We come here strictly for the incredible to go chicken bursting with awesome fire roasted flavor, the non overwhelming taste rice(my son is picky and this is an item he enjoys), my daughter loves the mild beans, their Mac and cheese is decent as well, and the staff on Whittier Blvd is always super friendly and we really appreciate that.

I have two other Pollo Loco's to choose from before this one pops up but we love the cook at this location Monday thur Friday in the evenings, we have been saying hi to him the hole entire 22 years we been going there. I love this El Pollo Loco, the food is always fresh and tasty. There are two El Pollo Loco near me but I drive to this one for the freshness. My sister in law went with me and now she understands why I go to this location. Everyone is always so very nice and respectful. This is my favorite El Pollo Loco and I highly recommend this location.

My mom loves some el Pollo Loco so I had to grab a healthy alternative to the weekend cheat meal and this was perfect, hot chicken and sides with lots of hot flour tortillas for my kids! Food was tasty, juicy chicken and flavorful!

It's an El Pollo Loco, not much different than the others. But the food was good the service quick, and the staff friendly! I'll be back for sure!

Food is always good here- very busy Drive-thru arounfd lunchtime so if you are on a time crunch, order ahead on the app and go inside to pick up.

Too bad there is no more salsa bar where one can take as needed. Otherwise, still good food.

I like the quality of the service by the cashier and the speed in which my food was ready. However the salsa bar and the drinks area were a bit of a mess. But... it was peak lunch time and there were lots of customers.

Sometimes, the chicken is over cooked that you can use it to scrap off barnacles off a ship.

Nearly perfect. Food is amazing, service with a smile but quite a few times we drove off without our complete order in the bag and had to go back.

Be sure to get the El Pollo Loco app, it's equivalent to a 10% discount for frequent customers (like me). This particular location has friendly staff and they get my order right every time. Drive-thru line is a bit long during peak of lunch time, so I try to go a bit after like 1:15 it's fine.

Yummy fresh chicken and sides. Great double chicken tostada! Be sure to check your "to go" order for everything you paid for! The staff is wonderful and hard working, so they occasionally leave things out.

Well, It's the second time this week I've brought home food from there. Gotta be careful when ordering because they try to talk you into double ordering. I wanted a double order of soup, rice and beans only, and ended up with a double order of everything... I've got chicken, soup and rice for days....LOL!

Had a 3 piece meal leg and thigh and the chicken was great! Cole slaw was ok and could have been better... broccoli is just broccoli... cooked well... tortillas were not cooked.. raw but warm.. avocado salsa is not that great... very watered down and no flavor.. salsa roja is good. This pollo loco is better than the other Whittier one. Good job!

The value of going to a chain restaurant is that at least the food and service are consistent. Sometimes that is consistently good, other times consistently not so good. El Pollo Loco is usually pretty decent grilled chicken, supposedly healthier than the Colonel's fried stuff. This El Pollo Loco is consistently screwed up. Others of the same chain in the area do much better. The only reason we stopped there is we were going that way. Really they need to take this franchise and give it to someone else to run. Everything there just seems subpar. From ordering until you get the food. My suggestion is drive to the one in La Habra, just 3 miles to the east.

The drive thru is very frustrating to go through. I have to keep repeating myself and they hear what they want. When you get home you notice things are missing but don't want to even bother going back to deal with their nonsense. Good luck with a huge order that isn't really complicated whatsoever.

I bought myself a chicken tostada salad it was extremely small and I was still hungry when I finished. The restaurant was a little dirty, you are no longer able to have a person take your order you have to order through the kiosk. Overall and okay-ish experience

We like this location better than any other one near here but could you PLEASE make your guacamole better? The last two times I ordered it, it was brown and had a weird smell. In the past when we’d order it, it was mushy like the kind you buy in the store. Not the good kind either. We love the chips and guacamole but now we’re going to have to pass. I’m tired of wasting money on something that may or may not be good.

Not really their fault, but the restaurant is situated in such a way that it's tricky to get to the parking lot. It was crowded the day I went, so it took a while to get our food. I tried to rojo salsa; super spicy, but good if you like the heat. All in all, this place is what you can expect from any El Pollo Loco.

Drive through very slow, uncaring service, food thrown on plates. Employees show no pride in what they do. I've tried several locations and get same service. It appears to be universal.

Chicken is always dry and shriveled. Birria tacos are good but 2 for $10 is really high priced

Unfortunately, I saw our cashier scrape broken chips with a chip bag from the counter and throw the scraps back into the chip tray. From there, she bagged them for orders.

I have never received such small pieces of chicken in my life here at P/Loco. I ordered two piece white - the breast was tiny and wing was hiding underneath the breast. We ordered guacamole- it tasted like lime - returned it they just refunded my $. My wife’s Double chicken avocado salad looked sad. The avocado from Mexico looked like it was battered n bruised. The disappearing chicken! Order the Breast and Wing combo, but was left with wondering where the rest of the regular chickens went? Very small portion of breast, left me feeling this was an appetizer, rather than a meal. Very disappointed and not a filling meal whatsoever.

Went though the drive-thru the services are very slow there waited about 15 minutes before arriving to the window I never had a problem before until today we ordered the family combo and I do not eat corn tortillas they gave me quantity instead of flour I asked for extra side of coleslaw and they gave me an extra drink the lady at the window was very rude and unprofessional.

Terrible experience. They did not understand fully how their Loco rewards work & made us feel very uncomfortable having people waiting in line behind us while they tried figuring out how to resolve the matter which they said they couldn't & we had to help them figure it out for us.

After tonight service, I decided to look at the reviews that I agree with. The females on the night crew are very rude, as we double checked our order at the counter, we didn’t see our mac & cheese. On top of our beans was rice we thought it was a mixup so we asked for the mac & cheese and pulled out the rice, the girl who put the order together literally snatched the rice off the countertop and said “Oh I gave you an extra side your mac & cheese is under the salsa” She grabbed the rice off the counter as if she was paying out of pocket for the rice. Made us feel super awkward.. We double check the order cause every time they forget a side it’s a drag going to this place at night

On 2/19/2023 around 7:15. We order on drive thru and a young girl that took the order was very on experience to treat customers. She needs a good training before taking a job thats gonna require good communication, respect and shold kindness to their customers.

Was at Pollo Loco Wednesday night, 1/13/21 (that's the night a big rig truck blocked the driveway entrance) food does taste great but service was extremely disappointing, ordered take out and they forgot my two large extra sides, and they gave me rice when I ordered mac n cheese. If that isn't enough, after all these mistakes, when I got home, they also forgot my corn tortillas. This is not the first time they have messed up my order. I found another location to go to, but they were closed due to *Covid 19* so came back to this location and was disappointed again. I firmly believe when you have this many issues, it's time to get new management. I like Pollo Loco food, just hate going there, and don't trust takeout at all.

Just got home with our order. Have to say we are all really disappointed Ordered 2 piece thigh and leg and I don't know if I ever got such tiny pieces of chicken ever anywhere. the thigh is cut into a square 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 and super thin. the meat is tough and dry. The leg I got is the same size as my index finger, also. I got 1 tortilla. all that for over 8 bucks. My wife's 2 piece she ordered with breast and thigh meal must have come from a guinea hen and it was anorexic Total Fail. this place Jipped us out of over 20 bucks. I do not reccomend this one. The food at all El Pollo Loco locations is consistently great. The food at this location is no exception. However, there are 2 major setbacks here that take all rating stars away: 1. Prices are considerably higher, as much as $2 on some meals. 2. The employees have zero customer skills, never a smile or even a hint of pleasantness that would make you want to pick this location over the others. My senior group had this place all to ourselves, no surprise because of the prices and lack of employee pleasantness. I hope this location can get a manager who can increase employee pleasantness, increase customer traffic, and possibly lower prices if business picks up.

I recently ordered takeout for the 2pc chicken meal and discovered that EPL took away the individual measured cups for the side orders and replaced them with a container tray that holds all the items. When I got home I saw that the juice from the Cole slaw ran into the juices from the beans, and under the chicken pieces. I also noticed the serving sizes of the the two sides looked smaller than what used to be the standard amount filled into the cups. Customers get smaller amounts but yet El Pollo's menu prices keeps on rising as of 2/15/25. Now, what that brilliant corporate decision does is totally eliminate the measurement of food that the cups provided 95% of the time, and transfers the responsibility of fairness to the individual server's particular mood of the day, or allows the server to use the customary big spoon and guess how much food to put into each customer order, like how much corn, rice, beans, etc, to put into the tray. Chipotle uses the same practice whereas the serving size is different for each (paying) because they use hand held tongs to serve the food which usually differs depending on any number of factors concerning the servers daily demeanor. The servings aren't equal to put it simply. I've seen restaurant staff members serving up unequal amounts of food from one customer to the next. What these fast food restaurants need to do is invest in precise serving utensils, if fairness is to be had by all. I haven't been back to EPL since they changed to one plate fits all. Tired of being ripped-off.

I have been here dozens of times. Always the drive through. And every time they give the worst portion sizes. But, I'm always tired after a long day to drive back and complain. Today I finally ate inside, surprise... Even worse. I ordered a double chicken bowl. Same or less chicken that comes in a regular bowl. And half of it was shredded, not the chopped chunky pieces. I did some research and came to find out it's a franchised Pollo loco. Meaning it's privately owned. So that says a lot. I don't know how they don't have a lower rating. Maybe I have the worst luck in the world. Also, I rarely leave reviews.

**CHECK YOUR FOOD THOROUGHLY BEFORE EATING HERE !!!** Last December I ordered the 3 tacos al carbon to-go and after eating 1 taco, I noticed my second taco had pieces of foil in it !!!!!!!!!! 😝🤢😧😱😵 The store was already closed so I couldn't (and didn't really want to) drive back there for a refund. I contacted customer support and almost a week later I received an email from the store manager to give him a call. By this time I had already forgotten about the issue and this was the last thing on my mind. I responded to the email requesting a refund, but I never heard back. Normally I don't write reviews but I felt like I needed to, because if this happened to me this could happen to anyone and the nonchalant attitude I got in response to my complaint was rude and down right unacceptable. I will not be visiting this location ever again.
