Delicious food, but customer service can definitely improve, especially from the men working there. The lady working the register is very nice.
Not bad! Lunch special was $8 and generous, everything cooked well. Wish they had brown rice, not sure why that's not a thing in this area. Would return.
I've been coming here for years. The service is awesome and the food is amazing! The Beef and broccoli is the best
Great Chinese cuisine at a pretty reasonable price; the Szechuan fare is pretty tame, but that's what you get when it's been toned down for the average American taste for hot/spicy food.
I grew up getting take out from here in the 2000s and now am living in Flushing, NY surrounded by Chinese food. Ling Ling is really good and I miss their food when I try a lot of the places around me now.
This place is hands down the best Chinese food joint in the area. I'll never go anywhere else for Chinese, only Ling Ling! Really good food!
It is the only place in town that makes general tso's extra spicy (if requested). Also, they don't serve that nasty "yellow" fried rice .
Best Chinese food I've ever had. I normally get the sweet and sour chicken a few pork egg rolls and the rice comes with it. They are all amazing and so delicious and you won't find that great quality at any chinese place anywhere in my opinion. Well done!
This is my favorite place to get Chinese takeout in Ithaca. I almost never write reviews but when I saw the mixed reviews for Ling Ling's I had to chime in! This is a pretty simple place that functions mainly for takeout (I think there are only two tables)- there's usually just one person at the front desk and you can see right into the kitchen. The food is always delicious, they are super fast, and super nice. I wonder if people are confusing this location with the one on Pine Tree Rd? Maybe that one isn't as good. But this one is awesome.
I feel like alot of these bad reviews are people that mistake this ling lings and the other one. For one you can see them cook the food as the kitchen is in full open view behind the counter. Ive never seen anyone other than the same 3 people working there with a female always behind the counter so im not sure who this david another person refers too.. and seeing as they literally only take your order at the counter and then make your food I find it hard to believe anyone has a bad experience with that. Anyway the food has always been fantastic in my opinion being far better than youll ever find at some cheap buffet. Ive never once got sick from there and have ordered atleast 20+ times over the last few years. Service has always been fast and courteous Highly recomended
Order from here weekly. Only disappointed during our weekday visit the weekends have never been an issue. Different chefs I'm assuming. Egg rolls are yummy.
Best American style Chinese takeout in Ithaca. I love their chicken and broccoli, egg rolls, and wonton soup. Well run counter service. Can eat in or take out.
I have been here many times and the food has always been amazing. They have a good menu with great options, all of which are delicious. I will definitely come here much more in the future.
I stopped in here for dinner. I ordered the orange chicken with white rice. The staff was very attentive and polite. The food was very good and super fresh. I am very satisfied with the food and service at this establishment.

My family and I have been enjoying the Garlic Tofu here for as long as I can remember, and it’s always been a favorite. I highly recommend it, as I don’t know any other place in Ithaca that prepares Chinese tofu as well. I also enjoy their Hot and Sour Soup (note that it's not vegetarian). While I haven’t explored the full menu, the dishes I regularly order are always delicious and well-prepared. I’m not sure why some people expect a gourmet experience here—what you see is what you get. It’s the perfect spot for take-out, and the staff is friendly and low-key.
We just moved to this location and was looking for Asian market and came across this little gem of a store the workers were very friendly and didn't have a problem helping us find what we were looking for this is a smaller store but had almost everything we needed
Great food, awesome pork fried rice.
The food here has been consistently very good over several years. Service is quick and friendly. Their steamed dumplings are the BEST ! Servings are ample and can be changed a bit when asked. The food is PR e pared while you wait. Usually about 10 minutes. Prices are very reasonable. Our favorite Chinese!#
The food is excellent. The quantities are worth the money charged. Most importantly, they are sweet and helpful and fast. Where I'm from 2.5 hours away, it seems every Chinese restaurant has rude, stone faced, miserable workers /owners. It's nice to come to Ling Ling and experience the opposite.
A really decent take out place with the fattest dumplings in Ithaca.

The "boneless" anything was fully boned and not very good, it was packed and the service seemed frightened of us. Other than that it was great!
Food is good. The lo mein is different than it used to be.
Decent, dependable Chinese takeout. I live nearby and we're there a couple times a month. They are quick and the food is always pretty good. It's not the best in the world, but it's way better than a lot of takeout places.
Wish there were more options that weren't spicy also food is slightly pricey. Overall not bad. The food is good and they are fast and consistently good.
This is a great neighborhood take out. Good food. They don't let you wait to long and they have a good location. I go there often.
The food is great,it's always hot,and your wait till is usually no more the 15min, and David the owner is always very friendly
I have been eating here for decades. The Eggplant in Garlic Sauce is always fresh and bright purple, and the oil they use tastes fresh, not stale. The dishes are solid and unimaginative, but reliably tasty. The staff is friendly and accommodating. There is NO ambiance, so if that matters, you're better off doing takeout.
Usually a 10-15 minute wait for our order. We are usually satisfied but wish they would cook the broccoli a bit longer. This time it seemed like we got more vegetable and less entree, but their food is always good.
Yes, it's American Chinese. No spectacular dishes, but the food is fresh and tasty. Staff is polite, friendly and helpful. My niece from Missouri said, "I didn't know Chinese food could taste this good". She (13) and my nephew (9) finished all their food with gusto and wanted more. Prices are very reasonable.

Asked for limes/lemons for my soup. Dude begrudgingly hands me a couple thin slices of an orange. Overall an ok Chinese food place not overly expensive.
First chinese spot that ever told me no to upgrading from fried rice to Lo mein in a combo. Also "fried rice" is white rice with vegetables in it lol. General tso chicken was good though.
I got their general chicken with fried rice. Pretty good. Their crab rangoon is good but nothin special.
Crab Rangoon was too well done almost broke a tooth biting into it. Did not taste right, threw them away.
Can’t lie!!! Best sesame seed chicken. And I love the rice. However there prices are getting Higher and higher. It use to be $9.47 for a dinner combo, then it went to $10:57 now it’s like 12.something . The combination platters supposed to be a deal. Same thing with Thai express. There dinner prices for the food vs portions don’t ad up. Prices need to drop. Like $7.95 for a dinner combo is a good price. Even $8.95 but that’s it.

Been going to Ling Ling for 20 years. For the past year plus we've gone to Spicy Asian. Tonight, Spicy Asian was closed and tried Ling Ling again. Very plan Chicken Fried Rice. Seems like white rice with boiled chicken bits. The General Tso's chicken was not spicy at all. Egg Roll was good. I hope Ling Ling will see this and improve the cooking of their food.
I eat here regulary. Generally very pleased and i will continue to be a customer. Very nice people, kind. My only complaint is that food is inconsistent. Maybe depends on cook and style of cooking. Sometimes tender sometimes seems to be microwaved?? Chicken gets tougher when microwaved and really changed enjoyment of food. Prices reasonable IF food consistently pleasant to eat in mouth and flavorful.
Veggie lo mein and broccoli and garlic sauce were pretty good but the veggie fried rice was the worst i have ever had. I will never order it again. There has to be a better chinese restaurant than this in town

I just had the worst experience at Ling Ling w/ a man named, 'David.' I think he said that he is the owner. David charged my Visa card for $21.01 over the phone, and then refused to give my son his food when he went in to get it, in spite of the fact, after many phone calls, that the bank printed out a statement showing that Ling Ling had removed the money from my account, and my son showed it to them! And,in spite of the fact that IPD even came to try to straighten it out.and saw the documentation! So, now, my bank (Citizen's) is advising me to start fraud procedures! ...And, still no food for my son! I have been a customer there for more than 20 years, and have recommended Ling Ling to other people! IPD recommended that we take our business elsewhere, and I certainly will! Eating out should be convenient and pleasurable, not a HUGE hassle, where customers end up getting ripped off and treated poorly! I made numerous phone calls, back and forth...this is NOT how I had planned to spend my evening. If you buy food here, do not trust them w/ your credit card information! Essentially, they stole money from me!
Worst food I have ever had; I ordered chicken fried rice but got pork fried rice that was dry and not fully cooked. The person who took order was very impatient and seemed irritable! Would suggest going to get Chinese food in another town before bothering with the worst Ling Ling in NY!
Family member paid cash. Was due some change a few dollars. Was not given change was advised that was the tip. Inappropriate to refuse to give change due. Tips are a choice.
The food is often tasteless or gross, the wait staff is unfriendly. Nothing tastes even semi fresh. We used to always order from here, it's gone way down hill. If you are close to Dryden go to Golden City, it's way better.
I ordered the lunch special pork lo mein. The rice was terrible. No flavor and dry. The lo mein was passable, but had an odd flavor so I ate it until I found a hair in it. Disappointing since I have heard good things about Ling Ling.
Everytime I go here and use my debit card the always charge me more that what my receipt says. I even left a 2$ cash tip. My order was $40.28 and my bank statement says I was charged 48.34
My husband got pork fried rice and I got General Tsos chicken. The rice is so pale there's no way it's fried. The pork had no flavor in the rice. My chicken barely tasted like anything at all. This was our first and will be our last time trying this.
I just ordered curry chicken and general Tso and the chicken was rubbery like it was raw in the curry and the sauce in general Tso tastes like its fermented.
Honestly this was gross. I don’t know if we got a bad order or what, but I would never return. General Tso’s chicken had zero spice and had barely any sauce, rice and broccoli were both cold and dry. Crab Rangoons were fishy to the point that even though sushi is my favorite food, they were inedible. The beef Lo Mein was greasy, cold, and flavorless. The absolute only positive thing I have to say is the egg rolls were decent. Complete waste of $40.
Their fried rice is so nasty ewe. First time eating here and last. Parents say their egg rolls are almost like a pre rolled cig.. The quality of the food doesn’t match up to what they charge. Wouldn’t go back.
Everything was horrifically under-seasoned. Would not recommend any of the dishes we tried: veggie fried rice, chicken chow mein, orange chicken, wonton soup. All disgusting. Crab Rangoon tasted rotten. Fried wonton was bad. Nothing tasted like the food it was meant to be. So bad. Do not eat here
