaky croissants that will make you think you’re in Paris. Grab your favorite cafe latte and enjoy!

If i could rate the price of a latte it would be a 1, but I gave 5 stars for good service and atmosphere because my $10 Tiny baby latte has nothing to do with those things. I ordered my iced 3 shot latte with oatmillk and when charged $10 I thought WOW, this is the most I've ever paid for a latte, it better be big and amazing (like Urth Caffe which is huge and cheaper) but when it came out in the smallest maybe 8oz cup I was so shocked I just literally laughed out loud. Luckily it was "good" & better than the tiny over priced coffee next door at Sightglass, but I think next time ill stick to Starbucks or Urth (if only it was walking distance like Tartine. Anyway you must be rich to drink coffee here. I do recommend the vegan avocado toast option, it's delicious and only about $5 more than a latte, so relatively cheap in comparison. I wish I could afford to drink the coffee here daily.

My daughter is new in town and stopped in just planning to grab a breakfast sandwich. From the moment she walked in, she was warmly greeted by three people, including (I believe) the manager, Johnny. He was so welcoming and made her feel right at home. Everyone here is incredibly kind, and the food is absolutely fabulous! Such a wonderful first impression. We will definitely be back again and again.

Hands down best Almond Croissant in town! Their pastries are delicious and made fresh daily. The almond croissant are the perfect ratio of buttery and crispy. And the almond paste inside isn’t decadent but rather proportionately balanced. Truly the best in town if you like your croissants fresh and a little crispy on the edges. They do run out, so make sure to come early!

Great place to work from wifi! Stable free wifi, outlets and tables. The cafe brings in really great lighting with their skylights, large windows. Service was very friendly, quick, and easy. The cafe offers a clean environment with clean esthetic bathrooms. I'd come back to visit again, but only if I get free street parking. Parking is offered with metered and paid garage parking

More for more ham and cheese croissants… Back again, ham and cheese croissants again, tried something new this time - chia pudding, was OK Stopped by again for breakfast, besides the ham and cheese croissant, tried a morning bun. Both were delicious and above Average. Recommended. Raising rating from 3 to 4 Stopped by for a breakfast snack. Doors opened late at 08:05, service at counter was below average, counter person only asked whether it’s for dine in or take out. Not asking or offering to heat up the ham and cheese croissant, not offering a beverage, no Nepkins offered. Makes you think about recruiting and training standards here.. The croissant was a little greasy but delicious. Above average for sure. I’ll come back to explore more options soon.

I ventured into this cafe, excited to try their turkey pastrami sandwich with chicken skin and avocado. While the sandwich was decent, the price tag of $21 (inclusive of tax and tip) left me a bit puzzled, considering it was essentially a cold deli sandwich. On the plus side, the cafe had plenty of seating options, making it a convenient and cozy spot to meet up with friends. The ambiance was undeniably cute, and the service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall experience.

Cozy atmosphere with plenty of seating. Great for grab and go or sit down. Pastries are however hit and miss. Brunch visually looked appetizing, but missing that flavour and deliciousness to make you want to come back again. Coffee and tea was good too.

What I ordered: Ordered the goddess salad with tuna and side of bread with butter. Food for thoughts: You would think I’m eating gold leafed lettuce with caviar croutons for the price. The food was tasty and a nice size, but can’t really justify spending $40. Overall thoughts: Pricey, at least a nice portion size. Bread was good quality. Not running back for that.

Tartine Sycamore gives an excellent first impression with these beautiful brick interior walls and sunny parlor and outdoor seatings. Just fantastic morning vibe here. There are even more seat space inside. I had a latte and a butter croissant. Coffee was just passable, the croissant was better, quite flaky and smelled good, maybe a little on the light / thin side. I also bought a half loaf multigrain country bread and ate it at home over two days. Delicious is all I can say. The bread crust didn't get hard the next day and it tasted still fresh, which is quite amazing.

Tartine's focus is their bakery and excellent pastry options. This location is spacious with ample seating, a slight Mediterranean feel, and really shines as a casual breakfast or brunch location. While not their focus, the coffee game here is decent. Parking is definitely a challenge in this area and is primarily street parking. It seems for the time being you can park in the same building for free which is nice. Definitely would come back with a few friends for good hangs and conversation.

Great tasting food but extremely over priced. We got the breakfast sandwich a side of the marble bread and the coconut pie. The sandwich I would tell people about if it was $3 cheaper. If we would have stopped with the bread this place would have gotten 5 stars, it was moist, well priced, and tasty. The pie I do tell people about, but it was not good.

Overpriced pastry that if sold in Europe would be sold under 2 bucks a piece and would still taste worse than local no named bakeries. The amount of name branding in the US to hyper inflate the cost is such duplicitous move

After three years of steady, almost religious patronage at Tartine, today I handed back my nearly full punch card and told them I won’t be coming back. The one dish that kept me loyal was their Ham & Cheese Croissant Sandwich. From the beginning, I explained that I didn’t like runny yolks, and the staff kindly accommodated me by preparing it with their “folded egg” — essentially scrambled eggs. That version became something of a quiet favorite among my friends and even my mom, who visits me often in LA. Today, however, a manager I had never seen before, who introduced herself as “Serena,” flatly refused to make the sandwich that way — even after I said I was happy to pay extra. My previous visit had also left a bad taste: another manager came by to remind me, somewhat abruptly, that the turnaround time was 90 minutes — exactly one hour into a visit where I was quietly eating breakfast in a nearly empty café. It’s unfortunate that a place with such genuinely kind staff — from baristas to runners to cooks — is managed by people who seem out of touch with what keeps loyal customers coming back. The guy behind the coffee counter today, for instance, has always been nothing but gracious. In a city where everything comes at a cost, I won’t pay for something I don’t enjoy. Goodbye, Tartine! It was good while it lasted.

Born and raised in the Bay Area, I’ve supported Tartine my whole life so this was extremely disappointing. My female friend and I (both Asian) were repeatedly reminded of the 90-minute seating policy even though the café was completely empty. Meanwhile, two white customers worked for hours without being approached once. We made multiple purchases spaced about 90 minutes apart and were still harassed. The selective enforcement was obvious and felt like racial profiling. On top of that, I’ve been to this location three times and have never once been offered to have my pastry warmed, which is basic service at Tartine. Visit a different store if you expect decent service.
