I fully love the atmosphere here, I was able to watch the game. There were several TVS around for me and my family to consume! The Texans were playing the Colts , and I was able to watch my other favorite team play 49ers. This is a great place to go with your family, your friends, your kids anyone can go here and have a great time. It's great for corporate events. I recommend this place to go and have a great time.
Woo go Coogs! Honestly, we were driving around downtown and we pulled into the spot and it was awesome! The bartender was super friendly and so is everybody else around! Now mind you, we are a little bit older, but everybody still was very friendly and very nice! I had the brisket nachos. My husband had the chicken tacos and both were delicious. They had great drink options and a very cozy little atmosphere! Naturally, U of H was gonna win no doubt about that but right when it hit 7 o’clock that place was wall-to-wall packed! Will definitely be back again!
The food is much better than it has any right to be. Since this is a college restaurant, pub type place, I wasn't expecting much. Most places like this don't feel the need to try. The food usually only has to he adequate because hungry coege kids will show up regardless. That is NOT what's going on here. It's very clear that these guys take pride in their food. And it's often the small things. The texture, flavor, crust of the bread for their sandwiches for instance, excellent. Everything was really good. I especially want to point out the fries. Most places have mom's of the same fries, but the fries here are very different. In a Great way. Fries, good fries are supposed to have the right amount of the following qualities - Salty, crispness on the outside, softness on the inside, the subtle sweetness from the Maillard reaction and the flavor you can only get from good potatoes. They UNDERSTOOD the assignment. Some of the best fries I've ever had and I don't even like fries that much! The food, the prices, all great. Mr Chucho who waited on us was superb. Attentive, courteous, humorous and personable. Don't dismiss this place for what it seems to be. Give it a try. You'll likely be amazed.
Stop in, here for a WVU game, great food and service.
Nice on campus bar so expect student age crowd of course. Multiple screens for sports viewing, a full service bar with good drinks that include variety of frozen Margaritas and happy hour specials. Unfortunately the burgers were microwaved so I won't do that again but there are other menu options I may try.
Absolutely AMAZING food for an amazing price plus they actually know their drinks. This is a proper bar which is surprising for on campus establishments. This BBQ cheddar burger is to die for honestly, I'm getting that happy dances right now.
Love this little lowkey hang out spot! I visited it with a friend and it was the epitome of little bar & a bite spot! They have daily specials-- i was skeptical but oooh them sunday brunch tacos were simple and delicious! It was clean, staff was chill but not lazy, and all round just a nice hang out joint!
Enjoyed this bar and the service was good. Thank you for the food. Hope to take more soon.
Their menu is right, these wings are AMAAAAZING!! I didn't get a picture because they were gone so soon, so the picture is just fries. I got the traditional (bone in) wings, BBQ, wow steaming hot and delicious. The menu says you can get 5, 10 or 15, and I got just 5 with fries, and they gave me 6 😊 the fries are really good too! They're flat, so they're crispy but still soft inside. The ranch was thiccc and deliciuos too. We went in a Tuesday when they have a happy hour for long island iced teas and buffalo chicken sandwiches and YES those are DELICIOUS TOO! The buffalo sauce they use is a little spicier than compared to, say, Pluckers buffalo. They were also gone before I could get a picture haha I will say that the service is nothing exceptional, but nothing bad which is fine with me! Dietary things: There's nothing marked as gluten free on the menu, and I asked if there were gf options and they said no. They have "crispy or grilled" options for chicken sandwiches so they could probably make something grilled without the bun and without cheese if you need to avoid dairy. I'm not allergic, just sensitive to a lot of things, and I ended up getting the bone in wings and fries. Will update later if that hurts me!

I had a wonderful time The food was great, but what really made our visit special was Lauta. She was friendly, quick, and super thoughtful.
Great campus bar to have a few reasonably-priced libations before a game. Go Coogs!
It has been my pregame hangout at U of H for years. Wings are to kill for. Great staff!
I look forward to exploring more of their menu options. I barely ordered tinders and fries and I was blown away by the simplicity mixed with a lively atmosphere and matching an ambiance that just worked. Even though I took mines to go the experience stuck with me. The price wasn’t anywhere as high as I presumed it would be. #iloveit
Food and drinks were delicious and affordable! Service was a BIT lacking but it was a busy Friday night on halloween so im willing to cut some slack there. Inside was absolutely standard for a bar, no theme or flare which I dont really care about. Their Irish nachos were tasty!

The Den is the perfect place to relax and have a drink after a stressful day of finals and classes. Perfect for any UH student! It can get a little crowded somedays but overall the vibe is great, the food is delicious and you're in for an amazing time.
The Den is a great place to grab a bite near campus. The food is consistently good, and they have a great selection of drinks. It's a very popular spot, so it can get pretty crowded, especially on weekends and in the evenings. This is great for the atmosphere, but it can also make it a little noisy and hard to find a table. Overall, it’s a fun place to hang out with friends and get a solid meal.

The bartenders are friendly and there’s a few parking spots, but, unfortunately, The Den doesn’t have much to else to offer. 🤷🏼♂️ Visited after a Houston Cougars basketball game. Seemed to be a lot of regulars and college students here enjoying themselves, it’s not the sports bar vibe we expected. At 5pm on a Saturday with rap music blaring it’s more like a pregame spot for UH students to hit up before going downtown. 🕺🏼

Just left about 30 min ago, Cool place, food was awesome, server was horrible. She barely greeted us when we walked in, did not have any type of welcoming attitude. Our son attends Houston and is in the band, so for us and I’m sure everyone else on campus, should be in an awesome mood after lasts night win. She killed the vibe as soon as she spoke. Someone else walked in as we were sitting down, and she was completely different with how she greeted them. I understand that she might knew them but it was very obvious that she made a choice to be how she was being towards us. Either way I would go back but just ask for a different server, not really sure what her name is but she knows. Go coogs !!!!
I’m a regular here & been coming here for years now. Yesterday I had a terrible experience due to one of the bartenders trying to steal from me thinking I was too much under the influence. I knew exactly how many drinks I had & when I reviewed my receipt, I got charged an extra $13 for cigarettes that I didn’t even know they sold. When I confronted the new bartender he told me he reversed the charge but then again, recharged me. This has never happened to me out of all my years coming here & I feel as if he tried to get me to pay for something that he wanted. If my money isn’t back on my card by Monday, I will be going back to speak to the manager. May I add that he usually works in the kitchen so why he was in the front I have no idea. 0/10 experience & they’ll never get my money again.
I used to LOVE The Den! Myself and my coworkers frequent this establishment quite often and the service has always been great and food pretty good for bar food, but I think recently something has changed. Apparently there is a new owner/manager and he does not acknowledge his clientele AT ALL! He will walk right past you and not even say "Hello, or thank you" NOTHING! Not only once, but every time we are there he does not even look our way! Not just us either. Guess what, WE are UH Employees! You would think he would show appreciation for our support, but we get NOTHING AT ALL! This is SAD, the food is decent...could be better, the atmosphere is pretty good, but mostly when he is not there it's much better. We just want some type of appreciation for our business because there are so many other choices where we could take our hard earn dollars. Note: The Regular Guys there are Wonderful and very accommodating, they are the Bomb! The Owner, Do better please!

I used to love coming here, unfortunately customer service is not a thing at the den anymore. There was a rude bartender (curly black hair) who ignored me and my group of friends for a while and when one us asked if we’re even standing where we should to order she snapped at her and proceeded to make our drinks, leave them and walk away without saying a word.
