Delicious Canton style dishes, came here with recommendation. Ordered a fried rice & fried noodles for take out, but it was highly satisfied. Will return to try other dishes.
very good and tasty. clean dining area, as well as the bathroom also.
I have eaten at this Restaurant three times and all three times I have had an excellent dinner. The food is great and the waiters are vey attentive.
Delicious food- I like to pick up lunch from here, usually the roast pork, pork belly, soy sauce chicken. Reasonable prices too!
What a wonderful surprise. We live close to her and always saw it driving by but due to the pandemic we wanted to order cantonese food close by and it's amazing. Can't say how wonder the lunch special and the main courses are. Whether the portions, or the quality/flavor it has never disappointed. I had to review because it's that good.
As good as Chinese food gets! This is not your regular Chinese-American cheap takeout spot. This is where Chinese people bring their families to eat. Prices are definitely restaurants level and so is the quality. Recommend: lobster noodles and the Peking Pork Chop. Fast service but call ahead to order.
Excellent price and the food is very very good! This place is an actual cantonese resturant! Always super busy so call ahead before going in or you'll have to wait awhile for your food.
Just the right taste of Cantonese food, nothing fancy but solid food.
I've been a fan of this place since it opened. Special lunch deals and roast meats (pork, duck, chicken) are particularly good. Service has been friendly. Clean establishment.
Great food, lots of hanging meats sell out fast.lots of take-out,Dine in area small.
The food here was legit and the price was good. It's a small place and it gets busy on a weekend. Definitely make a reservation if you want to eat here.
Had fish fry and some other food items here with coworkers was great and not too expensive!
This restaurant has really good lunch service deals. The scramble egg with shrimp and string beans with beef are so good and super affordable! You could easily share the dishes with others too. The chicken soup that comes with the meals is good as well. Honestly, it’s one of the only ones in the area that has really good and authentic Cantonese food!
The food in this restaurant is delicious. I like it very much. Highly !😝😝😝
The food was great. The price is decent for the amount of each dish, which was pretty big portions. Some waiters were moody; the older waiter said to me, can you ask me for the napkins and straw all at once with an attitude. One incident when another waiter, he packed my leftovers, he dropped the container on the floor and tried to reuse it; I stopped him from using the same container SMH. But the food was delicious, must go again.
I went here for Chinese family style dinner tonight. I must say I am impressed by their food and service. They did a great job being attentive towards our needs. Made some great recommendations. The servers were friendly and overall made sure we were taken care of. I will definitely come back again. Plus there is a lot of parking, which makes it easy access compare to going to downtown Flushing for the same foods. My parents were also impressed with how meaty the lobster and crab was. That makes a difference in their quality.
Very authentic Cantonese restaurant. Food and service was very good. I like that the peking pork chops and salt n pepper squid is not cake in very thick batter. All the other dish taste fresh. The place isn't very big and has a couple tables. There is lots of take out orders being placed so I guess lots of people like it too.The price is very reasonable for how much we had order. Will definitely go back to try other things on the menu.
They are so busy during this Chinese New Year period, however the kitchen can handle it nicely and we have a wonderful meal. The service is friendly. And the price is reasonable.
The portion is so worth the price and the food is so flavorful - alot of "wok-hey"; this is not the regular Chinese food takeout taste you get. This is authentic Cantonese flavors! What you see in the pictures are just lunch special orders. they almost top the containers with your dish and give you rice in its own container.
Cantonese dishes without going to Chinatown. Have parking right in front. Takes cash and credit cards. Have a live aquarium with live seafoods to choose from. Prices is reasonable and good portion size. Most importantly the food taste delicious. Would recommend this place for some real Cantonese dishes, and the staff speaks Cantonese!!!
I ordered ahead for pickup Sat. Everything was ready within 30mins. The female employee whom answered the phone was very polite, she even called me back to informed me the correct total for the meal so I can have my change ready (I told her I would be paying cash). Everything we ordered was so delicious. Parking up front made pickup easy and quick (very much appreciated during this pandemic). She also informed me they offer lunch specials during weekend too (except major holidays).
Great Cantonese style food without having to travel to heart of Flushing. The waitstaff and kitchen is a well-oiled machine. They are able to crank out dishes in a pinch and make it work. We love their Lobster with sticky rice.
best authentic Cantonese food in the area! no matter what we always get the seafood bean curd (tofu) casserole. the tofu is always so crispy on the outside and juicy inside.
Was very impressed with the Restaurant. It appears to be a family owned. Clean & cozy. Very inconspicuos loocation however well worth the search. Peking Duck was well seasoned & delicious along with the Roast Pork & side orders.
My most favorite Cantonese restaurant has an average of 3.9 stars. I was initially shocked so I checked some of the 1-2 star reviews. Someone gave it a 1 star bc they did not get the most covert part of the roast pig, the pork belly. Or the got parts of a bird that isn't meaty. I've been to this place a few times over the years, the food was consistent and yummy. The service was on par to other Cantonese restaurant. The atmosphere is no frills. But the food is some of the best I've had. My praise to the chefs and hard working waiters trying to serve as much people as possible, thank you!!
Found this place after watching a video review from YouTube. We ordered 4 dishes, which came in at under $100, which is a steal. Excellent portion sizes and everything came out within 15 minutes of ordering. We had their Bee Chow Fun, which had a good amount of protein in it for the price point. Next was the seasoned Braise Bean Curd, which was soft and complemented with several vegetables. The Twin Lobster with ginger and scallion presentation was excellent and can be ordered with noodles for an extra fee to fill up the dish. Lastly, we had the Sweet and Sour Pork Chops, which was a mountain full. A couple of bowls of rice absorbed the sauce, refills on the tea pot, and some oranges to end the meal. It's definitely worth a follow-up visit.
Good dine in experience with attentive staff, great food, and flavors done well. Usually would have to go to the heart of Flushing or Chinatown for quality dishes like this. Salted egg yolk pumpkin was a surprise hit. Pork belly and walnut shrimp were also delicious. Came for dinner but was told their lunch prices are a bargain. Will return!
The food is tasty and very good and the lobster Cantonese is the best also the prices are reasonable . The staff has always been polite.
👍👍👍👍👍super friendly waiter 🤑🤑 Inexpensive with weekend lunch specials!! 🥢🥢🥢🥢 Delicious with huge portions Was there on Sunday lunch. No wait. We ordered two lunch special and our server kindly warned us it might be too much for just two of us 🤣 and he was indeed correct. Had to pack everything to go. Will definitely come back often. Hmmm taking one star off for not getting fruits and/or red bean soups in the end 😒😒 ask for it if you didn't get it. It supposed to be complimentary 🤔
a surprise hold in a wall. the roast pork and duck are a must-have. Price is a bargain compared to bigger restaurants. Avoid the jelly fish with cucumbers. too sweet
They make the best roast pork that my kids like the steam fish and soup that my husband like even he don’t like fish but I don’t like the Canada crab and lobster that they make is too much flour on it and lose the taste of seafood.
Good food for a very decent price. They have a fairly large selection of dishes, but stick with the traditional Cantonese dishes or you’ll regret.
Better then good place if you're into Cantonese cuisine. Pretty authentic to the food I grown up with as a kid in Manhattan Chinatown, but I guess with all things Flushing, kinda pricey. But then again that goes for all food in Flushing now a days.
Have only ordered for delievery or pick up but it’s a great quick and easy chinese take out restaurant! Order is always ready on time or faster than estimated and tastes the same each time.
I get this Chinese food every lunar new year and the food is perfect its flavorful. But sometimes the fried noodles taste a little burnt. But thats ok.
Love this little chinese restaurant. Had to bring my co workers here. Have the biggest lunch menu available and everything is good and cheap. Had the Peking Pork chop, fried flounder, fish and tofu casserole and last fried pig intestense. Not many places makes fried pig intestence good and they make it excellent. I have never been disappointed when i come here to eat.
Good food, clean and not noisy. Parking lot is small. Entrance is a little crowded.
Place was all right. Not bad but very far from the best. Place surprisingly has a good amount of people for lunch time. The price? Slightly pricier than some. The food is fine, nothing bad but proportions are not the best. An average place that I will give the benefit of the doubt. Very small place so if you're thinking of bringing a party of more than four, go somewhere else.
Never disappointed ! Great cantonese Hong Kong style dishes. Staff speaks Cantonese. I like and always dine-in but was sick that day, did not want to spread the germs.
Our go to Chinese restaurant that is quite intimate because it is a tiny restaurant. Just a short walk from my place. Food is good and service is fast. The oil that they use won't make you sick like other chinese restaurants. I have a very sensitive stomach to bad oil. I know when they're using bad and not so bad oil. My body can tell.
The food here was pretty good for the price. You don't get food of this quality at prices like this anymore. We came here because of a family recommendation, the daily lunch specials are a great deal, generous portions and great flavor! The wait staff were very attentive and even getting here at 12:30 on a Saturday, our wait was no more than 10 minutes for a table.
Food is good only when the restaurant is not packed on holidays. The dishes has deep flavor. But since it was a holiday, dining room was packed and tons of take out orders backed up. The flavor was off. Sweet and sour pork is fresh made but the meat quality is lacking using 50/50 fatty and lean pieces. I prefer a leaning cut of pork.
The food is good, the services are okay. The lunch special offers from the restaurant is available 7 days in a week. Good price and good food. Last time I bought 1.5lbs of roasted pig belly, but there's about 1/4 of the portions are pig butt!
must get: house special fried rice + crispy garlic chicken + pig ears cold appetizer + crab fish belly soup i know this place has a plethora of lunch specials that everyone seems to come here for, but my family and i usually come here for dinner family style. the pig ears are spicy and aromatic, thinly sliced so it absorbs the flavors well. the house special fried rice is delicious with the raisins and crispy salted fish flakes! the walnut shrimp and mapo tofu were okay, would pass. make sure to also ask about the free sliced oranges once you pay the check; i’ve noticed they don’t automatically bring it to non chinese speaking customers…
We’ve been coming to Good Luck Kitchen many times, and it’s always been a reliable spot with reasonable prices and generous portions. Even when we arrived around 10:50 AM, the place was already very busy, which says a lot about its popularity. Overall, today’s food was very good, and this could easily have been a five-star visit. Here’s what we ordered today: Peking Pork Chop – Very flavorful and well cooked, crispy on the outside and tender inside. The sauce was served on the side, which was a big plus—it kept the pork chop crispy and allowed us to control the flavor ourselves. Sauteed Noodle with Fish – You can definitely taste the seafood flavor, but it wasn’t overly fishy. Well balanced and easy to enjoy. Salt Fish Eggplant – Rich and savory with good depth. The eggplant was soft and absorbed the flavor well. Sauteed Mushrooms & Tofu Skin with Brown Sauce – This dish was a pleasant surprise. It included white fungus (snow fungus), which we didn’t expect, and it actually paired very well with the mushrooms and tofu skin. A nice, lighter dish with an interesting texture contrast. Crispy Roasted Pork (1 lb) – The flavor was excellent and the meat was soft and tasty. However, this is the reason for the one-star deduction: the pound we bought today was almost all bones, with very little actual meat. Taste-wise it was great, but the meat-to-bone ratio was disappointing. Nothing we ordered tasted bad—in fact, everything was enjoyable. The only issue this time was the value consistency on the crispy pork. Otherwise, this is still a place we come back to often and generally trust.
No doubt the food served is up to expectation. Saturday is an unusually busy day for eating in or take-out. The servers focus primarily to taking calls forsaken eat-in customers. Therefore the food served will be below grade, meaning it had cooled to an extent of requesting either a reheat or change of dish. I suggest if anyone wanted to savor the liked dishes, go on an off peak day/Time to your preference. Will still be able to enjoy the dishes that you like
Happy to find this authentic Cantonese cuisine restaurant outside Flushing area that you can park on the street easier. They do have shared parking space in the front but only enough for a few cars. The restaurant is very small so we still needed to wait more than 30 minutes to be sit at around 2:15pm. I see lots of people ordering take outs. Seating area is crowded and they even set up a new table right next to us when they had too many customers... Feel like someone was joining us to eat as that newly set up table was so close to me!😬 We ordered three lunch specials. Prices are different for different dishes. The taste was not bad but not 5 stars because the "shredded fillet steak with basil" has only 3-4 piece basils that they couldn't bring up the favor at all. Tasted more like"pepper steak". The "Braised fillet fish w. Bean Curd Casserole" did has lots of protein but missing one key ingredient (i.e. lettuce in the bottom) .The "steamed flounder" was perfect to me. Just to let you know: For lunch special, you won't get free dessert and fruits 🙂 (in case you saw other reviews showing that....)
At Good Luck Kitchen, it’s all about the lunch specials. From 10am to 3pm, these deals are so good, they practically pull you in by the taste buds. We were so excited, we ordered two lunch specials and a side of roast pork. The food was so mouthwateringly delicious, I forgot to snap photos of the specials—my bad, foodies! Everything was fresh and bursting with flavor. The place gets busier than the Flushing-Main Street subway station, so get there early or around 2pm to avoid battling the lunchtime crowd like it's the Hunger Games.
Went for lunch with co-workers. Large portions, great for sharing. Dishes were displayed on lazy susan's so we could rotate it and go through every dish and each grab a serving. Great variety, good flavors. My fluent Chinese speaking buddy helped order. The fried pork cutlet was yummy, and noodles with lobster were good too. A very "cafeteria" vibe but amongst friends who are too busy laughing and eating, you don't notice the lack of decor. Go for the food. Nothing else.
Good food but expect a long wait on weekends at lunch even for takeout. Bottleneck at cashier. Too many people at entrance. It's a single line. They don't separate the new orders and phone orders / pickup. I called ahead to order and still it is a lot of hassle for a pickup that should be simple.
It's my first time take-out some roast pork and soya chicken in this restaurant. The price about the same in down town Flushing. We'll try their dishes sometime and we shall have more information to be posted. Couple days later, there's a change to their take out food....we order about a pound of roast pork...on my god..l never had such bad roast pork..the pork is not tenderloin meat....very lean and not juicy ... besides, the roast pork had no favor of any sauce....just feel like a "burning meat" not what we call "char sui". Very disappointed...Beside, they will charge you a quarter for a very small container of "gingers and scallions" sauce..... I buy any where in BBQ shop in downtown flushing. I never ask to pay for the above sauce....
BEWARE: CHECK YOUR CURRENCY The food was good, I brought a large order and paid with a $100 dollar bill, they gave me change that were all counterfeit bills. It was discovered by my bank when I tried to deposit the bills they returned, the bank verified it was all counterfeit money. I only use cash when I go to this restaurant. It's safer to pay by card then give them actual bills.
Typical Cantonese cuisine. Lamb chops and Filet Cantonese style were good. The other dishes are just ok. Parking space is limited although nearby street parking may be available.
Although it has a C rating, I was quite surprised with the dinner I had there. The portions of each dish were abundant, tasty and well presented. The wait staff was attentive and on the ball. This place deserves a better rating then the C given. Moderately priced. I'd go back!
The family and I used to come here at 2x to 3x a week. And it was delicious. Haven't gone to the location for about 2 months and came back yesterday. Not sure what happened but a lot of the regular food that we used to order has become very ehhh. The flavor and quality of the food has dropped a lot in our opinion. If you need some hk style food and etc, it's still not a bad place to eat but def has dropped in rating.
Good Luck Chicken isn’t the cleanest spot — the C grade posted in the window says a lot — and the service is consistently rude or dismissive. Still, if you can get past that and just focus on the food, it’s actually very good. I’ve been several times for classic Cantonese dishes and BBQ meats, including the soy sauce chicken, roast pork, and stir-fried bean sprouts. The flavors are authentic, rich, and satisfying — the kind of food that keeps you coming back despite everything else. (Note: If you want BBQ meats over rice, this is strictly a lunch offering — you cannot get this for dinner). Overall, not a place you go for atmosphere or service, but if you’re after solid, old-school Cantonese BBQ, it delivers.
Had gotten take out here many times since it opened. The last time I came, I walked in to get food to go instead of calling in to order. Upon walking in, I see that the restaurant is graded a C. The floors and walls were grimy, the seafood tanks weren’t the cleanest, and the plants by the door were dusty. I suppose that explains the C grading. It was 5pm and there were no customers. A woman was manning the phone and a man was chopping meat by the window. I stood there waiting for the lady to finish the call. When she hung up. She didn’t look up or say anything to acknowledge me until I said something (in Cantonese like the entire staff). As I was telling her my order, the phone rang again. She took the call and left me standing there. A waiter came over and took my order instead. He was nice and polite and told me it’ll be a wait of 15 mins. I stood by the side and watched customers come and go. It took 25 mins instead. I recommend ordering over the phone to pick up your food especially with such service. Food: Roast duck/soy sauce chicken over rice was good. Nothing to complain about. Seafood chow hor fun (wide rice noodle) was flavorless. The noodles weren’t stirred fried enough as it was still very white and didn’t have much flavor. The seafood sauce had shrimp, imitation crab, and plenty of squid but again there weren’t enough taste. Salty fish and chicken fried rice was alright. It didn’t have enough salty fish. In fact, you can’t enough pick any out from the rice. The rice was fried nicely and evenly though. Overall, the food was decent. I give it 3 stars. This includes my many previous visits. Taking off a star for cleanliness and service.
I am a regular since day one. They used to offer good food especially the 3 items combo lunch special. They increase the price for the 3 items combo to $12 ( most expensive in NYC comparatively) I am ok as long as they keep up with the quality. But I was disappointed. Soup was cold. Everything was cold except the rice. The roast pork wasn’t as crispy as before. I wonder if they changed the ownership.
Give credit for their food because it’s the fair and right thing to do, but their service and attitude of the staff is so atrocious I won’t be returning. My mom’s first time here order take out, the cashier told her take order from another waitstaff because she could t wait ten seconds for my mother to tell her the order. We go to the wait staff and order take out food- my mother wanted to add on bbq pork order so told to go back to cashier to order. It’s back and forth but no big deal. We went back to cashier- and this woman makes a massive deal how she then has to go back to her colleague to get the take out order form. “Why are you making me do extra work?” Because the five steps to her colleague is a massive undertaking. My mother apologized and said “I didn’t know I was supposed to be given a form”. This woman then proceeds to walk to five steps to her colleague and get into it with him about about handing over a piece of paper. At which point we as clients are upset, and I said “is there a problem? If it’s too much for you, we can leave.” Listen, You may not have a best or dream job in your eyes, but if you are taking it out on your customers who are the life blood for your workplace- this isn’t for you. Dont come to work, find other means to pay bills.
I ordered a roasted pork, crispy pork and soy sauce chicken over rice. Was disappointed in how big and poorly cut the roasted pork was. It was huge chunks with majority fat. Crispy pork was dried. The only savior was the chicken. Definitely would not get these again. Would opt to try the duck or something else.
Ordered some lunch specials. Fried pork chop look so dark! Not sure what kind of oil they been using, or how long the oil has been in the fryer. Twenty minutes after the lunch, I ran to the bathroom that it actually I didn’t make it on time to the toilet bowl. I made a mess. Other reviews were right, they had class “C” a while ago, and they now have “PENDING”.
I ordered Crispy Pork over rice to go. When I got home, I was shocked by what they gave me. They basically gave me pork over rice with a microscopic piece of crispy skin. I felt cheated by them. They had a wonderful good piece of crispy pork hanging by the window but instead the guy gave me some leftover scrap piece hidden in the pile of meat in the corner. Never again.
The food here was ok. There are better take out spots that are better quality. The problem that bothered me the most was when the staff dropped hot tea on my brother's lap, and I understand accidents happens but this staff member didnt bring any napkins or a rag to clean up the spill. If you like this place, that is fine, but I don't think we would come back. Cash and credit are both accepted. There is a free parking lot in front. However, space is limited. 11/2023
I ordered pork fried rice with chicken wings. Got there in 5 minutes and it was already done and bagged. Charged me 30$ I usually pay 20$ everywhere else but fine. 2 minutes later I get home open the food and wings were very cold as if they just came out of the fridge. While I'm eating the rice I bite down on a lobster shell. Why is there a lobster shell in my pork fried rice? The rice tasted like fish and so did the chicken. Cross contamination much? This is NOT your ordinary Chinese food. We did not even eat the wings, very weird chicken wings if you asked me. They were not good at all. I will not be ordering from this place ever again.
Worst service ever. The fried rice was as hard as pebbles, and the staff were extremely rude. Definitely the most terrible dining experience I've had. I will NEVER go there again!
Have been patronizing for 6 months and it dropped to one star from my POV. No idea why they started cutting down on the portion on each dish, a good 25% of empty space is spotted. Forget about the inadequate supply of soup, the service is getting intolerable especially that lady with an attitude and so negative upon every request. Food is still very good but if all these can't be improved we surely won't deny there are other restaurants out there. I hope they read this.
I called in advance and scheduled a pickup for 5:45pm. I asked 4 workers, what is the status of my order and if anything was ready. All 4 of them kept ignoring me and avoided my questions. I had to get loud with one of the workers for a valid response. After waiting for an hour, I was told they couldn't make 2 of my dishes because they ran out of roast pork and crabs. Horrible fking service!!!!!!!!!!! Entire staff with the red shirts needs to be fired!!
The person that answered the phone was very unprofessional. I understand they will be very busy on Mother's Day so I called on Friday at 5pm. The lady said call back later at 9pm because we starts getting busy now. I was like ok, I will call back tomorrow. She replied we will be busy tomorrow too. I was like do you think I have nothing to do beside place g take out order!? 今時今日咁嘅服務態度係唔得㗎!
There is huge C grade on the window for sanitation rating. The food had lots of msg and the service was very bad. If you don’t want get diarrhea, please avoid coming here.
We've eaten here many times even though it has a "C" rating. The food is authentic Cantonese. Last time we ordered the beef stew casserole and found a piece of plastic wrap in the bottom of the pot. It was unbelievable that the waiter would not give us a credit for it as he said we should have mentioned the plastic wrap as soon as possible and not when we finished it!! We mentioned it as soon as we noticed it. This time we ordered a beef stew flat noodle soup and the beef was a bit rancid. We complained about it and the waitress got upset at us again for complaining. She said we shouldn't put back chewed parts back in the bowl. Unbelievable. Last time we're eating here.
Since it was a dish I had eaten in Hong Kong, I visited in person and ordered the pork and duck meat combo. Flies were coming and going on the fried duck meat next to the counter, and the staff was wiping the dining table with a dirty cloth. The New York City Health Inspection sticker on the outside window indicates that this place received a C, but it is probably not clean. I understand that you're hungry, but there's no doubt that New York City gave food hygiene a C. This is a restaurant you should never go to. One more thing I want to say is that it is greasier than when I eat it, so I am afraid that it may contain collagen or carcinogens. This is a place where children should stop their parents from going. So I canceled my order and left.
The taste of the food can reach the next star. but as for the service and prices, I have a great dislike. Apart from the terrible attention provided, the Special Rice House does not have any meat, only vegetables. It is a robbery. DO NOT ASK FOR IT (I consider it better not to enter again, and I advise you not to enter).
I’m really surprised by all the good reviews this place gets. First their customer service sucks! If you go there during lunch time and they are very rude in taking your order. But I did get a few orders for myself and my co-workers. I have to say I’m very disappointed with the quality of food they guy at the front chopping up the meat was serving up. I had to throw most of my food out because it was nothing but fat and chicken bones!
I had take out of choices of 3 meat over rice for lunch, the pork was okay. The duck was nasty, it was not fresh at all, I took a bit and I knew something was wrong. I wonder how long the duck had been out after preparation, a day or 2 ? I finished most of the pork and only had a piece of duck and I throw away the rest. 30 minutes later my stomach started hurting and I had to go to bathroom multiple times. I will never go back again ! The health and sanitation department should close them done for sanitation review! I still feel nasty when I think about it.
I ordered the lunch special — beef with hot green pepper. When I almost finished eating, I discovered a piece of beef covered with mold. It was so disgusting! I can’t believe the restaurant served spoiled meat. This is totally unacceptable and unsafe. Please be careful if you plan to eat here.
