We visited this place when it was the greenhouse cafe but it seems a new business has taken over. The interior looks mostly the same. We ordered the steak and chicken with rice and beans. The food was very fresh and tasted great. The portion was just right, filling you up. The prices were much more inflated than I was comfortable with though. The service was nice. We ordered at the counter and sat upstairs. Our food was brought to us. The staff seemed friendly. I like the atmosphere of the place, very chill. They had a TV on the first floor playing spider-man. The decor is fun especially the green allen st sign. Overall a good experience but the prices do make me a bit hesitant to make a return so soon.
Delish! Only recommendation is I wished the sorullos came with some sort of dipping sauce
I grew up on the West Side and have to say the food is really good! If you like Puerto Rican food, you’ll love this restaurant. I had a pernil/roasted pork entree, with arroz con gandules/yellow rice. The pernil was very tasty and the pastelillo/empanadas are a 10/10. In addition, their coffee was excellent. If you love the culture of Allen Street, mixed with amazing food, you’ll love this place!
Fun little restaurant unique meal options I would definitely go back play presentation was great. They also offered a voucher through seize the deal which made it even more affordable
Stopped by for lunch and tried the roasted pork and rice combo, which was delicious. A great spot if you wanna get some Puerto Rican/Latin cuisine in Allentown.
I have been trying to try this restaurant for a few days, and finally got it to. It did not disappoint. Authentic Puerto Rican food. Be patient. The food is made from scratch. Simply delicious.
From the moment you lay eyes on this establishment, you can tell instantly it’s bringing exactly what Allen is need of and the perfect atmosphere for community! Sharing a cultured cuisine crafted so darn good it’ll make you wanna come back everyday! Adding a twist offering wholeness food and drink items just puts the cherry on top of this amazing spot!
This food is made with love! Everything is extremely flavorful! Highly recommend for Spanish food! This is the spot!!
Bomb food, great service and the atmosphere is 🔥🔥. Food is always delicious and I can’t wait to go back I recommend the bistec and rice with some dessert 🍛🍴🍴

Great place in the heart of Allentown! The couple that run the restaurant are super friendly, organized, and serve amazing food!
Food was amazing! Authentic for sure. Staff was friendly and attentive. Me and my husband ordered quite a lot to try many of items on menu. And left with a good portion. We will definitely be back. The brunch sounds amazing, said they just started do it about two weeks ago.
I just had a great experience at El Coquito, I felt comfortable sitting upstairs. The waitress went above and beyond, frequently navigating the stairs without a single complaint, even though there were only a few patrons inside. The food was fantastic, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere had a wonderful vibe that made the visit enjoyable. Highly recommend! Spaced Out Podcast Approved @spacedout_podcast
I came here for the first time today and the food was amazing as well as the service. I really want to go when brunches start up again...sounds like a good time like my lunch was today. Mimosas with brunch sounds so yummy!!! I honestly can't wait to go back for brunch, lunch or dinner!! It's a cute little place that has delicious food and super great service.
The food was high quality and authentic. I come from a large Puerto Rican family and I know PR food. This place was amazing. Had the pernil and it was cooked to perfection.

Looking for something quick for lunch today and tried El Coquito. I was unsure if it was Puerto Rican Food or if it was a coffee house but nonetheless. I ordered 2 Chicken Pastelillo, sweet plantain, and a mango smoothie. I was taken aback because it was a very long wait and there was only 3 others ahead of me who were together. I finally got my smoothie and it was delicious, and I enjoyed it, the plantain was fine too, nothing special, I wish it would’ve been served with something to dip them into but wishful thinking. The chicken pastelillo - so the roasted chicken inside was delicious yet it needed to be seasoned, the cheese, American, not a good choice for me (I am not a fan of American cheese) I almost didn’t eat it but I felt the chicken was pretty good so I would take one for the team. The best part was the homemade shell. Overall I would try them again hoping that American cheese is gone tho sorry

This is the first time eating at this restaurant and my overall experience was average! I ordered roaster pork and I was informed that they didn't have anymore! So, I ordered beef steak with onions with rice and beans! Ipon receiving my meal, the meal was barely warm! The rice and beans were warm! This place has no Alcohol or Malta Indian! The decor was average! The meal was tasty, but it needs to be hot and not warm at best!

Food is generally pretty good, but it’s been two times now that I’ve driven there and the restaurant was closed on a whim, against its listed hours.

Really upset. The meal was $18 and I got barely any beans or meat. Was excited to try this place but feel robbed. There is literally maybe a forkful of beans. All juice. Also had to wait because nobody was there. I think they just rushed my order but I’m very sad.

I came to visit and after a long trip I was starving and thought this place was good. Not only did it feel like a daycare but the daughter and mother was arguing in-front of me because the daughter got my order wrong. She shouldn’t be working in the restaurant if she doesn’t know how to take orders correctly, all while the mother sat with her friend instead of making sure I was happy with my meal. If you’re looking for a chill spot with good customer service don’t come here !
This restaurant was featured on the two good to go app so figured I would give them a try there pickup window was from 4pm to 5pm for the mystery bag I got there at 4:45pm and the lady at register said they had no food and could not honor so I asked her what I should do since I already paid and she was very rude and said there was nothing she could do her manager wasn't there and that I would have to figure out how to get a refund myself I will never go to this restaurant again the staff is very rude and doesn't know how to treat customers and now I have to hope I can contact someone for refund would never recommend this place to no one
This restaurant is an absolute disaster — unorganized, irresponsible, and completely lacking basic professionalism. I waited nearly 55 minutes for a simple pork chop with rice and beans. The staff claimed the kitchen was backed up, yet there were only two other people dining in the restaurant at the time. After all that waiting, I watched them hand my exact order to another customer who had arrived after me. When I brought it up, they told me the kitchen made a mistake and that I’d have to wait even longer. That was the first time I’ve ever walked out of a restaurant. I didn’t even bother asking for a refund because, frankly, they seemed to need it more than I do. Hopefully it helps them hire additional staff or learn how to properly manage orders. -I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Extremely Unprofessional Front Staff I came to El Coquito a couple of months ago with my boyfriend, and I’m only writing this review now because the experience has been stuck in my head. The food itself was terrible — dry, overcooked, and had no flavor. But what really ruined the visit even more was the customer service. The woman working at the front desk/register was extremely unprofessional. She was openly flirting with my boyfriend right in front of me, speaking in Spanish even though I don’t speak Spanish (but my boyfriend does). She was telling him she wanted to cook for him and even asked for his number so she could “cook for him and contact him.” That was completely inappropriate and honestly disgusting. No employee should ever act like that toward a customer, especially when that customer is clearly there with their partner. I came to enjoy a Puerto Rican meal with my man, not to watch an employee try to get his attention and ask for his number. Between the bad food and the disrespectful behavior, I won’t be returning. Customer service matters, and that interaction was totally out of line.
