I love chai latte and carrot cake here. They were so good. Staffs were nice and a lot of cupcake for optional. I will comeback again to try another cupcake for sure.
I’m 🍃right now and the Banana pudding from here it’s absolutely delicious and amazing. The most homemade flavor I’ve ever had. So fluffy, abundant and filling. I will give it 100/10 ⭐️ best dessert ever
Attention cake lovers!! One of the best bakeries in the City! Everything is good and delicious! You will wanna buy everything! Location: It is located in Vanderbilt Avenue. The interior is super nice, has this girly bakery vibe! Nice display of all the cakes, make you want to buy everything. Service: buy and go! The employees are nice and takes time for you to order. Just order, pay and go home. Food: I love everything here to be honest! From cakes, pies and cupcakes! BANANA NUTELLA CAKE: this is my favorite, omg banana and nutella in one!! What can you ask for? It is super moist and you will eat the whole thing! BLACK and WHITE CAKE: this is just exactly like the cookie, so good and moist! STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE: taste amazing strawberry, moist and not that sweet. SOUTHERN RED VELVET: one of my fave! The moist red velvet and not that sweet cream cheese frosting is just perfect! CONFETTI CAKE: if you eat this it feels like your birthday! Lol so good! DOUBLE CHOCOLATE: typical chocolate cake but very good. TIRAMISU: so good, there is a kick of coffee! BLUE VELVET CAKE: delicious blue velvet with fresh blueberry inside! Price rating: 6/10, the price matches all the deliciousness! Been here multiple times and definitely coming back for more! Get my recommendation and you definitely will come back! But get the banana Nutella! Lol
I was dying to try the Brooklyn Blackout and Strawberry Shortcake, I was finally able to make it in and I was not disappointed. They definitely live up to hype. They are a bit pricey but so worth it!! The lady behind the counter also recommended I try the dreaming princess and Mott street slice, I’ll definitely be back for those.
Loved this bakeshop! The cheesecake and the Brooklyn blackout cake were incredible. Very friendly staff and cozy atmosphere. I recommend grabbing some baked goods and walking over to prospect park to enjoy!
The cheesecake is divine and same for banana pudding. Dear god this is absolutely heavenly. Def get both
I was sad when a friend moved away to Brooklyn, but happy that she moved near this cute, delicious cake shop. The cake is always moist, the frosting thick and creamy, the slices delightfully enormous. I don't love the flavor of the Brooklyn Blackout cake, but that's more about my taste in chocolate than their execution. Everything else I've had there has been yum yum yum. Service is friendly and they're open late. What else could you want? Maybe additional locations near me :-)
Every time I find myself in Prospect Heights, I stop in to pick up slices of their amazing layer cakes. My favorite is the classic Carrot Cake, but the German Chocolate and Coconut Cloud are very good as well.
I love this bakery. I’ve been coming here for years, and every year I choose a different flavor to add to my repertoire, & it never disappoints. The staff is always so kind and patient with me. I’ve introduced this bakery to all of my family and friends, and it’s become a favorite for many of us.
Omg I love this so much my server Nya she was absolutely amazing. Help me out to get some birthday cakes for my grandma for her birthday today. I really do appreciate her so much. She was so sweet and understanding. Great staff. I love that. She made me feel so welcome. I just wanna hug her.
The “Dreaming Princess” is legitimately the favorite desert / slice of cake I’ve ever eaten. I get sad when I sometimes go and it’s not there (even though everything else is delicious). Please never discontinue Dreaming Princess Cake! Sincerely, Dreaming Princess Lover
Bought a freshly baked apple pie for Thanksgiving dinner and now my family wants the same (but make it 2!) for Christmas! Loved finding this gem of a bakery! They were very friendly and helpful as well.
We’re blessed with having a place like Bon Tree across the street. Not only bc it’s hard to find cafes open till late in this city, but also bc it’s absolutely delicious Yemeni coffee. Breakfast is yummy too. And the workers great! Thanks Bon Tree!!
I had to change my review. Consistently the morning staff don’t really know what they are serving. Asking for the Palestinian pie (which is what it’s labeled and where it comes from) I’m corrected by the girl and then I order a Yemenia (which is my go to it’s likt Turkish coffee but with cardamom) they clearly were not trained to make Turkish or Arabic coffee. Overall I love this place but I think the morning staff are just serving coffee like it’s a straight black coffee not the Yemenia. You’re definitely paying for a superior coffee just delivery is only there in afternoons and evenings from my experience
Even on a busy holiday, service was impressively quick and efficient. The Bon Smoothie was a standout, refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. It had that “healthy but still delicious” feel, which can be hard to find. Despite the crowd, the atmosphere stayed calm and welcoming. Securing a table was easy, and the layout offered plenty of space to work comfortably. Would’ve had no problem setting up an extended screen if needed. Air conditioning was strong (huge plus on a hot day), and the bathroom was clean with no issues. A great find overall, I will definitely return when in the neighborhood again.
My group and I had the Yemeni borek, spinach and feta croissant, tomato and olive croissant, and one of their breakfast specials with a sweet bun, eggs, and halloumi to eat. All of them were fantastic - very good, flaky pastry, and full of flavour. To drink we got a pot of Yemeni coffee and a Yemeni Chai. They were rich, warm, and delicious. We will be coming back for sure and would highly recommend!
This coffee shop is exactly what Prospect Heights needed. It's big, bustling, and there's always ample seating among the laptop workers and friend groups chit chatting. I wouldn't call the ambiance cozy per se, but it's just comfortable enough to enjoy a cup of coffee and move on with your day. We recently discovered the Yemeni coffee service which is absolutely delicious. We ordered the one that comes with evaporated milk and it was truly one of the tastiest coffees I've ever had. Treat yourself to a pot of it with a friend and you won't be disappointed. I haven't tried the pastries but I've overheard them saying how they bake them in-house every morning, so that's a good sign!
Plenty of seating in this café, humorous and friendly team, and great food! Lots of space to do work with laptops, and they have free wifi. It was pretty busy on Saturday afternoon but we managed to find a table. The chai was quite creamy, and my friend mentioned that it overpowered the flavours of the tea which I agreed with! I liked the eggs benedict but the real star here is their shakshouka - one of the bests I’ve ever had.
I stopped by Tuesday morning at Bon Tree Coffee, and I have to say they have the best lattes in Brooklyn! I ordered a vanilla chai latte with oat milk and a hot vanilla latte, along with an egg and cheese croissant with avocado and chipotle sauce. Every sip and bite was absolute heaven! The flavors were rich, the croissant was perfectly flaky, and the chipotle sauce added just the right kick. But what truly made the experience unforgettable was the amazing barista team! They were so friendly, kind, and warm, making me feel truly welcome. Their energy and passion for what they do really show, and it makes a difference. If you’re looking for high-quality coffee, delicious food, and a great atmosphere, Bon Tree Coffee is the place to be. Hands down, a 5-star experience! I’ll definitely be coming back!
Came here to meet a friend and do some studying and it was WONDERFUL! Prices are kind of aligned with the overall state of the city/fiscal environment we’re in these days, so people leaving shitty 1 stars about that surely should use their time more wisely. Onwards! This shop has such a great atmosphere. All staff was friendly!! Fellow patrons interacted with were also friendly! Manners go far and I think a lot of New Yorkers forget that. Food was delicious and well portioned. Flat white: ALSO delicious. Was too hungry to think of photo taking. Oops. Also, yes, Yemeni coffee. Not that I’d know what it tastes like in a blind taste test. All I know is my drink was DELICIOUS. Yes, there were a lot of patrons studying/working, but still ample enough space for non laptoppers. People find the weirdest things to whine and moan about, it’s wild. Banging Arabic playlist (Sherine, Amr Diab, AND Saint Levant in the span of an hour?? be still my beating heart and shaking shoulders!). It’s not blasting so you can still converse at a humanly decibel with your friends or neighbors. It also wasn’t playing non stop so there WERE blocks of just silence and no music (to which, I personally, wanted the music back on bc it was so good). People were respectful of space and noise. Do I HAVE to find something to nitpick? I’d say add some wall hooks? I felt so bad having my huge puffer coat on the space of the bench seats next to me but there was really no place else to put it. Besides that, I can’t wait to go back and I hope this place expands to Queens. Particularly near enough to me but not in my neighborhood bc surely it will not be used as intended!! Can’t wait to come back here.
One of my favorite spots in the neighborhood! There's definitely plenty of places to go around here but Bon Tree stands out to me as a unique addition to the neighborhood. I always get their Yemeni coffee, which is so flavorful. I can imagine why someone might be thrown off by it as first, since it has some spices in it (i think there's a strong cardamom flavor?). But it really hits on a slow Sunday morning and all you want to do is enjoy the fresh air and sip on some coffee. Another standout to me is the Honeycomb pastry. It's so delicious with the honey drizzle. It is a bit pricey but well worth it when I'm in the mood for a sweet & savory combo. Their other breakfast options seem solid as well. I recently had the Bontree Egg Bun, which is a brioche bun topped with eggs and haloumi cheese + a honey drizzle. I really enjoyed it, super simple but memorable. One caveat is that the price can be a little expensive for me to go consistently, I think of my visits here as a nice treat versus a go-to staple. But to be fair, many spots around this neighborhood borderline the same cost per item, so maybe it's just the neighborhood! Overall, would recommend trying! They always are happy to give free samples so it seems! (Probably not forever, so try it while you can)
Great to see this addition in our neighborhood. I was excited to try their coffee which was fantastic! Food and atmosphere is great. We ordered a few things off the menu but couldn’t get a pic because we were too hungry! The egg Benedict was AMAZING! The salad dressing on that dish should be sold in a bottle! The shakshuka was also great! I was really skeptical about the zataar waffles, but surprisingly was really really really GOOD!! Probably my favorite thing I had there. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming! I highly recommend you check out this place if you’re in the area! Looking forward to fall pastries!
On my two week visit to NY. I decided to randomly pick a new cafe every morning. I honestly spotted it one night in my Uber heading home from dinner. Made a mental note and I’m glad I did. The team were super friendly and welcoming. And the food? My goodness was it awesome. Sadly I came across it two days before we leave. But I will be back on my next visit. Thank so much for service BonTree!!
New cafe in the Neighborhood! Bontree offer all of your Caffeine needs and more. The new space gives a relaxing oasis while in Brooklyn. Stay for the coffee or study, or both. With their tranquil nautical blue walls, contemporary wooden espresso furniture and opened tufted faux leather booth, comfortable seating is not an issue here. I will also mention that their coffee-ware was very well selected and complements the space. Today I had a Matcha Latter, not ceremonial, but the barista definitely made with love cause I guzzled it down. Good body, froth, and flavor. Barista, you’re a master of your craft. I also had a Strawberry Cheesecake, kudos to the in house baker! (all pastries and sweets are made in house), great flavor to texture to crust ratio. Both were consumed with absolute pleasure. For the coffee aficionados, your cup of joe will be brewed by the La Marzocco Strada machine, flavorful and bold. Cheers!
3.5/5 not really 4 The Brooklyn blackout cake is a bit overhyped, it was kind of dry. However the strawberry cake was pretty good. Their other options are better. Slices were huge and its a cute place with plenty of seating. Plus friendly service.
I came here 2 times after reading the reviews. I tried different cakes. I love a couple of them, such as red velvet cupcakes, original cheesecake, and key lime pie. Others are super sweet. The icing is extremely over sweet, and they will definitely give you diabetes. Like young people. The price is not cheap here but the cake tastes fresh so i don't mind about the price too much. Staff are friendly doing their job. I will come back after the overall experience.
Ranges from okay to great, and the staff is always sweet, but opening this after paying $10 & looking forward to trying this cake was upsetting. 95% of the frosting is on the paper. The cashier/server was pleasant, but I don’t understand why she thought this was acceptable.
The bakery is very unique and cool with its unique flavors however I got multiple items from there and many of the cupcakes and cake slices were fairly dry in terms of the cake itself but the frosting was decent. The staff was nice and got our order done quick. The banana pudding cup was very good but the chocolate pudding was just okay in comparison
I like the hours (open late) and the service was personable. The place is unpretentious and spacious. The basic drip coffee (yemenia) was fine though watery. The cardamom, which i was expecting to be a distinctive feature justifying the cost of this fairly small 5 dollar drip, was subtle bordering on absent. Well then.. We ordered the chai latte.. foul. The chai flavor was indiscernible. Its a 6.50 drink - it should be at the very least suitable for consumption. As a weekend hideout for kids doing their homework and remote work warriors, i support this place, if you can get away with not ordering anything.
I placed and order on Door Dash for 2 items. The employee put my 2 items in one box. I did not want the 2 items in one box. I wanted separate boxes. Then they give the delivery man my order, no utensils, no napkins, and no bag. Unprofessional! When i go in person to Little Cupcake, I want my regular slice cake.
I have been coming here for years and for the past few months, the shop has gone down hill. The size of the cupcakes and cake slices have gone down while prices have increased by 40%. Customer service is also unfriendly and generally bothered by customers placing orders. The businesses are really taking hits with rising costs and you can see that the owners are cutting costs via quality of goods and wages for their employees. And they don't care and are unbothered by customer feedback, clearly. Sigh. (Objects are smaller than they appear)
I'm here to echo some of the other recent reviews from the past year or so. I used to LOVE this place, and always got my birthday cake here, not to mention cake and coffee throughout the year. Lately the service has gone way down, in terms of staff attitude. Additionally, the cake quality and quantity have decreased, while prices have increased. The last few times I got cake, it was a noticeably smaller slice, and sometimes not very fresh. Really really sad. Doesn't seem like the managers read these either.
Every positive bit of feedback about this place has nothing to do with the baked goods. Kudos for having vegan options, but wow, we’ve gotta step it up on flavor because EEEYUCK. 3 cupcakes, 1 chocolate chip cookie and a peanut butter bar totaling $25. All of it tasted like stale air, it was evident that the vegan goods are days old and hard. The one positive is it reminded me just how spoiled I am as a vegan in Brooklyn. Absolutely disgusting, and I mean everything. Might as well take them off the menu and start from scratch. I see that you all are hiring, I considered applying to give this feedback more directly because the vegan baked goods are in crisis. Vegans, take your business to Clementine’s
I walked into Bon Tree Cafe on Monday (11/24) at 7:50am, and what I witnessed was absolutely unacceptable. As my latte was being made, the female employee sneezed directly over my milk. No attempt to turn away or cover it. I was completely disgusted and immediately asked for a refund. Instead of showing any concern, both she and the male employee were rude, dismissive, and condescending about issuing the refund. As a long-time customer, I was shocked, not only by the blatant lack of hygiene, but also by the attitude I received afterward. The male employee processed the refund with no apology, no remorse, nothing. This experience was mortifying, unsanitary, and unprofessional. I will certainly not be returning.
