They have the BEST Kolaches ever!!! They make a dough that is flaky on the top and light, fluffy in the middle very similar to a Brioche bread. I always get the Jalepeno cheese kolache. Also, don't forget to grab dozen of doughnuts! My coworkers will argue for the last cinnamon crunch doughnut! The cake doughnut with chocolate icing is my favorite!

The gentleman behind the counter (you know who you are: poor, misguided Lakers fan 😆) was super nice and very personable. He made the visit fun and just left us feeling good after our visit. Thanks!!!

So I don’t live in Hondo and I was coming here early in the morning to go to take care of some business and I got hungry. My husband and I decided to go through the drive-through of a donut shop. Oh my God it is the best croissant sandwich I have had in any kind of setting except for the one that we make it home. The bread is phenomenal. It was warm. It was fresh. It smelled good 100% worth every single penny and they are huge.

OMG this place has the best and freshest doughnuts I've ever had and I've had plenty. Staff were great. Definitely worth the stop anytime you're nearby. Even worth a road trip. I've gone a few times from San Antonio just to get some doughnuts. Sorry krispy kreme doesn't have nothing on this place. Love the fact you can chose what filling you want and they do it in front of you. Love the cream filling but the strawberry is great too.

Tried this place after dropping cat off at Hondo vet. Great pastries and donuts, also kolachies are great.

It was good, noting spectacular. I did not find the kolachi to have any jalapeño flavor, since the only kolachis they seem to offer are jalapeño. I also got donuts and an apple fritter, they were ok. I guess bring the only donut shop in town, one has to be glad they are there.

They open at 5am but have very few donuts available at that time. For being a donut palace, there was a lack of donuts. Biscuit sandwhich is not in fact a biscuit but a bun. Quite disappointing.

I use to love the donuts here in Hondo. But lately I have been going to Castroville to buy them. The donuts in Hondo are now terrible. They are not round. They are heavy as a rock. And they are overcooked. Common Donut Palace. You guys can do better.

We recently went and got kalaches from here...regular and jalapeño. They labeled the boxes as so yet come to find out they where miss labeled causing my 1 yr old to have an allergic reaction and break out with hives! We loved coming here but don't label the boxes if you don't know what your putting in it! It could have been a lot more serious than it was!
