I ordered delivery from here to deliver a pizza to my mom. The pizza was left on the porch without notifying anyone as if we’re mind readers. I was not called nor did my mom hear anything from the delivery person. I would think they would let us know it was dropped off for the pizza can be eaten hot. I told my mom to check if anyone was outside since it has was 2 hours since I ordered and when she looked out the front door she saw the pizza there on the porch. I don’t even know how long it was there for and I tipped beforehand in the checkout. This service was not worth a tip. I wasn’t trying to treat my mom to cold pizza. I have sent an email to handle this privately but I have not received a response so I’ll just write a review publicly. I been wanting to try this place too but screw this place for not providing my mom a hot pizza. UPDATE The owners have responded to my email! I am happy to see that they cared to bring attention to the situation. They have offered me a refund and explained what happened. I will soon be ordering in person to try a pie myself!
My friend took me here because she wanted me to experience the magic that was the Grandmother Square! Little bread with cheese on it, and I LOVED IT! I definitely need to come back for the pepperoni Square because, unfortunately, pepperoni does go fast there, but that's okay because the cheese one sold me to come back for sure.
Perfection. Purplehaze pie pleases persnickety people pursuing pizza perfection. Pepperoni preference? Practically pheaven! Promises, promises. I know. But if you’re a fan of craftsmanship; if you like consistency when you’re buying a product, and if you are happy to reward excellence, this is the best thin crust pizza in a 25 mile radius. Period.
This is my favorite pizza spot in #longbeach. I usually get the Papa Joe which has italian sausage and mushrooms. It’s a thin crust, New York style pizza which in my book means it is easily foldable without the pizza falling apart…Which is the only way to eat a pizza. They don’t always have the same takeout hours per day, but check their website for when takeout is open. You can also dine in with their outside seating.
I can understand the hype! Best pizza I've had since moving to long beach. Perfect, crunch and chewiness to the dough. Ordered a white pizza, flavorful, and delicious. The cheese had just the right amount of salt and funk and spinach and ricotta rounded out the overall flavors. Can't wait to try their other pizzas.
Great and amazing pizzas. The dough that is made, is unique and next level. Started going to this place when they opened during the pandemic, and was hooked immediately. The pepperoni and the papa Joe pizzas are the best. Really miss this place since moving back to Spain. Not the cheapest pizza in the world, but worth every bite!
Finally got around to trying Little Coyote and it was well worth the hype! The white pizza was so delicious! The crust was not too thick or thin, the cheese was super flavorful, and the spinach was cooked perfectly. I definitely want to come back for a whole pizza next time. I might take it to go though because it does get super crowded! We ended up having to sit down on a bench down the street because all the tables were taken. So take out might be the way to go.
Came here on a last minute late night dinner idea, ordered the pizza online. Ended up getting there before the pickup window, got a glass of wine while we waited. The ambiance is definitely charming and welcoming, sat in the patio area. When we ordered our wine, the waitress took note of our online order and brought it to us when it was ready, they let us enjoy our pizza at the patio as well! The pizza was awesome, not too much sauce or toppings, the crust was light and crispy! Definitely a fun hip crowed, adding to the ambiance, definitely not your mom and dad's pizza shop. Will definitely be coming back.
Okay, I think this is my favorite pizza in the LA area (technically LBC) I live about 45 minutes away and will drive to this area just for some slices here! They have such a perfect NY style pizza crust that is just so tasty. I love the white pie, pepperoni and cheese, and their meatballs are incredible. It’s such a great spot to stop at on the way home back to LA from Rosie’s Dog Beach with my dog and have a slice and a beer.
I’ve been going to Little Coyote since the day they opened. We bought a bunch of slices on the first day and I fell in love with the white pie. It’s been my go to since and definitely my favorite pizza in Long Beach. I tried their Caesar salad and thought it was ok for the price. I still want to try their subs, but the white pie is always calling my name. I’ve only picked up or had it delivered. Staff is always super friendly when we drop in.
There’s a sense of joy that comes with eating pizza from Little Coyote. Last week, I had their classic slice, and it was as good as always—crispy crust, fresh toppings, and delicious sauce.
After a long day, I sought comfort in a warm meal and found the best New York pizza that combined a perfectly crispy crust with a rich, tangy sauce, and the service, though a bit scattered, felt incredibly genuine.
Best pizza in LB! As someone who was born and raised here, I’ve had the chance to try a little of everywhere. Every pizza has something unique about it but over time some places have decreased in quality or the flavor is not there but Little Coyote pizza is delicious from the crust to the sauce and cheese. I’m also someone who likes many toppings on their pizza and I find cheese alone to be plain but my god their cheese slices alone are tasty and full of flavor and their employees are really nice people which explains the good vibes and pizza. I’ve only just tried their pizza about a month ago but I’ve embarrassingly been here more than 3 times and plan on ordering again this week.
This is the best pizza in long Beach. Their cheese pizza and pepperoni pizza are consistently great. My favorite is the pineapple express pizza and I'm so glad they made that one permanent. The best part of little coyote is the weekly special. I often get bored with the same selection but with them having a special only available for 3 days and then disappearing, is so satisfying. And 90% of the time the new creations are amazing. The most recent one i had was the pastrami sandwich one and it was perfection.
Was just introduced to this place at Pizza Fest LA. Absolutely outstanding. They were my favorite of the day. Stopped by the booth 3 times. Nice lite dough. Great sauce. High quality pepperoni. Staff was friendly and immediately made you felt welcome. I look forward to trying more items from their menu.
A bit pricey, but honestly, it's worth it and I would definitely be returning. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, Caesar salad, and a cannoli and was pleased with everything. The salad greens were fresh and the croutons tasted homemade. The pizza was delicious, and I'd say it's probably one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Also give the ranch a go. I'm pretty sure that was homemade, too-- it had a nice touch of dill.
Great New York style pizza. There's a few tables if you want to dine in
I came to Long Beach for the Grand Prix and stumbled across this cool place. I got a slice of grandma’s pizza and they were no regrets. Grandma must’ve been a thick girl because the slice was filling in the pepperoni was perfect. Not to mention they put some fresh herbs on top of the pizza. Definitely gonna be coming back for another slice in the future.
Small quaint place, a little hidden gem on 4th St. You can get big single slices for about $5 each. Their pizza is delicious! The dough itself was so yummy!
A nearly perfect pizza, crust is nearly flawless and cooked to a crispy perfection, sauce is flavorful but personally would have preferred just ever so slightly a tad more to make this a 10 out of 10. The pepperoni is the perfect amount of spicy. 9.8 out of 10 truly the highest quality pizza in all of Long Beach
If we are talking pizza this place is 5 star. The small menu of interesting flavors does not disappoint. We got 1 of the white pizza and 1 margarita pizza both were phenomenal. Ingredients were fresh and delicately balanced. We got a Caesar salad with the pizza and it was pretty average. The croutons were too hard and not much besides lettuce and croutons to the salad, but wasn’t bad. We just moved in down the street and will definitely be back for more pizza nights.
Little Coyote's customer service goes above and beyond the call of duty. They care deeply about their customers.
This is definitely the Best Pizza in Long Beach. Are you tired of greasy soggy pizza!? Never again! Little Coyote has delicious crust and great variety of pizza! Like crusty leopard spots? Check. Like Pizza that’s amazing after reheating? Check. New fun flavors!? Check! Eat. This. Pizza. You won’t be disappointed! Also they have high quality Cesar dressing and hot chili oil. These things matter! 10/10
One of the heavy hitters in the Long Beach pizza world! Awesome thin crust pizza slices and pies. This is not your average pizza joint, this is the good stuff, made with purpose 🍕❤️
What is a small business without its charm! I love the fact the pizza is hot and it’s delicious!!! Staff where friendly and the environment although small spaced was ambient and friendly! Walls are filled with branded boxes and everything! Parking might be an issue but totally worth it!
The perfect place for pizza lovers! The crust is always just right, and the toppings taste like they were freshly prepared. A great spot for a satisfying meal.
Amazing pizza !!! They had an extremely busy day with difficulties and still accommodated us so well! Shout out to the 3 girls killing it !
I love their pizza, the price was good and portion was good as well. Order for party and hang out all the time. Recommended.
I've had their pizza—it's pretty good. But I'm giving 5 stars because the Classic Italian sub, the "Italiano," is next level. I thought $15 was a little steep for a sandwich, but two bites in, I was sold. It easily competes with Jersey Mike's in both taste and quality. The bread is fresh, the aioli is bomb, and the whole thing just hits perfectly. It's also a solid size—sometimes we split one and still feel satisfied. 🔥
The pizza here is absolutely incredible – authentic New York-style with the perfect crust! The atmosphere is cozy, and the outdoor seating under the lights makes it even better. Definitely my new favorite spot in Long Beach!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great Late-Night Pizza Spot in Long Beach! We stopped by Little Coyote Pizza in Long Beach later in the evening on a Sunday and had a great experience. Despite the later hour, we received prompt and friendly service, which was much appreciated. We ordered two pies—one pepperoni and one meat lovers—and both came out fairly quickly and were delicious. You can tell care goes into the food, and it really hit the spot. This place is truly a little hidden gem in Long Beach that’s definitely worth trying. We’ll absolutely be back again! 🍕✨
We used to come to Little Coyote regularly when we lived in the area three years ago, so when we came back last week for a quick visit, it was a must-stop for us. And it did not disappoint. Their white pie is so delicious—just thinking about it makes your mouth water. It does have a bit of a kick, so if you’re sensitive to spice like I am, I recommend asking for the peppers to be removed. We always add pepperoni, which takes it up another notch and makes it even better. Seating is limited, and the pizzas do take a while to make, so ordering ahead is definitely the way to go. We usually order in advance and then sit down to eat. So glad to see the quality is still just as good as we remembered. Worth the wait every time!
Since the first time we stopped here, we have been here three more times. Fantastic pizza. We started at the granny squares slices, my wife’s favorite, which are a little thicker with the bread. But their regular flat slices are the best, in my opinion. Toppings are delicious and fresh. We tried a Meat Lovers pizza, and it was loaded with pepperoni, sausage, and perfectly cooked bacon, and begging to be saturated with Parmesan cheese, which soaks right in. This pizza is even as good as, maybe better, the next day, cold. They also have antipasto and Caesar salads, large and small size, and while the Caesar is just croutons, lettuce, and dressing, all ingredients are made fresh and the dressing is incredible. Very tasty. I would also recommend the meatball sub, cheesy goodness stuffed with succulent meatballs. They offer beer, wine, and soda for drinks. Seating inside is limited but there are a few tables outside for al fresco dining. Tuesdays are BOGO half off on their whole pizzas, and Wednesdays offer happy hour prices on slices.
This place is incredible! Such a good tasting pizza. Really fresh ingredients and tomato sauce. A little disappointed that there is only one vegan option but it was really tasty. Just know that their dough is very thin and it does tend to get very wet with their sauce, so I would recommend eating at their location. Not sure if it’d hold very well without becoming extremely soggy. The ingredients also move around a lot so just know that it takes a little more effort to eat than your regular slice. Give them a try if you are around the area!
Really excellent pizza. Large slices perfect to share, good size for two. Food is ready quick and there’s an outdoor seating area to eat and or wait for your food. Parking is relatively easy. Worth the drive! They have tables set out front to safely take orders outside. Nice but pretty cramped outside dining area. Great new selection of merch, very cool color options and tees and sweatshirts, as well as mugs.
Such a nice pizza place! The food is delicious, the restaurant itself is a vibe w/ a great patio as well, friendly staff, & close to lots of fun shops. They sell by the slice weekdays from 1200-1400 & have a nice selection of drinks or water. A Long Beach gem—check it out if you can! Street parking is available, also.
Within the city limits of Long Beach, this is the best pizza, IMO. New York-style pizza that is absolutely delicious. Friendly service. They have a great selection of craft beers as well. I usually take my pie to go since parking in this area is a big challenge. The times that I've eaten there, it's been a positive experience.

The staff at little coyote on 4th are doing the lords work, super amazing people making BOMB pizza! This place is a pizza lovers dream :) and the salad is fantastic too.
The pizza is really good at the Little Coyote. We had the daily special... A Jalapeno Popper pizza. WOW!! What a great pizza. The service was really good. Everyone there is friendly especially one, Elizabeth. She literally went above and beyond for service. I would go back just for how she treated us. The only complaint would be their texting system. We were told our pizza would take about 30 minutes and we were supposed to get a text when our pizza was ready. We probably waited an extra 10-15 minutes. Our pizza was in a heat rack waiting. The texting is a gimmick to get your number for marketing. Great little spot. It won't disappoint.
Crispy thin crust with delicious toppings. The pepperoni pizza is my favorite — perfect balance of flavor and crunch. The staff is upbeat and fast. It’s a small place but cozy and stylish. Great pizza spot for a casual night out
Food is so fresh! Everything is housemade - ranch sauce and marinara were delicious, pizzas were great, Stromboli was phenomenal, and so was the sandozza. Will definitely be coming back. Wonderful service and good sitting area outside to soak up the sun.

Delightful place to get a yummy thin slice or robust thick grama slice. The grandma square (cheese) was my favorite out of the 3 (pepperoni and white). The bread is fluffy/airy and lightly sauced and cheesed packed with flavor from ground peppers and more cheese. The white slice was delicious and the ricotta was creamy. The pepperoni was crisp on the edges not overly greasy or cheesy or saucy. Paired well with an adult beverage and eaten by the sea.
Excellent spot for quality pizza. Solid 4 stars. Great crust with that crunch on your first bite all the way to the last bites. Wonderful thin crust that is crispy and doughy balance. I took one star away for the sauce lacking flavor. Average sauce and could have a touch more garlic and pepper. Would have really made a drastic difference and elevated the slice to 5 stars. Excellent service and wonderful people. Quick turnaround on a single slice and a full pie.
cool little pizza place with great and fast service. the whole pizza is 16 inch in diameter and are cut into 6 slices so it's foldable. it's thin crust pizza and it's not too oily. you can add toppings like sausage to the veggie supreme. overall, it's delicious, not the best i've had, but i would return when i'm in the area. expect to pay around $15-$25 per person
Highly recommend this place if you like thin, wide pizzas slices you have to fold, kinda like in new york. The white pie is rich and tasty. Love their papa joe's, just because I prefer tomato sauce over white sauce. Haven't had their vegan pizza yet; that's next on the list. 20 bucks for one large pizza that will have approximately 6-8 large slices. How they slice it is a little inconsistent but the size of the whole pizza is the same.
We had the White Pizza and it was excellent. They have some outdoor tables and chairs set up so you can eat it there, however they have no side dishes or appetizers, they had canned sodas but no ice to keep them cold. This is a great take out place, but not so hot for dine in. If you're looking a couple of slices, a drink and a cool place to sit down or looking for a pizza to go, then this is the place.
The flavor and toppings were awesome but the pizza was overly greasy and was really floppy. I'm going to yield this one to being a undercooked because 5 minutes in the oven and it was way better Gonna give this one a 7/10. Flavor was great but dough just wasn't there. Especially for this cost to taste ratio. The people were great at the place!
It's one of the best place places to get pizza it's a little pricey but the meat lovers is probably your best bet. The Ambiance is absolutely beautiful. You can have your trace of a bottle of water as they can give it to you. But you may have to check up on your pizza when it's ready.
If you're into crisp pizza then this is the place. The pizza had that crisp crust that I love. Not floppy. Me and friends ordered the pepperoni and the Margherita which both were good. I will say the pizza doesn't travel well. It still held up after a 15 minute drive back home but I would say you should definitely eat the pizza fresh. Go check them out ✌🏽
For a pizza that is quality while dining in the delivery isn’t up to par. Food came cold and delivery time changed 2 times one was 20 minutes and the other almost a 30 min delay. The food was picked up 45 min prior. This is something that should change or do away with delivery completely. This all could’ve been avoided if there wasn’t a delivery guy that decided to pick up 2 orders before delivering mine. Not cool Little Coyote. Did a reheat to salvage the slices. I will order again of course because the pizza is good but will not have delivery service until it’s fixed. This hurts the business for others
I had the Papa Joe's Pizza here with sausage and mushrooms the sauce was very tasty the crust was good a little flimsy but it wasn't so bad I really enjoyed this place this is my second time here I actually sat down instead of doing a takeout and I just really enjoyed it I can't really say much bad about the pizza it's actually tasty
The place smelled amazing as soon as we walked in. The pepperoni granny slice was burned but the other 2 pizzas we ordered were delicious. I recommend the white pie and the customer service was great. Plenty of areas to sit and cute shops all around.
Great little pizza spot. We had a full pizza that was half pepperoni and half cheese, a slice of white, the classic Italian sub and the antipasto salad. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get the pizza again, but if it were in my own neighborhood I would probably eat there all the time. The sandwich and salad were both huge. Great little patio space.
There wasn’t many people for a Friday night. We sat at a table and waited 15 minutes until someone came outside and we had to wave down the server. We waited another 20 minutes for the pizza to come out. Pizza was good, thin crust and plenty of toppings. Most of the toppings fell off when we put it on our plates. The wine was not the best. They come and drop off the pizza and don’t come back to check. They were friendly but slow. We still enjoyed the pizza.

One of our favorite pizza spots! Sadly the caesar salad + italian sandwich ingredient quality has gone down. The salad used to have perfect flat croutons, a perfectly cooked egg + fresh parm. Please bring it back! We’ll still order the pizza but will pass on the sammy and salad for future.
Great pizza, definitely worth the trip for me. You'll find this place on 4th in Long Beach among the second hand stores, bars, and skate shops. We have nearly always ordered a meat lovers or a pepperoni pie. The crust isn't soggy or super thick, it's just right and very nice. The sauce and cheese are proportioned just right. I would prefer the price be a bit lower, current pricing for a pie is preventing some return and new business from a prime source: college students from nearby CSULB.

I was hungry and wanted a quick snack. They do not serve pizza in slice after 2pm. Sever was friendly and helpful. I did not want to buy a whole pie, so I ordered the grandma pepperoni square. The wait was around 10 minutes. This is a thick crust square pizza. The edge of the crust is very crispy. The crust was a bit dry. The pepperoni was decent. I would not try this pizza square again as it has too much crabs to it. Street parking is available.
Hands-down, one of the best pizzas I've had in Long Beach. Tons of pepperoni on thin crust, greasy New York style. Sauce was perfection, the pepperoni was old school curly style - my favorite! What's lacking here is ambience and service. When my friend and I visited, they were playing hard core metal quite loudly. It was obviously for the employees and not the customers. Doesn't make you want to stay and have a conversation; rather, makes you want to run out the door. Ugh. They do have interesting IPAs, but I really don't understand the emphasis on wine, particularly when the music is so obnoxious. If you're a wine drinker, you'd be more inclined to Jazz or Yacht Rock. Service was annoying because it was slow and the servers were bickering with each other. Order your pie to go & enjoy it at home.
UPDATE: I am saddened to say that I will no longer be going to little coyote, the price jumps are absolutely insane. Went from $24 for a white pie to $27 and $1 for ranch to $1.50. On top of that they are now charging a "service fee". Absolutely ridiculous! Also, they changed their POS system without telling their customers, so all the rewards points I had are gone. Such a shame : ( I even updated my original review recently too. Second Review: I have updated my review because Little Coyote has stepped it up. They have seemed to become more organized with their operations and the pizza is delicious! (just make sure it's not burnt). The white pie is my favorite and it's always so flavorful and pairs well with their ranch! Once in awhile, we get the Italiano which is always super tasty. The one thing I think they can improve on is sending the texts when the order is ready, they are not super consistent with that. Also, just overall quality control. There have been a few times where my pizza has been burnt. Other than that, I think they have definitely improved! Old review: "I came here the other weekend and man, it might of been my last time going. I got a text saying that my pizza was ready (an hour after I ordered) and I walked in to a long line. The girl ringing people up was new so I gave her the benefit of the doubt but everything just seemed so unorganized and she was flustered. There were a lot of people waiting and complaining about the wait time. I finally made my way up to the register and I asked for my order, she gave me the box from the heater and I looked to see if my dips were in the box, they were missing. So I asked for them, and I was given one sauce (my chili oil) & I had to ask again for my ranch. The employees seemed super scattered, looking for ranch. And then one of them tells the cashier, "just tell them we're out of ranch". That was wild to me, like how?! She told me they were out, without even offering to make it right. I had to ask for my refund for the ranch (yeah, it's a dollar, but it's the principle). This use to be my favorite pizza spot, now it's gone extremely downhill..long wait times, the new staff seems completely unorganized, and the pizza isn't the same. The crust has become extremely floppy, it's lost its crisp. This is so sad to write out cause I was hoping this wouldn't happen. However, with the new ownership, I'm not sure what went wrong. P.S. And don't fall for these extremely obvious fake reviews."
ordered the sicilian style and our squares arrived slightly cold. the cheese wasn’t fully melted unfortunately. will be back though to give it another try.
Visited Little Coyote Saturday and opted to sit outside as indoor dining is not yet available. Was not super stoked with the overall experience, but the pizza was super tasty. I got the slices, which is currently Sicilian style. The pepperonis were super flavorful, as was the sauce. The crust was a little oily for my taste. My main issue with the experience is that while they are offering outdoor seating, they are not maintaining it. The tables were dirty and there was no attempt to clean them off when they saw we sat down at a dirty table. I fully get staffing but when they're not taking orders the rep is just standing at the table and can see it. Also many of the other locations on the street have sanitizer at the tables for this exact issue but not LC. I'd love to visit post pandemic to rate again.
Tried this location since the other newer one on los coyotes was so good. The pizza was excellent but when I tasted the meatball sub, I was highly disappointed! The meatball sub at the other location was delicious, the best I’d ever had. This one was not even as good, the meatballs tasted like they had been frozen. They did not taste homemade or fresh like the meatball sub I ordered at the other little coyote. My recommendation: if you want a meatball sub go to the second location on los coyotes, 1000 times better. UPDATE: lowering one star since notified by my boyfriend: “Okay so you can add to your review of that place that in addition to being rude when I got my order that they kept my card and when I went to get it back they had a whole stack of other people's cards because apparently they don't give anyone's cards back.” When I asked him about the rudeness he said “The guy at the counter acted like I was wasting his time.” This happened on Sunday 2/25/24 around 5pm.

This place used to be better. We keep trying it hoping it will be better but it’s just ok. The crust is always undercooked even when we order it well done. Last night was the last time we will have it. It’s sad because it’s walking distance for us.
Been wanting to try it for a couple of years now and we happen to be in the area so we came to try it out. It was my first time trying it and I would say it’s just like any other establishment saying it’s “New York pizza” but it’s truly not. Dough and sauce are mid. The subs are probably best thing in there. Also don’t forget to pay for parking got hit with ticket. Establishment got warn first time customers with a sign.
I was unable to "phone order", even though I live 2 blocks away... Okay, you are new... so slack given. So I ordered in person. The text message system was nice too. But... when I got home with my pizza, it was burned on the bottom and edges were way too burned to an unacceptable level. The middle was not cooked well and too doughy (if that's the adjective). On the good side, nice and friendly staff. The toppings were pleasing and fresh... I'm not sure I will order from there again. I am a busy guy, and to have a poorly cooked pizza after an hour plus wait does not work for me. Peace.
the poor reviews here have nothing to do with the pizza, and if they do, peeps don't know what they're talking about. this is the best pizza in town - hands down. delicious all the way. amazing crust, delicious toppings. the dough is special and the ingredients are top notch. definitely definitely give this new spot on the block a fair shot! Update (12/02/25): this place changed owners and now legitimately sucks. Sad state of affairs. Quality is way down. Pizza is soggy, recipes have changed. Much better pizza to be had elsewhere. Tragic.
I've lived here for 4 years and used to love this place. This year I've had bad experiences. Pickup pizza is cold even though I arrive on time and they get out of the warmer. I strongly suspect they've started using a conveyor oven. That is no way to treat a successful pizza place you acquire. It's insulting to your loyal customers. Not as crispy crust as before, though I appreciate the less hectic, more professional vibe than before. But the food quality has to catch up. Not feeling coming back. The ceasar salad had stale croutons and no lemon either.
Welp. A perfect storm, a bad day, staff trippin, roster changes? All we know the wait was long, and the pizza wasn’t hittin, and to make matters worse it was cold. The bright spot the manager or pizza runner was hustling and beaming with positive vibes. Our Sicilian was “grandmas” didn’t look like the others. Sorry
I've ordered delivery twice now (always try to give places a second shot). Bur both times the pizza arrived cold and were pretty awful. The margharita was just soggy tomato sauce with a few pieces of mozzarella here and there. Not sure who wants that. The pepperoni slice was sauce and pepperoni on some super thick crusty bread. All in all, very disappointing and shocked that this is one of the top recommended pizza places in Long Beach. Pretty angry that I paid $50 for some cold, not-so-great pizza.
I’ve always loved Little Coyote in Long Beach. Their pizzas are consistently delicious, and the atmosphere is always great. However, my recent experience on 2/27/25 has left me incredibly disappointed and I’m honestly not sure if I’ll return anytime soon. I went in around 7 PM and there was a noticeable issue with service. The girl working at the register was so incompetent, it was almost painful to watch. She struggled with simple tasks like taking orders, processing payments, and answering basic questions. It was obvious to everyone around that she wasn’t equipped for the job, as a crowd of frustrated customers gathered around the register, all complaining about the delays and confusion. This experience completely soured my view of Little Coyote. I’ve been a loyal customer for a while and I even own 2 Corduroy hats, but I won’t be returning until I’m certain this issue is addressed. The girl working the register yesterday is dragging the entire business down, and as long as she’s employed there, I can’t recommend this place anymore. It’s such a shame because the food is really great, but service matters, and this was just unacceptable. Waiting over 50 minutes for one slice of pizza is just ridiculous. The worst part about that was that it was clear that the girl wasn't Even telling the kitchen to make the orders because she was so overwhelmed.
Pizza was good, but it took an hour to get it. We got the pizza at 8:50, then got yelled at by a very high staff member at 9:06 that the dining area wasn't a hangout spot. Probably won't be back again, since the experience ended on an uncomfortable note
The pink looking sauce wasn't the greatest, tasted like mayonnaise? Maybe a slice, definitely not 2. Should of just gotten their regular Pepperoni pizza instead of their Pineapple Express they suggested. Not to mention their minimal seating. Bright side they sell wines and spirits!

I understand that there is a local hype but there’s also a horrible issue going on with Long Beach restaurants and the ones that are more or less hipster restaurants every time I order I have a bad experience I ordered a single cheese square to go and while waiting outside They serve two tables that ordered after I did and after waiting 40 minutes for my pizza a “single slice” I received cold pizza . Understanding and working with food there should be no reason to wait almost an hour for a to go order when you order out front there just isn’t any excuses for that excessive wait . And for the pizza to not be fresh doesn’t make sense
worst margarita pizza i’ve ever had. we order from this place regularly and it’s getting worse and worse. pizza can be bad. but it’s almost an achievement that this place can make a pizza gross.
This is some of the worst pizza I've had, super thin crust but zero crunch, overly greasy, poor quality cheese. Yuck !!!!!
Came here to grab a couple slices pretty early Friday evening. Like another review mentioned, the line was super long and the staff seemed flustered and confused. Stood in line for 20 minutes watching the team of 5-6 people manage to get out 3 orders. Super unorganized - there’s no separate line for pickups, ordering or deliveries. Nor did any of the staff bother to communicate anytjing to everyone standing in line. I ended up just leaving and walking to Canada pizza down the street. Probably ordered and was eating by the time I would have been at the front of little coyote line.
I had to wait for my pizza at the restaurant for an extra 20 minutes. At no point did I receive an apology or any offer to make things right. The tried taste and experience of Little Coyote is no longer there. The cheese was gummy, and it does not solidify, nor does it taste like real cheese. While waiting at the restaurant I overheard the staff talking about mixing a batch of regular cheese and vegan cheese. Little did I know they must have used vegan cheese in my order too, and yet they didn’t say a single thing. I want my money back, I do NOT want to go back to Little Coyote in the future. Another reason why pre-tipping places is such a bad idea. This is a formerly great restaurant that has really gone downhill. Right now they are not even picking up their phone. I wonder how many others noticed how their pizzas were messed up tonight (March 7, 2025). Cheez-us.
I always deliver from this place through grubhub, the 2 new employees at the counter need some training. Tables needed to be cleaned. There were a lot of orders but the front was slow enough to clean around. I was told by the gentleman that my order was 7 minutes away, 10 minutes passed, 20 minutes, after 30 minutes I decided to cancel. When they tell a customer how long the wait time is, it should be realistic. They should under promise and over deliver, i don't mind waiting but when they do that it's a bad look, I told the customer in 10 minutes I would be on the way so that makes me look bad and the restaurant as well. The food looks and smells good, but with the customer service tonight makes me not want to come and eat here and deliver.
So I was there last night, 03/01/25, to pickup an Uber Eats order. Waited in line so long, that I got a request for a second order just as I got to the register. At first, the tall lady told me she had the 2nd order (1 pizza) but not the first order which makes absolutely no sense. She told me that 1 of the 2 pizzas from my first order was ready (2 pizzas and a salad). Because of the mass confusion I witnessed with the customers before me in line, I asked her to please check the food warmer for my order. It didn't make sense that only 1 of the 2 pizzas was made. She glanced in the warmer and said it wasn't there. She asked the back for the order and they told her they had already gave it to her. She ended up yelling to the back to make another of the missing pizza. I reminded her that I had a salad with my order, she just brushed me off and said that she knows, she can read the order on the register. There's an upright fridge right behind the cashier and I didn't see any salads in there. Now, I've been here 30 minutes waiting for orders that should have been ready by the time I arrived. I asked the other lady for the status of my order (so many pizzas were being given to them from the back and stacking up on the ledge). The 2nd lady opens the warmer and immediately finds my 1st order. It was freaking there the whole time and I wasted 30 minutes there! Now, I have the 2 pizzas and no salad. I can't leave because the full order wasn't ready. The front of the house only asks the back of the house to make the salads when they would find the pizzas. 🤦♀️ The back of the house is on point. The issue that needs a lot of attention is the front of the house. From my observation, I hope the owner or manager could do the following: 1. Clear out the cluttered front counters. It leaves no space for staff to stage/pass out orders. 2. Do not have the front house staff keep opening all of the pizza boxes to see what's in them. That makes the food cold and customers will blame us, the drivers for the food temp. 3. Since it was so unorganized, have the back of the house write the order # on the visible edge of the box. No need to continously open the boxes. 4. Don't have the front of the house packaging the condiments (ranch) while you have customers in the front. Have the back of the house do that and have a certain amount packed and in the front fridge every day for easy grab & go. 5. Move the register to the left. That way, clearly order on the leftside of the counter and pick-up orders only on the right. 6. Learn how to organize your tickets in the front.
I had a very burnt pie i honestly used to like it when it was the old owner, the taste now is completely different and leaves a bad taste in the mouth, they keep most of the products in the hallway with a very hot environment, the restrooms are disguising and mostly have flies scattered, the kitchen looks filthy with what looks like back mold on the walls, this honestly isn’t what people put it out to be and they really try to buy you and tell you, you’ll get a free pizza if you leave a good review, they are seriously struggling and its sad seeing a very well known spot go to down hill.
Warning: Unacceptable Treatment I need to put this out there as a warning to anyone considering this place and, frankly, to the owners themselves. Your business lives or dies by how you treat people. Our experience was genuinely shocking. We were still eating our pizzas .. pizzas we'd received maybe fifteen minutes earlier , when this particularly angry staff member started screaming at us, telling us to leave immediately. This wasn't just rude; it was condescending, intentionally mean-spirited, and just plain obnoxious. The person even bizarrely claimed they had to come in on their day off just to clean our table. That kind of behavior is indicative of someone that is not in the right place or frame of mind. I don't care how good the food is. If you treat customers like garbage, they won't come back. We put our money where we value both the food and the service, and in this case, the service completely ruined the experience. Buyer beware: we are absolutely not returning to this place. The way we were treated by that specific employee was horrible.
Little Coyote, what happened? Things have definitely gone downhill over the past few months. Shockingly rude service and the pizza crust was too soggy, not as good as it used to be. My family and I ordered at 8pm, to eat at the sidewalk tables. They were busy and behind, our pizzas came out after almost an hour, near their 9pm closing time. At 9:05 we were just finishing our last bites and a woman came out to tell us that they're closed and we have to go now. She was rude and wouldn't let it go, going on about having to come in on her day off and "this is not a hangout spot." You would think after having us wait so long they would give us a few minutes to eat 🙄 Next time I need my NY style pizza, I'll go to Milana's.
We used to get the White Pie here locally for 3 years for atleast $24. Now it’s ranging $28.40 with an added service fee($1.40), that’s a 20% increase. WELP. Goodbye Little Coyote.
To management: please update your online ordering services to close 15-20 minutes before your actual closing time. It's horrible customer service to cancel orders on ordering systems (I used DoorDash) because the kitchen is closing. I understand the reasoning but this is just not cool, it's something that can be easily fixed. It would be better for you, your employees and your customers if you just changed the closing time on all your online ordering systems. I'm a loyal customer and this was very upsetting. Again- not mad at the reasoning, it's just an oversight
