Had to check out this cozy looking coffee shop in Parkslope. I was impressed by the large selection of coffee, accessories, and unique flavored beans. I ordered an Americano, which I enjoyed! I was greeted by a very friendly owner and was served by a friendly barista. EDM music play was definitely a vibe. 🎹 Great spot for to get beans to bring home, or just grab a quick drink.
This place is an exceptional place to stop for your custom coffee and tea needs and desires. Fresh brewed coffee and teas, whole beans, loose teas, sweets, and accessories all available for sale. I looked all over Manhattan and for a loose leaf tea strainer for tea cups and finally ended up finding it here! Service was friendly and helpful when I asked about tea strainers. I ordered a chocolate cherry latte and tried a couple of macaroons and both were delicious. #LetsGuide
quaint little coffee shop that sold both loose coffee beans and loose tea. I got the spice chai which was deep and creamy and sweet and highly recommended. it definitely has its own personality. such a tiny shop but feels like a real authentic nook in our neighborhood.
Really great cup of coffee at a very tiny shop with nice people. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Cute small coffee shop for those on the go, they also roast and sell their own whole beans for those of us who really love their own craft coffee at home! (HINT: ditch the Folgers and step up your game!) Staff is friendly and will hold a conversation with you, this is truly a location to support with your dollar. Keep your money local and support local franchises, all the while enjoying a wonderful brew. Trust me, we're friends - and would I lie to you?
My neighborhood spot to get some quality roasted coffee beans. I have passed by this place for years and finally stopped in last year. I now come here regularly when my beans are low. The people at the store are very helpful. There's a good selection of beans without going overboard. The question is how many variety of beans and roasts should a coffee store have? I don't know the answer but if they carry the beans that I like then I'll go back! I like my coffee but haven't had much time to do chemex at home these days. I have been getting the Costa Rican, Kenyan, and Brazilian beans when I want single origin. Java Joes's blends are great too.
Hard to find good chocolate in New York - and these guys have a great stock of British cadburys, Roses, digestives, and other items like Barrys Tea and Heinz Baked Beans. Friendly little place with great coffee, too. Always prefer to support these places as they add to the community.
Walking into this shop you immediately smell the most heavenly coffee beans. It’s a bit of a caffeine oasis. The shelves are stocked with interesting coffee and tea flavors, and every tool you’d need to make the perfect cup. My favorite thing about Java Joe’s though is the attention given to the quality of their drinks. When I order an iced latte, they actually froth the cold milk. You can very much taste the difference here compared to other places!
Excellent coffee to me critical. It is the first thing that starts my day, every day, since I was 7 so it is important it is the best experience possible. Java Joe’s coffee is absolutely the best. All of there coffee beans are immensely flavorful, with no after taste, no bitterness, no oil. Once you enjoy Java Joe’s coffee the bar will be set extremely high to enjoy a cup , beans, from anywhere else. Independently owned, staff could not be more helpful. Moved out of the area and have it shipped to me as I just couldn’t find anything that came close
Java Joe is a treasure. Their Black Magic beans make an excellent espresso and their Earl Grey loose tea is super flavorful. I've enjoyed various types of iced teas to go. The staff here are friendly and have great suggestions for new things to try. Highly recommended!
They have a good selection of coffees in a variety of roasts, including two espressos. They also have lots of loose leaf tea, both pre-packaged and sold in bulk, both actual tea and lots of herbal options. They fit a lot of coffee and tea and equipment into a very small space. They make a good coffee to drink, too, and made me a flat white even though it's not on their menu. As you'd expect, the place smells amazing and it's worth stopping in just for that. The staff are friendly and helpful. The prices seem competitive for freshly roasted coffee, and it's a nice local business that's worth supporting. They also have a rack of U.K. sweets and snacks, like the U.K. line of Cadbury chocolates.
A fantastic local coffee shop with a great selection of beans. Shop local!
This is an absolute gem! Family run with great warmth, humor and gentle generosity. A superb selection of fine blended teas, coffee beans, ‘home made’ pastries, and a wide selection of British imported cookies, chocolate and candies, and so much more. Well worth the trip to Park Slope!

Kind and friendly staff. They are knowledgable on their coffees and seem to get fresh batches often. It smelled like freshly roasted beans as soon as you walk in. They also offer a 'tab' system where you pay upfront so you can come in on your busy mornings en route to work and just grab your joe and go. Great concept!

Small, aromatic store with wide selection of beans, coffee accessories, and imported candies. I love popping in for winegum treats from Europe. I can see how the staff has put off some of the other more negative reviewers. The gentleman I've been served by multiple times has an extremely chilled-out (bordering on disinterested) manner.
There are so many options for tea and coffee. It smells absolutely delightful inside. The person working the day I went wasn't very helpful and was on their phone the majority of the time, so I had to guide myself around the shop. Nevertheless, I found what I wanted and was very happy with my purchases.

I went into this shop while meandering in the area and stumble upon this cute little shop. I loved the products, but didn’t love the service. The man working the counter didn’t greet anyone who entered (even when addressed first), had his back turned doing nothing the entire time and and when I tried to ask for help was given attitude and brushed off. I am offended that this is the kind of person who works here. Re the products, the teas I purchased were fair and pleasant, the prices were average for loose leaf tea. However I will not return or recommend this place until they can respect the customers who ultimately make this shop possible. The only reason this review isn’t a 1 star is because I believe this shop can be better if customer service improves.

The coffee is fine, not great, but the guy who was working here is such a bummer I probably won’t be back. This is the first time I’ve ever been inspired to write a negative review. Who hurt you dude? Variety is right across the street—I was hoping to prefer Java because Variety gets enough business. Unfortunately the barista made me uncomfortable as soon as I walked in. Not asking for much, just a tiny bit of friendliness.

Found a dried-up, used band-aid in a bag of their loose leaf white tea ("Rosie's Teas" - says on the bag that it's distributed exclusively by Java Joe's). When I called to let them know, the person on the line said that he's never heard that before, that things can sometimes get in the bags and was very dismissive of the complaint.
I went in for a light roast coffee, was recommended their Organic Mexican, bought a prepacked 1lb bag, got home it was definitely not light would have normally returned it but as it's COVID times assumed all sales are final. Went back today and told another sales clerk what had happened last time after a quick back and forth about differing personal taste profiles I explained to him the actual color and sheen, which he then openly admitted that it was probably incorrectly packed and labeled. So knowing that you (the store) may have done that - sold a mislabeled coffee to a customer, wouldn't you offer the customer the properly labeled 1lb bag of coffee on the house? Especially if the customer is purchasing another bag of coffee from you? Never again! Thanks, but no thanks!
This is the dumbest (for lack of a better word) coffee shop I have ever been to. I should have known something was up when the two separate parties ahead of me left without buying anything. I walked in at 5:05pm. The rude little man behind the counter didn't bother to greet me so I took it upon myself to get his attention by saying hello. With no manners he abruptly responds "if you are looking for coffee, I'm cleaning the machines and I am not making any more." So my response "Wait, the shop is open until 6pm but closes the coffee machines for cleaning before 5pm?" He replied "yes." Duh, you are a coffee shop - I thought the point was to sell brewed coffee...? It was a one man show inside so my guess is that the guy was probably lazy and didn't feel like working until closing so he cleans up early so he can jet. I guess it was ok that they lost 5 potential sales in the 5 minutes while I was there. Maybe they don't need the business. Good for them. I love to visit small business in the area, especially trying the many coffee spots. I certainly won't bother wasting my time or money here though. Not when there are so many better options.
