One of the best pizza places I’ve had! The food tasted so good, I got the buffalo chicken pizza for my sister and Grandma for myself. I was across the street at color me mine when I saw this place after painting. The atmosphere is so nice and relaxing. Whoever chose the music has great taste! Glad I went in to check it out!
Where do I start?? Another Review?? -Uuuhhh YES!! I Love you guys sooo much!!! Updated review (9/30/25): Yes, yes & YES!!! ALWAYS 💕 I uploaded another vid & pic of their deliiiiiish Honey DeNiro Square Pizza Slice
Nestled in the heart of Pasadena, Brooklyn Square Pizza exceeded my expectations. As a food enthusiast, I can confidently say that this hidden gem knows how to deliver an authentic slice of pizza. They also offer a selection of appetizers, sandwiches, salads, pasta, ensuring there is something for everyone on the menu. We opted for the NY Style Pepperoni Pizza, BBQ Chicken, and a Spicy Sausage Square Pizza. The bread-to-cheese ratio was perfect, baked to perfection with the most fresh ingredients. We also got the chicken tenders (lemon pepper style) and it came with a side of fries. Again, 10/10!! Thank you to the woman taking our orders who recommended the chicken tenders, she did not let us down!! We finished it off with some classic buffalo hot wings, which paired perfectly with a refreshing coke to wash it all down. Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Brooklyn Square Pizza. Customer service was phenomenal, the ambience was right, and the food hit the spot after a whole day of work. Will be returning!
We wanted NY style pizza and found this place. We got a Mushroom Pizza. Tasted Great. Fresh Mushrooms rather than Canned. Crispy Crust for the most part. My only critique would be that the Mushrooms caused a lot of Moisture in the Middle. So it almost seemed a little soggy there. I love fresh mushrooms on the pizza. I'm not sure if it would fix that issue but maybe they could pre cook the Mushrooms first and then strain the moisture out. Anyways, don't take that in a negative way. The Pizza was Very good.
I love how amazing the inside of this New York Pizza restaurant when Brooklyn Square opened 3 years ago in 2022. I will remember that pizza restaurant forever and create new memories!
A welcome addition to Old Town Pasadena! Stopped by for lunch today while I was out for a walk and noticed they were finally open. After seeing the "coming soon" signs for months, I just had to stop in. I ordered the Lucky Brook sandwich and, since I couldn't decide, also a slice of pepperoni pizza. I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza – way better than most pizza offerings around LA! The crust had just the perfect amount of crunch, the pepperoni was done to perfection with the edges just starting to curl up, and the cheese was perfectly melted. This is a refreshing addition to LA and especially Old Town Pasadena – we've had a hard time finding great pizza (especially a place to just grab a slice to go) in the area! Now we can just walk to one. As for the sandwich... wow! This thing was *stacked* thick with meat, fresh toppings, and the bread was perfectly fresh as well. (Some might even say too fresh!) I had planned to save half of it for later since I indulged with the pizza "appetizer"... but after biting into the first half, it was too good to put down. If the Lucky Brook is any indication of the rest of the menu, I'm excited to eat my way through the rest of the sandwich selections on the menu! Overall, excited that these guys are open and looking forward to more visits to try everything else they have to offer.

As a born and raised Italian from Brooklyn, I have to say Brooklyn Square truly feels like home. From the moment you walk in, you feel that real New York energy. The pizza is the real deal — crispy, flavorful, and made with the kind of care and tradition we grew up on. It’s not easy to find authentic New York–style pizza in California, but they absolutely nailed it. The sauce, the cheese, and the crust remind me of the neighborhood pizzerias back in Brooklyn. Even the sandwiches and pastas taste like the Sunday dinners I grew up with. The staff is warm, welcoming, and treats you like family, which makes the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for true New York flavor and heart, this is the place. We will definitely be back. 🤌🍕 Capice?
Yall were unbelievable, the pasta was very tasty. And the garlic knots were fresh and made my mouth water. Maggie was incredible and very friendly. 5/5
Since I ordered my sandwich online, and had someone pick it up for me, I can’t really speak to atmosphere, but I can tell you this was a great looking sandwich, which tasted just as good. The sandwich was loaded with fresh veggies, stacked high with turkey and cheese, and was just what the doctor ordered. I would put it up there with top three sandwiches. Planning to try a different sandwich next time, but it’s hard to switch it up when you’re happy with the one you got. Must try everybody.
Absolutely amazing food here. It is like going to New York and having the authentic food there made so well and so delicious. I had the hot roast beef sandwich on rye and it was so good. I cannot wait to go back and try their new York style pizza!

This places sells New York food in la. So let’s see if they’re pretty good eh or ew. I got their cheese ricotta balls, New York barbecue chicken slice, pepperoni honey dinero square, spicy pepperoni square, New York pastrami sando, black and white cookie, brownie, and New York crumb cake. The cheese balls had a crisp exterior with a savory cheesy interior and came with like a marinara cheese sauce. Pretty yummy. All the pizza slices were HUGE. Legit could cut them all in half. The New York barbecue chicken one had a thin chewy yet crisp crust with a decent amount of chicken and onions with lots of sweet tangy barbecue sauce drizzled on top. It also was a bit spicy from some jalapeños which I liked. The pepperoni honey dinero square had a fluffy bready crust with sweet dollops of ricotta and honey drizzle cut with some savory pepperoni cups. Could use a bit more pepperoni. The spicy pepperoni had a savory, tart, slightly spicy tomato sauce, with crispy cupped pepperoni. I think the dough was still raw tho-even after reheating. The pastrami sando was STACKED with tender, thin cut, savory pastrami perfectly balanced with the crunchy slaw, tangy cheese and thousand island. The bread was also nice and fluffy. All the desserts were pretty good too. The black and white cookie had a crisp sugary icing with fluffy vanillay cookie. The brownie was dense and fudgey and the crumb cake was generously loaded with cinnamon streusel. Wish I didn’t get that raw slice of pizza but otherwise this place is lowkey pretty good.
Decent place in Downtown Pasadena for sandwiches and pizzas. Most of their pizzas are large new york style or square pizzas. The pizzas are not bad especially for the price with each individual slice however there’s nothing extraordinary besides being an above average pizzeria. Would recommend if you’re looking for some comfort food.
I really enjoyed my visit here and would recommend this place and be back myself. The regular pepperoni pizza had a nice crust and good flavor. Cold sandwiches are packed and well balanced in flavor, and the Calzones were way bigger than expected and delicious with the paired marina sauce to dip.

Our family eats pizza every Friday night and as former Brooklynites we decided to give "Brooklyn Square" a try. The pizza tasted just right, from the crust, the cheese to the sauce and the amounts and quality of each. We enjoyed the pizza very much and plan to return to enjoy the other menu options. It was very busy on this Friday night and the couple next to us had ordered a pie and waited a very long time. So I'd say order a head or just order slices on the weekend. But give it a try nonetheless, as pizza is great!
Great food. Large portions the pasta serving is surely enough for 2, and no kidding their sandwichs looks just kike the picture shown. We had 2 slice pan pizzas (good crispy crust and plenty of toppings would be better freshly make for sure) , Pasta with chicken ( a little on the simple side but cooked perfectly and not oily) , house made mozzarella stick (Yum), and a Italian Bada Bing sub (it's huge and love every bite of it).
Pizza delivered via Door Dash which was very quick-3 minute drive. Pizza was lukewarm upon arrival. Ordered meat lovers-sausage has a different taste to it, sauce was a tad too sweet. All in all, not too impressed.
As a native New Yorker finicky about their deli sandwiches and pizza, Brooklyn Square is the closest I've found in Pasadena. Rheuben yesterday was very good and slices are satisfactory. They do need to man the service department a bit more IMO though.

First order was good, but the second order was mid. They left off one topping for the sausage a la vodka, but we paid extra for another… pizza was too big for the box so it folded over and got soggy on one side. Quality control is lacking imo.
Brooklyn Square — A Deep Disappointment Masquerading as New York Pizza Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1/5) Brooklyn Square markets itself with the confidence of a New York–style pizza institution, but my visit revealed a product and experience that fell dramatically short of that promise. Between the lackluster execution and a serious food safety issue, this was one of the most disappointing pizza outings I’ve had in recent memory. Ambiance – 2/5 The atmosphere was busy and energetic, which initially suggested popularity and strong demand. However, beyond the crowd, there was little about the space that evoked the charm or authenticity of a true New York pizzeria. It felt more commercial than crafted. Authenticity – 1/5 Let’s address the core claim: this is not New York–style pizza. The crust lacked the structural integrity and chew you’d expect from a proper slice. It didn’t fold correctly, didn’t carry that thin-yet-resilient texture, and lacked the subtle char and balance that define authentic NY pizza. It was just simply a very thin pizza. I’ve had more convincing renditions from major chains. The name sets expectations the kitchen simply does not meet. Flavor – 1/5 Even setting authenticity aside, the pizza itself was unremarkable. The sauce and cheese failed to create any memorable depth of flavor. But what truly ended the experience was biting into a large piece of plastic embedded in the pizza. I physically had to spit it out mid-chew. This is not just a minor flaw — it’s a serious quality control failure. Food safety is non-negotiable. Service – 2/5 The restaurant was busy, which may explain some operational strain, but that cannot excuse foreign objects in food. Regardless of rush volume, quality control should never slip to this degree. Cost – 2/5 Given the quality and the safety lapse, the price point feels unjustified. A high rating and branding can only carry a restaurant so far — execution must follow. Final Thoughts Brooklyn Square may have built a strong reputation, but based on this visit, it feels overrated and poorly managed. Authenticity was absent, quality was inconsistent, and food safety was compromised. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously — because no diner should have to worry about biting into plastic while eating a slice of pizza.
⭐ One star — because zero isn’t an option. We waited over an hour for a single pizza 🍕 in an almost empty restaurant. The two cashiers — one African American and one with a bun — were extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. They handed us a pepperoni pizza with no pepperoni after an hour of waiting. When we pointed it out, they casually said it was a mistake and offered a refund. We asked them to at least add the missing topping — we were starving — and they seemed annoyed. Then, to top it all off, they turned off the lights in our faces while we were still eating, just because they wanted to close. 😤 The food is average at best and the service is an absolute disgrace. 🛑 Never coming back. Avoid this place.

Got the square grandma pepperoni: When we picked it up it was hot and we took it home. The pizza visually was a light white/off yellow. The sauce sort of just splotched in the middle, which I think is the style this place is going for, but again, visually unappealing. The pepperoni are 2, maybe 3 times too thick, and they taste as if they came from a Lunchables . The dough of the pizza is thick and almost flavorless. Unfortunately the only flavor that comes through is sugar. I get no salt, no acid, just sugar and bland dough. The edges have a little crunch from the parmagana, which when removed from the crust an eaten by itself was enjoyable. Im sad to say I wouldn't have eaten this pizza if it cost half the price. It really just felt like a square version of frozen pizza.
lived in pasadena for over 2 years, ordered multiple times, must be under new ownership as i ordered 2 variants of chicken pizza with both having inedible amounts of pepper on the grilled chicken. called to ask about about it as ive had both the pizzas before and the manager says its how theyve always made the pizza. They gaslight me and then offered to remake it but why would I want inedible pizza twice. Dont spend your time or money, prince street on colorado at least has consistency. Management does not care about customers or making sure they have a good expeirence.
I placed an online order at 8:21pm for an 8:41 pickup. Arrived at 8:30. At 8:54 we were handed a cold pizza that was missing an extra topping and not cut the way we requested. No biggie, things happen, but I'd like a refund and to just go elsewhere or have it remade. The cashier had to FaceTime the owner who had to talk with everyone involved with the order. This took about 8 minutes while I stood at the counter. I was told that the topping was there and they dont do special cuts. Ok, sure. Why not tell me you can't make my order the way I like while in sitting in the otherwise empty lobby for 25 minutes? And if I'm paying $4 for garlic, I should be able to see (or at the very least smell) garlic on the pizza. It simply wasn't there. I was also told "we'll make it again it takes 12 minutes". Ok if it takes 12 minutes then why have I been sitting here so long to be handed a cold pizza? I returned the pizza and was told a refund would be issued. It never was. I had to dispute the charge with my bank instead. It's really unfortunate because the pizza was good the last time I ate there. The inability to issue a refund for a mistake is a huge red flag. Update: refund was received after 12 days 🙄

Waited in line for over 20 minutes, they’re hardly seemed to be anyone working there at the busy lunch hour. Ordered the veggie sandwich and had high expectations but it’s a terrible sandwich… Too much mustard, the jalapeños are too hot, the pickles are cut too thick, everything is just wrong with the sandwich. And the bread did not taste like sourdough bread it tasted like plain white bread. Not going back here for sure.
