This is a very good option for pregame drinks and food before catching a show at one of the nearby venues. It's got a rustic, punk bar aesthetic that really captures the right mood before a metal show.
My friend took me to the Anchored Inn while I was in town. The walk there was pleasant and they shared stories if the many meals they had shared at this place. The selection on Sunday afternoon was plenty. Although spicy and delicious, I managed to resist temptation and only had one bloody mary. My meal of biscuits gravy and eggs was what any person nursing a hangover would probably find soothing. Fortunately I was not hungover and was able to fully enjoy the meal, which meant eating half because there was so much! Service was great and the decor was a fun and unique style of kitsch that won't be forgotten soon.
Great divr bar. Fun decorations, good snacks, pool tables, outdoor seats too.
*everytime I've gone lately there's been a new delicious vegan option. I hope they keep em coming! ❤️ Wish they had more vegan options but overall such a fantastic neighborhood bar
Great little dive bar, the decor feels a bit like grandpa's attic if he really like psychedelics and metal. Drinks are drinks, it's a dive bar, if you aren't there for a beer I don't know why you are there haha. The bartenders and other staff are great. But most importantly, their burger and Buffalo chicken sandwich are bomb. I don't know what they are paying that kid jn the kitchen, but it ain't enough.
Very busy after work on weekdays. Might be a little loud for some tastes. Food comes quickly and is properly cooked. Been there a few times. Liked it every time.
If you like punk music you will feel at home at this place. Like any other punk place around the globe, a bar where to feel at home even if you are far away from it. Not expensive for NYC standards and food was pretty good too. Looking forward to come here at night when the bar should be full.
Honestly, it's a great dive like feeling bar. The food is AMAZING! They have specials, and I have NEVER been disappointed. Go try their lunch special beer and burger for $13 bucks.
Yall, don't even look at the menu and order whatever is on the special board. But also, order everything on the menu. Perfect little dive bar to play pool but also have good food with asian influences and not fried junk (though anything fried here is good too!!) Been for brunch and dinner, never disappointed. 😋
Great burger/ beer combo and noisy music! Really good burger, I put it in my top 5 most satisfying burgers (factoring in quality, flavor, and bun). It is also sports a fine gallery of black velvet paintings...I almost want to paint my own. Thank you!
Ordered a frozen pina colada and got a frozen painkiller instead and I’m not complaining, also a great bar to play pool/billiards - the lighting and spacing of the tables were on point. Music selection was eclectic. I heard Punk Rock, Duran Duran, and bachata in a twenty minute span while I watched Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
Visited Brooklyn at the end of March. 3 Dollar Bill was dead and needed to find a place nearby for food and drinks. Walked over to The Anchored Inn and had a great experience. Food, drinks, and music were good. Bartender was very friendly (she was working March 28 around 11pm). Added to my Favorites list if I ever travel to New York again.
I had a great time in here. The bar staff made me feel welcome, fellow drinkers happened to be really nice, there was a telly on which was showing a classic episode of The Simpsons and then MTV classic rock & metal videos (complete with subtitles). The best thing was the music: an incredible array of all things 70s and rocking. If I return to NYC then I will be sure to drop in again.
Have been visiting here for 5/6 years now and never had a bad time. Always a new adventure every time as well. Tried mostly all the food and drinks and interacted with all the staff. As long as you come sober and in good spirits everything is A+
I like the bar, especially the two pool tables. Good staff, three bathrooms. If you wanna play a nice game of pool, come way earlier or way later, otherwise the pool table vultures will come and ruin your fun. I just don't like playing with strangers, so maybe that's my own fault.
Great bar with metal/punk vibes. Not too crowded when I visited around 6-7pm, and the staff was very friendly. If you order food, I recommend the double cheeseburgers, they are the BEST.
Great bar, great prices, good food and I like the crowd here. It usually gets busy, and it’s often the case I would wait 10-15 mins to get served- but it’s a dive bar, and the bartenders often are running back and forth, so expect some wait time if you go during the evening or weekend.
I love this spot for a relaxed place to grab a beer or a breakfast burrito. Space is on the smaller side but with big comfy booths and a spacious bar area. Dark with punk music playing. Awesome space and vibe.
It is a cozy bar with good music and cheap beer. We usually go before the show near by. Place is so hype and usually packed but I like it anyway.
Food here was amazing! Don't hesitate: Get those nachos! We ordered 3 appies and drinks and our bill was under $120. Quality food excellent service and great vibe.
Awesome dive with great vegan and nonvegan bites. Great kitschy decor, quick service and easy location when catching a show at Brooklyn Monarch/Meadows. The jackfruit chopped cheese is unreal and fries are delicious
2 pool tables in the side room (a long with additional seating, great drinks, the food was phenomenal. Got the scallion pancake BLT, pretty great fusion. 9/10. Wish it came with fries though
Dive bar with cheap drinks, two pool tables, solid music, great service and mind bogglingly, amazing food. I'm not saying it's great food for a dive bar. I'd go outta my way to eat here if it were just a restaurant. I know, it doesn't make any sense. Every time I eat here, I try some new special (it's usually Filipino) and I'm more flabbergasted than the last. Seriously, just give it a shot once and you'll be hooked.
Tables outside in the summer, cool environment, cool people. Nice beer, amazing food, relatively inexpensive. What more can I say
Hands down one of my favorite bars in Brooklyn! This place is must visit! Amazing drink selection with amazing prices, and food is great, my personal favorite is their Chopped Cheese!
Loved the atmosphere and my food was great. A fun place for a large group to meet up and mingle. The weather was perfect for sitting at the outdoor tables, which we did. The drinks were also great. But you guys. Those PICKLES! They make their own and it was the best pickle ever. Crispy, spicy and just right. Sounds goofy, I know, but really. Be sure to try the pickles.
Great food and prices. Pleasant cozy atmosphere at the bar. So wonderful they keep the kitchen open late.
I LOVE the food here. The wings are unbelievable and the specials are always so extraordinary. Don’t miss the sisig chopped cheese or the lechon tacos and the drinks are excellent too. A good variety of bottles and drafts and delicious frozens in the summer. 15/10 will be back again and again. Tons of veg/vegan/gluten free options too!
Stopped in on a whim during the BnB Bowl. First night in was great, food was solid, drinks are killer and the vibe and hospitality for how rugged the decor and clientele is exceptional. The Frozen Painkiller is worth the try. We ended up going back like three more times during the week. I couldn't talk up this punk catering dive bar any more than I possibly could. 10/10 will absolutely come back again next year.
Very dive bar vibes. I walked in and there was speed metal playing. PBR and high life and Busch in cans and bottles. Few taps with more micro type stuff. I didn't have the food, but my friend dug it well enough. People in there were super chill. You go there to get drunk and hang out. Very much my kind of place.
Has been a reliable watering hole for years, and actually has good food too. Good draft selection.
Went on a Sunday afternoon. Not super crowded but the one server was floating around a lot. Had the breakfast burrito, fries, and a frozen painkiller that were all delish!!
Great neighborhood spot to swing by and grab some beers. Frozen painkiller is refreshing as well. The highlight is the fries. They’re killer…I always find myself stealing some more off a friends’ plate! The second room has pool tables and big buck hunter too.
So far been there 3 times. Great atmosphere. Great food and cheap drinks. Had the burger and the salad with meat both where really good. They also have a big selection of beers. Cheers.
Stopped by for a drink omw home, and the vibe is dope. They've got pool tables and a cheesy 80s horror movie playing at the bar. They're totally speaking my language. Can't wait to come back and try their food.
The Sisig Chopped Cheese was so delicious that I cannot textually explain more. There are no words. Delicious is an understatement. Holy moly. So yummy.
Burger is incredible, great drink selection, many seating options (booth, bar, high top, patio - you name it, they got it), open early and open late. Rachel is an incredible bartender with impeccable style and sooo speedy. Loves it.
Terrific little place with plenty of dark ambiance and adorable service. Also a great place to post up pre-metal shows at The Brooklyn Monarch!
Great hamburgers Great bar and a very good price lunch deal. If your i the area its a.must
Solid spot to grab a drink before a show. Liked the vibe. Food looking good too.
My partner had her birthday here Feb 22 and they were very accommodating. They reserved some space for us in the back and we had an attentive server assigned to us. Even though it was a Friday and the place got packed, they did a great job. Food and drinks came out quickly. Contrast this to other bars we've been to, where they had the audacity to ask for a surcharge because we had brought in 20 people even though their bar was mostly empty, and they should have been thanking us. When in doubt, Anchored Inn ⚓️ all the way 👌
Amazing bar, great vibes! Staff was wonderful and friendly!
The food is decent. Probably one of my favorite punk bars. The pool tables are decent but if you go on some nights it might be impossible to get a table or it might be a long wait to play.
I've been here couple times. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating. (I usually have alot of gear/props and bags) Really good food. Unique options that you are glad you picked. Everything is seasoned well and differently. Which is always a plus. Drinks and beer selection are vase and won't break the bank.
Hamburger was juicy and tasty at lunchtime, and the music (The Sisters of Mercy, Cocteau Twins, and similar but more recent bands) and atmosphere were great. A Mexican friend said the lechón tacos were on point, so there you go. Will be back next time in the area. Nice staff too.
My review below from ten years ago holds true. Some of the best bar food and service around. Note on my draft beer comment, eh. Whatever. Really great neighborhood bar with top notch bar food and good service. The food here is really really great! Things are made fresh with good ingredients and there are always specials. They have some really good folks in the kitchen! Recommend the tortas and buffalo chicken sandwich. I've never been there for brunch but I heard it's really great. The staff are pros and can handle a busy bar. Never had my order messed up and never have seen anyone write anything down. The only downside is their selection of draft beers is real basic and the bar area is narrow so it can get crowded easily.
the fried tofu burger is delicious and they have great condiment options! also $10-12 frozen cocktails?! we love this place Anchored Inn 4ever
Great local spot in Brooklyn! Anchor’s Inn has a relaxed, welcoming vibe with friendly staff and solid service. The drinks are well made, prices are reasonable, and it’s a perfect place to hang out with friends, watch a game, or just unwind after a long day. The atmosphere feels like a true neighborhood bar where everyone feels comfortable. Definitely worth stopping by if you’re in the area.
Love this spot!! Great vibes! Good drinks! Their karaoke is top notch. Always a good time here for a pregame or the night.
Perfect place to go to before and after a show at the Meadows. Great dive bar experience and the burgers and fries are really good. Would definitely go back.
First time there, definitely coming back. Large non alcoholic beer selection. Great food, loved the fries. And service is the bomb. Javier and Kirk treated us great!
The Anchored Inn delivers exactly what you’d hope for from a neighborhood Brooklyn bar: character, comfort, and just enough quirk to make it memorable. From the moment you step inside, the nautical theme sets the tone—walls decked with maritime touches and even a vintage diving suit dangling from the ceiling give the place a funky, slightly offbeat vibe without feeling forced. The menu is as eclectic as the décor. Sure, you’ll find familiar pub staples like burgers and nachos, but there’s also a welcome twist with Asian-inspired options like a solid Banh Mi. Vegetarians and vegans won’t feel like an afterthought here—the menu offers plenty of plant-based choices, which is refreshing. Prices stay reasonable across the board, making it easy to settle in for more than just one round. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A small outdoor patio offers a casual spot when the weather’s good. Inside, the crowd felt mixed and low-key, giving the space an inclusive, relaxed energy. All in all, The Anchored Inn feels like a spot that knows exactly what it is—a laid-back, slightly quirky place to grab a drink, enjoy better-than-expected food, and soak up the good vibes.
Classic Brooklyn dive bar, only with incredible Filipino fusion food! Sisig chopped cheese, lemongrass chicken, and nachos were all excellent. Would gladly go back just for the food. Small but tasty beer list and some fun fruity / cocktails as well (with great names). Definitely recommend a visit!
Honestly, we didn’t expect the food to be as good as it was — but we were pleasantly surprised! We had the burger and tacos, and both were absolutely delicious. The drinks were also spot-on. The only minor downside was that getting a seat took a bit of time, but everything else was great!
Unexpected gem! I don’t leave reviews, but this place pulled me in with a “burger & beer special” sign—and I’m so glad it did. The vibe is everything I love: gritty, punky, full of character, with killer music and a staff that makes you feel right at home. I wasn’t expecting much from a quick food stop, but the burger? Next level. Perfectly done, full of flavor—and the beer pairing hit just right. This is one of those spots you randomly find and then can’t stop talking about. 10/10, will definitely be back.
Little haven in the middle of nowhere. Great happy hour deal for cheeseburger and any draft only $15. This is the kinda place that lets you know an area is changing. Friendly service and great selection of typical hipster pub grub. I would purchase a home in the area right away. Don’t wait, this is the time to settle down in an area that is waiting to explode.
Went twice. Pool tables in the back were in great shape. PBR and shot for $7 I think so that suited me. Cool atmosphere and music playing.
That's my second time there, as we go to farm for #ingress anomalies. The overall is good, i.e. it's a pub! There are two pool tables, the waitress is very kind and attentive, but a bad thing is the smokers. Even from outside, you can smell the nasty smoke. I mean...
Nice dive , with fun karaoke in the side room (i was there a Sunday nite). it's not my neighb so used to a better vibe (friendlier) as far as the bartenders & patrons. Overall a good time though!
Little eclectic neighborhood joint for beer and bar food. The nachos are extremely good. The burger was shared and ordered multiple times throughout the night. The beer selection is limited and not as cold as I would like. There's a second area, standing room only for when the main room gets crowded and there's also some outdoor seating. The wait staff was excellent feel free to listen to their recommendations they know what they are talking about. The area looks sketchy but it's in BK, so it's kind of expected but overall it seemed rather safe.
Great little neighborhood bar. Food is great. Tacos and burgers are great. Good beer selection, and super quick service, now if they can only get the music formula right. Unfortunately the music at night sucks for some reason. Looks like it depends on who's bartending. Last time I was there, the bartenders were playing horrible modern pop like Daddy Yankee and Drake. I turned around and left. But if I go in the day, like for lunch, great punk, indie and rock. Perhaps an approved spotify list or something custom made by management? Oh, and the pickles here are house made and EXCELLENT. Should jar it up and sell. I'll be the first to buy!
Cool bar, with an almost grunge or punk type atmosphere. Ended up circling around this bar twice in one night, evidence of a good time. There can be a lot of people, so the service can sometimes be a bit lagging. But the staff was nice and got to everyone when they could.
Local metal/rock bar. I think they still have shows from time to time. 2 pool tables, arcade hunting game and rock usually playing. Good burger beer special during the week and good nachos and pickles and guiness and decent selections on tap . Good after rehearsals or just a good place to go for cheap food and drink in a space with rock, airbrushed velvet pictures on the wall and cool peeps 😎
Deliciously sloppy veggie burgers and affordable beers. Staff is their own, so don't expect too little or too much. This is a no frills bar! They won't baby you, they won't ignore, but deal with you as is. Simple! The kitchen is open to 3 AM which is amazing! Place itself leaves a little more to be desired. Can't quite put my finger on it. It's cozy, but not really. Dark, but not really. Rowdy, but not really. Again, old-school kinda middle of the road watering hole with above average food. No frills! Kinda.
Went to a concert across the street, Brooklyn Monarch, so we decided to stop in to get a few drinks and food. Didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and food. Had the fries and an Asian style hotdog that was incredible. Bartenders were attentive and friendly for the most part. Drinks were decent here as well. No complaints
Love this place but super disappointed to see the Asian-inspired menu gone!!! Never got to try the sisig chopped cheese 💔
Had to walk out after someone working there played with a dog rubbing all over the dog then went back to touching everything at the bar without washing her hands. I already ordered my food but immediately left digusted.
Came here for lunch today before a film screening. Liked the feel of the place. Reminded me of this bar that was an institution in Austin, TX I used to go to in grad school called Hole in the Wall. Food was okayish to good. The famous bacon wrapped hot dog was great. I got tofu buffalo “chicken” sandwich and it was a little undersauced. Another friend got it and felt the same way. Another friend got the red bean burger which was really good. Bonus points for having good music--I heard Wire and Hüsker Du (and a Grant Hart Hüsker Du song that wasn't on Zen Arcade at that). I’m rarely in this area(maybe once a year ) but next time I’ll hit this place up again.
The Anchored Inn Est. 2011 Layout/atmosphere *Nautical theme (dummy in diving suit hanging; model ships); graffiti exterior; wooden bar with brass pipe; TV; leather booths; graffiti/sticker covered bathroom; tables on sidewalk under awning Food/drink *Carmen Fries (Cheddar sauce, queso Oaxaca, bacon, scallions, charred scallion aioli) - good; straightforward bar comfort food; bacon was crispy; cheddar sauce was the second-most distinct flavor
I enjoyed my experience here. Lucy was so inviting and welcoming. It’s definitely a dive bar. Love the decor! Great place to come on a late night. They had a full menu, we didn’t leave til LATE! My meal (nachos) was just a bit too heavy at that time of night but I will definitely be back to try more of the menu items. My friend enjoyed his jackfruit sandwich.
This place is the spot to go if you are a punk living in Williamsburg. There are cute guys there sometimes, but other times the servers are super rude. If you don’t match their look, they will vibe you out of the establishment. But then again, it’s fun watching the crust punks do their thing and i like giving them my money because they have swag. Some nights are more chill for normies, other nights dress code is tattoos and black denim vest with patches and rips or gtfo.
Highly disappointed by the nachos. We came here for dinner and was wondering why the nachos were basically just chips. The nachos came out cold with little to no cheese. Then only to realize the nachos were supposed to come with jalepenos , red onion and avocado; which came with none of those. When asked if the nachos were supposed to have cheese they brought it back with cold spray cheese. The bartenders were great. My burger was great. but charging almost $15 for chips and cold cheese is insane.
I wish I could give this place a better review but what seems to have been after a series of miscommunication my night at this venue ended with the bouncer barring my re entrance and threatening to throat check me. This venue was the closest thing I was looking after meandering through E Williamsburg for the better part of an hour, and I tried to be kind to the barkeeps, but from the moment I got there 2/3 were giving me the cold shoulder and the nastiest attitudes when they did deign to acknowledge me for no obvious reason. I’m left to wonder whether my plain outfit which didn’t blend in with the surrounding ambience contributed any part to this frigid treatment as I managed to have meaningful conversations with other patrons at the bar who seemed more receptive to my presence. If you can get a smile from those serving it’s a solid joint.
The service was good and the atmosphere was very laid back, but the drinks were very weak. It felt like I was drinking a coke by itself and I don’t drink often. After having two drinks I decided to leave. It would be better to get shots from this establish if you’re looking for a buzz.
Come on in! Serve yourself, be met with an attitude when you ask questions, grab your own menu from the service staff podium, walk up to the bar to place your order and then be treated with a hostile attitude because they didn’t like your tip. Service? What service? Food is great but if you get a bartender that’s just not having a good night they will most likely take it out on you. I like to come here and bring friends that visit but it’s really a toss up whether or not you get a staff member that is going to be nice. It has happened before but I guess it’s probably time to find a different spot.
I love the food and vibe, but please stop changing credit card tips. I’ve had 3 separate encounters over the last year where my tip has been changed- I know this because I always round to the nearest dollar. The first two times I believed it was an accident, and now I do not. Please do better.
Firstly, don’t make any jokes with the bouncer outside or he’ll tell you to leave. Guy is strictly business and on some sort of a power trip. When we ordered food one side of the table was served 10 minutes before the other, and the appetizers were served last which was pretty strange. Also, the only way to get water is from a cooler and there was water all over the floor. Only redeeming trait of this place is that the food is pretty good.
I recently had a disappointing experience at The anchored inn, due to the unprofessional behavior of one of their staff members ( bartender) My friends and I were asking questions about the establishment's menu when the barwoman became hostile and rude towards us. We felt disrespected and uncomfortable, and ultimately, she dropped us out of the establishment. It's unfortunate that even after trying to calmly resolve the situation, we were met with such unprofessional conduct, so hope this bartender gets punishment some kind off, because it is not good service And not the best way to treat people for sure!
I’ve been in the neighborhood for 10 years and the vibe of this place is different since pre-covid. I went in yesterday for a drink and dinner, and sat at the corner of the bar where there were two empty seats on either side of me. Made eye contact with both bartenders but they seemed busy, so I waited. I think it’s relevant to mention that one was male and one was female (and I now know that the woman is a manager there), and that both were white and I am black. I waited about 3-4 minutes and then an older white man walks in, acknowledges my presence and sits down. Within SECONDS, he has a PBR in front of him, before he’s even had time to remove his earbuds. I think to myself “fine, he’s a regular but they’re not too busy to help him.” The male bartender briefly makes eye contact with me AGAIN after putting this guy’s beer down and I start to say something but he walks away, now seemingly “too busy” again. Another minute goes by and finally the white female bartender/manager gestures for him to come help me, so he comes over and asks what I want. I ask for a PBR and he goes to get it. But I’d had to wait 5 minutes for this beer that the guy next to me got in 5 seconds when I’d gotten there first? I became so angry while waiting for him to come back that I when I saw him returning with the beer, before he opened it, I said “actually, never mind.” Grabbed my stuff and left. I know that being the only black person in the bar when this happened doesn’t mean it was racism, but it looked like racism. I know that they were busy and the white guy who walked in was a regular or friend of the manager so they hooked him up, but you can’t claim to be “too busy” to help a black customer when you’re not too busy to help your white friend who shows up, and you can’t gaslight me into believing that I didn’t make eye contact with both bartenders TWICE while being ignored. I came back a few minutes later to explain to them why I’d left — the male bartender made excuses and the white female manager (who was sitting at the bar with the regular when I came in) walked away when she heard me begin to complain (after we made eye contact again). Racism is alive and well in 2022, no matter how well some people will try to pretend that’s not what it is.
bouncer thinks this is berghain and will yell at you for standing in the standing area dedicated for standing near the entrance
bouncer (10/09/25) needs to lose his job. he was playing pubg on his phone while working the door and then came out and screamed at my friends and i for blocking the entrance (we weren’t) and threatened us because we told him we weren’t doing anything wrong (we had no drinks outside). fire him.
I was at an art exhibit nearby and needed food badly. Unfortunately for me, there were only two places still serving food. We ended up at The Anchored Inn because the other spot was charging a $50 cover due to some band. I have to say, I’ve had some bad experiences before, but this topped the list. We walked in—the doorman was cool—found a couple of stools at the bar, and sat down. Not one of the bartenders acknowledged us. Two of my friends actually left because it was absolutely ridiculous that we were sitting directly in front of the bartenders, who were seemingly ignoring us. Granted, I would’ve left too, but I was STARVING and in desperate need of food. We asked for menus about 10 minutes in. All in all, it took about 20+ minutes to get menus—MENUS! And that’s being generous. What’s funny is that I watched folks walk in after us and get served. Hell, I even watched the bartenders serve themselves drinks in front of us. The only obvious difference I could detect was that… well, we were the only melanated patrons. I sincerely hope that’s not why we were woefully ignored—maybe it was my hair—but that was just my observation. About 35 minutes in, we finally got drinks, and they were terrible. The food served as the sustenance I needed, I suppose—at that point, it didn’t need to be enjoyable. I just want to let the fine folks at The Anchored Inn know: message received loud and clear—"We’re not welcome." And as such, I have no intention of ever going back!
Security guard behaved very rude and unprofessional, threatening me and my friends with physical assault
Absolutely unacceptable experience. The bartender (black hair tied up) was rude, dismissive, and shockingly unprofessional. Her attitude alone ruined the visit. If this is the standard of service here, management should seriously reconsider who they have representing their business. First and last time coming. Avoid — there are far better options in the area. This was Friday night.
Came here last night — the food was great and the place itself had a nice vibe. Unfortunately, our experience was ruined by our server/bartender, who was shockingly rude. From the moment we sat down, only my girlfriend was given water while I was just glared at — odd, but I brushed it off. Then came the drinks — mine had almost no alcohol. Finally, my food order came out wrong, and by that point the whole atmosphere just felt uncomfortable. We ended up leaving early and, sadly, won’t be coming back.
