Best pizza I've ever had however when busy you can possibly be the lucky one and have to wait almost an hour for your food or you get really lucky and you get your food after you order and pay for it. 😁

Closes thing your going to get to real New York style pizza better than Gino@Joes and better than Paldino's. I rememberas a kid going to Pavones in Penn Can mall having slice of pizza also remember having pizza from Pavones and Shopping Town mall. Had it from every location always excellent hot wings were also good. Only 4 locations left so don't have it allot. Wish owners would build 1 in Cicero or North Syracuse I would buy there pizza I miss them being in Penn Can mall hopefully someday build 1 in Cicero or North Syracuse think they do excellent there give other pizza shops a run for there money.

I don't go for the pizza, I order the pasta. Baked ziti with marinara, no cheese, and a garlic knot is all I need, this fills me up. The marinara sauce keeps me returning to Pavone's. Inside, the fellows are very kind, making this place the lunch spot for me when downtown.

We enjoyed the delicious pizza and would definitely come back. It was reasonable, fresh and hot - bill was about $9.

Just finished a very tasty lunch for less than $5; it's the closest I've had to New York (City) style pizza outside the 5 borroughs, and the garlic knots were better than any I've had even in the city.

Great dining experience. I watched the guys behind the counter interact with the people coming in to dine or take out as I ate my two fantastic slices. They treated everyone as if whatever they wanted was the most important thing they had to do. It wasn’t forced, it was genuine. I’ll be back here often.

We took 16 high school students to Syracuse for a college visit/mall trip. The pizza place that we were supposed to go to in the mall told us they couldn’t handle our pay-over-the-phone order two days prior to the trip. I called Pavone’s and they were wonderful! We ended up going there and the pizza was so great, and they were awesome to all of us. We visit a lot of places with students for college trips, but these guys impressed me!

Some of the nicest people I've met. The staff is very proactive and the boss is always on point. Always asking if I wanted a drink while I was waiting for my food, small things like that make a place like this inviting. Plus the food ain't half bad either. They have a wide selection to choose from as well. Only downside is it's a cash only place, but they have an ATM inside as well so it works out. It can be super busy around lunch time as well, but to me, it's worth it. Highly recommended.

We live out of state and this is one of the hometown foods we enjoy while we're here, we did go to Bridge St. It's out of the way. My granddaughter thinks she should have Pavone's every other day at least. 😁 When is the downtown store opening back up?

A staple in downtown Syracuse where delicious slices of New York style pizza are served - try the broccoli and cheese! Pepperoni also yummy. Great sandwiches. Awesome manager, Vinny, who has worked there for about 30 years and is very pleasant and efficient.

I’ve been meaning to write a review for a while. My husband and I live around the block and Pavone’s is our go to for pizza. It never disappoints, and service is great! We have tried a few of their pizzas - all amazing - but we particularly love their sausage pizza with meat sauce for dipping! Side note: sometimes they sell out on Friday evenings, so we started ordering on Thursday for a Friday pickup.

This place was highly recommended by many people and so we came to try it. The 5 stars is for the pizza. We had a small sausage and pepperoni and our kids had a small cheese Very good,very reasonably priced. the owner was very nice, he knows what he’s doing and is from the same State as me which was cool to learn. I was a little uncomfortable with being stared at and whispers from the workers it’s a little rude. We are first time visitors of NewYork period and we were traveling with our kids (5 kids) and it was just a little uncomfortable. Yes we have a large family we aren’t the first. My order came up differently priced than it should’ve because someone tipped theirselves. Pizza was great and of course I was going to tip but it would’ve been nice if I could’ve chose to tip and what to tip. Food wise everything was awesome. Would order again but probably just delivery.

Decided to stop here for dinner after enjoying lights on the lake - when first walking in they seemed not busy, nice & very professional. Was expecting their small pizzas to be smaller, so when I seen the size I was for sure happy with the money I had spent & when I tasted the food as well nothing different could be said. My mom used to love pavones in destiny mall back 25+ years ago when she would go with my grandmother, & hasn’t been since they moved out of the mall. I'm from Texas, and coming here gave me a real taste of NY pizza and service. Behind the counter was quick service, lots of banter and laughter, and in enjoyed myself quite a bit!

If you're fan of well baked thin crust pizza, this is your place. Whenever I get a craving for thin crust pizza and I am in downtown Syracuse I have to stop at this place for at least a couple slices or perhaps a whole pie. It is a cheaper alternative to the trendy pizza places down the block in Armory Square. They do get busy at lunch time but at other times of the day there's no wait. I've been stopping here for years. I guess my only negative comment is that they have a tough time keeping up with mopping the floor with clean solution and wiping down the tables. They should also swap out the urinal cakes once in a while. I like places that are sparkly clean and without the stench of urine when I go in the bathroom to wash my hands.

It had been 4or5 or years since I had their pizzas, but I'm glad that I stopped by and ordered a large garlic pie... By the time I got home, it was almost cold, however, it was still the way that I remember their chewy crust and it was delisioto🙂👍🏻

Great pizza. The first time i went was almost 9 years ago on my wedding weekend with my wife. We went again on our 8th Anniversary, and it was just as good the second time. The funny part is we didnt realize it aas the same place until after we were eating. Great pizza, nice employees, easy acces, and did i mention great pizza.

Love the pizza, just gotta make sure if you're getting two slices to ask for them side by side on the plate. My came in a bag with one on top of the other and when I went to pick up the top slice it peeled the cheese and toppings off of the bottom one. Might have been a lunch rush thing.

We ordered delivery for a family. The pizza is good not too greasy with the right amount of crisp. The wings were memorable with the right amount of sauce. Fried vegetables are a great alternative. The fried zucchini tasted just like French fries.

Pizzas looked like they were sitting for quite awhile. Got spaghetti with links. Heated up in oven too long and had crunchy burned pieces of pasta. Didn't finish. Came with garlic roll, bottom was burned black. Pulled center of roll out and that's what I ate. Hours of operations during the week are 11am to 8pm their Google info shows 10:30am this could be difficult specially in its location. Definitely need to change the hours info online.

Had two experiences. Pinwheels are great, I know Syracuse people love Pavone's but as a out of towner from buffalo, found the pizza rather average, actually it was very salty and kinda ruined it. And when we ordered from the wrong location and I called to pay for the pizza I wasn't going to be able to pick up I was then chewed out on the phone for a solid 5 minutes being told how stupid I was etc. So yeah...

This location has significantly gone downhill as far as consistency. We went there today and got pizza to go and it was really undercooked, and it almost looked like the cheese was a different type of cheese than they've used for decades. The staff was really nice, but I'm not sure that I will return to this location.

They’re delivery guy is a thief !!!!! My boyfriend gave him $29 on a $23 check and he pocketed the $20 and tried to say we only gave him $9!!! I’m a regular in the store and that was the FIRST time I’ve ordered delivery from them and I’m extremely disgusted because they took the drivers side. I’m a server and my boyfriend is in sales so we know how it is and wouldn’t try to cheat someone out of any money.

Don’t order pavones at Syracuse Mets game. Highly disappointed. No where near the same quality as bridge streets. Pizza was thick like the pre made dough bought at grocery store. Little Cesar’s is of better quality. They should be embarrassed to have the name pavones on this pizza. And it was $7 for a tiny slice! Never again.

Have gone to the one on butternut for years, it was my favorite pizza place. Just got an extra cheese from the Warren location.... not even enough cheese for a regular pizza. Not sure where my extra cheese went. Crust edges were at least an inch and a half and mostly burnt. Never again. Worse pizza ever. Very disappointed

My company just moved downtown last week. For lunch today I decided to get a slice of pizza. I went into Pavones downtown. I am familar with the Butternut location as we have a church upstairs and also the location in Dewitt. I wait in line for almost 10 mins, make my way to the register and was told cash only. When I asked the emoloyee where the sign was he said there wasnt one. In an age of electronic payments I guess you are suppose to automatically know its cash only. None of the other locations are like that. Thank you for showing me how lacklustre your service is. I will not be back amd will let other co workers and member of my church know of the poor service.

They delivered to us one week, and then in the next week, changed their mind about delivering to The Strathmore area. They are 8 miles from our home, it’s not like I asked them to drive 30 miles in a blizzard. On top of that, they were rude about it. Totally unprofessional.

WORST PLACE EVER! Called to make a order and pay with my card but because it was not at lease $25 they would not take my order. They said I need to go to a ATM and get money out and I explained I can't because I am at work and having someone else pick it up. The guy on the phone said "oh well" and HUNG UP ON ME!! will NEVER go there because of this.

I called yesterday to preorder pick up order at 11am an hour before I needed it. I was told that they couldnt possibly have it ready before 1pm. So decided to not order. Today I called at 9:45 for a 12pm chicken parm pick up no pasta. They didnt include marinara.

We were in town for the weekend and ordered from here because of the reviews. Our food was an hour late. We were missing several items including wings and sauce. I ordered a calzone and it was way undercooked, and when I say undercooked I mean it was the color of raw dough. We were refunded from grubhub for the wings but nothing else. Just awful.

My co workers all ordered a sheet pizza from this location. We called the desired location and were transferred unknowingly to the Butternut location store. When walking to pick up our pizza and the desired location was closed. We then called the Butternut location, and they replied that they are unable to deliver pizza until 1-2 hours later. By this time our pizza would be cold. I am upset, as we should have known which location we were ordering from. We decided to skip pizza altogether.

Order a specialty pizza. They gave me a pepperoni pizza that had to been made earlier that day and put the toppings on it which made the pizza tastes old and stale will not order from them again watch The Man go outside smoke a cigarette dig up his nose and went in and made a pizza. I would never order from them again

My office loves the pizza from here, so we decided to order for National Pizza Day. Tried calling and could not get through so I placed the order though Slice, only to have it canceled 30 minutes later. Walked down to shop to find that it was closed for updates. Which is great but you really should post closures on your website or phone system, especially on National Pizza Day.

My wife picked up pizza on April 5, 2024 at about 1130-1200 for me, her and our 4 year old. I bit into it and almost broke a tooth on a dirty old penny of all things. Ive tried calling to tell them about the incident but no one picks up. How does a penny make it into a pizza under cheese and toppings? It grossed me out to think what else could be in the pizza and I threw the rest of it away. So glad my kid didn’t get that piece and choke to death on it.

Whoever cut this pizza must have been wearing a blindfold. I typically love their pizza because it has a thin crispy crust. This pizza was thick and mushy. The garlic wings barely had flavor. Pretty disappointed in this visit. I recommend sticking to their slices instead of a whole pie.
