The food here is amazing! I've been coming to this place since I was little and they have stayed very consistent with their food. The orange chicken and beef and broccoli is the best in town!

Big boy chow mein portions. The orange chicken is unique but I don't like it as much as the broccoli beef. Yes that's the good stuff. Over 2 lbs of broccoli beef and noodles for one two entree box. I like this.

I don’t know about atmosphere because I order my food to go. I drive from Whittier to Long Beach. So this food is worth the drive for me.

Without a doubt, this is the BEST Chinese express restaurant found in not only Long Beach, but ANY WHERE! The food is the greatest, and I have never been to a better Chinese express restaurant than this one. AWESOME food at the BEST prices.

Perfect for loading up on hot, fresh, yummy, cheap Chinese food. Go ahead, get the three item combo, it's only a bit more money than the two item combo. Ask for half noodles, half rice, and you'll have leftovers to heat up for the rest of the week. I love that you actually see all the food before you decide what to order. Huge portions,. Small price. MSG will make you retain water, maybe. Oh, and combo comes with eggroll and a soda. What more can you possibly ask for on a day or night you don't want to cook?

My god of you haven't been to this place and live in the area. China Chef Express is a much a part of LB culture as apple pie is to the US. Prices have gone up a bit over the years but the size of the meal they provide has not. A one side combo is large enough to take out a small child cold. Order two side combo if you anticipate multiple children needing to be taken out. Must haves: Chow mein Beef broccoli Fried chicken Pepper chicken Bbq pork Embrace the covid era body. You've been warned.

This is the only chinese food that I enjoy because of their delicious food and their generous portions. I've compared their food to Panda Express, and the difference was insane. Panda Express wasn't even half good, and I didn't even feel full. I recommend this place for anyone who wants a nice full meal.

I grew up eating home made Chinese food every day. My friends know if they ask me to pick a restaurant, 9 out of 10 times it'd be a Chinese place. With all that said, I surprised myself when I found out how much I enjoyed the food here. Every time I come here, I am always the only Asian customer...but hey I need to get my westernized Chinese food fix once in a while. No, the food here is not authentic. But it doesn't mean it's not delicious. Compared to Panda Express, this place gives you at least 50-100% MORE food in a two-item combo AND at a lower price AND with a free egg roll and a small soda. I'm slightly addicted to their teriyaki chicken...which tastes nothing like what is sold in a good Japanese restaurant, but incredibly yummy nonetheless. Other good choices are orange chicken and fried chicken wings. The cheap ass in me always ends up getting all chow mein as the starch, so I could save it for the next few days. The two meat entrees can be enjoyed over the next 2-3 meals as well since they give you such generous portions. This might be the best Chinese fast food joint I've ever been to.

Not the same orange chicken recipe as before also they don't serve you as much serving for a combo as before. However the food is still good. Cash only.

I have eaten here many times over the years. This visit today the food didn't taste as good. I wasn't told nor was there any signs posted that it was take out only. If I had been told in the beginning take out only I wouldn't have ordered. Disappointed. I may never go back.

I've passed by this place numerous times and ALWAYS seen a line out the door so I figured it had to be really good. I think that's probably why I my expectations were high...I went in and was not impressed the food was JUST OK and I spent more time swishing the flies away from my food than actually being able to eat it. I will not be coming back and will be having a talk with the person who recommended this place

The beef broccoli is the only thing I found delicious 😍, they are not any better than other Chinese food places in LB. Guess they just got lucky where they placed their restaurant because it gets packed! The Chow Mein was ehh, it wasn't worth the 15 min wait, also the orange chicken was weird and dry. Lastly, IF YOU LOVE FRIED RICE DON'T GO HERE, IT HAS NO FLAVOR, NO EGGS OR VEGETABLES.

So it let me know she feels she didn’t have to satisfy the customer because she acts like she doesn’t understand. I was really shocked at the overall situation because as I said I have been going here since a child hence the 3 stars and not 1. The food quality, health of the customer and sanitation is the most important thing when dealing in restaurants. I can get over the attitude or passive disrespect.

Despite a verity of dishes, food is dull and tasteless. A tad over priced. If you really have a very limited time to go search some where else for a better value and better taste, then is ok to try one time and very unlikely that you would return for a second time.

I've been eating here for a while now and every time I come here lately, I say it's going to be the last time. The chow mein is the best thing about the place. I'm usually not a big fan of chow mein either, so that should tell you something. There is usually a line out the door (so maybe it's just me) but it moves really fast in an assembly line sorta way. They give you a lot of food and in any other situation that would be great, but the food is tough and chewy at best. I'll have to wait and see if I'll eat there again.

BAD SERVICE!!! I usually don't eat Chinese food but I was craving it, so we came here. The server got an attitude cause I couldn't understand what she was saying, then when we were going to pay, the cashier was very rude and unprofessional. I was being nice but she wasn't, obviously they don't care to give good customer service. Will NEVER go back, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. BAD SERVICE!!!!!!!

I truly had high Hope's for this place. Unfortunately, it was not what I thought. For $11, you will get one items and rice and an egg role. I sounds good, but the portion size they offer is not worth the money. Its half the portion size of anywhere else. Hopefully it'll get better.

I have been coming here many years cuz I like the food. I stopped in today and was disappointed. Cuz the lady who did my plate barely put any teriyaki and orange chicken so I asked for extra in which I was charged an extra $1.00. I hate when they measure the food. They are charging almost $9.00 a plate so they shouldn't be stingy with the portions. Omg they have even downsized the drinks. I am gonna start coming here every blue moon.I am adding additional comments because this place is not as good as rhey use to be as far as service. They are a bit arrogant..God don't like ugly!

I used to love this place but the food is so bad for me now. I'm used to eating clean so when I ate yesterday I literally got a food coma, then started feeling inflammation all over my body and the next morning feeling sick, sore throat, headache, body aches, and overall like chit. Be warned if you are looking to be healthy and fight any chances of the Corona / flu viruses.

Came into this place with high expectations after reading the reviews, only to be horribly let down. My wife and I ordered the 2 item combos with orange chicken, terriyaki chicken, kung pao chicken, and beef and broccoli. The food was extremely soggy and lacked essential flavor that you expect when you go to a Chinese food place. The portions were generous, though if it is flavor you seek, search elsewhere. The dining area was not well maintained. You get what you pay for I suppose.
