Local bar with great American food, great atmosphere, and great drinks. They have occasional live music and a wonderful sitting area outside. The staff is friendly.

Their food is amazing but pickles on an eggs Benedict.. GROSS. Get rid of the southwest eggs benedict. It's not southwest-ing anything. Way better off just selling a traditional eggs benedict. The food is amazing. I just had to say something about that menu item. Sometimes you can get trapped in a drunk conversation with the owners. I've never met owners of a bar that habitually hung out at their own bar. Kinda weird.

Phenomenal staff, good food, and great pricing. No smoking indoors, so my girlfriend really appreciates me not smelling when I come home from a night out with the boys. One time, I told Beck and Sarah I was on a funk music kick and next thing I know they played it for me the entire time I was there. In another instance, Beck went above and beyond to make PBR available just to cater to new regulars coming in. Big Cat is okay.

We dropped by for brunch on a whim and are already planning our next visit - delicious food full of flavor, great specials, and cozy atmosphere without being stifling. There were too many tasty-looking options on the menu, so we'll just have to head back to try something new next time. If you are in a hurry, though, plan accordingly - the food is all made from scratch and worth the wait, but if you're rushing, you may be antsy.

We love Savage Tavern and usually go for the drinks. Today we went for brunch and everything was exceptional! The bartenders had to take over as servers as they were short handed but they did an amazing job taking care of everyone. Sara and Ashley we will be back!

It's a cool, local, chill spot. They've got a small but cozy back patio. The drinks are cheap and they have all kinda of drink specials. The food is AMAZING!!! Now, dont expect restaurant food, it's pub food, and it appears they did it that way on purpose. It's only about 20 items or so, but everything looks and sounds DELICIOUS. I cant wait to go back and try the other 4 things I couldn't decide on!!!

Great appearance. Love the staff and service. Super friendly and appreciative. They drove us shrimp and crawfish ALL the way from Louisiana. Amazing! Love them and all they offer! Will suggest this bar 150% everyday.

This bar is essentially my next door neighbor and let me tell you there’s a different atmosphere here than with other local bars/restaurants, and I’ve been to all of them. Family feel to it and some of the best food I’ve had in lubbock. With this location and the growth their bound to experience, this will be a hot spot for years to come!! The Sunday brunch is too good to miss. I love this bar!

I am 13 so I can not tell you about the drinks but we had breakfast and the biscuits and gravy was amazing and the atmosphere was so nice. We played cornhole and jenga outside

Every time I go to Savage it’s a good experience. What makes it better is Sara. She is always on top of things and never lacks customer service. Sara is always so welcoming and warm, I feel like I’ve known her forever. Drinks, music and great food aside, Sara is why I keep going back!

Great place if you're hungry for brunch type food!

I had never been to Brunch. My wife was going because it was her friends birthday. I went along with her because, why not. The place was packed. There was a buzz in the air. There was going to be a Drag show during brunch. So, the food was amazing. The drinks were great. The drag show was fun. It was a great overall experience.

This is a cool spot. My first time here. My bartender Sam was awesome eventhough she had to deal with some entitled girls that gave her attitude when their friends ID got rejected. She handled it professionally and as she should have. 10 outta 10 will stop back in when I'm back in Lubbock I also want to add the food is freaking amazing. . 😎

My husband and i had brunch at this establishment this afternoon and it was fabulous! They seemed to be short handed with servers so a LOVELY bartender, Sara, took care of us. The food was exceptional and the drinks were great! We will return! Sara and Ashley made our visit very well worth it. Will return!

Excellent breakfast and brunch! Lots of vegan options, too! I went next door originally to IHOP and the place was way too crowded. I came here and was pleasantly surprised by Ariana's FRIENDLY service and phenomenal menu. Great breakfast drinks-- not like IHOP. We'll be back!

Have been here for brunch in the past, and it was good, but decided to come in for dinner today. Had the corn bites, which were very good, a popper burger which was awesome, curly fries with fantastic queso, and my kid had the chicken sandwich wich she enjoyed. Our tiny waitress did a great job. Great bar food place. If you haven't been you should try it.

Cool place, great chef prepared food! If you come here though, DO NOT park in the skooners parking lot, they will 100% tow your car and charge you $317. There’s a sign on the door about this but if you’re not paying attention, you’ll miss it. Brunch was such a good time, you’ll have a blast!

The environment is quite cozy, food and mimosas were really tasty. Our waitress was a doll!!! She was very attentive and motivated and just over all in a great mood. No underage drinking allowed. They do check ID'S which is also a plus.

We love this place! It has become our go to spot! Chiltons are amazing (cucumber lime or mango are a must try)! Food is always good, french fries are bomb and the ranch is house made! We went for Sunday brunch at 12:30pm. The staff was great. We had the French toast, avocado toast, and churo chicken and waffles. All were great.

Went for trivia night. We had a blast the food was a little expensive, and there was no wait service so we had to order at the bar. But overall we've been 3 times now and it's always been a nice evening. Drinks are good and reasonably priced.

My family celebrated Easter Brunch last Sunday, all 19 of us. Our server was the Best!!! The food was great, the wide variety of adult beverages was amazing. We wound up staying for 5 hours on the patio. It was awesome!!!

Came here today after getting a recommendation from close family that went to Tech. Great atmosphere and Great service . We just had appetizers, we got the Jalapeño Poppers (10/10) and the Wonton Chips & White Queso (15/10). Surprised it was slower , such a nice hidden gem on University. 100% Recommend.

I've been going to savage for a few years, and I've gotta say I'm a huge fan of the changes. The Tiki theme is awesome, and done really well. I had the Zombie & the bao pork buns. The zombie was boozy, and brought me back to west coast tiki bars. 100% would get it again after trying the others. The bao was a 10/10. Service is always great, and all the staff really make you feel welcome. Cant wait for the full tiki menu to drop!!

I had planned to go to 4/20 brunch on Sunday, but the banker couldn't make it. I had a brand new high performance e-scooter I wanted to test out, so I ride up that evening to lay eye balls on it. It was easily found and I rolled inside with my scooter and asked if it was ok she said out on the patio, there was an outlet if I needed to charge. I asked what they had she said they had a collection of Lubbock IPA brews. She said what do you like? I said thick and bitter, she grabbed a dark port. It was wonderful. Next a pilsner and she chose a can. I said Bottle? She said that was her choice. Delicious. Thirst quenching. The next was barkeep's choice and she just poured the glass and it was like dessert but it took sweet like a lemon wafer. I found the staff and the folks very friendly and an inviting vibe. I picked the one night it dead, and it was awesome. I still plan on hitting that brunch. They were glad to tell me all about it because evidently it's amazing. The Brunch drink menu was enough for me to come and see.

The Nashville hot chicken and red velvet waffles were so fkn good!! The chicken had a delicious crispy batter, which was actually spicy and so juicy! The red velvet was drizzled with chocolate sauce and came with syrup on the side, which I appreciated to control the sweetness. The mimosa carafe was only $9! Such a steal! And they were delicious!! We tried grapefruit and cranberry. My son had the basket case (scrambled eggs and no veggies). The bacon and the papas were crispy, and he really enjoyed it!

Came here for brunch for the first time and we absolutely loved it! Service was great and the food was delicious. We got an order of B-bombs w/ caramel sauce, a brunch bowl w/ pulled pork and over easy eggs and the Cowboy Benedict. It was all so delicious! Perfect place to go when you don’t want to wait at more crowded places for breakfast. Will definitely be coming back here again!

Love the outdoor patio because I can drink and smoke and watch football on a big screen TV. 2.50 beers till 8:00. Will definitely come back to watch the tech game here or an NFL game. Staff was very courteous food was good.

Met a friend for an early lunch so this eatery was not busy, but the food was spectacular and the service was impeccable. Make sure you order the cheese sticks! I will definitely be returning. (Don't mind the green tint in the photos, I think they still had St. Paddy's lighting up lol)

Very good food. They are not shy about using herbs and spices (not hot, just flavorful). Fun dish names. Good atmosphere. Food was a little slow coming out but they were busy.

It's a really good place for everything. You can have a great meal or spend time with friends at night. They have live music on Fridays. Great prices!

Very relaxed atmosphere. Drinks are cold and are made very well. The bartender Tim is a true asset to the place , he is a great bartender and host and the reason most people go back. Try it out you will see .

All I had was a margarita on the rocks, but it was still a good margarita. It's a good place to go in the middle of a hot day. I'm sure I'll be back for another drink.

We went for brunch on a Sunday. Not too busy. Staff was very friendly. The breakfast bowl and the burrito were very good. Spicy bloody Mary's were good too. They don't have a huge selection of draft beer and the food was a little slow, but overall a good experience.

After the remodel, the bar is a total vibe. Between cozy little nooks, and a patio with an atmosphere of pure relaxation. Enjoy the cool and 'mostly' calm essence inside with wickedly cool table chandeliers that'll keep your inebriated or otherwise chemically dependent alter egos well dazzled, or move to the bar for lively conversations and regularly refilled libations!

My wife and I sat and waited for at least 15mins before the waitress, who obviously didn't want to serve us came over. Definitely felt discriminated against bc I'm a muscular athletic male. Sorry I didn't fit the progressive hippy vibe...won't be coming back. I've had better food anyway

Went her for brunch this morning. It was my first time. The area around the location looks a bit dicey and the restaurant itself is kind of a dive. But the staff was friendly, prices were reasonable and the food was pretty good. I ordered a couple of eggs over easy, bacon, a red velvet waffle and an Irish coffee. The drink wasn't too strong. I probably wouldn't go after dark...doesn't look too safe. But otherwise it was an okay place.

This place is REALLY GOOD to eat at, I am giving it a 2 star for the fact that we got there at noon to eat lunch on a Saturday and we couldn't get a lunch menu till 2 o'clock they were only serving brunch. And we really wanted their cheese sticks.

Outdoor seating was nice, but otherwise not distinguishable from other undergrad bars: only mass-light beers on draft, no vermouth or cocktail glasses, margarita from mix (puzzled looks met the word "negroni"), and chips & "queso" suspiciously reminiscent of nuked Velveeta. I guess something the matter with me that I expected different from such a place. The staff were very nice, but not enough og them, or else complicated rules for getting service in the outdoor seating area that kept us tromping in and out to order from the bar.

Came in for dinner and a cocktail on a Friday night. I ordered a pina colada after getting the menus myself. They gave me pineapple juice with liquor. I brought it back to the bar just to be told that they don’t have coconut cream. I went without the drink for the night and the food was mediocre. The service was understaffed and could’ve been better customer service. Maybe it was just this night but so far I’m not impressed.

This place used to be good. Now its a Tiki bar that doesn't serve beer on tap. I walked in at 1245, bar closes at 2AM. I got looked at like I have antlers growing out of my head. I hate this place now. This used to be my go to for years.

Decided to try out this place today because of all the good reviews. I had the churro chicken and waffle and it was flavorless. The batter nor the chicken was seasoned..it was overly coated and not cooked all the way through…so I got a layer of crust and a layer of wet coating, followed by a layer of unseasoned chicken…and the waffle…well it was just a regular waffle that was soggy because the hot chicken was placed on top of it. Went inside everything looked really nice. We went and found our seats and waited for 20mins and we weren’t even acknowledge. A couple came in 10mins after we did and they were served first. Whom ever the waitress was didn’t even look our way so we just walked out after 30 minutes of being ignored. We won’t be returning.

The bartender trevor was awful. It took so long to get a beer. He would always go out for a smoke break and never do his job. He was really mean about it when asking where the drinks were. The waitress Taylor was really nice about the situation and tried to be as helpful as she could. Overall would not come back till trevor changes his attitude or is gone

We were here for brunch last Saturday. We were the first people to arrive here, table of 6. Pretty sure our waitress was drunk from the night before. I don’t care, college kids. However it took over an hour for food. Half the order was wrong. Half off Us didn’t even get our food but just paid the whole bill so we could leave.

We went here for Sunday Brunch and it turned out to be a disaster! We waited for over an hour and never received our food! The managers and owners were standing around getting drunk, while watching their waitresses struggle to provide service. As industry people we understand when a restaurant is busy, but the managers were not interested in helping us or their staff. As one of our friends left, he expressed his feelings of neglect and the manager proceeded to slap him in the face twice and attempted to follow him into the parking lot to attempt to fight him! Very unprofessional!! We will not be back!

Terrible experience. Food took forever to cook, waitress was rude and inattentive, and they forced a 20% tip on my wife and I's tab but nobody elses... because we were a table of 6, but we were the last to pay so she threw the whole tip on us, maybe because she knew she didn't deserve one anyway. Not even an apology, but did overhear her griping to another waitress that she knew we weren't happy about waiting 2 hours for our food. Will never go back.

We did the drive thru thing what a JOKE. The 3 burgers we ordered were awful. They were dry, not even warm, burnt tasting, had like 2 pieces of onion if we were lucky, and no bacon which was in their advertisement. I've had better hospital food than what we were given today. The fries were the only somewhat good thing and they were straight cold. We were charged $9, tax, and we included a tip before knowing how horrible these burgers were going to be. It's a shame that I wasted that money to support a small business who provided us with what we were given. You would think this would be your time to shine when you have limited customer traffic. Well you failed today!

Went here to celebrate a graduation with simple food and drinks, HORRIBLE service. The waitress has no idea what she is doing. We were the ONLY PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT. Out of a party of 8, two orders where either not made, or completely wrong. We ended up leaving before the last 2 orders were corrected. The waitress had no idea who got what and rarely gave us refills. Will not be returning even just for drinks. Do not waste your time or money.

Brunch was terrible. A friend ordered pancakes and it was burnt, all of our potatoes were cold, eggs weren't cooked properly and all in all just not great food by any means. Might be a great place for night life and drinks but brunch is not their fortay

My husband and I went in for 1 beer (each) which was less than $7 total and I left $3 and change for tip (for a total charge of $10) and this morning woke up to the final charge on my bank acct being $20! So, they changed my receipt?? What the heck kinda of people do that!? I will be calling them and speaking to a manager as soon as they open this morning. Dishonest people make me sick. We were actually talking about coming back to this place Friday (tonight)!! But wow, now I don’t know!!

In order for me to write my comment I had to pick a rating so I picked 1. That was too good for the way my friend and myself were treated. We sat there for an hour and was never served, the waitress took our order brought our drinks when we first got there and that was all we got. I am a woman of color and my friend is not and that's the reason we weren't served. I was complaining about it to other people and they experienced the same issue problem

We went for brunch and service was terrible. It took forever to get drinks (some of us never actually got it our drinks) and when we finally got our food it was awful. The picture on their social media don’t look anything like the food they served us. Our waitress ended up walking off and the manager came over and apologized and ended up giving us a 20% off our check.

Came here this morning (Sunday 8/19/18) for brunch expecting a good experience based on previously posted reviews. Ambiance is nice, roomy, clean, with a DJ playing tunes. The waitresses were pleasant and friendly. We decided to skip the brunch buffet and ordered straight from the menu. Decent price points, on par with similar breakfast places in town. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the waitress informed us the kitchen was backed up and it would be a few more minutes. No biggie, I’m willing to wait for good food. 15 minutes later (35 mins in) waitress apologies for the wait and informs us our food will be out any second. Again, not a big deal. 1 hour in and still no food. I flagged the waitress down to find out if our order was even being cooked (I did not want to walk out and waste there food). Waitress came back a few minutes later to inform us our food was being plated and would be out any second. At 1 hour 15 minutes in turns out the food wasn’t being plated, but “rushed.” We left without food. DO NOT LIE! I doubt I will every come back. Too bad, because I love eating. The conversation should have included, “Hey, we are really backed up, maybe an hour for your food, but we have this brunch buffet as an option if you don’t want to wait.” Instead I wasted over an hour for nothing. Hopefully, they get their act together and learn to communicate better with their customers.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but my experience at Savage Tavern was frustrating from start to finish. Our waitress only came to our table twice, and each time was nearly 30 minutes apart. I ordered a simple meal — 3 eggs with biscuits and gravy — but only received one egg. I politely mentioned it twice, yet the missing eggs were never brought out. When I finally expressed that I wasn’t satisfied with the meal, instead of trying to make it right, the staff argued with me back and forth. They eventually knocked off a couple bucks for the missing eggs, but I still ended up paying close to full price for a $16 plate I didn’t even get in full. The food itself wasn’t impressive enough to make up for the poor service and attitude. I won’t be back, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re expecting decent service or accountability.
