There's nothing like moriches diner, The waiters and waitresses are very nice and the person that owns the place is a very wonderful person. There's times when I feel like I'm part of the family and that's the way it should be I give them a big thumbs up and as far as their food I put it to number one on the list there's nothing there that disappoints me I give them a 100%

Great menu, great food and great service. The San Diego supreme was fantastic. Cajun grilled chicken, sauteed onions, avocado, lettuce, tomato and Monterey Jack cheese on a poppy seed Kaiser roll. Topped with onion rings and a side of fries. Belgian waffles, pancakes sausage and BLT were also fantastic. Would definitely drive out of my way to go here again.

This is a great diner with wonderful food and great service. You can basically get anything that you want.... Italian, Greek, steaks, fish, burgers, breakfast. And on a Saturday night the place was packed. We had to wait about 5 minutes for a table. I always feel that when the parking lot is packed with cars and the restaurant is full of people, it means the food and service is really good and that is so true about this diner!

I have lived here for a touch over 40 years and my family has gone there a million times over the years not to mention every Mother's day without fail and have sent friends and clients there. The food is not only always absolutely delicious no matter what you order but is bountiful as well. Prices have gone up respectively however, the amount and quality of the food remains the same while other establishments have changed for the worst. The diner is always immaculately clean and regardless of the day time and amount of foot traffic the staff is always friendly and on point. My order is always correct and it comes on a very timely basis. Kudos to them all. GREAT PLACE!!

Had Thanksgiving dinner with my family here. Food was good & plentiful. The atmosphere was warm & inviting. The server we had was right on top of everything, didn't have to ask them for refills on any beverage. When asked for extra bread, butter, napkins, etc., we got them in ample time. Their assortment of desserts were very tasty & were of a full portion not a sliver of or 'sample style'....a personal full portion. I would recommend this place for special occasions, family get togethers, holidays and just everyday dining. I found the prices to be comparable with other diners that in my opinion have less food portions, less quality of service & the atmosphere is less relaxing. Overall.... I feel that Moriches Bay Diner is worth making the trip to & having an enjoyable dining experience.

I’ve been a customer of this diner for over 10 years. It was my sister-in-law‘s birthday without us even asking the waiter by the name of Mike to sing Happy Birthday, He turned a super Sad day to an amazing day for her. His service was amazing, and as usual the food was delicious.

My friend and I stopped here with her 2 year old son. What a great experience! A man (maybe the manager) greeted us with a smile at the door and welcomed us in. He also checked on us later while we ate. The food was great. The service was excellent. Irsa was outstanding. This is not your typical diner. It was so much better.

Last night my husband and I went to the diner and I ordered a spaghetti Squash boat filled with sausage ,spinach, quinoa, Sweet potato, butternut Squash, Chickpeas, pomagranate, covered with mozzarella and baked over a pesto cream sauce. It was to die for. I'm dreaming about it and I need to go back and get another one today Outstanding!!!

Loved our experience here today. Food was delicious (breakfast quesadilla and california benedict), server was friendly (Sammi!), and we only had to wait about 5 mins to sit on a busy Sunday. Sadly I don't live around here, but if I am ever back in the area I'm stopping here!

Been here many times before and every time has been great. Here again with family to enjoy a nice Thanksgiving dinner and it has been delicious. After the many visits, I wouldn't expect anything less from this great diner! Manager came by to each table to check in which was a nice friendly touch. Ordered the country fried turkey entree, it was delicious!

Eggs Benedict was fantastic. The our favorite skillet was pretty good as-well. I’d go back. We sat at the bar and they had a nice display of homemade treats (as seen in photo) all and all the staff ways enjoyable and humble. Worth giving a tip.

Always like a "Cheers" moment once you walk in the door. They are genuinely happy to see you. The food is always good and to be honest I try something new each time I go. But a staple comfort food is gravy and fries....so yummy

Great service and plenty of gluten-free choices on the menu. My girlfriend and I went there for a quick dinner one night. She lives nearby and it’s her go-to diner, which is high praise considering the number of diners on Long Island. We were both in a salad mood. She ordered the Mediterranean Salad, which had a wonderful mix of fresh lettuce and veggies, olives and an amazing balsamic dressing that had us addicted. I had the Spinach Salad, which had the usual mix of spinach, tomato, onions, hard-boiled egg and bacon, but also has artichokes and olives, for a more Mediterranean tilt. I had their excellent honey mustard dressing. Both of us added grilled chicken, which was perfectly seasoned and delicious. The salads were so big that we each took half home and had the rest for lunch the next day. Service was attentive but not intrusive, and it was a very good value for money. I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended, especially if you like the NY diner experience.

We had dinner at the diner tonight and we have absolutely no complaints. The food was great and came out in good time. All of the staff was kind but our server Sammy was the best server we’ve ever had. She was so nice and attentive, we didn’t have to worry about waiting for anything we needed and our order came out perfectly! We hope to get her the next time we go!

I was finally near enough to the Moriches Diner to try their much talked about burger. I almost got sidetracked on the way there, and really had to fight the urge to stop at Espos Cheesesteak for a chicken cheesesteak. I think it's one of the best I've eaten on the Island. That big red food truck sits less than a mile West of the Moriches Diner, on the South side of the road, in the Blooms Nursery parking lot . Next time 🤷‍♂️ But, anyhow.. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices of the 8 oz burger..If you wanted only the burger, it costs just $9.85, and that comes with Cole slaw, and a pickle. The amount of different burger combos, was near endless, and they all looked good. I like French fries, so I ordered the plain burger, medium rare, with fries, crispy, roll toasted, which they say, is de rigueur, for their burgers, which was a $3.25 upcharge. The burger meat was good...Mild flavor profile, for my taste, but still good. It was cooked a bit passed medium rare, but as long as there is some red color in the meat when I cut into it, I'm good. The crispy French Fries were the coated type, a bit crunchy, which I enjoy, and there was certainly plenty of them. The Cole slaw was really good; the creamy type, which I prefer over the vinegary type. I loved the pickle spear, as well. You could not ask for better service. I adore Diner waitresses, as they dance a different dance, than most restaurant waitresses. Jenn, the waitress I had, was wonderful. Friendly, with a little bit of smiling sass, helpful, and professional. The burger didn't break into my top 10, but certainly lands in the top 25 range. I would not hesitate to recommend the burger, or the Diner. There's plenty of parking, so that's not a worry... It does get crowded, at times, so plan accordingly. I had a nostalgic drive back West through Mastic, as I passed by Frank's Bakery, which I think has the best Semolina bread around, then the Ice Cream Cottage, which has some of the best Ice Cream on tbe Island...No time to stop today..My waistline thanked me😎 Moriches Diner 02/16/24

This is the kind of eatery you go out of your way to visit. Way out of your way. We were visiting Long Island and had the serendipity to meet one of the owners, Kay, and to learn about Moriches Bay Diner. We promised to try it--and oh how glad we were that we did--even traveling the half hour to get there. We feasted, and I mean feasted, on stuffed mushrooms, creamy crab stuffing with a delicious sauce stuffed in giant buttons. Then a Greek salad loaded with the best feta we have ever had (the owners are Greek) with a red wine/feta dressing, again awesome. Then we had the delicious onion soup, served traditionally in a crock with lots of melty cheese. Our main meal was burgers--mine was lamb, with the wonderful feta salad topping, and French fries, which I requested as non-gluten so got them fried in Olive oil (yay!). The lamb burger was recommended by a long-time patron ("We've been here hundreds of times. Have the lamb burger.") Hubby's burger was the Jack Daniel's beef--he's a cattle rancher and approved the quality of the beef. His fries were in the regular frying oil, which I suspect is soy--but wonderful to have the Olive oil option. We splurged for take home baklava--and here especially is where I will tell you drive the distance! Wowie kazowie. Made at Moriches Bay, Nick the baker has definitely created the most delicious baklava we have ever tasted--and believe me, we have tasted quite a few. This one is masterfully made with walnuts, and just the right honey quantity to make it memorable without over sweetening. But it is sweet in every way. Portions are generous, the food is high quality, the menu is vast, and the atmosphere is buzzing and busy. Kay and Manager Phil were extremely engaged with their patrons. Smiles and greetings, and a true hospitable, caring attitude. Our server, Aly (Alexandria) was very kind, very competent, and very busy. But we lacked for nothing. This will definitely be on our list of places we must return to. Bravo Kay and Spiro, for maintaining what we imagine your parents, George and Christina had in mind when they opened this elegant diner-restaurant decades ago. You deserve awards! P.S. I suspect a couple of reviews during Covid, stating a lack of taste, may have been due to losing their taste buds with the virus. There was no lack of taste here, and I can't imagine how hard restaurants had to work to keep afloat, especially in New York, during the pandemic--which is still affecting restauranteurs. Like Kay mentioned that they employ 60 people but are down to 40. If you're good at restaurant work, apply! This place would make you proud to be on their team.

WOW! We found this amazing gem on Long Island. We've never had a mediocre dish here. All of the waiters and waitresses are awesome. But the food, every single dish we've had here has been extraordinary. Its like a five star restaurant, diner style. Spiro definitely knows what he's doing. He's the creator of all the dishes. This man can be a Michelin star. I'm not exaggerating here. I'm a good cook and my husband and I have eaten at many 5 star restaurants and my husband has traveled the world, so we know great food. This diner is in our top 5 places to eat. Hands down. A must try folks.

Always the best...I never talk in absolutes, but I have been coming here for 30 plus years and have never have a bad experience. I come in and they treat me like I am the most important customer in the place, but that is how everyone feels. But, this is a diner, the food is most important, and the food is great! They have a great menu, with great variety, something for everyone...and its all great! Recommend 1000%

Last time we came here to our disappointment they were out of their delicious t- bone steak The owner who always is present and cares about his business , his staff and his customers guaranteed my husband a t- bone steak on the house to make up for the outage. Well we came today and without hesitation he remembered us and compensated my husband with a t- bone steak Great place and the food is great Try it I never see anyone disappointed and the place is clean and friendly

Such a great spot for food and an enjoyable dining experience! I go there often when coming back from work, or when I bring my social group there for meetings or events. The restaurant manager will walk around and say hi to the regular customers and ask everyone how their dinner is going. The place is clean, bright and service is good. Food is very good. Counter seating has quick service and the servers are friendly. My favorites are the breakfast dishes like the fried eggs and bacon platter, the belgium waffle, and any of the specials such as salmon or chicken dishes. Prices are moderate. It gets busy at dinner so arrive a little early to get easy parking and seating.

There's nothing like a good breakfast before an intense workout, I had french toast (chia bread), with their Omelet Chipotle and hot cocoa easily a delicious combo. The severs have this very warm feeling about them and check on you frequently. I gotta say the overall design of the dinner.. man😌one look and if you've been to a good dinner before you'll know immediately that you're about to eat some really good food.

I must’ve been here over 100 times it’s my favorite diner I’ve ever been to before No matter how many people are waiting to be seated. Somehow they take care of you within minutes. Every waitress is a pro and the food doesn’t taste like diner food. I think they have a real chef back there. The owner is constantly walking around and checking on you he will top off your coffee or make sure someone comes if you need attention The prices are very good, but nothing is as good as the food. !!!!!!!!!

Been the for breakfast, lunch, and dinner never was disappointed. One of the few good diners left on Long Island. Food is excellent with different choices other than your regular diner options. Certain times of the day it gets really busy and there is a short wait but its worth it.

I've never dined in cause I never have the time to so I call ahead and place an order to go. The people that I see when I walk in to pick up my order are extremely polite, very friendly, and its always a pleasure to do business with them. Their also personable and got to know me so well in just 2 visits. Now when it comes to their food every dish I have ever ordered was absolutely delicious. No complains here and I recommend everyone take the time to try them and see for yourself that their just down right great all around.

I travel over one hour to get to this "diner". I put this in italics because the dining room is far from looking like a diner.. from breakfast to dinner ,as well as all baked goods- all is delicious! Owner's are usually there and truly care about the food and service. It was a Sunday and the dining room was pretty full.

Spiro and his team will make you feel like family every time. So much so that the more you visit the better it gets in that your server will make a point to get to know what you like especially to drink and they will have it to the table as fast as you can sit wait service like Patty, Rene, Irsa, Tracy and so on some with over 20 years at Moriches bay. There's no such thing as a diner better then this one. Never a bad meal and always more food than you expect. Go give it a try and tell them Anthony the roofer sent you. Enjoy

My wife and I have been coming to the MB Diner at least 2--3 times a month for several years. The food has almost always been well above average.... Like so many other things (especially in the service industry) the prices have steadily increased. That being said, I don't take great issue with the price increase--I DO, however, have an issue with the lack of service that I've begun to notice over our last few times eating there. I've also noticed that a few of the servers have attitude issues. There is also apparently a rather high turnover in staff. Three of our last six or seven visits there have been a disappointment. But for the above standard quality of the food, I wouldn't have come back.

Friendly service! They worked like a well oiled machine with their fast service, we tried the jack Daniel's burger, chicken walnut salad, California club panini, and French toast. Everything was big in portion you could definitely share with someone, but everything tasted great I don't think can go wrong with anything on the menu

Overall a solid experience at the bay diner ! Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu which was massive and quite encompassing. We came in for burgers and shakes! We had a great time and a nice comfy booth. Would defintely stop by again and would also recommend :) My only feedback is maybe the portions could be bigger sizes and in alot of old diners they bring you the extra milk shake in another glass which they didn't do. Otherwise nice time!

The cheese fries was great, but wish the cheese was more evenly distributed. The fries here are just great in general; very crispy. The Texas burger was okay.

Came as a party of 12 tonight, sat in the back room, we ended up adding one more guest to our party early on before ordering. Immediately our waitress had a major attitude, every trip back to our table we got eye rolls and she was visibly frustrated. At first we are thinking okay it’s 6pm on a Saturday night it’s busy she’s a little flustered- no big deal. Her attitude and nastiness carried on throughout the entire dinner. After ordering dessert I got up from the table to escort my 80 year old grandmother to the restroom, keeping her stable while she walks with a cane. Our waitress was coming by with dessert and immediately let out a loud disgruntled sigh right in front of us saying “NOW I HAVE TO WAIT” because someone at the table requested our waitress to put a candle in a dessert for a birthday and now we’re getting up to use the restroom. Our food was great and the manager as always any time I’ve been in the restaurant came by to check on our table and thank us for coming. The only complaint is the waitress. As someone who’s worked as a server for 16 years you do not treat guests the way this server did. Take a breath poise yourself and learn to work under pressure and multi task or don’t work as a server. Our bill was over $400. We still left a 20% tip after everything. Our orders came out correct and there were no other issues but it is not a pleasant experience dining out when your server visibly expresses being annoyed by everything the negativity rubs off on guests who are paying and tipping for service to have an enjoyable experience. It wasn’t worth it to complain at the door or on the way and cause more frustration. Any server I’ve ever had in this restaurant has always been polite. This one could use some more training. Not an asset to a place like this.

The food and the atmosphere was okay. But it was real pricy 🤷‍♀️

Ordered the broiled seafood dinner. The shrimp tasted like rotten feet smell. The fish tasted old. Everyone else’s dinner came out okay. Only saving grace for me was our waitress Sharon who was great! She was so welcoming - made you feel like we were at home.

Had the Rubin sandwich and it was.very disappointing. Very little sauerkraut and the bread was NOT rye and it was soggy.

Food was delicious. However, service was terrible. Our server, Rene needs a refresher on etiquette when serving public.Even though he gave customers extra napkins without asking, he never checked on us to see we needed refills, ask how our meal was or if we wanted anything else. The worst was the comment he made when one of us requested tartar sauce. His response was, “Did you have fish?” Why do you care why we asked for it? No need for the sarcastic comment. Well Rene, be grateful we are christians and left a generous tip even though you didn’t deserve it. We will be returning because the food was great. Compliments to the kitchen.

So I was very disappointed here today ,how is it that there' aren't any breakfast specials that include juice or coffee anymore, that should be included and the bacon has an awful taste like smoke ,not everyone likes that there should be regular bacon available. Sorry but I was not happy What happened to the good ole breakfast specials not ala carte on breakfast IJS

Service was very kind but It was clear that there was too many people for the servers to handle efficiently. The food was also decent but many items were unavailable. I’d love to go back to try the items I wasn’t able too. But overall the food I did try left me with a stomachache. I recommend If you have a strong gut or are constipated p.s. Keep a bathroom near

Huge selection of good. Fast service and very attentive waiters. Great value and large portions. Reasonable prices. The chicken francaise was a little rubbery and veggie burger was a little dry. I liked that the meals came with side dishes with choices of soup or salad. The food was overall okay. Would come back because of the value and great service.

The staff was rude the water uttering disrespectful words under his breath refused to get us ice water and brought us lemons brought food in a dirty glass ….. The manager Mike was even more rude refuse to help or comp the bill in any way and said he would not make it right…..been coming here for 2 years now because of this we will never return plus we both have bad heart burn… NOT TO MENTION LAST YEAR MY PREGNANT WIFE HAD METAL IN HER SOUP!!!!

Well, that was awful. I probably should've known better than to order seafood at a diner. The Manhattan Clam Chowder tasted like a bowl of liquid salt. The Fried Seafood was rock hard on the outside and spongy on the inside: nothing like that fresh from the freezer taste... Plus, the spinach dip was bland, devoid of any cheese, and unworthy of a gas station snack aisle. But, they probably do other things right, like breakfast and burgers, and the service was great. That's my truth.

I wouldnt eat here if it was the last place on earth the food is horrible. The staff is very rude uneducated on how to cook food at a safe temperature. Most of the food is uncooked. I only get sandwiches from there and they don’t even know how to make that correctly. Save your money. Do not go ahead. Staff is horrible. Management is horrible. You will get a horrible response if you want your money back or a refund, thank me later.

My family and I have come here probably once or twice a month at minimum for well over 5 years now. We live 4 minutes away. But recently, I was very disappointed. I'm willing to update this review, but hopefully this feedback serves to improve the experience for others and the establishment itself. Outside of breakfast, my wife always gets the "Steak stack salad." It's a meal she consistently goes to, it's prepared consistently, and she knows what to expect-- a good portion too, that she would always take home if she didn't finish. This most recent visit, she noticed a very bitter taste from the "fresh" mozzarella. She ate what she could of the steak and some of the fresh spinach and tomato, but avoided pieces that the cheese was in contact with, and couldn't eat the cheese. Anyone familiar with fresh mozzarella knows this is a sign of old cheese. I worked in the specialty food business and dealt with burrata and fresh mozz on a daily basis. While I was in the bathroom, she notifed our waitress that the cheese definitely tasted off, and couldn't really finish any more of the meal because of it. Not trying to make a huge ordeal of it, but obviously expecting a portion of the dish to be discounted, we discovered we were charged the full $21+ for the meal. Waitress did make an attempt to ask if they wanted to make her anything else, but 1) my wife doesnt get anything else, and 2) me and my young son were already finished and had somewhere to be. As we walked up to pay, we addressed it with "Kay", one of the owners/manager, who begrudgingly said she'd take $3 off the bill. She basically told us that they thought my wife ate half (she did not) and thus, they don't discount. As I stated, if that was the case, we would've brought the rest of the meal home with us as we typically do. Also, you guys are very often out of bottled water. Unfortunately, this was absolutely a subpar way to address this issue, especially for objectively less than fresh product being served, and made us feel unvalued as a customer with your reluctance to make it right. It literally and figuratively left us with a "bad taste in our mouth", and no one should leave a place of business feeling that way. The right way to deal with this shouldve been: "Hey, customer is stating the cheese tastes 'off', let's go check into that." Go into the back. Investigate. Expiration dates? Taste the cheese the kitchen is using? Come over to us, apologize, let us know you did or are looking into it, and so on. We weren't asking for a totally comp'd bill, but maybe half off the dish to accomodate our concerns. For as much business as you get, this should be standard protocol for a less-than-satsified customer. $3 off just felt like a pity discount to try and appease us.

⸻ I’ve been a regular here, and while the food is usually good, today was a complete disappointment. A $23 omelet was made wrong twice, my son’s quesadilla came without chicken, and instead of handling their mistakes professionally, the staff were abrupt and annoyed. To top it off, when my four-year-old politely asked for a lollipop, the owner’s daughter ignored him—then curtly said they were out. Taking frustration out on paying customers—let alone a child—is unacceptable. The food may be decent, but the attitude isn’t. You’ve lost my business. Be polite Butch!

The women manager/owner Kay refused to take our salad off the bill after having a deathly food allergy and making her aware of that, which was carrots. After showing her that carrots weren’t on the menu description of the dish and they were prominently all over the salad and incorporated in the dressing. She said it was decorative and that all restaurants don’t tell you everything that’s in a dish. I explained to her that I asked the waiter and she argue till she was blue in the face. Not one apology. On top of this, the soups were cold and returned and brought out cold again….. than we wanted to try our bread. Wouldn’t ya know the whole basket was used and touched with empty butter cartridges in the basket. Awful experience, would never go back if they paid me. Worst manager I Have ever encountered. They shouldn’t even be allowed to serve food without knowing the severity of allergy’s.

I am writing to share a disappointing experience I had during my most recent visit to your diner, a place I have been coming to my entire life and have always regarded highly. During this visit, the dish I ordered was brought out incorrectly. When we politely informed our server, she responded by telling us that we had ordered it that way. When she went to re-ring the order, we overheard her on the floor explaining to the manager—within earshot of other patrons—that she heard us order it the way she rang it in the first time. This directly implied that we were lying, and it was said loudly and unprofessionally in a public space. As someone who works in the hospitality industry myself, I was extremely uncomfortable. Regardless of any confusion, concerns like that should never be discussed on the floor, especially in a way that discredits guests. When the manager came to speak with us, I explained this. While she apologized and said the server was afraid of getting in trouble, the situation itself was not properly rectified. An apology alone does not undo the discomfort or the fact that our entire dining experience was ruined. We paid and handled the situation respectfully, but the lack of professionalism—both from the server and manager in how the situation was managed—was disappointing. For a long-standing, loyal customer, I expected a higher level of dignity, discretion, and care. I am sharing this not out of anger, but out of genuine disappointment and hope that this feedback helps prevent other guests from experiencing the same discomfort.

I went to moriches bay diner with my daughter and SIL. They ordered Prange Juice. Both of them said the Orange juice tasted off like sour. So my SIL wanted to trade it for a chocolate milk. The waitress said she can't do that. He would have to pay for it. I asked for the manager and his response is he tasted the orange juice and it tastes fine. They make it fresh everyday from frozen concentrate. But it's "fresh". The kids took a sip, that's it. They didn't drink 1/2 of it and then say it tastes sour. So needless to say I will never go there again. There are a lot of little places to have a meal. Extremely disappointed in the management at Moriches Bay Diner. The customer doesn't come 1st. Money does.

Horrible place to eat. I ordered the Porterhouse steak. I took one bite. Worse steak I’ve ever had. The owner or whomever he was came over to me. Spiro was questioning my experience with Steaks. I’ve never dealt with such a low class person. He charged me full price. My daughter was in tears. Last time I had old dried up turkey. I didn’t say anything. And paid for that. I’m tired of paying for sub par food. He’s the only diner out there. That’s the only reason why he’s in business. I’ll take my business elsewhere. I’m a Nurse and have an huge professional family.. and I’m telling everyone I know, to keep away from this place.
