What an amazing location. The menu has something for everything. We have enjoyed their normal cuisine like tacos, fajitas and burritos but also try their specials! The pulled pork with pickled onions was unreal! And ask for the owner!!!! He comes around and is super friendly and makes the visit complete.
Top Notch! Service is incredible, food phenomenal, and atmosphere is authentic!! Highly, recommend.
Great service! Great food!
I had gone with family in remembrance of my mother, who had recently passed. The food was excellent; true authentic Mexican cuisine. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. It reminded me of when we had gone many years before to celebrate my father and sister's birthday. Would go again.
This place is absolutely amazing. You must try the clams in the verde sauce and the margarita! Lorena the manager is amazing! Very personable and attentive to everyone! Prices are reasonable. And if you want to have a party, they can accommodate. A must try if you want to have authentic Mexican food!
Really great food, terrific service, and a very delicious margarita made for a great night and wonderful experience. Will absolutely be back again!
We stopped by this spot after driving passed it many times. What a wonderful time! The location could use a bit more lighting... outside of that, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. Our server was AMAZING and did everything possible to ensure we were comfortable. I honestly didn't care for my dish...the manager for the evening came out and offered to exchange the dish and/or pick up the tab on a dessert of choice. Outstanding customer service is clearly their goal! Everything our party of 5 had was fresh. A definite plus! There are a variety of dining options, including vegetarian options. Another plus! The price point was average. For 5 people (one of which was a child), we spent about $135. We would definitely go back!
Came in and was politely greeted by the host, everyone here is so pleasant. We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer and it was just perfect. So was the complimentary tortilla chips (which came nice and warm) and the sauce was delicious. I had the Mayan combo, this was the best choice for me cause it gave me chance to try 3 different dishes in one. The service was fast and everything was great. I recommend this place if you wanna try real authentic Mexican food.
It's one of my favorites! I eat there as much as I can! The food and drink are always great! I've been patronizing this restaurant for more than a decade.
My daughter and I had steak and shrimp tacos with mango margueritas. It was delicious. It is a quaint little place. I was actually pleasantly surprised at how good the food was and prices not to bad. Great service. Highly recommended.
Great service and very attentive staff. Made us feel really comfortable! The food was delicious and generous portions. Highly recommend! A+
This Mexican establishment has all what it takes. A rich decore and plenty of menu items to select from. Vegetarian options included. If you need one, there is a Kids menu as well. The service was fast and friendly. The portions were well sized and the prices were very reasonable. The complementary crispy nachos will keep you nibbling and happy. Currently offering dine according to state regulations. There are additional plastic separators between adjacent booths.
We sat down and had some of the most Delicious beef Nachos. I had the Texas Ribs, yellow rice, Black beans and it was mouth watering, tender and scrumptious!! The Margaritas and Strawberry Mojitos were outstanding!
We visited last night & were a party of eight. From the moment we walked in, all of the staff were very attentive. Food was delicious as always & the margaritas were yummy! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The owner always stop stops by your table to say hello. Love him! We highly recommend this restaurant!
The food was really good and the service was friendly.
It’s a great atmosphere, live music comes on most weekend, the food is fantastic!!! Fajitas are good, but Steak, Oaxaca cheese pepper and onion mix in a GIANT MOLCAJETE is phenomenal!!! Love this spot. Even when crowded,
What an amazing dinning experience. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was exceptional, not only was our server Dee attentive but the entire staff demonstrated a huge attention to detail. I’m honestly blown away. Eat Here. Give them all your business.
Love Maya Fishkill. Always had the dos equis tacos with shrimp and a margarita on the rocks with extra like juice. Brought multiple people here and was able to sample more of the menu. Fajitas a classic. Quesadillas are huge and filling. Guacamole is a must. Outdoor seating is wonderful to catch the sunset. All staff are super friendly and efficient. Masks and gloves everywhere, sanitization is observed.
I love it here. Our server was awesome. (She made a mistake with my order, noticed it right away, apologized and it was made right almost immediately.) Even with that mistake, she still receives rave reviews because of her professionalism! The owner (or his brother) came over to every table just to check in. The bean burrito was really great - I had it w/o cheese or sour cream. The rice was even better. Also, blood orange margaritas was delish! *get the guacamole*
A girlfriend of mine who had been to the Maya Cafe Cantina before several times wanted to treat me to an early Thanksgiving. The owner and I think his wife checked on us twice, as well as our wait staff. The ambience was beautiful. The women's restroom was immaculate, in pink and peach. My girlfriend had a mojito, and liked it so much, she had a second. She and I had fresh guacamole en Molcajete with fresh home made nachos and freshly made salsa. She had Enchilada De Mole Poblano and I had Nachos Maya as our main meals. The food was absolutely fresh and delicious. We waited 15 minutes when we entered at about 5:30 PM and when we left, the waiting room was packed. When we waited, the line moved fast. So, a warning: please come early! We will definitely return!
Came here post a visit to Chuang Yen Monastery. We ordered a whole bunch of food and enjoyed the food very much. The skirt steak was the best, and the tacos lived up to our expectations as well. The service was great. I definitely recommend everyone who come or live nearby to visit Thai restaurant.
Last night we watch a food show about the Maya's and there was of cooking and I saw the how they cook the Cochinita Pibil and shared to try it. So we came to Maya Cafe to try it and I luved it it was so good!! I was so excited I forget to take some pictures of the food. We also had the Guacamole en Molcajete, Ceviche De Camaron Carne Asada, Chile Relleno, Poc-Chuc which were all excellent. We also had the Fried Ice cream and the Bunuel and the kids all had ice cream and luved it!The service was fantastic from the moment we walk in very attentive to our needs and what we wanted and coming back and see if we needed anything else definitely will be going back there again Loved it. The management in this place is excellent well-run restaurant wished more people would take note the gentleman ran it.
The food is excellent, not your run of the mill Americanized Mexican fare. We are in the bar area. Nothing fancy but a great friendly atmosphere. The service was excellent. Everyone in our party of 4 loved their meal. The margheritas were well made and had a nice kick. We will definitely be back.
Great meal and great portion sizes, came on a night with a 3 piece band and they really added to the experience, also thank you Mary for great and friendly service!
On a morning walk with the bestie and her baby, we decided to try Maya Cafe and it did NOT disappoint! Beautiful decor, Maya coffee delish, cardiovascular and slimming juices fresh and tasty. Let me tell you, Fig salad - not a leaf left behind. Locally owned and the artist that has her work on display was painting in the back - super cool. Found my new favorite neighborhood spot!
This restaurant has always been, and continues to be, one of my favorite restaurants in the HV area. The food is delicious, the staff is very attentive without hovering, and are so friendly! I've never had a bad experience here. The atmosphere is perfect for a nice dinner out with your partner or friends. Kids are welcome and there is a kids menu. Cafe Maya is casual enough to be comfortable. They have great music playing over the speakers, but at a very reasonable volume; you can still easily hold a conversation. I would definitely recommend Cafe Maya to anyone looking for a wonderful night out.
Maya Cafe is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Hudson Valley. Every time I visit this beautiful establishment, I am impressed by the quality and taste of the food as well the delicious selection of beverages and the very authentic ambiance.
If you are looking for a place to spice up your taste buds and have a blast, look no further than Maya Café and Cantina in Fishkill Route 9W. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant, this is a fiesta of flavors and fun! From the moment you walk in, you will be greeted by the lively atmosphere and the mouthwatering aroma of authentic Mexican food. The complimentary sauce with chips is excellent, and you can choose from mild, medium, or hot depending on your preference. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from tacos and burritos to enchiladas and fajitas, all made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection. The service is outstanding, and our server Ozzy was very attentive and friendly. He even told us some interesting stories about Maria Sabina, the famous Mexican healer and shaman who introduced psilocybin mushrooms to the world. He also recommended some of the best drinks from the bar, which serves a variety of flavorful drinks, such as margaritas, mojitos, sangrias, and more. The restaurant is kid friendly and they have outdoor seating for those who want to enjoy the fresh air. There is also plenty of parking available, so you don't have to worry about finding a spot. The tables with colorful happy patrons get filled quickly, so get there early or make a reservation. You won't regret it! Maya Café and Cantina is more than just a restaurant, it's an experience. It's a place where you can enjoy delicious food, great drinks, and good vibes. It's a place where you can celebrate life with your friends and family. It's a place where you can have fun! So what are you waiting for? Come to Maya Café and Cantina today and see for yourself why it's the best Mexican restaurant in town!
Great food and vibes. Seating was spacious, decor was beautiful. Had the pineapple guacamole which was made table side! Bf got an amazing pork dish, I got the pollo Oaxaca, just so delicious! We also got drinks, he got a Paloma and I got a Pomegranate frozen margarita. Everything was delicious.
I had a taco special that came with rice and beans. The beans were so delicious and different from what you would normally find served. They were whole beans cooked in a broth that was out of this world! The tacos were so tasty and the service was quick and easy! Unfortunately I didn’t get pictures!
Love this place! Love when they have live music accompanying the amazing food. I love that the owner walks around to say hello to everyone. It just feels like home!
Incredible service from Daniela. She was attentive, friendly, and made great food recommendations. The food was amazing. We got the coconut shrimp and the tres chicken enchiladas. It was juicy, great portions, and very flavorful. For dessert we got the sopapilla and the banana cheesecake. We found our new favorite restaurant!
Have eaten here many times & have never been let down. Excellent service. They are always busy & meals still come out far & hot. They even still give chips & salsa which many Mexican restaurants no longer do. You can even get more upon request. They really know how to run a business.
Friendly staff. I ordered the carne asada entree. The portion was generous. The salad was fresh. The steak was flavorful. I enjoyed the sauce. It has a little heat in it. My tortillas were not warm but taste good. The menu is vast. I need to come back and check out the breakfast menu.
The Mayan Café is a quality place for lunch, dinner, or watching a game. It's busy however the parking is plentiful like the chips. And the stafe is equipped for high volume or larger parties. The offset bar area is comfortable and casual. The food is on point, flavorful, & prompt. It's clean and the bathrooms are maintained. Chef's Specials and the Weekly Special menu are a must for the bold looking for new and fun flavor profiles from Central America. I didn't say spicy, ask for the homemade Habanero sauce for kick, just bold unique flavors I would consider to be savory and rustic. Save room for dessert!
This place is so cool, I highly recommend it. Stopped by here on our way to camp. I had a mango Margarita, tacos pibil which comes with rice and black beans. It was on the lunch menu which has a great selection. The chips and salsa were very good. The owner is so lovely and she came up to us to check on us and I felt very welcomed. The decor reminds me of my nanitas house in Mexico and the food is authentic with food made with love. The bathrooms are clean top which I always check wherever I go. There's a bar too, I included everything in my pictures and video.
Kind, attentive staff. welcoming ambiance. The food was delicious and was served quickly. The house made salsa was unique. The manager/owner came over and ask if we need anything. My order was delicious. Fish, shrimp and other fillings are nicely cut in small pieces. It tastes excellent.
Absolutely amazing. Where to begin; well the ambiance is so fitting and so beautiful. You will see yourself this is the right place since there walls are adorned with rewarding recognition in many news papers on the wall. We had a beautiful waitress who was perfect and the service is so accommodating. The food is out of this world;my boyfriend and I both strongly agree we felt some dishes are even better than dishes we had in Mexico. I had the the Mexico City Tacos ( phenomenal) and my boyfriend had the Cubano tacos and we washed this down with the Bloody Maria, hands down best bloody Mary. Definitely visit this spot if you're looking for amazing Mexican dishes and great drinks and company.

We took a group of people there and really enjoyed it. We are very used to Mexican food having traveled extensively in Mexico and also now live in San Diego. Mexican food is hard to be in San Diego this place came pretty close. Even though we had a very large group took excellent care of us. We especially liked the fajitas in a couple of our people hadn't had them before and says that will be there go to dish from now on. The service there was amazing it seem like every two minutes someone was by asking if we something. I highly recommend this place like to take some pictures unfortunately the battery died did not come out.
Wonderful, festive atmosphere. Great food, but super smoky..can be a little much with the smoke from the cooking and serving-only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5, but Great Service and engagement! The owner is so humble and hands-on, he picked up my friend’s plate when he was done eating. I never witnessed that anywhere before. They make sure you’re having a good time!
Honestly, the food was mid and sometimes baffling (like the ceviche with no liquid at all). It was also a little expensive. But the service was incredible. We were a large party of 19. They quickly got our tables together and seated us, attended to all our needs, and kept our drinks refilled. We were very pleased with the service.
Food was good. A little high priced, but I guess you pay for the authenticity. Food came out quick. Except for one dish in our party of 3. Theirs came out after two of us finished eating. He should have been discounted or something. Just a sorry though. All in all not bad though. I liked the sour cream enchiladas. And my food came our fast! 😆
Great local spot in Fishkill for Mexican. There is usually live outdoor music which is always great with drinks and a meal. Staff was friendly and the place well kept for the most part. Food was delicious and the home made spicy sauce is a must. A drawback is presentation is not the best on the main entrees and there is a lack of descriptions on the dishes on the menu so the customer has insufficient information to make a good order choice. There was an old guy walking around asking the infamous “how is everything?” We said fine but had not the slightest idea who the heck he is. Let’s be honest here, if your not gonna introduce yourself prior to asking how is everything then your gonna get a very meh response. I’d definitely visit again though.
Always a great meal. Good food, excellent service and awesome Margaritas! We live out of this area but when passing through we always make a stop. This week we rerouted our trip home so we could drop in. This trip I had the Steak Quesadilla appetizer - delicious and enough to satisfy me for lunch. Easy on / off I-84 at Route 9 - well worth it.
Fun place, very festive. Waitstaff was great, very attentive. Plus no problem getting separate checks for our party of 8. My dish was a tad too salty for my taste, otherwise would have given 5 stars. Would definitely go back.
Nice place and centrally located right off the highway. The decor is typical but is nice. The restaurant itself is cozy and there is plenty of parking. We were seated promptly and the server came over right away even though it was a busier night. The guac was very tasty and the entrees were well seasoned and delicious. We didn't have dessert because there was just no room left ! Nice meal at a fair price

I ordered take out. The guacamole and chips and the adobo pork dish. Delicious! And the take out staff were friendly and helpful
Service was good but food wasn't that great. Definitely not authentic mexican food it was more of a Texmex combination

Needed some Mexican. Great service. Excellent margaritas. Excellent chicken tacos. Some of the best I've had. Musician playing in bar. Good choice.
As it is with most restaurants today, the food was expensive and average. I got the taco special. For some reason they put 2 fajita wraps around each taco, leading to a very dough like consistency. I eventually took off the 2nd wrap but for $25 it was highway robbery. Good chips/guacamole but other than that, expensive and average at best. I will say the waiter was good, food came out fast and they clearly want customers to have a good experience
Originally from New York we happened to be in the area touring colleges. When we arrived at the hotel we asked for a local place to eat that serves great food She recommended here. If this is what passes for great food in the area it was not horrible but not awesome. The chicken we had did not empatt a lot of flavor, nor did it contain much moisture. The service was excellent but that's about it. I don't know if I'm being unfair because I am comparing it to Long Island places but still this was not a favorite of ours.

firstly, this is NOT a Mexican food restaurant. This genuinely so so far from authentic mexican food, other than the chips and salsa (which was good). secondly, DONT go here if you have any dietary restrictions or are slightly picky because they don’t list half of the things they toss into the food on the menu. yes they remake it with no problem if you ask them to, but and no, they don’t reduce the amount it costs. speaking of cost.. SO SO SO OVERPRICED!!! not worth it at all. I was barely able to eat anything because of the pure amount of GREACE in this food, absolutely disgusting amount and i got tacos?? like?? speaking of tacos, REAL MEXICAN TACOS DONT HAVE CHEESE. that would be a quesadilla!! and yes that’s one of the parts they don’t specify having in your meal on the menu. Finally, the absolutely rushed us out. they put leftover boxes on our table before we finished a few bites (not that i was able to eat more than a few bites). The best part was the live music thursday. the musicians playing were great, but they also played no spanish music. just “dad” music, very divorced dad energy in the whole restaurant.
I have been here several times a year since 2014 sitting in the bar area as service is usually quicker. It has always been a staple in our family since my daughter’s college years but this change has changed my thoughts to find a new go to spot when over that way. Today we sat in the Dining area. The service & food was good except for the young man whom a friend asked about the location of the bathroom. First he asked in English for the bathroom, then in Spanish for El Bano, then the service asked for him to speak in English… again the friend asked for the bathroom, then the men’s room. Again the server stated “English please” , I then asked “que El Bano” & the server points to the rear of the restaurant. Really! Then after our meal came the bill… there was an up-charge to use a Discover Credit charge card & an additional charge for grilled chicken in the Taco salad; which in the menu gave a choice of beef or chicken. I was so disappointed in the up-charge for the Discover Card that I deducted that cost from the tip. Not sure if the server or establishment will recognize this as purposeful or not but I felt the need to make a statement & this establishment seems to want to hit our wallets so I figured what is good for the goose is good for the gander; if they can’t keep help; the establishment should be looking at why… by the way, this was a lunch bill for 2 people!!!!
This used to be a local favorite. Something has changed. Food quality is down the last couple of times we've been. Half empty restaurant that used to be packed on weekends. We won't be back sadly.
Okay let me begin by saying our sons were so excited to take us for dinner. They visited your restaurant earlier and had a wonderful meal. We waited 15 minutes as explained when we arrived. We received chips and salsa and placed our order. We ordered nachos and 4 entrees. We received the nachos after 20 minutes and they were warm and fresh. As we finished our nachos we were expecting our entrees shortly. After no communication from any staff we approached the manager. She explained the computer system went down in the kitchen and she apologized for the delay explaining the kitchen staff was unable to process hand written orders. She offered no compensation just asked for more understanding. It was an hour before we received our meals. They were cold and they obviously were rushed. We understand things happen but communication could have resolved this disaster of an evening.
Seated, not busy. Waited 10 min. 4 different servers looked at me in the eyes and no one came over. Called one and was completely ignored.
There was a time when this was the best Mexican restaurant around. It is no longer. The past few experiences have been awful. My friend and I both ordered frozen margaritas and both of them were at least quarter of the way melted. The restaurant was not full, so it is not like they were sitting at the bar. My friends meal? He took two bites of it and couldn’t even eat anymore. I told him to send it back. But, he didn’t want to make any waves since we have both known the owner for over 30 years. My meal was definitely not as good as it used to be, either. The restaurant is not as clean as it used to be, either. Everything is sticky and smelly. It used to be the best place to go for Cinco de Mayo, as well. Even that has gone downhill. However, the owner’s sister now works there, as well. She is phony and a liar. The turnover with the waiters and waitresses is ridiculous. There are literally only two employees who I recognized that have stayed the same for many years; One being a bartender and one being a waiter. They are great. (Miguel and Rosalie) I don’t know how they do it and how they have managed to stay there that long. Luis Pinto has been wanting to retire for many years. Things have not been the same since the loss of his brother, Ruben. (RIP) or since the manager, Al, left. Unfortunately, things are going downhill for Maya Cafe and they are going downhill… FAST!! But, that’s OK because there are so many new Mexican restaurants to try out. I was a faithful and loyal customer, but no longer. I cringe when I even walk in there as nobody even knows how to smile, anymore. It’s really sad. ☹️ I can only end by saying that at least I have wonderful memories from when it was the most amazing Mexican restaurant; probably in all of Dutchess County. Unfortunately, I cannot say that anymore… At all! I will not spend my hard earned money there… Or my friend’s hard earned money on a restaurant that is pretty much run by a woman who does not know how to treat people; that being the sister. Luis is barely there anymore. My family, friends and I were loyal and faithful to Luis for over 30 years. I’m sorry to see this happening. everything used to be so beautiful and you could tell how much love and effort was put in to this establishment. Now, it’s falling apart.😢
We ordered the Tacos Barbacoa platter. Pretty decent salsa, but the chips were overcooked and harder than normal. The tacos damn near made me 🤢 vomit out both ends! I struggled for 15 minutes to eat my first taco. Why? Because it took me 15 minutes to pick the damn fat out! I thought it was shredded beef not whale blubber! The spices used were pretty damn disgusting. I could not even look at the 2nd taco. I tried the cilantro rice and I don't have the words to describe it....gross. I will say the service is very good. The manager is very nice and the waiter was very good. A+ on service. F- on the food I tried. If I go again, I will try a different item on the menu.
Food was fine , staff was so bad !!!!! Need help in hospitality , bartender coughed on my drink , didn’t ask for any more drinks
Whoever owns this restaurant has got to update the website when they close. I drove 45 minutes for dinner because google says it's open, but I get here and all there is a sign saying it's closed. This has happened multiple times, and it's getting annoying
Cafe Maya deserves negative 5 stars. I ordered the street corn for $7.95 (wayyy over priced for 1 corn). I asked for a refund due to the corn being burnt and all the toppings not on the corn. The manager agreed the corn was not up to standard, but refused to refund my money. She told me to dispute the charge on my card. Terrible business service. She didn’t even offer to replace the order.
Inviting a friend there yesterday they noticed as well. The waitress ignored me as I was the first to set up four tables. The owner wasn’t there and I ordered Guacamole for myself I had the worst stomach pains all night. I will never eat there or ask anyone to join me there again this isn’t the first time I’ve given them another chance.
65$ ! Here js my experiance with Maya Cafe I ordered for to go Carne Asada plate and Chimichangas (no beans) I've been everywhere and love mexican food, unfortunately this place disappointed me a lot, Chimichangas were not soft and topped in chese, no sallad just a small cup of guacamole, only the stake was solid, i am always honest so take this opinion seriously Not to mention 55$ for this and i left 20% tip as always. I didn't the price because i always just order and later pay at pick up, I don't mind, i will pay 100bucks just to eat good, this is not that!
The chips and salsa were good. Ordered empanadas for kiddo, and the shrimp tacos for myself. The empanadas were not what we were typically used to, and my son did not care for them. We are used to the larger ones with filling, and these were smaller sized empanadas. My daughter liked the shrimp from my tacos (I found the tacos okay, shrimp small), so I ordered her some shrimp (5 small ones to be exact); which we were charged a whole order of tacos for (nearly $20). For the quantity of shrimp, I would have hoped to not be charged the full cost of the taco dinner, which I was. For the cost (close to $100), I never plan to return.
