Kyoto Hibachi was the best affordable, quick meal we found in NYC during our vacation. The food was consistently good, fast, and reasonably priced, which made it an easy choice after long days out. We ended up going back several times in the same week because it was reliable and convenient. If you’re visiting and want solid food without a long wait or high prices, Kyoto Hibachi is a great option.
Im editing my review from 3 stars to 5 because I definitely judged this place too soon. While I still don’t think their bento box is for me, their hibachi chicken and sushi rolls are delicious and an insane amount of food for the money. I definitely recommend getting their hibachi entrees. It’s enough food for two meals and it’s soooo good.
Ever since they opened they've been my go-to for sushi in the area. Their hibachi and bubble tea are good as well.
High-quality food great price for Midtown, I really wanted a salad instead of sweet potato for my dinner portion, I was willing to pay more of a dinner price for the lunch special, but they wouldn’t budge. I wish they had some flexibility there, but they were very nice, great portions and affordable cost with amazing vegetables.
Wonderful place to eat with a wonderful team! We started off with a couple rolls and had to go back and order more! Highly recommend trying their drinks as well - the mango slush was simply perfect.
Very high quality food for reasonable prices. The dumpling soup has fresh veggies in it. (Missed taking a picture because I ate it lol). We will be ordering from them again without a doubt!
Got the steak and shrimp hibachi. Quick, tasty, and good portions. Will be coming back!
Saw this new spot in the area and decided to give it a try. The portion is sizable and the hibachi is really good! We had the chicken and steak with egg noodles and it was enough to feed two! Also we got the sushi and it hit the spot. The staff is really kind and they have a BOGO on bubble tea at the moment and we will be back!
Delicious fast casual sushi and bento boxes! The lunch special is unbelievably priced! $15 for a lunch bento box, which includes your choice of a protein, vegetables, two dumplings, rice, and four pieces of sushi. Soy sauce is free, but all the other sauces are a $1 charge. There are no toilets. Seating is very limited. Great option for healthy, affordable to-go food. There is also a kiosk for rapid ordering.
Service was so friendly and the portions, quality, and price point were great! Excited to add this to the rotation when I’m in the area and in need of a quick bite.
First time here invited by my friend, heard about the grand opening, try steak hibachi, steak was really tender, sushi was really fresh, also try soft shell crab tempura nice and crispy, overall the atmosphere was clean and bright, one of the fast food dinning and take out choice in your neighborhood.
May look like your everyday spot but the food is awesome and delicious. The service is top notch. Everyday bento. What’s not to like. Also affordable and the amount you get is a lot.
Big menu at this Japanese take-out spot, steak hibachi and mixed tempura is my favorite! They also have a good selection of sushi rolls.

This place is newly opened and I couldn’t wait to try it! Boy! they serve some high quality sushi and hibachi at much affordable prices than those expensive Japanese restaurants. Everything is so delicious, especially the signature rolls are impressive! Great food! Great menu! Nice people! Very clean place! Highly recommended!👍👍
Soft opening this week! The food was delicious - I got the hibachi steak and chicken combo, it came with a small side of miso soup and mayo. The inside is really clean and modern, the staff is nice, and the food came out quickly. 10/10 would recommend!
No frills place mostly for takeout, with a few tables for dine in patrons. Chinese owned (they also offer boba on their menu). 10% off the bill during their opening period. The salmon was pretty good, but their rice wasn’t especially good (a little hard). Portion size is about what you’d expect at this price point for takeout sushi (moderate, not small but not super generous either). Would recommend swinging by, especially since there aren’t a lot of sushi places in the area, but it’s definitely not *amazing* sushi by any measure. Edit: would recommend going for their other menu items — their rolls, bentos and other hot foods look pretty reasonable.
I ordered to go and went to my Amtrak train. Opened my meal to find utensils weren’t included in my bag. That seems like basic things to include when an order is fully packaged ready for pickup.
This place a scam! Go elsewhere. The guy on phone always rude. Wants more money to sub noddles for fried rice but the prices on menu are the same. Side of noodles same as side of rice. Full order of noodles you guessed it same as the rice yet when you order hamachi he wants more. He’s rude and his prices are always a different price. Go elsewhere teach them they can’t take advantage of locals. Show them so they are forced to close down.
Not great experience. Stomach felt very bad afterwards. Flies in place made it displeasing to eat in. Also, trust me with the stomach. I’ve eaten so much mid sushi in the past year and I’ve been fine w every place other than this one. Ordered 3 roll special: eel avo, tuna, and salmon avo. Would not recommend.
