20 of my friends/family and I dined at Compane on 4/7/18 for dinner, to celebrate my bachelorette. We had a wonderful experience. It was ALL of our first time there, the food was incredible and the service impeccable. Everyone was friendly and helpful from the first time I called a month prior to ask about a reservation for our large party, up until we were walking out the door after our fabulous meal. Highly recommend, I will definitely be returning!
Amazing food. Felt like everything on the menu was made that day. Loved the ravioli and mussels. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a nice Italian dinner that goes beyond your typical casual fare.
Meatballs are phenomenal. Blantons bourbon always there what more could you ask for !!!
Have had a wonderful meal each time we have eaten here. We would eat here more often, if only it were closer to where we live. Also, one of the safest dining out experiences we've had since Covid hit. Thank you for protecting us all by mask and vaccine requirements. I wish more restaurants in Rochester would do this.
Calamari appetizer was excellent. The brussel sprout salad was delicious. Nice atmosphere. Our waiter, Noah (?), was the perfect combination of helpful without being clingy. Definitely check it out.
We often order their chicken parm for take out. It’s so good and the noodles are homemade. Our kids inhale it, with is also a plus! Compane is a great, nicer restaurant for a date night or for a family dinner right in our village.
First time visit to celebrate our neices birthday. Noah our host was very friendly and professional and he kept our group of ten very entertained. The food was delicious and the Pizza and Arancini are highly recommended. Bravo Compane Trattoria...nicely done.
So few tables made it super nice for a private dinner. Very tall ceilings could have made it a loud restaurant but they have placed the tables far apart and giving you quite a bit of room between them and it was wonderful. Bar wasn't as comfy as we'd hoped but our table was ready right away so we grabbed a drink and were seated . 8:15 pm Our server was great and the food delicious. I had a piece of halibut ,sauces excellent and the other person had bolognese. Both delicious and good size portions. Not cheap but we will return because it was so enjoyable .go there!
Really nice ambience whether you sit at the bar or take a seat inside the dining area. Wines a little on the pricier side, but a good selection. Bartender was very courteous and professional and was really prompt in attending to you once you were seated.Excellent menu including wood fired pizza of which I had the Clifford Street version. Definitely should check this hidden gem out in Fairport.
The food was amazing. The arancini was spectacular and I’d highly recommend it.
This place was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. My girlfriend and I went for our 4 year anniversary dinner and the whole experience was great. The owner greeted us and offered to take our coats and hang them. The atmosphere is cozy, comforting, and clean. The bar area was great with great selection of wines. I know people say this a lot when something good, but the calamari was the BEST that me or my girlfriend have EVER had. Melt in your mouth fresh. I didn't even dunk it in any of the sauces because it was so good by itself. The specials were amazing. She ordered the meatloaf wrapped in prosciutto, and made of beef, lamb and bison! I ordered the truffle cream pasta which was probably one of the best tasting things I've ever had. There was about 8 different things on the menu that we still wanted try! We will 100% be going back. The owner talked to us on the way out and put on my girlfriends coat for her - very friendly and hospitable service. This is how you run a restaurant!
We had a fantastic night out with friends. The food and wine were both excellent. I had the calamari, the arancini and the gnocchi. We finished up with the tiramisu cheesecake. Every dish was tasty and well-prepared. The service was efficient and nonintrusive and the ambiance was enchanting. I highly recommend this Fairport gem!
I left Rochester 3 years ago. So good to return and see that this restaurant is flourishing. Menu choices are excellent. Steak, fish, pasta all excellent. Note the owner and staff are very friendly and go out of their way to make accommodations for special needs.
My first time here and it was excellent. The restaurant was fairly quiet being a Tuesday night but it was well staffed. I can understand how it might get noisy as it gets busier being very open with hard surfaces everywhere but it's a lovely higher end casual feel. Some ceiling hangings might dampen that echo. I highly recommend the cider glazed salmon with crispy Brussels. The salmon was done perfectly having a nice grill flavor that paired wonderfully with the very slightly tangy cider glazed and the char of the crispy Brussels. I think I could easily eat a plate of the Brussels as a meal on their own. The bartender was friendly and happy to answer questions about all the food and the restaurant. They have definitely priced some of the entrees and specials on the higher end and based on the salmon i can't argue much though for that price range a wild caught salmon might be better. Though I can't quibble over $1-3difference I'd suggest. It really was delicious. They do have pizzas and pastas if you're feeling less spendy.
Very spacious, modern interior with large patio. Food was excellent! My ravioli was very tasty as was my husband's halibut. Pizza was larger than a normal personal wood fired pizza and cooked perfectly. We'll be back!
My wife and I just ate here for the first time and it is our new favorite restaurant. The homemade ravioli and chicken parm was perfect. We will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu!
A ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review before I could get out of my chair. The food is fantastic, fast, and fresh. I will definitely come back as often as possible. Even my wife and father loved it all, and they complain about everything.
Delicious Italian food tucked away in the village of Fairport. Always great service here as well as unique seasonal offerings. From their homemade pasta to their specialty pizzas cooked in a proper oven, I've never had a bad meal here. It does get busy, so reservations are a good idea. Also, it's not cheap, but it's also reasonable for the area and quality of food.
Noah did a fabulous job taking care of us! He makes you feel like he is glad that you are there and really wants to make sure that you have a great experience. And the owner was even making the rounds ensuring that everyone was more than satisfied with their meal and service. We had the veal parmesan and ravioli and it was magnificent. As much as possible, everything is locally sourced. And the pasta and sauces are made in-house, fresh daily. If you love Italian, you will love this place!
Great service, excellent food. We got there on a busy day (canal days festival 2021). We were seated as soon as the busser cleaned the table, which was very quickly done after the people sitting there left. We sat outside (they also allow dogs outside) and even though it's basically a parking lot view it was lined with flowers inside tall granite planters. So it was a much nicer atmosphere than just looking at the parking lot. Our server was very attentive and even replaced a mixed drink my wife didn't like without charging us for it. Don't know how many times in higher end restaurants they just charge you anyways. The food was very good and we loved the arancini! Oh and they put cucumber in the water which is different, but refreshing in the summer.
Friendly atmosphere very nice place, meatballs are my favorite dish they are soft hand made, along with the delicious salted top bread dipped in there special house made olive oil . Highly recommend this place, Don't forget to get your drinks served by your favorite bartender Eddie
Great food, quick service and at a certain time the lights dim down and the place becomes a bit more intimate.
The food was great, much better than I anticipated! The atmosphere isn't the greatest, but the food makes up for it. Our server was excellent, top-notch!!
Superb dinner, great service and atmosphere! The fresh pasta was off the charts!
Celebrated my sister's birthday last night (party of 10) and our waiter Noah was fantastic. Knew the menu and could answer questions in detail. Great service. Food was prepared as ordered, was hot and tasted fresh. Nice atmosphere. The only concern is with the level of noise. The restaurant was about half full and it was noisy. I didn't see any sound absorption tiles or banners and I would recommend they invest in some.
Lovely restaurant. Our server was sweet, engaging and knowledgeable. Christine V we loved you. Food was delicious. The one complaint I have is that we were charged for ice cubes in my husband’s bourbon!!!! Seriously!?!! Why don’t you charge for the napkins then? That totally rubbed us the wrong way!!! Give me a break; it’s water and you freeze it. There are other places to visit in the beautiful area with delicious food. Appreciate the response however your receipt says Kings Ice and $2 for each drink he has so we had $4 charge for two King Cubes!!!!! Not the same as you described as a larger poor. Bad taste for the business!!! It’s only $4 people say but it’s the principle of being charged for king ice!!!
Just hosted my daughter's bridal shower here and it was outstanding across the board! The food, the space and the service (Casey and staff) were top tier! HIGHLY recommend!!
My friends and I had a stellar first experience at Compané! Our waiter, Noah was very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful and had a smile on his face the whole night! The chicken Parmesan was top notch and all of us cannot wait to come back!
Great place for a date especially if you can manage to get a place outside in the nice weather. A really nice atmosphere, with good food highly courteous service, and many fine clientele. The brick oven pizza is quite good as are the desserts. It is at the base of the large Smoke Stack that remains as the large Landmark from the original American Can Company at this location.
Had a very delightful experience for dinner here Saturday night. First off, a lovely restaurant aesthetically. The food and drinks were absolutely phenomenal. Everything was very fresh with a profile of different flavors that all came together very nicely. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. When I had ordered arancini she immediately let me know of a recent change they made to the dish that included mushroom which I do not like so we switched to the wings. I have to say I almost regret getting them for the fact that I am unsure how I will eat wings any other place. Everything on the menu that I’ve had is fresh made and delicious, but their chicken wings….. Confit in duck fat, Calabrian chili wings with gorgonzola and pickled red onions. These are truthfully and whole heartedly special. Probably one of the best food items I’ve ever tasted. The price here for upscale dining is incredibly fair as well. Meatballs Wings Bread and oil Chicken Parm Bolognese 3 Drinks Tiramisu This was $128 dollars before tip. That’s unheard of in upscale dining. It’s not Char fancy, but it’s in nice area with a beautiful layout and you should probably dress at least BC to eat here. It’s a nice atmosphere, friendly employees, owner took time to greet us and ask about our experience. The only complaint I could have about the whole place really is no fault of their own. It is a full on royal rumble to find a parking spot in that plaza. Not even a situation in which you can just find a less than desirable spot, you will literally have to just drive around until you get lucky and see someone leave. Will help to arrive a bit early for a res. 10/10 restaurant experience I recommend highly.
Casey is usually Our waitress she’s on point and the food has been delicious. We usually get the “bear” and chicken Milanese
Did date night with the wife here for the first time! Excellent choice! Food was tabled without much of a wait. I had the chicken Milanese. Awesome! It was very flavorful, yet also light! Portions were very reasonable. TT Theresa’s lemonade was a great cocktail choice! But the best part was dessert- tiramisu cheesecake! 🤤🤤🤤🤤 Noah was our server & just a delight, especially after just returning from vacation! Would recommend!
Consistently amazing food. The flavors are always rich and full. We started with drinks and fried calamari, love the crunch and the kick of spice from the pepper. I had the Chicken Milanese, it was fresh flavorful, crisp and seasoned perfectly. My date had the ravioli... Full of flavor, creamy and just perfection on a plate. We finished with the chocolate bread pudding with fresh strawberry gelato. The desert was serve in a warm vast iron pan, nice crusty top with a gooey chocolate pudding center....paired with the strawberry gelato... Just Perfection!
Compane is a fantastic restaurant that we highly recommend. We’ve had both small family lunches and large 16-person dinners to celebrate my parents’ wedding anniversary. The attentive and friendly service caters to both small and large groups. The menu offers a wide variety of choices, making it challenging for us to decide what to order, so we often end up sharing dishes. The food is consistently delicious and never disappoints. They also have a great selection of refreshing cocktails and they also go out of their way to make a fun unique mocktail for our daughter every time we go.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (but honestly, 6 stars for emotional damage) Came here for dinner. Left questioning my ability to form coherent sentences in the presence of an exceptionally handsome bartender named KEVIN. Let’s start with the food: Unreasonably good. Like, “why is this appetizer better than most of my life choices?” good. Every bite felt intentional, flavorful, and frankly a little judgmental about how often I eat frozen meals at home. Now the bartender. Sir. First of all—rude. How DARE you be that attractive while also being charming, attentive, and capable of making a cocktail that tastes like confidence and poor decision-making? I ordered one drink and somehow ended up emotionally invested. The eye contact? Criminal. The smile? Unnecessary. The fact that he remembered my order? I will be thinking about that for 3–5 business days. His salty beard as well as the salty bread and butter had me reeling. Service was impeccable. Drinks were fast, food was hot, vibes were immaculate. At no point did I feel rushed—except by my own heartbeat when the bartender walked by. Would I come back? Yes. For the food? Absolutely. For the bartender? Against my better judgment, 100%.
Excellent as always. The food is really good, the atmosphere is very nice. The staff is great. Always good things to say
We went there for a girls night out with 8 women and had such a wonderful night. The weather was terrible, half of us ran late, and they were so accommodating. The drinks were delicious, the food was divine and our waiter Noah was amazing. We ate, drank, enjoyed dessert, each other and the beautiful spot Compané is. I can’t wait to go back! The French press coffee was also such a sweet addition to an already delicious meal. I loved holding the tall mug.
This place is amazing. Everyone enjoyed the dinner, service was excellent, and the owner was very attentive and on site making sure everything was going smoothly. Never been to a restaurant like this before!
I first encountered Compané in its original incarnation under the Cristofori family, a charming establishment steeped in authenticity. During that time, a young chef named Brendan joined the kitchen — and even then, his talent was unmistakable. His dishes carried a precision and passion that hinted at greatness to come. When Brendan later took ownership and relocated Compané, the transformation was nothing short of remarkable. With each visit — and every bite — I’ve witnessed his menu evolve into a showcase of culinary artistry. What began as a beloved local restaurant has matured into a dining experience that consistently surprises and delights, a testament to Brendan’s unwavering commitment to craft and creativity.
Excellent place for a corporate dinner. Plenty of room to move around enjoying appetizers, drinks and conversations for 50 guests. Great food!
Great service (Noah), plenty of seating in their new location at Fairport Cannery. Nice outdoor seating too. The food never disappoints. Calamari and arancini balls are some of the best I have ever tasted
Everything we tried from drinks to appetizers to the entrees were fantastic! The atmosphere is fresh and welcoming. The menu offered something for everyone. The service was excellent too. You will have a wonderful dinner and a fabulous experience.
This was my first visit meeting a friend during the week. The atmosphere was the exposed brick, immaculate bar, and the lighting was very golden and soft. Our server suggested cocktails based on our preferences of spirits, and concocted unique libations. I was very impressed. Their Buratta appetizer was singularly delicious, bright and zesty. I had a fantastic evening there, and would encourage you to try this gem in the heart of Fairport.
My wife and I always eat at the bar. We love the atmosphere, service and selection. Have dinner with a bigger group in the dining room on a few occasions, but that experience ok at best. Have not dined outside yet, I'll have to give that a try, it's certainly worthy of a second chance.
We sat at the bar and were the only ones at the bar. I expected excellent service. Yes, I've waited tables. The food could have been great but the they had to substitute 1/2 eggplant for zucchini in my meal because they ran out. Not only that, but they overcooked it. It had been fried just a little too long. The prices were insane. I had water to drink and my date had a cocktail so it evened out. Overall with the tip it came to $76 some? Little steep if you ask me for a Brick oven Bistro.
Chose to eat outside... a bit too loud inside. Menu seemed limited somehow. Service was attentive and pleasant. Her GF pasta was excellent; my pizza was OK. Marinated tomatoes were interesting - once. In sum it was good, but not delighted.
The food was very good, and fair prices. Everything very well seasoned. Gnocci was perfect and the beet salad too. My husband loved the polenta and the crispy eggplant. I would go back again for sure, and recommend it. Service was fast, even though the place was very busy, and the waitress was friendly. I didn't give it 5 starts because the ambiance didn't "wow" me, decorations were a bit bland. I would give 4.5 starts.
Food was extraordinary. However, the experience was cheapened by seeing a charge listed on the menu of 3.5% for using a credit card. Really? Perhaps you could boost your income by adding a sir charge for silverware rental? Just fold that cost into your meals like the rest of the world does. Adding that cost makes you look like a penny pincher instead of the high quality restaurant that you could be. I wish your delicious meals were not upstaged by your misorly charge. Get with the program.
Four in our party. Each of us very well pleased with the presentation and flavors of our meals. However, the complimentary bread was almost like cake. I prefer a heartier style of bread. One big concern was the noise inside. There are several sound absorbing panels on the walls but not nearly enough. I honestly could not hear each person at our table. Waaay too much noise and it became uncomfortable for me. I'd place many more sound deadening devices on the walls, high & low. If I dont see more upon my next visit, I'll ask for a table outside or go somewhere else. But remember, very good food.
Small menu but good quality food. Cocktails were very good too.
Wood oven Pizzas are delicious. Try the Sicilian salad, pretty good as well. It's like eating a cheese board in a salad
This was my first visit and I would characterize the cuisine as light Italian. The sauces aren't heavy and there isn't deep fried anything. There were three vegetarian options, arancini, angnoletti, and ravioli. And of course the pizza options. The cocktails we ordered were superb, a French 75 and the Baron with a delicious rye whiskey. The menu is not extensive, so be sure to take a look that there is something for everyone if you are going with a large group.
Great location. Love the interior design layout. Looking forward to seeing the outdoor dining area in the spring. Chicken parm was tasty but a little dry. The extra sauce we asked for helped. Food was warm but not hot. Service was great. Very attentive waitress truly seemed to appreciate our business. What's up with the 3.5% service charge added onto the check for credit card payments? No one does that.
I went to dinner there on Friday 1/29 with 6 people. The new space is fantastic. Really solid ambiance. The food was delicious and nobody at the table had a qualm. The opportunity I saw though was in the service. The wait staff was awesome, but the speed of how they churned the food out was way to fast (as odd as that sounds). I could understand that being the case if there was customers waiting to be sat, but that wasn’t the case. We were looking to have some drinks, a great meal and take our time. They easily could have gotten another round of drinks out of us if they slowed down. We walked in... had salad, entree and 2 drinks each in 1 hr and 4 min. It felt rushed.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. We had the salmon with beets and fennel. Create your own pizza - the crust was divine, and a Napa cabbage salad that was delish with a great dressing. The service lacked. We waited too long for any kind of a drink or to be acknowledged. I waitressed for a long time in my youth and I would never have wanted any of my customers to sit as long without attention at each stage of the dinner. Hopefully that was a one off and the next time I go back, because the food was delicious, we get better service.
The service was good and the staff were friendly. I was expecting a better caeser salad than I had but at least they offered anchovies if you wanted them. The eggplant parm was just fried eggplant with melted cheese and very little sauce. The portions are good size and entrees come with a side, which is another plus. Be prepared, the place has high ceilings and is very l-o-u-d making it difficult to hear everyone at the table. I'd go back for a drink.
Our meals were Delicious! Best chicken parm ever. However, seeing a fee for using a credit card very much cheapened the experience. We know all businesses are charged fees for that. Just include it in the price of the meal. Especially as your prices seemed reasonable. We deducted that fee from a generous tip to our waiter like most folks will do. Get rid of that practice and stop looking like a penny pincher.
We usually love this restaurant but tonight the fish was dry, tasteless and boring. For the price especially, we were disappointed. This is a place for Italian meals… pizza and pasta only.
The food is very good! But $15 per glass of wine?!? And on top of that you get a processing fee for paying with a credit card. Come on! Give people a break! We will go back, but I wish you would rethink your pricing and charging fees.
Excellent food but subpar service. Our server was very knowledgeable and decent but it took FOREVER to get anything, even water to start. Waiting for a second “round” of bread (4 tiny slices) took legit 25 mins and it felt as though they really didn’t want to provide a second round. We had reservations and arrived with 3 mins to spare due getting caught behind a train…we were told since others were stuck behind the train that they were bumping our reservation for the late arrivals. That didn’t sit well with me as the train is part of the village and is constantly going to cause that same issue for some, and we made our time-slot so it should have been honored. Anyway, I’m glad we tried it for my birthday dinner because the food was super good and I’d been wanting to for a long time but overall we won’t go again.
Wear good walking shoes as parking was non-existent at the time we scheduled. When making reservations we were charged $10 per person on our credit card, to be refunded when we arrived. We had reservations at 7:00 for 9 people but we weren't seated for 25 minutes. We had to stand near the bar, sadly with our backsides right next to a table of patrons trying to enjoy their meal. No room to wait or sit. It was so incredibly LOUD it made conversation impossible. Drinks took quite a while to be delivered, one drink was incorrect when delivered and finally adjusted. *There was no mention of the $2.00 charge for ice in your drink.* Additionly the wine requested and listed was 'not available'. Ten very small slices of bread was delivered for our party of nine, with dipping oil and ice cold butter. We would have requested more, but could not flag down a server. Menu items are a la carte with a salad at $10 (enough for two to share). Some dinner portions were adequate in size, others were small with no side dish. Although food was good, atmosphere was not. Sorry to say we will not be back.
This place has a lot of potential. The food is great and the staff are friendly. Why I would never come back… - We had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation to be seated. The wait staff had no idea when we would be seated. - We had to ask 3 times for bread. Seriously if you didn’t know they had bread here, you would never get it. - Finally, they charge you extra for using your credit card. I think this is the only place in Rochester I’m aware of to do this. There are many, many places in Rochester that are far superior to this restaurant. Go to Pane Vino, Rocco’s, or even Veneto. Better food, customer service, and no extra credit card fee. Avoid this place until they fix those issues.
It was ok. I felt like they were trying to make pizza fancy in name and price, but not so much in flavor. My son had a more traditional meat and sauce pizza that I liked more than my mushroom "pizza" with something other than tomato sauce. My husband thought his ravioli was good. It wasn't busy, but it was loud. I would suggest installing some sound absorbing ceiling tiles. The noise just bounces around all that concrete and brick.
A CRIME! Our party of four dined here on a Saturday night after hearing nothing but amazing things. I’m normally not one to leave reviews, however, every person in our party left feeling taken for a ride, and felt the need to let others know. Our server Casey was wonderful, and the service was prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable, so we did appreciate that. She is the reason I’m even giving this place 2 stars. We started by ordering 2 pizzas, which sounded delicious on the menu, but let me tell you, they looked like frozen Totino’s pizzas and for $20 EACH, tasted about the same. Next we each ordered an entree consisting of Bolognese pasta, salmon, and the burger. The pasta was DRY, flavorless, and also came out cold. The portion was meager especially for the price. The over-priced cocktails were lackluster and my friend didn’t even finish hers because it didn’t taste right. If you’re charging Good Luck prices for cocktails, they better, at minimum, semi compete. Bottom line, the ambiance and prime location by the Fairport canal must be what draws people to this restaurant to pay these exorbitant prices for cafeteria quality food. As someone that fine-dines frequently in Rochester, if you want to spend $200 on a night out, go somewhere where the quality backs up the cost.
The food is very good. However, this establishment is very loud and the portions are small. Food portions are quite small, and wine pours are very small.
Had Sunday pasta. Watery sauce, 2 pieces of pork the size of a dime in the sauce and no sausage like before. Meatballs were good. Not worth 22 bucks. No better than Wegmans sauce from a bag in the crockpot at home. Dessert was way to large for one person but good. Wouldn't recommend.
I stopped in Compane to get dinner to bring home. I ordered the bolognese and I believe it said it was beef, pork and chicken which I only had two chunks of beef no pork or chicken. I knew when the woman handed me the bag and it felt like a feather I knew already that I spent too much for very little. $29 bucks for pretty much a weight watcher meal is unacceptable, not even a piece of bread wow! On Long Island where I’m from every Italian restaurant loads up your plate and gives you garlic bread. So needless to say I won’t be back here and it’s a shame because the food tasted good. If you are going to pay $30 fora meal and it’s only pasta and sauce with a few chunks of meat fill it up. Oh and don’t get me started on the dessert menu. $12 for a piece of cake? Since when? As soon as I got my bag and it felt like a feather I put that dessert menu right down, I might of considered it, but I’m sure it would of been $12 for a sliver and I would of been expected to tip. So I’m glad I have Cheesy Eddies down the block and I got a slice of cake for $4.95😀
We have been going to this restaurant for many years, before it was in its current location and we were never disappointed until last night when we took neighbors. Our portions were small to say the least. They asked if we wanted bread and we got four bite sized pieces of what looked like the little end pieces of a loaf of bread. It was so loud we couldn’t hear each other even though we were in a booth separated by partitions The food was okay. Not what we were used to from there. Very disappointing. Won’t be going back. Definitely a big change from our past experience. Sorry to say
The food was poor. My GF pizza was burned and it looked like the cook just threw it together - very few toppings. My wife’s pizza was well prepared, although it was missing key ingredients listed on the menu. This also reflects poorly on the manager who was informed yet did not come over to see us. We also asked one server (behind the bar) for an extra napkin and he informed us he could not provide it as we were not in his section. Seriously! We won’t be back.
Very very loud even when seated away from the bar area. Service at first was pleasant but she disappeared after we ordered ( food brought out by others) and didn’t check back til we were long finished ( waited longer for the check, with the chintzy processing fee , for credit cards) Food was sup par, calamari was greasy and entrees were just ok and just warm , pizza also came out less then hot and the crust was like white bread. A shame since we are in the area often and wanted to like the place.
The arancini balls were absolutely exquisite, and the pizza was just horrible. It took 40 minutes to be prepared. One side was burnt, the other uncooked, and the toppings and sauce were pretty bad. Hard to understand how they did such a great job on one plate and such a bad one on the other.
Our server was great. The food is overpriced for the quality. I would stick to the pizza which was decent. Atmosphere was charming. Drinks were not consistent in taste. If you go , stick to the pizza which seems to be what the restaurant is really about
Let me start by saying we’ve eaten here multiple times and always had a good experience. However, last night, three of us dined here and my husband and aunt ordered the special, stuffed pork tenderloin with a cheese peppercorn sauce severed with whipped mashed potatoes. Their food came out and both the pork and the mashed potatoes were cold. We sent the food back and after waiting for a good 10 minutes the food came back out and guess what? Both items were still cold. We even had the server and manager touch the food so they could feel for themselves and they both agreed. Such a disappointment. How can a kitchen get this wrong a second time when food has specifically been sent back for being cold? What’s even more baffling is that they aren’t even that busy, which surprised us for a Friday night. They did take the two meals and a round of drinks off the check but still questioning if we’ll return given they can’t get something so simple correct!
I wanted to REALLY enjoy this place-i REALLY DID as it's local and I'm new to the area. Ordered the Primavera.... with NO cheese. They put cheese all over it. It said it came with sun dried tomatoes but there were only two very small sliced tomatoes in the entire HUGE dish and hardly ANY asparagus. There's NO onion listed on the Menu ingredients yet or came with lots. I spent money and would DIE eating it cause I CAN'T HAVE ONIONS. Tried to taste the pasta...dry AF. The pizza I ordered for my son I didn't know they used GREEN instead of black olives.. they DO not list this. Just nonsense. Pretentious prices and we ordered takeout so we were home by the time I seen everything as the receipt of purchase listed everything I ordered just NOT what they said it would be. Waste of money. Nice bartender though. We sat down and waited there for the food to go. Not worth ever going again. .
Menu is very limited and the food is so-so. They charge you $10 per person to make a RESERVATION and then further charge you a credit card processing fee! Atmosphere doesn't feel anything like an Italian restaurant. Sauce was watery. Won't be going back again.
We were highly disappointed in our takeout meal from Compane Trattoria tonight. Had been excited to get a nice meal from a local restaurant, but were not at all pleased. Ordered 2 pizzas that we’re burnt on the bottom and crust. As a result they tasted dry, bland and burnt. The chicken Milanese was small and only fair in flavor. The Chicken Parmesan was good, but better quality can be found at other restaurants. I wanted to be able to give 5 stars to this local restaurant, but can only give 1.
I was excited to try this restaurant because I had heard such good things about it. The restaurant itself is beautiful and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was great. But, unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the food. Everything was definitely overpriced, but if the food had been good, it would have been worth it. Everything is ala cart so the salad was an additional $6-8 and they only left 4 small pieces of bread at our table, but it did have a tasty oil mix to dip it in. The salad was delicious though. My friend and I had the Peas and Pancetta for $20. The serving size was generous but it was tasteless! After adding a ton of cheese and salt and pepper we were able to eat most of it. My husband had the Sunday for $19 and again there was a healthy portion, but he said it tasted more like canned spaghetti than the home made that they claimed. My friend's husband had the Short Rib Agnolotti for $24. He said it was quite tasty but the portion size looked like it was for a child! So, all in all, a very disappointing experience and a waste of $100, which was our tab for dinner for 2 with 2 glasses of wine and 2 very small glasses of beer. We will definitely cross this restaurant off of our list for future visits.
1st of all don’t even try to get in here without a vaccine card, they won’t let you in. Unfortunately they don’t mention that on the website! 2nd we waited 15 minutes to see a server to even take a drink order. 3rd don’t bother asking for any salad dressing other than a vinaigrette for the over priced $8 house salad. 4th all entrees not served at the same time, half of our party of 6 waited 10 minutes after the first dish was served to receive their food. 5th any food served in a bowl or semi bowl, well presentation Is awful the plate are a nice square plate while the semi bowls are different colors and actually look like a cheap plastic bowl that my children used before they could be trusted with anything breakable. 6th once you’ve eaten the underwhelming food and received the bill you’ll be wondering how a place this can possibly charge prices like this. 4 adults 2 children and the bill was $318 with a tip that was too generous for the underwhelming meal our total was $400. It wasn’t the servers fault for any of this so she still gets a decent gratuity. I’m sorry but I’d never eat here again or recommend it to anyone!
What a disappointment! The drinks were terrible, we had a party of 8 and no one liked any of the multiple drinks that were ordered. Our reservation was before 8pm and they were out of half the menu. Our waitress said “this always happens on Saturday’s”, well, maybe order more food if your reservations are booked out. The food was mediocre at best, Olive Garden quality. A burger was cooked well-done on a medium order, then replaced with a raw burger because the chef felt bad about the over cooked burger. We basically cleaned our own table after every course and waited for the staff to come over, only to hand them what we cleaned.
Restaurant’s atmosphere was very charming. Our waitress was very kind, but there’s no way to make up for the overpriced and lackluster food . This place prides itself on fresh food but flavor profiles were off . I had the 29.00 short rib sandwich absolute rubbish I would stay away from that mess .Drinks were not consistent from the bar. They claim is 20 to 30 try more like 40 to 60 unless you’re buying pizza. Tittle of their memoirs “ Pizza Hut tries fine dinning!
This place is disgusting. Our food was either burned, besides the sausage which was raw. The sanitary conditions were terrible, seemed like the chefs were wiping their noses, dripping snot then going straight to touching food with no gloves. The food is overpriced. The portions are beyond tiny. It is classic “trying to be gourmet” garbage. Paying an arm and a leg for some tiny weird concoction of garbage. Save your money and time, just terrible.
