El Paisa is located in a local neighborhood with ample parking behind the street facing building. We walked in right when they opened. The place still smelled like floor cleaning solution (why the atmosphere had 3 stars). This restaurant can easily seat more than 100 people it seems. We were quickly shown a seat and our waiter was very friendly. My BIL is fluent in Spanish and was able to help w our orders. Drinks and appetizers were not a long wait at all. We got their fried yuca(sp?) and fried ripe bananas as starters - SO delish! We ordered a soup, carne and a fish dish. All were well cooked and seasoned very well. The fish may have been a tad bit overcooked but other than that, all the dishes were great. The servings were big portions as well and well worth it This was our first taste of Colombian cuisine and glad it was at El Paisa. Highly recommend this place and would visit again.
Dinner was incredible. Never tried Colombian but now will go again. I'll start with a menu having no prices which means it could've been more costly than expected but it was where we expected 2 seafood plates to be. The veggie empanadas were incredible and the fish marinara and salmon version were both amazing and gave us plenty of leftovers. The fries that accompanied the meal could've been left off... Because they were soft and greasy as well as inconsistent with the rest of the meal. Service was also to notch and while English wasn't the predominant language spoken inside, they accommodated ours willingly and easily. My take away is find something delicious to share because one meal could've fed 2 or 3 and made us Columbian food fans
As Colombian, took me back to the motherland. Absolutely delicious
Got the Bandeja Tipica. Delicious! The sauce that came with the empanadas were great on everything because it was just a little spicy, but had great flavor. Also had the Strawberry shake with water, definitely recommend if you like fresh strawberry without milk. Staff was great and very patient with me. Recommend eating at this place.
The food was so good and our server andy was so nice! Would definitely recommend coming here for a meal.
I'm glad to have found this place in LB. Was feeling bummed when El Bambuco closed down. Been there twice. The first time I got the Bandeja Paisa. Good stuff all the way. The second time it was a patacón, a flat, fried plantain shell with stuff on top. I had ordered it with some beef. They messed up a bit and gave it to me chicken. I was short on time so I just ate it; they did offer to fix it but I was short on time. Together with my patacón I got a sweet corn arepa topped with cheese. It was awesome. Parking is in the back of the property besides the laundromat that is next door. Failing that, there's plenty of street parking. The neighborhood looks a little dicey, so lock up your cars and don't leave anything of value there.
Just moved to Long Beach so this is the First time visiting this restaurant and The food is amazing. My go to Columbia dish is Bandeja Campesina. If ever in Long Beach and want a taste of Colombia, you must try El Paisa.
Had a great time here! Food was amazing and tasted very authentic. Very good variety of dishes. They had a DJ as well playing very good music and many people got up to dance. The service is slow though. Do not try this place for a quick meal. In my opinion, it was worth the wait, but I hope they improve on that. All staff was very friendly and attentive though.
Authentic colombian food. For this opportunity I tried the “Menú del día” and Omg the soup took me back to my childhood, brought so many memories.

Great service, good was tasty. Ambience makes you feel at home. It also has a mini “mart” with snacks, traditional accessories (pulseras con la bandera) sombrero vueltiao, etc. my snack bill was higher than the meal 😂 Parking is a bit of a challenge.
Very good service and great traditional colombian food/restaurant.

This place tastes like home! They have authentic Colombian food, all well made. Nice decor, spacious, friendly and fast service. Easy parking in the back. Family friendly. No complaints here 👌 If you're looking for the best deal and want the "Colombian starter pack" order the Bandeja Típica for $25 - you get a nice portion of steak, huge portion of chicharrón, arepita, chorizo, rice, beans, avocado, sweet plantains and a fried egg. Everything with great taste. Cheaper than its big brother Bandeja Paisa. Try their ajiaco on Sundays only. Empanadas are a yes. Mora juice delicious.
Another wonderful experience Picado Plato always delicious. If you're looking for something to new to inspire your taste buds and enjoy authentic food and drinks and music. Look for no further. Bring the family eat drink and be merry.
Excellent spot to eat and comfortable atmosphere. Not a cheap menu, but the food and sauces were really good. The only complaint I have is that the waiter (who was nice BTW) literally stood looking over us (at the end of the table, a foot away) as we were paying the bill and selecting the tip amount. Very awkward and not proper etiquette in my opinion.

Was in Long Beach awaiting the cruise and wanted to find a Colombian spot to eat at. The service was great! The workers there are helpful, so welcoming. The meat was not cooked in good oil, they use the same oil as what they cook the buñuelos in. So it didn’t have the best taste.. (he gave me a small piece and felt bad and brought me another piece which wasn’t needed but he was so sweet.) Brought to the hotel buñuelos and pandebonos for breakfast in the morning and they weren’t good. It was a slow night for them and the area isn’t that safe. I would give them another try earlier in the day and not so late.
Decent food and loud, but good colombian music. The service needs improvement though. They are nice, but not very attentive. They walk right by you, without checking on you. If you don’t mind it. I recommend you to visit this place.
Nice place to eat authentic Colombian food. Pictures are the empanadas (appetizer), Arroz con mariscos (rice with seafood) and a typical Colombian soda (Colombiana). Service could use some improvement.

The food was decent (not bad, not great), but the service was lackluster. The menu has no prices, the food was brought at different times (the first meal had already been finished when the second one was brought out), the waitress was indifferent when she spilled some beans on the table (didn’t attempt to clean it up and left it there). The prices turned out to be higher than I expected for the quality of the experience. The bottom line is that I likely won’t be coming back here any time soon.
I went to celebrate a friend's birthday and the place had a strange smell. Additionally, we ordered a mojarra (fish) and it was so hard and greasy, it was over-fried that they couldn't even eat it. I also ordered some plantains with hogao and it was salty, with a lot of oil and sharp cuts. I don't recommend the restaurant.
This restaurant surprise me. Because the food was ready is less than 5 minutes. A dish the is so long to serve. But this people made it so fast. The pork was so hard or the meats. I don't recommend this place at all 🤮
This is the second time I visited this place. First time, service was slow and server was very rude but I will say their empanadas were good but only if you have 40 min to wait for an order of 3. Ok so I decided to go back yesterday, I arrived at around 730ish we placed an order for empanadas we sat and waited. We waited 20 min for a bucket of beer, 40 min for empanadas, almost 45 for a picada. We also ordered arepas and they were burnt and not like a small grill burn but a whole side was deeply burnt. We had to keep getting up to ask about our order. Ok now the service, omg, this is the main reason I will not go back, the server (same one that served us both times mind you) was horrible. He seemed annoyed was completely rude and served us like we were bothering him. In conclusion, go here if you have about 2 hours to spare on lunch or dinner
