Food is always hot and fresh when we visit. Took the kids tonight and had 0 complaints.

I try to eat at a Mexican Inn whenever I'm in the metroplex. I always order Arroz Con Pollo. It doesn't matter which location I go to, it tastes the same and it is delicious. Their home-made corn chips are similar to Fritos, but they have a light & crispy authentic flavor that pairs perfectly with their hot sauce. So yummy! Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants.

I had A waiter by the name of pat. he was best served I've had in years! Come in on valentines after my wife broke up with me and took the kids. So I decided to have my last meal if you know what i mean. The way he was full with energy and so nice made me rethink my intention I had that day. Best guy in business no doubt

We had a lovely dinner! The food was hot and delicious. Our waitress Zaskia was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was bright and accommodating, we ate on the covered patio.

Visiting from Washington state, This was always a family favorite to come to. I had the beef/chicken fajitas and the blended house margarita. The house made tortillas, chips and salsa are always so amazing. I wish we had a Mexican in where I'm from.

This location rocked it...both service and food were outstanding. Yes, server staff was short staffed but our waitress handled our high top in the bar, the entire bar and another section, like a pro. She kept the drinks flowing..the chips and salsa (and tortillas) were kept stocked throughout our visit. The food was delish!..nothing left!

Another well established delicious restuarant. Signature plates that's make you come back another day in the week because, why not! Also, i could get full off their chips and salsa alome. They ar fritos, and they look like their made in house. Amazing delicious!

Started with the chips and salsa. Chips are a thick homemade frito/corn chip style. Salsa is sweet with a slight kick. Ordered queso for the appetizer and it was fresh and delicious. Peppers are nicely diced and have a good texture. The brisket enchiladas were well seasoned and juicy. We’ll be back for sure!

Always such a great experience and such terrific Mexican food. It’s always fresh. There’s always more than you need and it’s always friendly here.

One step inside and I knew I was going to like this place. The restaurant looked inviting and I was promptly greeted. I sat at a welcoming well lite bar and immediately was served chips and salsa. The chips were unusual in that they reminded me of oversized Fritos. The salsa was excellent. You also get freshly made corn tortillas that were awesome. Agnus was my server and she was fast, nice and helpful. I ordered the homemade tortilla soup and it arrived piping hot within minutes. (See photo). The soup had tons of shredded chicken and veggies with a delectable broth base. I added a simple chicken quesadilla with this and it also came quickly loaded with sides. I can’t wait to come back and try more. This place is super clean, friendly and the food is top tier. This is Tex-Mex at best.

I was craving enchiladas and what I got exactly hit the spot! Big bonus...the tamale!!! Excellent. You know their chips are unique, so that was nice as well.

We went for a late lunch and it was quite delicious. I had cheese enchiladas. It usually comes with rice and beans, but I don't like beans so I got double rice. Everything was hot and fresh.

Delicious Tex-Mex food. Great value, large portiins, food is always hot. The chips are yummy and unique to the Mexican Inn. The salsa is uber tasty (little to no cilantro, thank you). The staff is friendly, knowledgable, quick, and visable. Their frozen and house margaritas are astounding. The Mexican Inn is a Fort Worth icon. Many FTW locals have eaten at one of thier many locations since the 1936.

I was born in 1965, the first place my parents took me after I left the hospital was Mexican Inn Cafe, the one on Lancaster Avenue. No i was not fed mexican food, however as this was my parents favorite place, I have considered this my family's favorite for over 50 yrs. If I were ever in a position to experience a final meal, this would be it.

This restaurant has the best chips and the service was amazing. The enchiladas and charro beans were simply the best!

I went there for my friends bday this year and last year too. That's the only time we drink margaritas. We had a blast and laughed. The atmosphere was comfortable. Waitress was the sweetest and patient. See you next year, Mexican Inn Cafe!

Good chicken tortilla soup almost as good as Richardo's in Laguna Niguel, CA which is the best anywhere. So, that is saying something. Had the chicken burrito bowl and it was excellent. I stop by there after my physical therapy sessions at Green Wood Therapy.

My go-to for Mexican food. Their chips are soooo good. Everything I've had there is great. Service is always great as well!!

My wife and I feel Mexican Inn Cafes are the best sit down, table service Mexican food in Fort Worth. Our sour cream chicken enchiladas were rolled in fresh tortillas, chicken was excellent tender and perfect seasoning. Rice was the best we have had. Hot sauce was good, but should be served warm. Clean restrooms and dining area. It takes a lot for all 5's, but here it is. I hope your dining experience is as pleasant as ours was.

I ate at Mexican Inn for the first time and it was fantastic. The menu items were plenty and they even had a plate that was exactly what I usually have to order a la carte at every other Mexican food restaurant I've eaten at in the past. The food was fantastic and they even bring soft corn tortillas and butter to the table without you having to ask for them. Bonus.... they don't charge extra either. I will definitely be back when I'm in town.

The food, staff, and ambiance were excellent, and I plan to return. The food quality remains consistently high; however, the sopapillas were subpar, with the honey tasting excessively diluted. They lacked the previous fluffy texture, and the accompanying fried chips exhibited a burnt, oily taste, even my two-year-old granddaughter disliked them. While the meal and service were exceptional, the dessert was a disappointment.

I’m so glad me and a few ex coworkers had our annual Christmas get-together here today! Everything was so good and fresh! I had the brisket tacos which will now be added to my favorites! We came here for lunch on a Sunday at around 12 PM with a party of eight adults and two infants. I ordered beef burritos that came with a side of rice and beans, and my wife ordered chicken enchiladas. Everything came out super hot and were well seasoned. Mexican inn is like a Fort Worth tradition serving up their freshly made corn chips and their chicken and rice. This location was clean and had friendly service. The prices may be a tad high but it is good food. Their chicken and rice is definitely worth it

The wait staff here was very polite, our food was good and it wasn't overly expensive. My only downside was that waiters and waitresses seemed somewhat shorthanded with how many tables and people they were serving because they seated every group in a giant cluster. I felt bad for my waitress who I could tell was racing.

Been coming to Mexican Inn since the 70s and the food is still pretty decent. Cheese Enchiladas, Burritos and Tacos are good, and chips are homemade Frito style. Service was SUPER slow for drinks AND food. Slowest I have ever encountered there.

It's ok. The decor is bright and cheerful. Rather festive. The service was very friendly and efficient. The chips and salsa...salsa tasty..chips looked like home made puffy Fritos..kind of greasy and bland..they could use a bit of salt. It's nice they bring a container of warm corn tortillas with butter..the tortillas are obviously prepackaged mass produced...but they are served nicely warmed. I had the tamale dinner..food was very tasty and plentiful. My daughter had the beef burrito..huge burrito served with rice and beans. This place is pretty good, but not highly authentic.

It has been years since we’ve been here. One of those places where we didn’t remember if we liked it or not so we had to give it another try. For starters you don’t get normal tortilla chips. They are more like fritos. Very tasty but extremely hard to scoop with. We ordered their queso loco. Good portion but it lacked flavor. Very hard to eat with the brittle chips as well. I ordered their pick 3 with chicken enchiladas and a crispy beef taco. The enchiladas were way too peppery. The crispy beef taco lacked flavor and was dripping in grease. My husband ordered their lunch fajitas. Flavor was just okay but the lunch portion is very small. My son ordered their pick 2 with a cheese enchiladas and a soft beef taco. This boy loves a good cheese enchiladas. Unfortunately he took 1 bite and couldn’t eat any more of it. His taco was also very bland and greasy. We will not be returning. It instantly gave my son a stomachache. We were also sat near the restroom which had a strong urine odor.

Everything was as I expected it would be for a Tex-Mex place. The decor, the food, the service; everything. I tried the combo platter with three items, I had a cheese enchilada a beef taco and a pork tamale. They were all quite good. The beans and rice of course we're as expected. I think the highlight is the house made chips which appear and taste more like Fritos than what you normally get in the salsa was excellent. I didn't think to ask if they had a hot version I will try to remember to do that next time. My sister was with me and she had two chicken enchiladas with sour cream sauce and enjoyed them as well. This is a good solid lunch or dinner spot. It's very reasonably priced and I will be back.

Very unhappy with the menu offerings. Since when was a chimichanga not popular enough or too expensive to make? It's my first and last time coming here. This location is very small, also with a smaller menu. Two stars because the waitress was nice and it wasn't too busy mid-afternoon. We came for an early date night, and I felt completely embarrassed that this location didn't live up to the standards of other locations, namely the one on Hulen Street in south Fort Worth. The last time I had been there, it was a great experience. This one was lackluster. On The Border is one minute up the road and has double the menu. I got exactly what I wanted to eat, with plenty of room to breathe as well. We should've gone there, but I wanted to give this Mexican Inn Cafe location a chance. I regret it and continue to do so. The menu change makes zero sense to me. There is more competition on this side of town (H-E-B area), so why not offer a larger menu for patrons? I will gladly throw money at a restaurant that has good atmosphere, isn't too loud, doesn't feel claustrophobic, etc. Just very strange that this location and menu were NOT thought out well. This location should not be included in the legacy of Mexican Inn Cafe.

Service was great, but the food was not fresh or seasoned, except for the shrimp, which I only got three of. In a typical fajita you get onions and peppers, I received a bed of onions and three slices of pepper. Please see the photo. Like I said service was good but the food was disappointing, especially coming from out of town I was expecting way more especially for 15 bucks and some change.

Tried to use gift card i purchased at this location, they said it was no good and threatened to call the police on me. My son and I came here to enjoy our father and son time together, the food was good, drinks were ok, but the service was horrible. I received my bill and my my ticket only to find out two days later, the waitress added extra number to my tip amount and stole money from me. The manager and area manager did minimum to address thus situation. I refuse to go back to a reasurant where people steal from you. I advise others, to check your bank/ debit card to ensure this hasn't happened to you. I will never go back to this place.

We had purchased a $25 gift card from this restaurant. When we attempted to use it, we were told that it was no good, they would not honor it, and if we didn't pay, they would call the police on us. Not only were we CHEATED of $25, but humiliated in the restaurant.

You could have recovered from this and still ended with a 20% or more tip . To the bartender, you made it ok and earned the additional mixing tax .

Very disappointed with how this place handled a serious safety issue. My son who is recovering from a groin injury slipped and fell in the bathroom due to a large puddle of water on the floor. There were no warning signs, no attempt to keep the area dry, and clearly no regular checks being done. What made this worse was the manager’s response—or lack of one. When I brought it to their attention, they were dismissive not even an apology or concern for my child’s well-being. Accidents happen, but how a business responds says everything. We won’t be returning.

This has been one of my favorite restaurants for years, but my last encounter there was completely unacceptable. Had a new waiter who told us he was new. That’s fine, we were prepared to be more accepting of certain mistakes. He didn’t write anything down, he couldn’t remember what drinks were ordered, he kept apologizing but not ever really doing anything to improve. Our drinks would be empty, chips and salsa empty and he would walk right past us not saying anything. What’s worse is I ordered quesabirria, pointed at it on the menu for no confusion. Moments later his manager confronts me like I’m out of line “we don’t have that, we can’t cook it”. No apology, no sorry for the misunderstanding, just blatant and pretty base level hostility. I ordered a beef fajita salad, then the waiter brought me a quesadilla. Total incompetence. Y’all need to get it together, don’t plan on coming back for a while but if I do and your staff and management isn’t significantly leveled up I won’t return and I’ll update this review accordingly. UPDATE-This got worse. I tipped this very sorry excuse of service $1.99. They changed the tip to $10.99. I’m definitely not coming back. Y’all are crooked and need new management asap

I’m honestly shocked that this location has 4.3 stars. I came in and the waitress was subpar, and when it came to cash out she took my debit card and returned with the copy to sign. I was in mid conversation/not paying attention and thought I put my card in my bag. I signed the copy and left. Once I got into my car I decided to look in my bag to make sure, and it wasn’t in there. I immediately called and asked if my card was there and they said no. And I said well I’m not sure I ever got it back. After describing my waitress they said they would check with her. They came back on the phone and said that my card was not there. I went back inside and lo and behold they found my card. They would not tell me where my card was found. This waitress and management is beyond sketchy, and I will never come back to Mexican Inn which is disappointing because my family loved this place.

I truly WANTED to be excited about this location, but after experiencing what I did within the first 5 minutes it was hard to do so. I paid $15 for a "large" "deluxe" nachos that was medium at best and far from deluxe. The chips tasted stale and the cheese looked like old orange paste. The beef was poor quality, flaky, overcooked and hardly present. They sure did make sure to give me a ton of cheap lettuce and tomato!! Not to mention everything was drenched in grease and the "complimentary" chips I received were drenched in oil also. I was damn near sick by the end of forcing this food down so I didn't feel like I completely wasted my money. For what I paid, it was absolute daylight robbery. My suggestion to this place is either double your portion size at this price point or reduce the price by half. I ordered at 2pm on a Tuesday but somehow had to hold for almost 8 minutes just to place a to go order that didn't take but more than 2 minutes to place. I don't see myself coming back here, as "Tex-Mex" restaurants are plentiful in the area and more competitive with their prices and services.
