Love the new car hop Bradley, always polite and respectful and gets my order right the first time!! Great choice in hiring a friendly hard working young man!!! Only ask for him when I go!!
I have to give this Sonic high praise for their SuperSonic Breakfast burritos. I usually have a special request when I order and it has always come out just how I ordered it. They make their burrito with fluffy eggs, not flat, and that makes their burrito taste more like a homemade breakfast rather than one heated under a heat lamp. I have eaten this same burrito at other Sonic's and theirs does not stack up to the burritos made by the Sonic in Boyd, TX.
The Sonic in Boyd TX has the BEST service and friendliest staff. I only ordered a hot fudge Sunday, which was delicious.
Boyd Sonic never disappoints. They're only human and the occasional times something has been wrong they go above and beyond to fix it immediately. Sam is my favorite car hop:-) go here every single day for happy hour drinks when the kids get off the bus.
I will admit that five stars haven’t always been my rating for this sonic but man i sure do give 10/10 stars now because of Tony. He is spectacular and so so sweet to us and always giving us a great smile! We love coming here and come almost every night to see him!
Best employee on staff is Kacie Harlan. Always so friendly and polite. If there is a mistake with your order, she never argues about it, she fixes it instantly. You're always greeted with a smile from this young lady.
This store has the friendly ladies working there! I suspect they were recruited from a certain chicken chain ... Just kidding. I know they are TEXAS friendly. This is the ONE Sonic that can take a big order in the drive through and DOESN'T mess it up! Seriously, I'll leave Newark and drive further into Boyd to go to this store instead of the other locations. Plus, they know what a Pup Cup is and who it's for!
The Manager Stacey was super patient! I can be indecisive and changed my order 3 times. She was very helpful with the different options within the menu. Will definitely be coming back!
My husband and I come here regularly and we love the Boyd, TX location better than other sonic locations. Some employees give exceptional service, especially Felicity! She’s always super friendly, cares about giving you the best quality service and the best food. She also always ensures the order is correct which is going above and beyond what other locations do. I always like ordering a “secret” menu item called a Sonic Sunrise and there are a few girls, including Felicity, that make that drink excellent and give me suggestions on other awesome flavor options. We will continue coming back because of the service we receive. 5 stars to Felicity⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Sonic Burgers and fries are very basic. But sometimes that's all you need. Historically, I am not a huge fan of Sonic food, but I needed food in my belly, and this place was close. The reason I'm leaving such a high star review of Sonic here in Boyd TX, is because in this day and age where the customer service everywhere has declined so much, I was pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the facilities. Those two things will bring me back to this Sonic over others.
Showed up for lunch twice now. This lady working the window has been amazing both times. My transaction messes up, and she fixes it. I don't know the name of the sandwich, but she does! Great experience for fast food in Boyd
Five stars for the visit at the sonic. The service was awesome. They were running a special and my daughter and I both got a big cheeseburger meal for a total of 13.00 can't beat that!
Was super food and fast service. Just want you to bring back your cinnamon bites with cream cheese. I lived for those... But trying others elsewhere...please, please bring them back.

My past several experiences with the Sonic in Boyd have been absolutely stellar! Staff was friendly, helpful and smiling. Service was prompt and order was perfect. The pup cup for my little dog was a thoughtful addition. Overall, I was very pleased! I don't know what's changed there, but it's definitely changed for the better!
I don't usually review fast food but today I was impressed!! Every stall was full (lunchtime)from the moment I got there until I left. It literally took them seconds after pushing the button to take my order and less than 4 minutes to my car!! 😳 Carhop was friendly and my order was accurate! First time ordering the toaster bacon cheeseburger and it was perfect! Well done Boyd!!

Food is good as usual. Snippy, snotty attendant that should not have been working there. No thanks or even acknowledgement of generous tip. If I see her again I'm driving off. UPDATE: no sign of snotty attendant today, service was very courteous. Raising to 4 stars.
Good experience. The person I ordered from was easy to hear and understand and was able to clarify some questions. They were a little slow but I did arrive during happy hour and they were fairly full.
Lot of the stall stalls weren't working, forgot my marinara and got my order wrong...but they made up for great customer service! Shad was very courteous, the met me in the drive through and got my correction handled like a boss! Oh...still 100% better than Azle location..and I live in Azle lol
Changed my review as I thought I was reviewing a specific Sonic in Boyd, TX, not the chain. I actually like Sonic quite a but but no longer live near one so don't get to one as often as I used to. I'm also pleasantly surprised that a response was posted as quickly as it was. The original review - Ordered from the the mobile app. After I had started order from another stall i discovered that it wasn't working even when pushing call button. I had to pull out and find another stall that was working so I could complete the order. No out of order sign anywhere on the stall.. Pulled out into another slot so I could complete the order, which was done at 11:35. At around 12:15 I pushed call button to find out where order was. Was told there was no order (told her my credit card was already charged), then there was no order under my name, then couldn't find order, what did I order and finally your order will be right out. I guessed they found it. Order brought out and bag just handed to me without usual tray with napkins and condiments or even interaction from carhop. This didn't matter to me but I noticed. I opened bag and food was completely cold like it had been sitting for quite awhile. I again pushed call button and told them food cold. When carhop came out I asked if their location wasn't used to mobile orders in case this was the problem. She actually said well yes but this was ordered much earlier this morning and not picked up. I told her that I actually placed the order from the stall I was in their parking lot Nothing else was else said by her. They did remake the order. It really seemed like there was nothing in place to make sure the order was actually delivered. It was also offensive that they blamed me for not picking up the order even though it was placed from the stall in their own parking lot.. Also the slot where the call box wasn't working and no out of order note on it made the whole experience from start to finish pretty unpleasant.
Quick, clean and friendly. The food is always hot an fresh. Never crowded so finding a spot isnt difficult but just enough people to let you know it's worth it.
Tots taste like last weeks grease, had to wait for coffee because "the Manager" forgot to make when he came in...per the young lady working the drive thru window. Sandwich was decent, even with most of the cheese melted to the paper.
Curbside service was slow, I pushed the red button and sat for 10 minutes before moving to the drive thru. There were only 4 other vehicles in the stalls, it seems they are pushing drive thru and leaving their old ways.
Ordered 2 large diet coke had to wait 10 min todo that. Waited another 12-15 no delivery. They were not busy it was 11,:00 am . We drove off without our drinks. Not happy probably wilk not use agsin .i have been a Sonic customer for years but now think not.
Most of the time when my brother and I go here we receive great customer service. This time the lady that took our order stopped talking to my Brother she kept asking if he wanted cheese on his burger. He kept telling her no, he finally got a bit and told her no cheese. She stopped taking to him and he got cheese on his burger.
We ordered the numbers 3 & 7 The number 7 was right. The number 3 wasn't even close to being right. We asked for 3 things to be removed from the burger, and they were not removed. There was supposed to be bacon on the burger, and there was not any bacon on the burger
They got our order wrong and my dad had to eat something he didn't like. I think the person taking our order was only 1/2 listening, but my food tasted good and so did my kids'.

Sonic used to serve good filling burgers, that is not the case anymore ... I ordered the #2 (a double) and the burger was way smaller than usual, Oh but the price is higher.... Not recommended, Go to Whataburger instead
one thing leads to another I've been ordering a supersonic jalapeno cheeseburger since the 80s I didn't get that I'm sitting on the couch and the Route 44 cup which is extremely crappy made splits and brakes on me while I'm covered in everything else with a sticky vanilla Dr Pepper soaking into my wife's pillow the puppy dog comes up and steals my hamburger eats part of it and that's not the worst of it I'm in Azle right now where it was a 15-minute wait to get my order and now I'm sitting here she says it's going to be 20 minutes I bet it's longer like 30 all this because you have a crappy Route 44 styrofoam cups that are extremely weak no I'm not happy I'm still hungry waiting for my food after driving from Boyd to my home and then to our Sonic
The water makes all the drinks pretty bad. Not sonics fault, but it's worth mentioning for this location. I often order drinks in the app, and they take a really long time to bring out. Considering it's a simple diet coke with no extras.
Pre made burgers and tots.I ordered a cherry lime aid and was told they only had a few soda varieties no cherry limeaid Service was great if only there product was better.
Our food had been recooked. We ordered corndogs and as soon as I bit into the rubbery corndogs I could tell that it had been cooked and sat under lamp and recooked in fryer. We didn't eat the rest. Was really rubbery and gross
The food was luke warm and the hotdogs were on the rubbery side as if they were nuked. The drinks were delicious. We have just about stopped going here to get food and only get drinks because they get those right and they are always the right temperature. Haha. Wouldnt recommend
Burger was typical of Sonic but the tots were so salty they were inedible. This particular Sonic is always hit or miss very inconsistent. We only go out of convenience. It is not our first choice.
Every single time I come, there is always some kind of mess up. This time, they gave my food away to some jeep that pulled up to a screen that says it doesn't work. Half of their screens don't even work. So pretty much people can just come and steal your food while you sit there for 30 minutes waiting for it.
We live a bit out of town, so often by the time we realise the order is wrong, it's not worth going back to town for. 2 days ago, they left a burger out of our order. Tonight, I ordered a reeces blast and ended up with a butterfinger blast. Reeses and butterfinger look very similar when crushed and seen in dim light.
First and last time we’ll go there. Took a while only for them to tell us they where out of DP. Then when they deliver the food the magically had DP, but had severely messed up the limeades. Had no solution as how to refund money spent on Apply Pay. Employees obviously need more training.
I don't know what's happened to this sonic I'd much rather go to sonic in Bridgeport than eat here any more. I ordered my food waited over 10 min the screen said food delivered but it hasn't i pushed the button again the voice box was really really hard to hear out of on #3 and triedto tell them i hasn't got my food yet then another 8 min go by before my food got there and my burger was cold and my tots were cold and had salt on them when i clearly asked for no salt. The tots even looked like they had been recooked. This sonic used to be good
Last 6 times my order is either wrong or over cooked..it's the only fast food in this town..but I give up won't go back. You get your food after waiting and if it's wrong, then the fix it takes twice as long.
My chicken tender tasted lake burned oil. If you go just get the meat burgers anything going in that oil will taste nasty.
Worst Sonic in the state and that is saying a lot it's a big state with lots of sonics.. if you're wanting to go to Sonic in your in Boyd you can save time by driving past the boys Sonic and driving 15 miles do any of the other four or five sonics in that 15 Mile area. The time spent repeating your order six or seven times it's still not getting what you ordered will take longer than the 15 mi round trip
After waiting 28 minutes at the drive thru window, I motioned to the worker inside to get his attention. I asked for my money back so I could go somewhere else. The manager came over and refunded our money and then gave us our food anyway. The food was cold and tasted terrible. We will never visit this location again. The manager was very courteous and accommodating, however, she did say our food was fresh. But it was cold when we got it.
We got 2 chocolate shakes through the drive-thru and we had around 5 minutes before he took order. We go to window he was unhappy didn't say hello just said the price also our shakes were sloppy with chocolate on the outside of the cup with whipcream as well. We had to ask for napkins he gave us 3 and rudely at that. Last visit for us.
Something is wrong with the drinks here. They are nasty. I ordered a diet dr pepper and it tastes like they used toilet water to mix with the syrup. Fountain drinks at other establishments in Boyd taste fine.
Tried to order a drink combo right off the menu, a cherry vanilla coke with lime. Had to repeat myself about 10 times then the girl taking my order handed me off to someone else to take my order and her tone was super rude. Maybe if you're having trouble understanding an order you could just walk out to my open window. I was parked right in front of the door. Could have saved both of us time and had a way better customer service experience.
Drive thru. The Sonic blasts are not mixed well if at all. I got two cups of ice cream with cookies only on top. It's not worth almost $7.00 to begin with. The very least they can do is mix the cookies into the ice cream. Service is SLOW, but the staff if friendly.
Edit 8-23-22 the last couple of times we have gone here it has been bad. We use to love this place why we had given 5 stars. We have been going to this location since about 2013-2014 and for the past 6 + months it has gotten bad. We ordered 3 burgers tonight they were all cold. Was missing bacon on one and one had mustard that wasn't supposed to. The large order of cheese fries we got was in the long large box, but only about a size small amount of fries. See attached picture, yes the kids did grab a couple fries right before I could get pic, but you can see it hardly had any in it. The chili cheese tots we got were good and the breakfast burrito was as well. I left a tip and not sure why I did, I always leave one because I know it's usually younger kids working and like to help then out, but if they can't get simple orders right then I don't feel I should tip them. I wish it was like Starbucks where you could add or takeaway the tip after you get your order to see if it was right or not. Not anymore old review - Hot fresh and fast. Friendly staff as well.
Drove up to drive-through (no line) and was promptly informed it would be 20-25 minutes before my order could be taken due to “staff shortages.” I laughed and told my kids the employee was joking. He wasn’t. After sitting for a few minutes, we drove off. Flabbergasted is an understatement.
This place shows they close at 12AM on Friday. We waited patiently for 10 minutes around 11pm to be served. It took them forever to even acknowledge that we had asked for service and then proceeded to tell us they were closed. They need either update their hours, or not do this type of bad business.

Thought I'd give them another chance since it's been over a year. Went to the Boyd Sonic this morning to get a breakfast combo the sign said that it was $5.29 before tax they charged me f$5.89. Check your charges before you pay. Won't be back.
No gravy anymore at any sonic POS! Over cooked the pickle fries decatur sonic is 1000 times better than this one and way better employees! Boyd sonic get your stuff together because you are way newer but gah you just suck.
The manager runs people off because she is not a very good manager. Her name is Stacy. She takes off all the time when she supposed to be managing she is useless.
As much as I hate to give this little place a bad review, I feel I have no choice. The service has gone down hill steadily the last few months. I have even called corporate on them and the manager never called me to check. I highly recommend steering away from here until they either get a new manager or they get their minds straight and hire more competent people who really want to work and please the public.
This might be one of the worst Sonic’s I’ve ever visited to the point we don’t go there anymore. Order is most likely wrong so check before you leave, never have condiments when asked for, and it takes forever usually. And they don’t seem to care because the issues have been made clear and apparent to management.

They never take my order at the stall when I go I have to go to the drive thru. This last time I went they ignored me at the stall so I went to the drive thru and still wasn't acknowledged I drive up to the window and saw two boys they saw us and turned around awa from my vehicle. There was no other customers there at this time. the manager was even standing there too and didn't acknowledged us. Every other sonic around is better than this one. This one does not stay open until 10 like it says.
Gave us the wrong combo on one of the 2 we ordered. Messed up the 3rd burger. No cheese on onion rings even though I paid the extra for it. But hey at least they had onion rings usually on a Friday night at 8pm they're out of them! The new big scoop sundae was good.
With last week, ordered ice cream. Both times was yellowish in color and gritty. Not creamy white. Second time returned and drove off. Nasty taste! Was always good before.
Frist of i am a type 2 diabetic i guess no one there knows what unsweet tea is 4 out of the last 6 times i have been there they have give me sweet they dont know the difference beyween a dry burger and one with everything on it you half to ask for your change back becaise they take it for granted that they can keep it my bill was 14.47 give him 20.47 he give me a dollar back and walked off the next time i went that was today my bill was 18.06 i give him 20.06 he handed me my food and started to walk off i as for my change he looked at me and said you wanted your chang back got home had sweet not unsweet no mustard like i ask for the floor from what i could seehad not been cleaned in a while there was spills paper straws every where of this is what and how they train there people we may need a Burger King here
(Edit: Boyd, Texas: 1 year later, new crew, same raw chicken. The owner is DEFINITELY at fault. That's never going to change. Stay away.) From raw chicken sandwiches, to stale tenders, to fries that are both soggy AND burnt, to toast that isn't, this Sonic is tirelessly working to find innovative new ways to ruin food. Usually decent, but you roll the dice every time. This place has a management and training problem, it's been like this a LONG time.
Well, today was a typical Sonic experience as of late. I order ahead online from the app and check in upon my arrival. 18 minutes later, I get out of my vehicle and go to the door and ask for my order (apparently 2 Route 44 unsweet teas was difficult today). After asking for my drinks and finally getting served, I went home. When I got home, I had 1 unsweet tea and one Coke. 🤷♂️🤦♂️

If I could put a zero stars, I would. It took them over 40 minutes just to give me my burger after saying they were on the way. And then they got my order wrong, not once but twice. I went there one time before this and the same thing happened. Literally the worst sonic in history!
Quinlin at the window handed us our drink with the lid off and it went all inside our car...then was rude when we asked her to clean the drink. She is very rude and should be fired
This review& rating is for the Boyd location only! Otherwise I'm addicted to Sonic. I pulled in the Drive-Thru at Boyd Rd location, and was asked to wait a minute before I ordered, no problem there because I was on a phone call. Once I ended my call I say hello to the speaker box, the young man comes back with, 5 more minutes. Well I didn't have 5 more minutes, So I drive around past the window they're just hanging out of it having a conversation with the vehicle that was up there. Rudest behavior I've they were experienced at a Sonic, and I frequent Sonic's quite often.
Hands down the worst sonic EVER! I’m not sure what the point of the app is at this point. I watched the carhop try and give my food away to two different cars! My good was barely warm and I still had to call inside and ask where my food was! I don’t understand how you can totally screw up something as easy as sonic.
Waited in the drive through four 5 min and they never answered so I pulled up to a stall and after 10 min of waiting I left. Sad thing is this was the 3rd tine and will be the last. Boyd sonic is the worst one I have ever been to and would not recommend it to anyone!
Every time I come here they mess up my order or can't be bothered to make it decent. The sonic blasts they rarely put any of the flavor in. They regularly don't get an order right or forget to give me part of my order. They are also very slow and rarely can keep their customers straight. If you come here double check your order before you leave. Open your burgers and everything else at the window so they can hopefully correct the order. Absolutely ridiculous.
Sat for almost 5 minutes waiting for the button to be answered. Waited almost 20 minutes for the food. Gave the carhop a gift card with $1.25 and $100 bill, and asked for a BBQ sauce. It took her over 5 minutes to bring my change back, and then hands me the gift card saying she couldn't use it, because they can't "split orders". When I asked how I was supposed to use the $1.25 on it if I can't combine it with any other payment, and she rudely said, "I don't know". I got the manager to come out, who made some excuse for why she gave that answer, then took several more minutes to get the change for that... and I still never got the BBQ sauce I asked the carhop for. After finally getting back home to eat, the food was cold. I'll never be visiting this location again.
Visited this location just now and ordered a coney meal and the tots - see photo below, how many tots were in the basket. The young man who took our order was rude and trying to rush me through the ordering process. I couldn't drink the cherry lime aid I threw it down the drain it was watered down NO carbonation. Sonic you need to do better. Boyd Texas location.
I've been here twice. Both times I couldn't order from the drive up. Last time I ever go back. I got ignored in the drive up, got ignored in the drive through. One employee walked by and said if they haven't helped you just pull up and they will see you. Well they did see me, they just sat there and ignored me. After looking around inside I decided it was best to just go somewhere else. There was food all over the floors. Literally piles of ice cream. Idk how they were working around it.
They had to correct our order three times and we still didn’t get it right. They eventually refunded our order. Horrible service. I am honestly astonished.
I ordered through Uber eats and since I can’t write a review on there here you go.. how they sent my food out was completely unprofessional!. Nothing was covered. Anything could have happened to my food, got into my Ice cream. The picture below is how I received my order. never ordering from them again. SERVICE HAS ZERO STARS!
We waited over 30 minutes for food. Then fries were cold, sandwiches cold and there were no fountain drinks available. Plus the cost was outrageous!! Makes me realize once again to never visit Sonic.
Update….. I just want a BIG RED.. Nope.. not even the second time, after telling them the first one had no ice. The second one tasted like it was diet or something…. AVOID this store unless you’re the mystery box kind of person. They are on my way home from work and I have regretted stopping at this location almost every time. Dry burgers, they don’t understand meat and cheese only. They forgot to mix my blast. My diet cherry limeade had a foreign object in it. Don’t know what it was, but choked on in. I don’t like to complain, just warning others.
Still sitting here waiting for just 2 drinks after almost 20 minutes of waiting. First they gave them to the lady next to us. I asked where my drinks were. They lied and said they lost the receipt but making them for us. Still sitting here waiting. I always have problems here. Unfortunately this is the only place I know of in the area to get decent tea from.
If I use the app or order at a stall, it never fails that a simple order is made incorrectly even though it is clearly written on the receipt. The employees don't seem to care about customer satisfaction. Be prepared to check your orders before leaving.
Went today around 7:30pm. Went for 3 things and decided to go through the drive thru than sit at one of the kiosks for forever. It took minutes to be acknowledged at the drive thru even though the place was dead. The girl who took my order was impatient and acted as if I was ruining her night by being there. I pulled up and not 1 employee was wearing a mask while preparing food. Unsanitary and uncaring about their customers health, even though Sonic advertises they wear masks and that we should too at kiosks for they could receive a fine. I didnt receive a receipt and the overall experience has really put a sour taste in my mouth.
Worst sonic ever. Chili cheese Fries were like a rubber boot Asked to make a fresh order and replace the first ones and obviously same batch, they didn’t even use a new container . Double cheeseburger wasn’t any better! So much ketchup and mayonnaise on it. It was a total mess to try to pick up and hold.
people need to listen to the order, when an order is specifically read back and its still wrong when it comes out is ridiculous. especially when the entire lot of theirs is dead, they'll still get it wrong. dont recommend unless you feel like fighting with people
The smash burger was good a year ago know they are serving MacDonald double cheeseburger for 6$ small and large tots only 9 tots in box this is ridiculous I'm done with sonic shrink food I'm only going to eat giant burger from know on
I ordered the garlic bacon burger and got NO bacon. Plus, after checking in on the mobile app I waited ten minutes before having to get out of my car and ask where my food is, apparently someone checked me in but never came out to deliver it. But it’s pretty pathetic that I did not get bacon on a garlic BACON burger.
Ordered online and checked in when I got to location.. waited 30 minutes for Holly to bring our order only for it to never show. We pressed the red button to see what was going on the the lady seemed like she had zero idea about the order even had to check with us 4 times to confirm. We waited 20 minutes just for the order to be wrong how do you mix up M&M’s with the word Oreo??. We wasted little over an hour for 2 drinks and 2 shakes. No way they have all these 5 stars when they can’t even read a simple order. They need to get an actual manager at this store to hold some accountability
The food was okay, not the best. I get it, they were rushed. However, the manager Stacy is so snarky and downright rude!!! She got upset with me because I asked for additional sauce packets!! Plus, I saw her yelling at the carhops who seemed to be doing a fine job!! Usually I see Tony, who's absolutely amazing btw!! But this manager is so just rude and I will be sure to request anyone but her!!! Shameful, just horrid. (Don't mind my name, this is my son's phone.)
Ordered A double bacon cheeseburger but got a single instead.(Guess the cook can't count to 2) Best part was the onion rings well half frozen and gooey yummy. What a waste of $30.00 for my family's meal. Really should have went to WENDY'S. Will NEVER EVER eat there again....I do believe it is the WORST place to eat in Boyd. I would advise you to take the 30 minute trip to Decatur........04/19/2024
