I had such a phenomenal experience here (as always)!! I recently graduated from LCU and wanted to take my family to eat some good ol bbq! Of course I had to choose True Texas BBQ inside of HEB!!! Although they do not take reservations, I did call ahead of time and gave them a heads up that I would be bringing a group of about 25 to eat here. I spoke to Sais and he said they would take care of everything for me and that they would get the tables and chairs situated. When it came time to order the food and eat, my entire family got everything in a very short amount of time! Which is a plus because people and hunger is not good! So the service was absolutely on point! It's impressive because 25 mouths is a lot to feed, but they did it and they did it expeditiously! I am so appreciative of the folks here- especially Sais and Tony who helped get my family members and I taken care of. I absolutely applaud them and highly recommend eating here because the service and accommodations were fantastically superb! From an Air Force veteran and (now) LCU alumni, THANK Y'ALL VERY MUCH!!!!

Went for a little late night grocery run with my family tonight and decided to spontaneously stop at true Texas bbq for the first time. I had the sliced brisket sandwich and my husband had the brisket nachos. The food was delicious and despite showing up a few minutes before they closed we still were able to eat our food in their dining area. Also, got to talk to one of their managers, Trent, and he continued to check up on us despite them being closed. Overall, the staff was very friendly and do 100% recommend! Our friendly visit with Trent alone made our experience worthwhile!

Reached out for a large catering for a big event, and Darin really came thru! I was given some options and settled on the 3 meat set up for about 72 people. I came by the restaurant and picked up the food, and had great counter service! I got the food back to our facility and was really impressed with the quality of the food and how much we got! We ended up with over 80 people showing up, and it was just right. I know that’s not expected every time, but it was definitely generous portions. Darin informed me that he is just getting in the GM role at True Texas BBQ, as a Supervisor myself, he’s definitely going in the right direction! We are looking forward to having his team serve us in the future. Wish him the best!!! Highly recommend!

Great service and Texas hospitality. I inquired about a side and was given a sample without hesitation, which means pride in their product, and they didn't disappoint. The friendly staff are awesome. Good smokey flavor and tender on the burnt ends, the beans and mac and cheese are a must try. Thanks, TTB! ❤️

Love HEB BBQ, I honestly choose it over any bbq in Lubbock not because of convenience but I really think it's the best. The service is always great, food is always consistent, and it's convenient. Today we got a free Mac and cheese just cause. Always great!

We absolutely love going to HEB for BBQ and drinks. The fried okra is so good! Matthew at BBQ was so great! He is an asset for sure. Genevieve at the bar was amazing! Her smile lit up the room! Can’t wait to go back!

Came here to have a bite to eat for lunch, we ordered the pulled pork sandwich. All I can say is that sandwich was the best pulled pork sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The staff were super friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for great bbq food.

This was my first time to an HEB and True Texas BBQ. Ordering process was fairly easy ordering then waiting for your name to be called. This was some of the best BBQ I’ve had in a long time! The loaded baked potato with chopped brisket was huge and had tons of flavor. The cornbread was a close second favorite to me, moist with melted butter on top. The Mac and cheese was rich and creamy and last but not least the jalapeño popper had a kick to it and lathered with a sauce that made my mouth water!

I ordered the two meat fatty brisket plate like I usually do and it seems this location in Lubbock Texas mixes the lean and fatty together. It tastes good but the fatty is the best.

For a bbq restaurant attached to a grocery store the food was pretty good. It was certainly the best available at 8:30 on a Tuesday evening. I had the fried okra and a 1/4lb of burnt ends. The okra with ranch dip was quite good. I typically don't like ranch except here. The burnt ends were saucy and a bit oily but very meaty with only a small streak of fat. Together these were under 11$

The brisket is good, but it can vary on quality. I got very fatty brisket when I ordered lean. I had dry brisket right after they opened. The line was very long with only one cashier. All the kiosks to place an order were not working. The restaurant has very loud music in evenings! It was in the 80s outside and the restaurant was very warm! Turn on the air conditioner to make it cooler! The trash can was full and I mentioned it to staff and nothing was done. Get food to go! It can take a long time to get your order. You most likely won’t get any sliced brisket after 8pm as I’ve tried a few times. They forgot pickles but added bread and onions I didn’t order or want. It’s just ok. Don’t drive all the way to HEB just for the food.

Pains me to say it because we only shop at HEB but the food has gone down hill. Got a loaded baked potato with chopped brisket. The potato was good but there was minimum brisket no butter and moderate cheese. Disappointed for sure.

A party of 5 and 1 person got what they ordered. They tried to force people to the kiosk for ordering. Tge cashier was short and rude with customers. Apparemtly since only 1 out of 5 orders was correct, she just pushed whatever buttons she wanted. Tge kiosk doesn't have tge whole menu and is hard to navigate. The restaurant was dirty at noon. Paper goods, sauces and cups are not stocked shortly after opening. Claire V should be restrained on register or let ho, whichever would be effective. Food was OK if it was what I ordered. Just go somewhere else unless you want tge game of eat whatever Claire decides for you.

Don't waste your money. This bbq is not worth the price for the amount you pay. I have never ever went to a bbq place and ordered a 1 meat combo and got 1 small piece of brisket. I took it to the counter and had to ask ..is this all I get and he said yes it goes by weight... so for the 16 dollar plus tax meal has a drink some corn and 1 small piece of brisket as pictured. I could have went to Texas Roadhouse and got a full out steak dinner for 2 dollars more. Me and my wife have eaten here a few times before grocery shopping and dont recall this so little amount. I guess they are cutting back like cracker barrel.Here is the actual picture of the tray as it came. Certainly not worth it for mediocre bbq.
