We were so caught up enjoying New York that we forgot to put in a reso for our Thanksgiving dinner. We went in, they accomodated us, warm welcome, friendly smiles. We found Brooklyn Diner to be quite the special place. Our waiter, Josh and the rest of the staff made sure our orders came in time. Must try - the Pastrami on Rye, Old Fashioned, the Strawberry Cheesecake. We had a great and memorable time!
Love this place and I keep going back! It's busy during peak lunch times but 2pm onwards, the crowd thins out. Excellent service every time, great food every time. For my vegetarian friends, note that bloody Mary comes with a bacon. I've tried their chicken pot pie (a must), cheese burger, French toast, and Korean style chicken sandwich so far (yes, I love it here), and they were all delicious. Strongly recommend if you want the diner vibes in the city.
So happy to find this diner near our hotel. Had a great breakfast with my family. Big portions, excellent service. Special thanks to Mr Yusuf . Herşey içün teşekkür ederiz
This Brooklyn Diner was only a block from our hotel. We liked the 43rd Street location, so we decided to try this location for lunch. It was a comfortable place to eat. We were seated quickly in a booth for two. Guillermo M. was our wait staff, and he was nice & efficient. I got the chicken pot pie. It was huge and I was stuffed by the time I finished it. It was so good! Husband got a pastrami sandwich. It was not as big as my pot pie, but it was just the right size for him. He was pleasantly full after eating this delicious sandwich. He didn’t eat the slaw. He forgot that it was vinegar based & to him it was bitter. We will be back when we visit New York as we’d like to try more items from the menu!
Brooklyn Diner was the perfect ending to an already wonderful trip back to NYC. From the moment we walked in, the service was extraordinary—especially from Jason and Genevieve, the host and hostess, who welcomed us with such warmth and enthusiasm, we felt like family. Their kindness and care went far beyond great service; it felt personal and heartfelt. In a city full of memorable places, the Brooklyn Diner stood out. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was outstanding. We left smiling, full, and grateful for such a beautiful experience. We can’t wait to return.
This was our first stop to eat once we landed in NYC. I must start by saying Xavier was our waiter and he was PHENOMENAL, very attentive, our drinks were always full and made sure we had everything we needed. If more waiters and waitresses were like him the world would be a better place. I asked what he recommended and he knew everything on the menu. I went with the 15 bite hotdog. Hotdog is my first go to everytime I come to NYC. The food came out fast, hot and perfectly cooked. The restaurant was super busy but, all the staff was rocking and rolling, getting things done and making sure everyone was taken care of. I highly recommend eating here if your ever in Manhattan. This is a must go to spot. Thank you Xavier for being an amazing person.
On November 29th, my family, and I went to Brooklyn Diner. We went to celebrate my younger sister’s 20th birthday. Our waiter was Josh (Joshua). He was very attentive and nice to us. I got a Backyard BBQ Burger with fries, coleslaw, and apple pie. Sprite and water were on the side. I loved my food and so did my family. The bathrooms were both clean. My only complaint was on the space. It gets a bit tight there, especially around 6 PM - 8 PM. Also, if you’re near the kitchen. Expect to get hit by waiters passing by. Either way, we plan to go back to eat there. P.S. - Thank you for singing happy birthday to my little sister. We truly appreciated it.
We went to the Brooklyn Diner on 57th Street for breakfast, and honestly, the experience started the moment we walked in. There was a superman of hospitality standing right at the door greeting everyone with the warmest welcome. A few minutes later we learned he’s actually the manager—no wonder the place feels like such a gem. We ordered the French toast and the pancakes, and both were absolutely awesome. Perfectly done, super flavorful, and honestly some of the best diner breakfast plates we’ve had in the city. The menu has so many other things that caught our eye, so we’re already planning to go back and try everything else. Highly recommended!
A great diner near Central Park! Close enough to Broadway, but far enough to have a little less people to deal with! I ordered the 15 bite hotdog which was AMAZING! Definitely a fork and knife dog, but well worth it! My wife had the waffle grilled cheese, and I might have to say it’s the best I’ve had! They served it with syrup, which is how I’ve eaten grilled cheese since I was a child!! A must try if you haven’t!
My fiancé and I saw this diner as we were walking down the street looking for something to eat. Right when we came in they were busy, but had us seated immediately. The waiter was really nice and so was really all of the employees! The guy cleaning the tables noticed I got ketchup on my jacket and gave me a wet wipe to clean it off which is really unexpected and so nice of him. Our waiter was working his butt off running around and attending to the multiple tables he had, but every time he passed by us he checked to make sure we were okay. We went on 10/24 around 6:30-6:40pm. My fiancé got the BBQ burger and I got the teriyaki salmon and we swear that was the best food we’ve ever eaten.
The service was amazing! We had a bad experience at the cafe across the street and our waiter Ralphy made our experience 100/10!

We wanted to eat at a diner in NYC and we found Brooklyn Diner in Manhattan on 57th street. This diner looks like most diners in NY/NJ, it was a little small and crowded. The seating is a little tight and there was a wait but we did enjoy ourselves. We ordered their specialty, the Golden Puff pastry which was pretty big and tasty. We also had a ruben sandwich which was also good. The cheeseburger was not bad and the boneless buffalo wings were just ok. The service was good and friendly. The prices were high but it’s Manhattan so not unexpected. If you like diners or want to try one in NY this is a good option.
My husband was so excited to go here to have the Korean spicy chicken. Unfortunately, it was made incorrectly and the fries were cold. My meal was great! I had the sesame salmon and cotton candy shake. Would highly recommend. The manager addressed the meal complaint in an acceptable manner.

We went here for breakfast because the place we really enjoy is across the street but the line was out the door and we were hungry. It is a very authentic Brooklyn diner and you feel it when you're in there. The service is decent and the food was decent, but very overpriced. I paid over $100 for 2 waffles and the NY breakfast. Double the price for neighboring restaurants, for half the food and a quarter of the quality.

We don't like posting negative reviews because there is so much negativity out there. But we do post honest reviews. Honestly, Brooklyn Diner is lacking in most aspects. The service was middling at best. We got half our order and had to re-order the rest when it never showed up. Even for NYC, the prices are high. We've been to several diners in the city, and this one is the most expensive one we've visited so far. The portions are disappointing, especially given the pricing. I can only attribute this to the location of the diner. The decor is fine and sets the tone. I do like the butt sculpture near the restrooms. You can sit inside or outside (covered). We do enjoy diners and sit-down eateries in New York City. They each have their own personalities and idiosyncrasies. Diners are as much a part of the city as Broadway and taxi cabs. Sometimes they work out, and sometimes they don't.
Terrible place. The food is quite good, but the prices are extremely high (for example, two of us paid $71 for breakfast). The worst part, however, are the waiters: they're very polite at first, bu…
